Adding an albumn to existing page in iWeb

I have a website developed with iWeb.  I want to add another portfolio to the existing portfolio page. I can't seem to find an option to add an album [I call it a portfolio page on the website.]

Thank you SO much.  Please visit my art website.  It's rudimentary, but serves my purpose: to share my art with everyone.

  • Adding Background music to welcome page on Iweb.. any ideas? instructions?

looking to add background music to my welcome page on iweb. any easy instructions? thanks daniel malibu

Take a look at my page "source" code for some clues.
Editing published pages is as easy as opening the "raw" html code in TextEdit (preferences set to "plain" text) and applying your edits (copy/paste simple).
But once you edit these pages any changes made by the iWeb application and a new "publish" would remove your hand edited code.
To change what appears in your "Title" would only require you edit that line of code. To add metatags is the same.
The "snippet" part of iWeb 2 is always in the "body" part of the page code. Title and custom icons are part of the "head" tag code. Javascript code could be in even more parts depending on its function.
None of this is for the faint of heart or for those that don't understand the basics of html page code.
Open your published iWeb 2 page with a text editor and edit the "title" tag code to change the displayed "name". To add a custom icon requires you upload a 16X16 image file (the size of the icon in the browser address bar), upload that file to your server and then use that URL in the edited html code for your page. These are part of the "head" tag code.
    Hope this helps.

  • Adding a new podcast entries page in iweb

I am sure this is basic stuff, but it is escaping me. I built an iweb site (published in Mobile Me). I added a video podcast page then added the first video podcast entry. All went well. I want to add another video podcast entry and this is where I get lost. I assumed that I could duplicate the first entry page I created, edit it and add the new video podcast and publish. I am unable to duplicate the page. I have a rather highly customized page and really do not want to recreate it from scratch. Maybe I do not need a podcast page and I should just use a movie page, though I did want subscribe feature. If you want to take a look visit http://web.me.com/waynek1/Site_2/Podcast/Podcast.html Thanks

The feed URL you give redirects to http://kaufmak.wordpress.com/category/podcasts/feed/ which is the URL being used by iTunes. This feed has only the one episode in it, that of 15 February, and that shows in the Store and when subscribing.
You are creating your feed in Wordpress: so if you have added an episode there you haven't taken  whatever steps are necessary to get it into the feed - I'm afraid I can't advise on WordPress. You can only edit description and other data in WordPress; Chrome will allow you to examine the feed but not edit it.

  • Adding new elements to a Master Page and sharing them to existing pages

I need to include new navigation elements on the master page

OK there are two related as I see it.
Each of your pages consists of a solid, opaque bitmap for a
    main image.
Master Pages, by default, are at the bottom of the layer
    stack. Your
tabs ARE present, you just can't see them because they are
    covered up by
    the bitmap.
Assuming you don't have those page images as multi-object
    elements,
where you can edit the blue backgrounds, there are still two
    things you
can do, both of which are pretty easy.
Go into each page and temporarily reduce the opacity of Layer
    1.
Use the marquee tool to draw a selection around the area of
    the tabs.
    Delete the selection.
Return the lay back to full opacity.
    OR
Try dragging the Master page to the top of the layer stack in
    each page.
Hide or delete the Master page background.
This option is a little trickier, but I was able to do it.
    Wait for the
black bar to appear before you release the mouse. You may
    need to try
this a few times before it works.

  • Adding pages to iWeb

when adding page to iweb, how do i move the name of the new page off of the top of the home page?  looking to have it on the bottom of the page..  thanks!

Are you referring to the navbar at the top which are links to each page in the site?  If so then you'll have to deactivate (not include)  the navbar on each of the pages in the Inspector/Page/Page pane:
and create your own Text Based Navbar which you can position anywhere.  However, there is a drawback to having the navbar at the bottom:  if the page is longer than the browser's window a visitor would have to scroll down the page to get to the navbar in order to go to a new page. That's not good web page design.
However, if the pages are long then having a navbar at the top and bottom is wise.

  • How can I add a podcast episode to an existing web page using iWeb?

How can I add an episode to an existing web page using iWeb?
I could probably figure this out but I am afraid if I make changes to the site and re-upload it to the podcast area I will have just doubled it. I see them repeated from time to time.
What is the proper protocal? Thanks

    Hi apple-owner,
    Method 1.
To create this scatter-plot, I selected the whole of Columns A and B. (Shift click on the Column reference tabs).
The plot ignores blank rows, but they are "ready" for new data:
    Method 2
If you did not select whole columns, you can extend the "active" rows. Rows 1-5 selected:
Add more data rows and drag the fill handle (small white circle, bottom right) down

  • Adding a page to an existing page

Does anyone know if it's possible to add a page to an existing page? If I try to add a page it adds it to the entire site (thus it showing up in the top bar - I don't want that). I just want a new page within in a page.

  • Adding a "downloads" Page to iWeb?

I'm a middle school teacher who currently has an online website through .Mac homepage. I'm ready to switch everything over to iWeb.
What I really need is a page that allows parents & students to download homework assignments I post on a regular basis. This is covered through my homepage now...but what do I do about it with iWeb?
IF this is not possible, could some Apple guru please tell me how I can use my start page in .Mac to link to my new pages in iWeb?
    Thanks in advance,
    Brian

Well, it's been a week since I started playing with iWeb, and being able to compare it to my up-and-running .Mac homepage.
My site on .Mac was put up as an extension of my classroom. Since most are familiar with (and have probably bookmarked) my original site, I won't get rid of it all together this school year.
I have messed around with iWeb where I finally published a new site, have worked on 'classroom' blogs, and recorded 2 podcasts with GarageBand 3! And yes, I think I'll definately throw a link on the new site to get them to the old site.
F.Y.I. I don't want parents or students to download everything in my public folder, so I will keep the present format I have, where you go in and decide what visitors can see.
I imagine that Apple will eventually discontinue the homepage sites down the road. I also see them coming out with a update to fix any common 'issues' that people have had.... I personally hope they come out with more choices for templates as well.
Hey, it's all good when it comes to Apple and their suite of programs. They still kick some major technological butt over that Windows OS!
Once again, thank you all that replied.

  • Strange bug -- adding one more button OR page causes Form warning to appear

I'm building a simple interactive document in InDesign CS4 on the Mac, to be exported/delivered as a PDF. There are a few text-based buttons on the Master Page that are set to Go To a Text Anchor on Release. There are 4 buttons of these buttons on the page, and each one leads to a different page in the document, and they all work fine. They are all built the same way.
I want to export a PDF that opens cleanly in Reader, meaning no unexpected dialog boxes or warning messages appear. Up until this point, my document opens cleanly in Reader.
However, when I create a FIFTH button (using the exact same method used to create the other buttons), OR I add ANY more pages to my document (which currently stands at 16 pages, but will need to ultimately be upwards of 40), for some reason, opening the PDF in Reader causes Reader to start displaying the large, distracting pink warning message at the top of the page:
"Please fill out the following form. You cannot save data typed into this form. Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records."
The fifth button I create (from scratch) causes this message to appear.
Or, if I add another page (using my Master Page, where the buttons are used), this message appears. Even if the fifth button is not created, and I add another page from the Master, this message appears.
If I add a blank new page (without using the Master Page), the message does NOT appear.
So, for some reason, adding ONE more button, or referring to the Master Page in the document ONE more time by adding a 17th (or more) pages, seems to kick InDesign/Acrobat Reader into thinking my document is suddenly a form, and causes Reader to display that obnoxious pink message when opening the document.
    I've tried several troubleshooting steps.
    - I've ensured my buttons have unique names.
    - I've tried creating the fifth button from scratch, and also tried creating it from duplicating one of the existing "good" buttons.
    - I've made sure the button has a destination page/Text Anchor to go to.
    - I've opened the PDF in Acrobat Pro 9, and gone through all of the page and buttons in the Forms Manager, and there is nothing out of the ordinary in that view.
Why is Reader suddenly thinking my document is a form (that "cannot be edited/saved") when I add one more button, or one more page!? It's bizarre, and quite frustrating.
    Thanks for any insights,
    Robbie

You can use that same workaround with ID CS4 files. You just have to make the PDF and then go into Acrobat to add the security that doesn't allow editing (Acrobat -> Security -> Encrypt with Password) . That gets rid of the warning about the form. Of course if you actually have a form somewhere in your document, you won't be able to use that......

  • I updated to os x 10.8.5 today and now I cannot publish changes to my web page through iweb.  iweb crashes every time I try to publish

I updated to os x 10.8.5 today and now I cannot publish changes to my web page through iweb.  iweb crashes every time I try to publish

    First do the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
Next, in Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • Adding CSS to an existing site

Our Chorus has had a website up for many years, developed
first in FrontPage, then in MS Expressions Web. We expect to
continue evolving it and adding content.
    http://www.sandiegofestivalchorus.org
I finally bought DreamWeaver CS4 and it works very well to
update the site the way I have always been doing it. Now I am
thinking about using Style Sheets to make future updating easier.
Right now the only style I find reference to is "h1" and I've not
    yet investigated where it applies.
I've been going through some of the tutorials and what I
think I have learned is that I can embed styles in the code for the
site or create a new style sheet and put all the style info there.
    Is that correct?
My main question is: How much effort should I put into using
CSS approaches? If it is worth it, should I create a new style
    sheet?
Once I have created some styles, will I have to go through
the whole website identifying the style for each styled element?
Or should I save CSS for my next new website?
    Thanks,
    John Fistere

I sure wouldn't approach it that way. Make sure you
    understand the three
types of selectors well before you embark on this: id, class,
    and type.
Then you will most likely want to REBUILD each page
    completely (since most
of the HTML infrastructure will be different anyhow).
I will frequently do this by working on the existing page,
    and creating the
new layout structure at the top of the page, so I can
    conveniently drag and
drop layout elements from bottom to top as I fill out the new
    layout.
