Adding Every Row From a Filtered Interactive Report to a Collection

I'm creating an email list maintenance application in Apex 3.1. I have an Interactive Report on an email address table. I want the users to be able to run this IR and then click a button to add all of the resulting email addresses into a selected mailing list table. The interface needs to be as quick and simple for the user as possible, so I don't want to force them to click a checkbox beside hundreds of rows.
Is there a way to add every resulting row from a custom IR to an apex_collection?
I know that collections can be created based on a query with the CREATE_COLLECTION_FROM_QUERY call. But I don't think it's possible to reference the SQL statement which is dynamically generated through an Interactive Report. I'm referring to the SQL created after the user has applied filters. If there were, then I would just create the collection that way. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I couldn't find a place where the filters are stored either - it would be nice to know.
It is possible to get to the filters via javascript as they are actually stored in a table with an id of "apexir_CONTROL_PANEL_COMPLETE". Within there, there are rows for each filter and each row has four cells. The second cell contains an A tag that has the filter itself as the text displayed as a hyperlink on screen. The third cell contains the checkbox that enables/disables the filter. Strings and numbers seem to be formatted ok, so you could pick up these values and create your own WHERE clause, populate a hidden field somewhere and then pick that up to generate a full select statement to get to the id's that you need.
I haven't yet tried this, so this is theory only - but I can't see that it wouldn't work

  • "Invalid number" error using Interactive Report search  on collection

    hi -- I have several interactive reports based on collections. In the IR reqion query definition,
    I cast the collection values as needed (number, date, etc). Everything's been working great.
    In both development and production, I can use the search feature of interactive reports
    and it finds rows containing the text I type in (as well as everything else working fine...)
    I just imported a new version of an application into our production database. Now, when I use the
    interactive report search, I always get "invalid number". This even happens on interactive reports
    that still work in the previous version of the production application... and these IRS
    have not been modified at all.
    If I create a filter and search for "elevation" in a string column, the filter works. If I create a filter
    searching for "elevation" in a number column, I get "invalid number". (In the development
    environment, I can do the latter -- it just doesn't find any rows.)
    Clearly it's choking on the types of the columns in the IR... but why now and not before, and why
    in the production database but not the development DB? Both are running 4.0.1.00.03.
    This is a pretty major loss of functionality... and it comes at a really bad time... Help?!

    That was very useful document that you shared, yes that is correct we can so it this way but there is another way doing it where in if you go to the report attribute section and in that there is Layout and Pagination and under
    that you can fix the number of rows, and over there we can also accept values from page item such as if the page item value changes the number of rows displayed in the report changes dynamically.
    In my report i get only pagination but not a option for layout.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    And also where i can get the links to the similar document that you have shared ?

    i want to create a default filter based on the current user's user_id. if i change my query like this

    AND i.owner = :APP_USERIDit works fine but if i wanted to view all records not just owned by the current user, i will have a problem.

    I tried some different things in the Interactive reports (make a default with :ITEM or &ITEM.), but they didn't work.
    The only why I can think of now how to get it work is by adding in your query a DECODE or NVL
    WHERE 1 = 1
    AND i.owner = u1.user_id
    AND i.reported_by = u2.user_id
    AND i.submitter = u3.user_id
    AND i.owner = NVL(:APP_USERID,i.owner)
    Basically what it does, if the value of :APP_USERID is set it will use that, if that value is null it will return all records. So you would have a process or computation that sets the item APP_USERID to null when you hit something to get all records.

  • Adding an alpha picker to your interactive report

    The interactive report is realy a great great feature of Oracle Apex.
    When working with a lot of data like cost centers names, organization names, person names, ect.
    some users have requested if it isn't possible to have a convenience filter, so that they just have to click on a letter and they get filtered all the names that start with that letter (aka alpha picker) that look like this:

    I was fascinated that such a feature is realy easy to implement as smooth integration with the interactive report features.
    Just Create a region of type "PL/SQL" and paste the following into it and you are reday to filter by first letter:

  • Help with implementing Row Level Security in Interactive Reporting

    We're deploying Hyperion BI+ 9.3.1, using Workspace and Interactive Reporting. I'm researching how we can use the Workspace row level security option. I've read what's available for documentation in the Workspace Administrator Guide and the Interactive Reporting Users Guide. I understand the concept of setting up rules with row_level_security.bqy, but I'm confused about where these tables should go and what actually happens when I go to Workspace > Administrator > Row Level Security and turn it on.
    The Administrator's Guide tells me the "properties" are stored in the repository, but the "rules" are in the "data source". Does that mean my BRIOSEC* tables go in the database I'm running my reports from? If so, then what's the data source I'm filling in on Workspace > Administrator > Row Level Security?
    I have many different database connections going to different Oracle and SQL*Plus instances, and I don't want to apply row level security to all of them. How does Workspace tell the difference between them? If I enable rules but create a report from a database that doesn't have rules defined for it, what happens?

    The 3 tables used with the RLS are stored in the same schema as your repository by default.
    The RLS store all the Rules for any database that you are using.
    You define the rules based on the tablename (owner.tablename) and the column name.

  • Row Selector column on Interactive Report

    Hi all,
    I have an interactive report based on a custom SQL query. How do I add a row selctor column so I cans select individual rows? I have also tried using a tabular form which also does not display a row selctor column. This is odd as my other tabular forms display a row selctor column.

    Usually when someone wants a row selector, it's to choose a few rows by clicking a checkbox, then doing something with them. I'm guessing that's what you're looking for?
    Martin Giffy D'Souza's [blog post|http://apex-smb.blogspot.com/2009/01/apex-report-with-checkboxes-advanced.html] explains one way to do that which should work for you. I haven't tried, it, but it looks pretty comprehensive.

  • Error while migrating repository files from Brio to Interactive reporting

    Hi,
    I am doing migration of Brio from 8.3.1 to Hyperion Interactive Reporting version 11.1.2.1. I am referring http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/hs_migration.pdf
    I am facing error when I am migrating resitory files from brio 8 to Interactive reporting version11 environment.
    Error [[ENOENT]] Accessing path: /c2cnas/Oracle/Hyperion_Home/EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus/opencat
    when I checked at my Linux server I do not see "opencat" directory under /c2cnas/Oracle/Hyperion_Home/EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus path. I don't know why this directory or folder was missed after Hyperion Interactive Reporting Installation. Do we need to create this folder manually for newer versions( 11.x)?
    Has anyone aware of this error? will it impact my migration? I am thinking that migration utility is looking to place .oce files in this directory but it could not find. is my understanding correct?
    Please help me on this.

    Usually in 11.1.2.1 the folder will be  "EPMSystem11R1\products\biplus\data\Open Catalog Extensions"
    I haven't seen a opencat folder.
    Can you check the migration logs.Also check permission for the user on the folders.

  • Change standard rows (15) in an interactive report

    I want to change the default value for rows in an interactive report (15).
    It should be displayed in principle always 50 rows. I have unfortunately found no setting which I can change that.
    A search on the net and forum brought no help.

    Ah. Try this -- it was a surprise to me.
    Edit the report but this time click the "Saved Reports" tab at the top. Select your report. Click the report checked box -- I don't know if this is necessary. Then in the "Actions" > "Rows Per Page", what number is highlighted? Highlight 50. If the selector doesn't go up the 50, increase the Maximum Rows Per Page back on the "Report Attributes" tab. The saved report should now be set to 50 lines per. Login in again and restart your report.

    Sorry for the poorly written original post. I will be much more specific.
    I have a Interactive Report on page 40. That report has a column named X_UID that is a link back to page 40 and sets a text item named P40_X_UID in a Region we will call "Form X" with the value of the column. That page refresh also then calls a Automated Row Fetch process to fetch all the values needed for the rest of the page items in the "Form X" region. Also "Form X" region has a conditional display on to only display when P40_X_UID is not null.
    What I would like to do:
    When the user clicks on link in the IR for X_UID instead of the "Form X" region becoming visible I would like to become modal. I am trying to use a Plug-In named "ClariFit Simple Modal - Show". I have it working with a Dynamic Action when you click a Page Item. But I would like to to work when the link is clicked and the data populated.

  • Button branch to filtered interactive report

    Is it possible to have a button branch to an interactive report and filter it per click of the button rather than using the search bar? Basically my user wants the same action as the search bar but in button form on the previous page.

    You could reference your form fields in the where clause like this:
    SELECT something

         AND (:F100_FILTER_02 IS NULL OR st.col_name_02=:F100_FILTER_02);You have to compare the filter to NULL as well. That way, if they don't enter anything in the form field, they will get all records. I've done this with one app, and the users really like it.

  • Adding/deleting rows from a treeTable with a read-only view object

    I'm getting a JBO-25016 error when I go to delete a row from a treeTable. I want to create the hierarchy from a stored procedure, have the user add and remove nodes without calling back to the database. I will iterate through the tree and see what has changed and made the necessary updates on the database manually.
    What is the correct method for adding/removing rows form the UI component?

  • Filtering Interactive Report which has combo box

    Hi,
    I am a rookie in apex.I have an interactive report in which I have a column which contain's only combo box's. Let me say for example that the display values are Yes and No and the return values are Y and N and the name of the column as "required". When I try to filter the report, I can do so for all the other column's but when I try to do so for this column, I get two combo box's when I click on the expression filter instead of the Yes or No choices. I want the choices to appear in the filter for 'required' column instead of the combo box's. How can I do this? ...I have been searching google in vain...Thanks in advance

  • Filtering Interactive Reports with Greater Than Less Than Operators

    The available filter operators in the interactive reports do not include greater than or less than. How is it possible to enable an application user to filter records where greater than or less then logic is needed?
    For example the user wants to query records where sysdate falls between a start and end date.

    Ya know, that's all well and good ... BUT ... WHAT IF you do want to sort text type columns with Greater Than and Less Than operatiors??
    SQL does it just Fine ... so WHY does APEX have the limit??? This is an Oracle BUG ... it SHOULD NOT limit the operators ... I realize "they" may be trying to be helpful with proper constraints to field searches ... but ... if SQL can do it, then ... no need for a limit.
    EG ...
    Show the records where
    the "Begin_Year-Wk" data is less than or equal to "2009-09" AND
    the "End_Year-Wk" data is greater than or equal to "2009-04"
    ... to give everything that was running in that 5 week period whether or not it starts within that time frame
    I can run this query perfectly fine via SQL ... but not in APEX ... unless I reconvert a lot of strings back to numbers, and for sorting / formatting / explain-to-user purposes, I really don't want them to be numbers.
    So ... there's gotta be a hidden tweak for operators somewhere ...

    If you go to transaction FBL5N into settings -> Layout -> Current Header Rows, you're able to change the header outputs at the top of each ALV List. I'm trying to do the same with my custom report, but when I go to settings -> Layout, I dont have the option to choose current header rows. How can I add this feature to my custom program?

    Here u can full the data in Vendor master record in Payment Transaction u can fill the data like Cityn, Bank key and Bank account, and one payment transaction in code code data here also u can maintain House Bank then execute the FBL1N definetly system showing the House bank.
