Adding a form in between adding to cart and checkout business catalyst

Hi Guys,
I think I'm the only guy who post weird requests, so sorry for the trouble... hope you can help t*fingers crossed.
We are required to captcha specific information for a certain/individual product and was wondering if there was a way to insert an addtional Webform between just before checkout process, it should be a required field inorder to proceed with purchase
I should explain that all other catalogues/products must be exempt from this requirement, its really a once-off request.
Can this be done?
Its a hard one, I know! ;-(

PS. As fall back and only if the above cannot be done, maybe I could extend CRM to send an automated request form after payment is made and request said information.... will this work?
My only concern here is that the additional step may increase refunds as the information required is important.

Add the shipping instructions field into your products layout.
This captchers custom information which you dont have to just have as shipping instructions.
You then manually make fields for those details you want.
All hidden by default.
For the phone catalog have its own template for that and say in the body have a class saying "phones" or similar. This you will use to css target.
When on the catalog .phones .something { display:blok; } will mean you show these fields only when on a phone.
Script wise those manual fields you have people enter those details in will fill in the STILL HIDDEN captcher details textarea the tag renders. This your using as a data store dump which will populate with that information.
For other non phone stuff these will be blank and not come through anywhere so all good.
You can add custom feilds to the payment form that you just say "If you bought a phone please fill these in" as the total easy option of course but then useability wise they may not or get confused if not buying a phone.
