Adding credits to a slideshow...

In the past I have used soundslides to create audio slideshows and then embedded them in to a webpage like this:
http://www.jackfm.co.uk/cowboymod/
As you can see in the bottom ride corner there is a 'credits' tab.
I was wondering whether there was a similar feature for slideshows created in Aperture.
Thanks for all your help so far.

  • Need help adding audio to a slideshow in iDVD. I don't see my playlists.

I'm a relatively new Mac user & am trying to create my first DVD ever. I'm just learning as I go. I'm trying to create a slideshow with about 400 pictures to show at a "Going Away" Party. I've created a playlist to go along with it, but when I click on Audio & then on iTunes, it pulls up all of my songs in my whole library, but doesn't show my playlists anywhere. When I click on "help" it tells me that I should be able to go to Audio, click on iTunes, click on "library", & then find my playlist. However, I don't see "library" under iTunes. Help!

+but is it possible to make many different slideshows on the DVD but somehow have it play automatically from one to the other+
No. You can do that in DVD Studio Pro.
Here's a couple of examples of how I did these projects a couple of years ago:
    *Mediterranean 2003 cruise*
I had over 1000 images from a Mediterranean cruise. I broke them down in to 24 Albums in iPhoto (fewer than 99 images each). In iDVD, I created 6 Folders which created sub-menus. Main Menu buttons (folders/slideshows) such as Barcelona, French Riviera, Florence, Rome, Naples, Malta. Then I added each of the corresponding 24 iPhoto Albums to those 6 slideshows, thereby creating 24 total slideshows on sub-menus. Takes some planning. All slideshows had transitions and music.
    *Ireland 2004 iDVD Project*
Nearly 800 images dragged into iDVD as organized folders from the hard drive. Transitions on each image, and menus, sub-menus, and sub-sub menus. The sub-menus are created by clicking on the Folder icon on the iDVD interface.
Main Menu has 6 buttons: Downpatrick, Antrim Coast, Letterkenny, Sligo, Trim, and Extras. Behind each button are additional buttons ranging from 3 to 6 buttons. The Extras button goes fairly deep. When you click on Extras, it gives you 3 choices on a new menu. The "B&Bs" button opens a new menu with 5 buttons. The "Movies" button opens a new menu with 4 buttons. If you click on the "Irish Music" button, you open a new menu with 2 buttons. At that point, you are at a "sub-sub-sub menu."
Music was on most of the slideshows. Some movies converted to QT DV from Canon S400 digicam .AVI files (iDVD 4). Now convert to H.264 with QuickTime 7. Images are original 4MP (2MB) JPEG images from the same digicam. This DVD project is around 4GB with all pictures as DVD-ROM content.

  • White space added to end of slideshow

I've created a slideshow in 5.5 and at the end of my slideshow when it's played (either in project preview or exported to YouTube) there is about :40sec of white space added in.
What could I have done to create this? The last slide is an image slide, there is nothing beyond that.
Also, is there a way to instruct the slideshow to repeat at the end or is there a player besides a YouTube player that will repeat once it reaches the end?
    Many thanks for the help!

    Thanks, Andy!  That was helpful.
Here is a screen shot of the last slide:
In the Project Preview within Captivate, there is no white addition.  It is when I upload it to YouTube is when the additional white space is added on - it adds about :40sec or so of white before it fades out.
Thanks so much for your help - I've been trying to figure this out for awhile!

  • Adding Picture To Completed Slideshow

Hello, everyone! I created a slideshow with iPhoto 09 & imported it to iDVD 7.1.2. Everything worked out fine except that I forgot to include a photo. Is there any way I can add the photo to the (almost) completed slideshow in iDVD. Dragging & dropping didn't seem to work. I'm running Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.8. Thanks in advance!

hi, without actually testing, I am quite sure you cannot.
Is there a problem going back into iPhoto and adding the last picture?
If you do that, don't forget to start a NEW project in iDVD instead of using the "update project" feature. It simply doesn't work. don't even try. things get screwed up.
    good luck!

  • Adding Music to a slideshow in Premiere Elements 4

I am new to media software. I have some experience with editing photos in Photoshop Elements 4. Since that program was unable to make slideshows that played on a TV, I purchased the new bundle with Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4. I have been having great difficulty finding good instructions on how to do things in these programs. Their online manuals and Help section seem to be for people who are already familiar with these kinds of programs. So, I am here, to try to get some help.
I made a slideshow in Photoshop Elements 6 and sent it to Premiere Elements 4. I was able to burn it and it plays on our TV. Now I want to add music to it. I first looked at the slideshow in Premiere Elements 4 but could not figure out how to add the music using that program.
Therefore, I went back to the slideshow I created in Photoshop Elements 6 and have been trying to add music in that program with the idea of sending it to Premiere Elements 4 again when it is time to burn. I need to add Mulitiple Music Selections to the slideshow. I am trying to coordinate different music with the different cities we visited in Alaska. This has been a bit difficult for me to do. I am getting there, but it is not effecient. I posted on the Photoshop Elements Forum and it was suggested I try this forum. Someone thought it might be easier to do using Premiere Elements 4. If there is a link somewhere with directions on how to add the music in either program, I would be most grateful for that information. I am looking for instructions on how to add MULTIPLE music selections to ONE slideshow. I found the instructions for adding one music selection, and I understand that. I just need to take it further. Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Mary,
I create all of my slideshows in Premiere Pro, so I am learning a lot about the interaction between PSE and PE from your thread. Were it not for Barbs instructions to Break Apart the slide show from PSE, I would never have thought of that. As you say, learn something new everyday. I also only have the full Photoshop, not PS Elements, so I do not know what PSE offers. See, Im learning things right there.
Now, lets see if I can give you an easy way to do the Fade-out of your Audio, and not confuse you. There are several ways to do this, but I like to use the Audio Mixer. Maybe its because it looks like my mixing console from my analog days and Im comfortable with the pot (potentiometer) control that is displayed.
You have now followed Barbs instructions to Break Apart the slide show. You are now in the Timeline view and have expanded it horizontally and maybe the two main Track (Audio, where your music is, and Video) vertically, so that you can see your Clips (your slides). Go to the menu at the top of the Workspace and click Window. This will give you a drop-down menu. About 7/8 of the way down, click on Audio Mixer. This would be written as Window>Audio Mixer. This will open a new Panel, Audio Mixer. At the top of this new Panel are the names of your Audio Tracks, say Audio 1, Audio 2, Narration and Music. Because you could have your music on about any of these, youll need to match up its location (left side of the Timeline will give you the exact Track name) with the names of the various Tracks in the Audio Mixer. Once you have that name match, the fun begins.
I like to place the CTI (the Current Time Indicator) a bit ahead of where I will want to make my change. This gives me some time to get ready. Lets say that your music IS on the Music Track. Looking down below that label in the Audio Mixer, you can see a round knob marked Balance. Look down below that and youll see a vertical window marked Level, with a chart just to the right of it. There are three elements to that chart: a black slot line, and small horizontal rectangle with a horizontal line in it and then numbers with +s and -s. That horizontal rectangle is the pot (potentiometer) handle and is what we will be using. It is probably set a 0, but it might reflect a sound level set previously, maybe in PSE. You might want to jot down where it is set right now, in case we need to go back.
Now its time to get creative. Position the Audio Mixer where you can see it and also the Timeline. Note that you can change the size of the Audio Mixer, so that it only shows the Audio Track that you are working on, if needed. Place your mouses cursor over the pot handle (that little horizontal bar) click and hold for a second. With your other hand, hit the Spacebar to start the play of your Timeline. The CTI will begin moving to the right and youll hear the Audio Track and see the images in the Monitor. While still clicking and holding on the pot, get ready. When you are approaching where you want your Fade-out to begin, slowly drag the pot down to the very bottom. The idea is to do this at a speed that will get you to the - ∞ point, just as you come to the end of your slide.
What this does is automatically add Keyframes to the Audio Track (the one where your music is), that go from the set level to silent. This is just how we used to do it pre-digital, except we had our finger on the pot and actually slid a mechanical/electronic device. If you look closely at your Audio Track, youll also see a bunch of little circles on the yellow line. These are the Keyframes. The beauty of doing it this way, is that you can vary the speed of the Fade-out. You can start slowly, then increase the Velocity of the Fade. [Note: in Premiere Pros Effects Panel, you can manipulate this Velocity to your hearts content. I do not believe that PE allows as much control there.]
There are two other ways to accomplish the same thing. One is to manually add a Keyframe, at the CTI (accomplished by clicking on the little diamond on the left side of the Audio Track in the Timeline), on the Audio Track, where you wish the Fade-out to start. This basically holds the Level before that point to what it was set to. Then you go to the end of that piece of music. Lets say that it ends exactly where your slide ends (on the Video Track). I find that point easily by hitting Page Down, then the <- key (left cursor key). Page Down takes you to the next cut, or Clip, and the <- takes you back to the last frame. Here youd manually add another Keyframe. Drag down on this second Keyframe to drop the Audio level to - ∞ like above.
The other way to do this is to add an Audio Transition to the end of your music. I use Constant Power from the Audio Transitions pre-sets for this. One can alter the length of these Transitions to fit the time desired for the Fade-out. When it comes to steps involved, this might be the easiest method, but I like the control of Keyframes, and like to use the Audio Mixer to achieve the effect that I am listening for.
As with most Adobe programs, there are several ways to get what you desire. These methods usually only differ by degrees for control. Some are almost one click and drag solutions, other require user input. The beauty is that the simple way will often get what you want, while the latter will allow much more control.
Personally, Id try all three, just to see which one is easier for you and which one allows you the exact effect that you want.
I hope that the forum formatting will bring in the characters that I have used, so you can see them. If you get a bunch of little solid black blocks, it did not. That is why I also added the annotations to tell you what the symbol is.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Why doesn't added music play in slideshow preview?

I created a slideshow in PSE 9 Organizer and added audio, but it doesn't play in the preview. It is an mp3 file, added normally, and shows up in the audio track.

    Hi,
Is ti not playing the audio while you are creating the audio or is it not playing on the output (PDF/WMV).
Also, check out is it happening with only one specific file or with every audio file.

  • Added Credits No Longer Show...

Whenever I want to add a credits scene, it tells me that it has been added, but when I try to playback my movie, it just skips over the credits scene. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix it?

    Hi,
It's difficult to say - it could be a stylesheet issue. If you clear your browser's cache and Ctrl-F5 your page, perhaps?
Have a look for "InvalidProcedure.jpg" in here: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=267:41] - click on the image to make it full size. I've intentially made my GETPAGE procedure invalid by adding a "Blah" line - clicked compile and refreshed the Procedures list. The red bar definitely appears. This is on my OTN workspace - the Apex version is shown bottom-right.

  • Adding multiple 100% width slideshows to the top of a page and using triggers to select.  Is it possible???

    Hi!
I am looking to create a changeable slideshow at the top of a webpage. I want to be able to select different slideshows to view at the top of the page and use triggers/buttons to select the relevant slideshow. This is for a catering site, so I would like that if the user clicks 'canapes' button the slideshow images at the top of the page will show canapes and the caption will show text about them, if they select the 'cocktails' button then a new slideshow will appear showing images of cocktails together with a relevant caption.
I thought this might be possible by placing slideshows within a lightbox or composition widget but seem to be banging my head against the wall! Can someone help?
    Is it possible?
If yes, is there a youtube video to show how its done?
    Any help much appreciated.
    Martin

Is it possible? Yes... I wouldn't do it because having all those images sitting on the one (first) page will slow the page loading times down and just piss people off but thats your main answeer.
The compositions widgets allow you to build more complex ideas and is what I'd use to make this sort of thing in Muse...
    p.s. if you just want something fast then have a look at what some people have already made to get ideas;

  • Adding a Flash-Type Slideshow in iWeb

I want to add a slideshow to my home page, but not the kind of slideshow that has a bar of thumbnails and an enlarged version of the selected image. I'd like a frame that automatically plays a slideshow of images that play for a few seconds with a simple transition. Is this something I can create in iMovie and then import or even in iPhoto? I know you can't use Flash itself, which is fine since I don't know the program, although I'd learn it for this purpose if it was possible to use it.
All thoughts are appreciated. If interested, the site is www.jrcphoto.net
    Thanks
    Jim

Jim ~ You can create a QuickTime movie slideshow in iPhoto. Here's an example of a fast loading, looping embedded slideshow (not mine):
    http://www.heese-cadieux.com
    ...and done like this:
iPhoto > select photos > File > Export... > QuickTime tab ...set width and height, etc.
Then iWeb > Media button > Movies tab ...drag in your movie created above by iPhoto.
Then iWeb > Inspector > QuickTime tab ...settings.
Note: The above generates a QT slideshow of small file size and thus appears quickly in a web browser.

  • Adding Text to a Slideshow of images....

    Hi,
I am still on iDVD 4.0.1 so could somebody please answer a couple of, hopefully, easy questions to help make my mind up about whether I should opt to buy the new iLife package (currently on version 06).
I have created a slideshow and want to add text to each of the photographs, it is a family album so I want to add different text to each individual photo i.e. Auntie Marge 1964 etc....There doesn't seem to be a way of doing this in this version?
I have burnt my first project to DVD but when I view it on the TV I am getting a warping effect on a number of images in the slideshow, any ideas why?
So in conclusion, is it worth my while upgrading to the new iLife06 and will it include either a fix or a new feature that will help in the above queries?
    Thanks,
    Will.

    Hello Will,
The best way to do what you want to do is to use iPhoto to create a slideshow, expanding the image viewing time to 5 seconds + for each image with or without Ken Burns and export it to Quicktime. Then import the Quicktime movie into iMovie. Next step is to split the clip at the playhead of each individual image and add a title with the 'over black' deselected. The subtitle option works well for this. It takes a bit of time to do, but there really is no quick way to do what you want to do. There are various plugins for iMovie as well and some do allow you to put text over batches of images, although I would guess you want to put different text over each image. I have done it a few times and it does come up really well. You can't do it with an iDVD slideshow.

  • Adding Music to iWeb Slideshows

I would like to add some music to the slideshows I've published using iWeb. I discovered some old (ie. Oct/2006) threads discussing this topic and have tried what was suggested there - downloading the AC-QuickTime.js and editing the slideshow HTML file as suggested, but could not get it to work. Does anyone have any ideas? This seems like such a simple feature to want to add to a slideshow (ie. the way you do it right in iPhoto), it seems like there has to be a way. Thanks for any help.

    pmuck,
    Welcome to the discussions.
Not sure what you've read, so here's the crash course on it again!
As long as you don't mind doing a little post publish editing of your .js files, it's fairly easy to do. You will find them in this path on your iDisk, using the Go menu in Finder:
    Go/iDisk/MyiDisk/Sites/iWeb/Nameofsitefolder/Page_filesFolderPage.js
Open the .js files for that particular page on your iDisk with any text editor (I like Taco, and it's free) and make the following changes to the script code that controls your movie (song): (you will find the movie code near the top of the page in the .js file)
    Change autoplay="false" to autoplay="true"
    Change loop="false" to loop="true"
Changing controller value="true" to controller value="false" will remove the controller from the page entirely. Make these changes in both sets of tags, (object and embed).
Make the changes and just "Save". Clear your browser cache and you should see the changes take effect immediately. Bear in mind you will have to make this modification each time you republish your site. You can also save this modified .js file and replace the republished file with it, as long as no other changes were made to the page in iWeb.
Post back and let us know how it goes.

  • What app is best for adding text to a slideshow?

I would like to alternate quotes with photos in a slideshow (with music).  Can this be done in iphoto or imovie? Thanks!

If you use iPhoto you'll need a 3rd party image editor to create the quote slides, import them into iPhoto and add to the slideshow.
    Some Image Editors:
    Photoshop Elements 9 for Mac - $79
    Rainbow Painter - $30
    Imagerie - $38
    Acorn - $50
    Pixelmator - $60
    Seashore - Free
    Portraits and Prints - Free
    GIMP for Mac - Free
If you have Pages or any application that can  give you the layout designwith the quote that you want for the slideshow you can create the quote slide with it and  do a Print ➙ PDF ➙ Save PDF to iPhoto to get a jpg copy of the  page in Pages into iPhoto according to this workflow:
One way to get a file into iPhoto as a jpeg file is the following:
1 - open the file in any application that will open it.
2 - type Command+P to start the print process.
3  - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
Note:  If you don't have that option go to  Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
4 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a book that will be ordered).
5 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto.

  • Adding markers for audio slideshow

Does anyone know if you can add audio markers in iMovie 09? I'm trying to create a photo slideshow and want to snap my photos to the beat of the tune but don't see any way to accomplish this.

Yes. Use the [beat marker feature|http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/imovie_09stone.html#markers]

  • Adding song to PSE10 Slideshow crashes program.

Very simple issue, hopefully a simple fix.
My customer had a Windows 7 C2Quad system, upgraded to a custom built AMD FX Quad system. On the old system, he had both PSE8 and PSE10 Installed. He was able to add songs from his iTunes to a PSE10 slideshow no problem.
Now with his new system, he only has PSE10 installed, and when he adds a song from iTunes to a PSE10 slideshow, it freezes and crashes.
I don't have the computer in front of me, and these are notes coming from him. Any ideas? Is there some conversion utility or codec he might be missing? When installing PSE10, it was simply installed from Disc 2(the x64 disc), and no other disc was inserted. Again, PSE8 is not installed. He is using Win7 x64.
    Thanks gents!
    -Blacker.

I will forward that idea to him, thanks! The only reason I'm not sure that's going to be the reason is he said he was using the exact same files(meaning, same songs) from the old PC. The files were transferred from the old PC to the new one, but I wouldn't think that would cause any issue.

  • Adding Audio to a slideshow

Anyone know how I can add an audio file top use as a background for a slidshow created in cs5 Bridge?

To my knowledge you can't use Bridge for this, it is only an extra option to view selected files as a slideshow. If you want this for presentation you have to look for specified software to create slideshows. Look at Apimac Slideshow or Google for other applications, most of them will have a free trial download but likely you have to pay for such an application that is capable for creating slideshows with audio.
