Hi krishna
we have developed the upload functionality with the metadata properties earlier.(same as in this thread).and we were able to upload documents in to our repository well from a quite long time.
but now we encountered with an issue. i.e.when ever i click show properties link , all my properties (i mapped my properties to system tab) are visible but there is no upload button. and if i try navigating to the other tabs there is no navigation
no event is generating after clicking the show properties link
i tried uploading files directly without clicking show properties then its doing well but after i click show properties, no event
i have even tried creating a new metadata group and even if i click that tab no event
help me in resolving this
anyhelp will be rewarded

  • Adding Metadata to PDF Form

    Hi, I'm trying to add some metadata to a pdf. I have the follow script in the form initialize event:
    if (form1.desc.nodes.namedItem("metadata") == null) then
    var oNode=xfa.form.createNode("text", "metadata")
    form1.desc.nodes.append(oNode)
    endif
    I receive the error message:
    Argument mismatch in property or function argument
    I also tried this code:
    if (form1.desc.nodes.namedItem("metadata") == null) then
    var oNode=xfa.form.createNode("text", "metadata")
    oNode.value = "Test Data"
    form1.desc.nodes.append(oNode)
    endif
    Which gave me this error:
    accessor "oNode.value" is unknown
    It appears that the oNode object is not being created.
    Any suggesting how I can add Metadata to the PDF?

    Hi,
    This is the code I use to place metadata into the pdf file. If you open
    the resulting pdf file using Notepad, the metadata is visible as readable
    text in the file. I'm not sure the same approach can be used to add
    metadata as viewed under Document Properties. We are not using it that
    way. Maybe by changing the node name?
    if ((EMAIL_SUBJECT1.rawValue != "")&&(EMAIL_SUBJECT1.rawValue != null))
            var vDesc=xfa.template.data.desc;
            var oNode1=xfa.template.createNode("text", "EMAIL_SUBJECT1");
            vDesc.nodes.append(oNode1);
    vDesc.nodes.namedItem("EMAIL_SUBJECT1").value=EMAIL_SUBJECT1.rawValue;

    How did you get this to work? I
    I'm looking for a way to add/inject values (keywords) into the form's
    meta-data by retrieving the info/values from user input.
    To test the above solution, I added the following script to the initialize
    event as referenced, but I'm not sure what is happening:
    if (form1.desc.nodes.namedItem("metadata") == null)
    var oNode=xfa.form.createNode("text", "metadata")
    form1.desc.nodes.append(oNode)
    1. Do I need a field on the page?
    2. What part of the above script affects the meta-data?
    Thanks!

  • I have added metadata in Prelude. How can I see the text in Premiere?

    I have added metadata in Prelude. Now in Premiere, I can see the "speaker" but none of the text I added. How can I see the text in Premiere?

    Reason: More searchable title

    Both the Project and Metadata panels in Premiere Pro have a Metadata Display dialog that allows you to select which metadata properties are displayed. To access this dialog, right-click the panel's tab and select Metadata Display.

  • Adding metadata at import --why is this much easier to do in LR?

    Adding metadata at import time is a pain. The presets have helped a bit but Aperture still needs improvement. I have four areas of trouble:
    1. In order to fill out a metadata preset I have to create a new temporary image version or risk changing the metadata for an existing master, fill out the fields, save the preset, delete the temporary version. I can't create a new metadata preset at the moment of import I have to do the steps above in advance of importing.
    2. If i want to have a metadata view that has the 12 fields I use on import but only have 4 fields filled out in advance I can't do that without first selecting the preset then selecting the view with the blank fields.
    3. In the import panel the image Information block, Files Location/filename block and Time Adjustment block take up so much room that on my MBP-15 the metadata block is nearly off the bottom of the screen.
    4. Whatever metadata I use must apply to all images. There is no way to have different metadata for different images at the time of import. This requires me to open the project to add image specific metadata after import or run the import more than once for different images.
    If anyone has workflow solutions or workarounds for theses bottlenecks please let me know. Here is hoping that v2 will improve on these points.

    Sorry if I gave offense. I wasn't trying to start a flame war about Aperture vs. LR or whatever-that's not enlightening. I expect that for many years to come Aperture will be my primary digital imaging workspace.
    I am still tinkering with Lightroom and will do so until my demo version expires in 25 more days. I think that Aperture is a dramatically better program than Lightroom. I think that over the next couple of years the gap will widen even further and the advantages of Apple's sound engineering decisions will really start to show up in v2 v3 and beyond.
    Still when I work in the current version of Lightroom I find myself processing images more quickly and spend less time fiddling around with the program's UI than while working in Aperture. I have noticed other posts commenting on the same thing.
    If there are other users who like me love Aperture but find their work going faster in Lightroom doesn't it make sense for us to have a discussion with each other to find out...why?

  • Quicktime movies corrupted by adding metadata in Adobe CS3

    Recently I happened to switch from using Adobe CS2 to CS3 (don't ask me why, I know they're old versions).  I use Adobe Bridge to manage/organize my digital photos and movie files from my digital camera.  In CS2, whenever I attempted to select multiple files to annotate with metadata such as description, location, etc., the program would warn me that "some files" in the selection (i.e., the Quicktime .MOV files) could not contain metadata.  So I would click OK, continue to annotate the batch, and Bridge would simply exclude the .MOV files and only add the metadata to the photos.  When I started using Bridge CS3, I noticed that the warning dialogue box no longer came up.  At first I was pleased, and thought, Great, now it's OK to add metadata to my movies as well!  But not long after, I started noticing a problem where some of my .MOV files were no longer playable, even though they had been fine immediately after download.  Since I only add metadata to about a quarter of my files, it took me a while to see the pattern:  Adding metadata to the .MOV files does in fact corrupt them and make them unplayable in Quicktime.  CS3 was not doing me any favors by suppressing the old warning!  I knew the movies were fine since I had already played them before, but the moment they were assigned metadata, Quicktime refused to recognize the files.
    Now that I know the problem I am very vigilant about not adding metadata to movies anymore, of course, but I need to salvage the already corrupted movies, since some of them are precious to me, such as my daughter's birthday videos.  I have tried various workarounds such as attempting to convert them to another format with video conversion software, but the conversion software also can't recognize the files now.  The best luck I have had is that I can still play the movies using a program called VLC, so I know the essential data is not ruined, it's all still there.  And when I have tried a couple of diagnostic tools, they are able to extract the images and recognize the file -- but not able to restore it to its original form.  I have also tried deleting the metadata, in Bridge, but that doesn't help.  Does anyone know of a method or a program that can help me restore these as Quicktime files?  It appears that there are services out there that will charge a lot of money to repair corrupted files, but I really think this should not be so hard or expensive.  The integrity of the movies is still there, everything is intact, there's just been a line of code inserted somewhere that shouldn't be there I suppose.  I wish I could get in there and delete it myself.  It's great that VLC has no problem playing them, but as long as these are unusuable as Quicktime files, I can't send them to my family, upload them to video-sharing sites, etc.
    Thanks, anyone, for your help.

    I don't know how to fix what was already modified, but in Premiere Preferences, there is a box that is checked by default, something about "Write XMP data" or similar, you'll want to uncheck that.

  • Adding metadata in Prelude but Premiere Pro not retaining it after closing

    While in Prelude in CC, I'm adding metadata in the Dynamic Media list; i.e., Scene, Shot Name, Shot Number.... I save the clips after each update and send it over to Premiere Pro by highlighting all the clips.  It arrives in Premiere Pro with the info attached and visible on the clip and in the metadata.  I save Premiere Pro and Prelude and when i reopen Premiere Pro there's no information there anymore; it's there in Prelude when I reopen that.  Not sure what's happening.  I did save the metadata separately also.

    Hi Jenny,
    thank you for taking the time to reply.
    The media is from a Canon 7D  ( MVI_####.mov ) shot in full HD in

    as I'm answering this email i'm checking that project... and now it's there
    again in full.  I was missing metadata in the first 3 rows of data
    information.... Scene, Shot Name & Shot Number.  I used those three columns
    because that was the order in the metadata check list.
    This is on my Win 7 computer w an Nvidia quadro fx 3800 card and 8 gigs of
    ram.... I am still having some of the same issues as well on my Mac OS
    X.... 12 core... I'll need to check that again too.
    I'm not sure if this problem will be persisting... right now it's
    inconsistent.  will continue testing on both computers... not ready to put
    it into my workflow yet.

  • Adding metadata to my initial backup files

    I have a hard drive on my PC exclusively for image backup and I 'copy' all my pictures there automatically, when I first download them from the camera, using Adobe Bridge. In theory at least, this set should never be needed. All my subsequent processing takes place on the prime set in the 'C' drive, using Photoshop CS4. Short of completely overwriting and replacing all my backups, is there any easy way of just appending my keywords and rankings to all the untouched files on my second drive?
    Note.. All images retain their original ID numbers exactly as shot and I do not use Lightroom.
    Best regards,

    Hi RWSP and thanks,
    So...
    If I understand you correctly, with 'raw files' I can now select and copy (Ctrl+Drag&Drop) just, all the small hidden sidecar.xmp files, from my C drive over to my camera-raw backups on the second drive. This will non-destructively update everything, the keywords, ratings and the ARC processing data, without touching the raw files them selves in any way?
    But for .jpg's I will have to copy-and-replace things with the processed picture files in order to add the key words etc.? In effect overwriting my camera copies with the Photoshop-processed.jpg versions. ...
    Right.  You can copy the xmp sidecar files to your backup.  This will back up the keywords, ratings, acr edit data and (assuming no file name changes) will associate the metadata with the original unchanged raw file.*  SFAIK there is no way to have metadata for jpeg files written to sidecar files; so you're right: you would need to  backup your updated jpegs to preserve the metadata you applied.  But if you're shooting raw, would you have many jpegs files from camera?
    * Note:  The above applies for camera-native raw format files; may or may not be true for DNG native format camera raw files.  Since DNG is designed to be updated with added metadata, it may be that ratings and acr metadata would be written to the original dng files.

  • Adding metadata to master

    I'm having difficulty adding metadata to my master files.  I'm currently using referenced images.
    In Aperture I will add keywords, a caption and geo data to an image and then select Metadata > Write IPTC Metadata to Master...
    I look at the master via finder and it shows that the file has been modified.  When I open the picture in Picasa or iphoto, the caption is updated, but there are no keywords and the geo data is missing.  If I export a version of the file, and then open it in Picasa, the caption and geo data are correct, but there are still no keywords added.
    Any suggestions on where I'm going wrong?
    Thanks

    You can set a whole batch of files to "TV Show," but bring them into iTunes first. This is as easy to selecting the batch and running any kind of plug-in on them.
    Videos all go to the Movies category by default, but that's only temporary. Right after you drop them into your library, find them under Recently Added or Movies. Select them all, and press Ctrl-I to Get Info. Change the video kind to "TV Show." Now all of these files will appear in the TV library, but of course you'll have to fill in the series name and season. Those can also be filled in as a batch.

  • Adding Metadata to folders/ Searching Drive for Keywords not just one folder -  Bridge CC 2014

    Hello Adobe world,
    I'm trying to add Metadata to folders not the files. The files in the folders already have metadata and in one folder we have 360 images of the same thing. When I do a keyword search I don't want to go though 20+ sets of 360 duplicate files. I need to do keyword searching for folders. When I have tried adding keywords to the folders I get "the file cannot store xmp metadata" warning. I tried clearing the cache on the file because it said that would help in another forum but it did not help. Does any one know how to fix this? I don't know why we could not assign descriptions or keywords to folders. It would be very useful!!  Some one please help!
    as of 2/24/2015 -  This is still unanswered. I want to be able to find files throughout my whole drive based on the metadata tags I put on all my 100,000+ images. These 100,000+ images are dispersed thought out multiple folders. I need to be able to find all the files with specific Metadata tags in common but bridge will not let me search outside of one defined folder? HELP!

  • Adding metadata to Targa files

    I'm trying to add custom data to a .tga file. This doesn't need to be standard EXIF information - this is custom data that I would read with a custom tool. Currently all I'm trying to add is a file path.
    Usually, I would just add this using File Info, but with Targa files, information I add using File Info is not saved to the file (which is a bug in my opinion - I'll go look for a place to report that after I post this).
    I haven't messed with the Advanced section of File Info much. The only thing I know how to do with that is to create .XMP sidecar files. Maybe I'm missing something there.
    As far as I can tell, the Targa file format supports a 256-byte "Image Identification Field" as well as unlimited user data at the end of the file, so it should be possible to add any data I want to a Targa with the right tool.
    Does anyone know a plugin or technique that will allow me to add metadata to my targas?
    I'm using CS2, although we have several versions here at work so I'd be happy to learn of a way to do it in CS3 too.

  • Adding metadata with Lr3.4.1 and OS x Lion

    I am just converting from PC to iMac and am having a problem with adding/updating keywords, titles, captions
    If I select several photos in the library filmstrip and then add titles, keywords etc.  only one of the photos selected gets updated.
    I have to repeat the requirement for each photo individually.
    Is this a known issue - or is some extra "activate" command needed?

    You must be in Library Grid view mode, not Loupe view, otherwise metadata is only applied to to the most selected photo (i.e. photo in preview window)

  • Adding metadata to a book upon export as a pdf file

    I have a collection of files that I'm exporting from Indesign (CS2) to the pdf format as a book.  I want to add metadata.  The files are exported to pdf with no changes allowed.  Therefore, meta data cannot be added to the pdf file using Acrobat>File>Document Properties>Description after the pdf file's creation.  Anyone know how to accomplish this?

    At least with ID versions through CS4, if you use ID's Book feature to export a set of ID files into a single PDF, the PDF picks up the metadata from the first file in the set: the metadata for other files does not make it into the PDF.  If you need individual files to carry unique metadata then you may want to look into PDF Portfolios -- though I guess those came in with Acrobat 8, meaning after CS2.  One day we're supposed to get full object-level metadata for different things in a PDF, though perhaps a chunk of PDF pages -- a chapter in a book, for example -- still may not qualify as an "object."
    The metadata categories availble through the standard ID interface are pretty limited, and heavily biased towards photography.  As I mention in a comment in Bob's ID Secrets blog entry, Adobe makes available a versions of the XMP FileInfo SDK for various versions of ID that allow you to add additional categories (such as PRISM, for magazine articles).
    Good luck!

  • Correcting metadata or adding metadata to scans

    Okay, I'm not a youngster. <grin>
    I've got a large collection of slides, some scanned and some to be scanned. I'd like to change the metadata to reflect the camera and possibly lens that took the picture.
    Is there any way of doing that, beyond adding a comment? I've not been able to find one.
    Thanks for your help. ...Doug
    Aperture 3.1, iMac i7 with snow leopard.

    Don't believe there is anyway to do this in Aperture (at least out of the box). Aperture isn't really an EXIF editor.
    There are a couple of options you could look into one. The simplest is to get an EXIF editor and put the information you want into the scanned images before importing into Aperture. There are many EXIF editors out there free and not free just google *EXIF editor* . One thing to keep in mind the editor you get needs to have the ability to run in batch mode or else you're going to be typing in the same data over and over again.
    It should also be possible to do this within Aperture with an Applescript but I'nm not aware of any that are out there, maybe someone else will be.
    Hope this helps as one geezer to another
