Adding more Mimetypes for TREX indexing

Hi,
we are using TREX for indexing DMS-Documents. We need to index some more filetypes (like *.msg-Files).
I read in some postings that these settings can be done in portal-settings. But we are not connected to portal with this trex-server.
How can i add more mimetypes without portal?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Lorcan,
i allready added these rows to TREXValidMimeTypes.ini through TREX-Admintool:
application/vnd.ms-outlook
message/rfc822
After that i restartet the preprocessor service again through TREX-Admintool.
Then i started reindexing by using transaction SKPR07:
Button Re-Index for document Class DMS_PCD1, DocArea DMS and the valid Index category
==> Still can not search in Content of MSG-Files. Even when searching by Filname ("msg") no results!
Tried also to launch Program RSTIRIDX in se38 after restarting TREX ==> again same result
Am i doing something wrong?

  • Java Flush Queue for TREX index - How to

    Hi,
    I have an IIndex instance. I've added a document to the index using indexDocument(IResource resource).
    How can I programmatically get the queue for the IIndex instance & do a flush on that queue?
    Thanks,
    Jeroen

    See method flush() here : AbstractIndex
    //Your index ...
    IIndex idx =...
    //Set the index active before adding the document, flush afterwards
    //Sets an index inactive or activates it
    idx.setActive(true);
    //Puts a document into the index - note : the document is added to the queue with a small delay, while the flush is performed immediately
    idx.indexDocument(res);
    //Cast to AbstractIndex
    AbstractIndex k = (AbstractIndex)idx;
    //Flush the queue
    k.flush();

  • Adding more VLANs for mapping for an H-REAP AP

    Why can't I add more locally switched VLANs to the VLAN mapping table of an H-REAP AP... I have a total of 3 but as I understand it I can have a maximum of 8 locally switch H-REAP VLANs...
    What abd

      <Cisco AP>     Enter the name of the Cisco AP.
      (Cisco Controller) config>ap h-REAP vlan wlan 4 703 tradefloorAP1
      Invalid parameter specified.

    Where am I going wrong- could have couple of pointers please?

    Hello Adrian,
    The VLAN mapping is not taking hold because that AP is currently not servicing WLAN 4 (from the screenshot). Is this AP part of an ap group? If so, have you added wlan 4 to that AP group configuration?
    If the AP is in the default-group, then it should be servicing wlan 4...
    What version of WLC code and model of AP are in use?

    Hi all,
    can a installation of the TREX on the Portal-Server (or as separate Server) used for Portal Index/search and also in parallel for searching of Content in an SAP Records Management (means full text research of records/ dossier in the SAP RM) ? Some ideas, tips or settings to keep in mind ?

    Hi Neil,
    We have exactly the same problem. We installed a new SAP E-Commerce system on Microsoft Windws 2008 R2 with TREX Version 7.10.43.00. The TREX connection is okay. Also the catalogue replication works without any problems. The SAP support means it is a permission problem on the IIS. The problem isnu2019t solved yet and the message to the SAP support is in process.

  • How to create new INDEX for TREX

    Hello Experts,
    Iam new to this KM and TREX so need ur guidance for this...
    I need to create an INDEX for TREX, so after going through various messages i found that it can be created form the Index Administration iView portal----System Administration -> Syetm Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Index Administration -> New Index
    But iam not getting the above path in SPRO OR how to run Index Administration iView OR from which portal i need to create an INDEX??can anyone provide steps on how to go to System Administration -> Syetm Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Index Administration -> New Index
    path.....
    Regards.

    I'm not very familiar with CRM business partners, but the common way - to include the repository where the documents are stored to the KM using [CM Repository managers|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e3/923227b24e11d5993800508b6b8b11/frameset.htm].
    You need first to create a repository manager for you repository and only then you'll be able to create an index.

  • Same TREX server for KM indexing and e-Recruitment

    Hi,
    Is it possible to use the same TREX server for KM indexing on the portal and e-Recruiting searches on R/3?
    Many thanks
    Jane

    Hi,
    in general and from a technical view it's possible.
    But it depends on the load of the applications, perhaps it's a better approach to separate them e.g. for a productive environment.

    Hi there,
    I just read this thread, and maybe someone here can answer my current trex question:
    I have created an ordinary CM repository, and created an index with this repository as source. Now the problem: I would like to exclude files in the repository with specific mimetypes from the TREX indexing process.
    I have verified that the TrexValidMimetypes.ini does not contain any reference to the Mimetypes I'm creating, but never the less, the document titles are searchable and are returned when searching.
    How do I get around this issue?
    Is it possible in NW04 or EP6.0 SP3 PXXX??

  • Adding more than 2Gb RAM to MacBook Pro

    Do you guys know of any way to put more than 2Gb RAM in an Intel 17" MacBook Pro?
    Model Name: MacBook Pro 17"
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,2
    Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MBP12.0061.B03
    SMC Version: 1.5f10
    I bought this when the 17" models first came out, and have been disappointed in it ever since (I broke my rule of NOT buying the first generation of something). As time has passed, the main problem is the 2Gb limit for RAM. That's NOWHERE near enough, and shame on Apple for that limitation. If there were some way, even a non-standard way, of adding more RAM, I could get reasonable performance from this computer. As it is, this has been a wasted $3600 investment. whew!
    Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! Feel free to email bruce at dbsdesigngroup.com

    That's possible...actually likely. I'd love for that to be the case because I could fix it. ::Grin:: It's been this way since I first got it. When it arrived with just 1 Gb RAM, it was virtually unusable. I have a few apps as startup items, but they're just Firefox, Entourage, iNotepad, Linotype Font Explorer (with very few fonts activated), and Stickies. That shouldn't affect things much.
    My needs are to use Photoshop, Illustrator and GoLive at the same time, with MSWord, Firefox and Entourage open as well. After the first bit of usage, I end up with 4-6 pageouts and a VERY slow computer. While it's doing the pageouts (which take quite a while), or switching between apps, it's very slow. And it's also extremly slow when Spotlight is indexing, so I disabled that.
    I'm just not sure what it might be...nothing in Activity Monitor seems like it would be a culprit. Even in Safe Mode the problem is very evident.
    I'll keep exploring and hopefully find something that will make this machine more viable for my use. I really appreciate the input greatly.

  • VBA script for automatically indexing topics

    A big disadvantage with InDesign's indexing system is that you cannot automatically index all occurences of topics currently in the index.
    Instead, you have to find an occurence of each topic in the document itself and go to the Index menus and then click New Page Reference...Add All, for each index topic individually.
    To get around this, I have been trying to produce a VBA script to automatically index all occurrences in a document of the topics currently in the document index.
    I have been using the MS Excel VBA development environment but find the definitions of the object model in the Excel VBA browser rather inadequate and ambiguous .
    Is there a more thorough reference work for these?
    The plan was to start by taking each individual topic in the index which I tried to access with something along the lines of:
    MyDocument.Index.Topic(1)
    This hasn't worked.
    The plan then was to take each index topic and use it to find an occurence in the document of that topic and then use that occurence to invoke the New Page Reference...Add All option to index all occcurences of that selected term, using something like:
    MyDocument.PageReferences.Add
    Again, without success.
    Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Dear Peter,
    Many thanks for your posting, that was very helpful.
    This is the state of the script so far (I have added a large number of MsgBox entries - these aren't needed, they are just for debugging purposes during development):
    'VBA script which tries to work through all of the topics in the index and automatically index each occurence of them in the current text frame:
    main
    Function main()
    Set MyInDesign = CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS4")
    If MyInDesign.Documents.Count > 0 Then
        Set MyDocument = MyInDesign.ActiveDocument
        Set MyPage = MyDocument.Pages.Item(1)
        Set MyTextFrame = MyPage.TextFrames.Item(1)
        Set MyStory = MyTextFrame.ParentStory
        Set MyIndex = MyDocument.Indexes(1)
        Set MyTopics = MyIndex.AllTopics
        MyIndexesCount = MyDocument.Indexes.Count
        MsgBox "Current indexes Count: " & MyIndexesCount
        MyIndexTopicsCount = MyTopics.Count
        MsgBox "Current index topics Count: " & MyIndexTopicsCount
        For i = 1 To MyTopics.Count Step 1 'work through the topics
    MyIndexTerm=MyTopics(i)
    MsgBox "Current indexes Topic: " & MyIndexTerm
    'search for MyIndexTerm :
            'Clear Find preferences:
            MyInDesign.FindTextPreferences = idNothingEnum.idNothing
            'Set up search paramaters:
            If MyIndexTerm <> "" Then
                MyInDesign.FindTextPreferences.FindWhat = MyIndexTerm
                'Set search options:
                MyInDesign.FindChangeTextOptions.CaseSensitive = False
                MyInDesign.FindChangeTextOptions.IncludeFootnotes = False
                MyInDesign.FindChangeTextOptions.IncludeHiddenLayers = False
                MyInDesign.FindChangeTextOptions.IncludeLockedLayersForFind = False
                MyInDesign.FindChangeTextOptions.IncludeLockedStoriesForFind = False
                MyInDesign.FindChangeTextOptions.IncludeMasterPages = False
                MyInDesign.FindChangeTextOptions.WholeWord = False
                'Search for the string:
                Set MyFoundItems = MyDocument.FindText 'this ought to be limited to the Story, not the Document eg MyStory
             MsgBox "Found index terms:" & MyFoundItems.Count
                For j = MyFoundItems.Count To 1 Step -1
                   MyTopics(i).PageReferences.Add MyFoundItems(j)
                Next
               'Clear preference:
                MyInDesign.FindTextPreferences = idNothingEnum.idNothing
                'Having found it, add page reference:
             'MyDocument.PageReferences.Add
            Else
                MsgBox "No search term specified"
            End If
    Response=MsgBox ("Continue?", vbYesNo)
    If Response = vbNo then
      Exit For
    End If
       Next
    'Set up Index options:
    MyIndex.IndexOptions.Title = "Index"
    MyIndex.IndexOptions(1).TitleStyle="Chapter Head"
    MyIndex.IndexOptions(1).ReplaceExistingIndex = True
    'Generate the index:
    MyIndex.Generate
    Else
        MsgBox ("Please open a document, select an object, and try again.")
    End If
    End Function
    There are a couple of problem areas still:
    1. Index terms appear to be added irrespective of whether or not that particular page reference already exists in the index.
    This can result in duplicate page references under each topic - especially if the script is run several times.
    Is there any way of avoiding these duplicate references?
    2. I haven't yet suceeded in getting the script to generate the index - so far I've had to do it manually after the script has run.
    The problem lies somewhere in the code to set up the index options and then generate the index.
    3. It might be useful to be able to limit the indexing to the curent story rather than the whole document - but I haven't yet got it to do that.
    Best wishes.

  • Sharing TREX indexes between portal instances

    Hi people,
    We created several TREX search indexes in our development portal and we need to reuse them in our productive environment.
    As I read in Migrating Content, changing namespace I understand that the indexes cannot be transported between portal instances.
    My question is: Is there any way to access existing TREX indexes in new portal instances ?
    Thanks

    Hi Daniel,
    of course you can use the same TREX server from two different portals.
    I assume though, that the issue will be, that the resource IDs and subsequently access URLs will not be the same on the two portals. Or that, for other reasons, you will not be able to ensure abolute synchronicity of KM content in the two portals.
    => Cannot use same index for not exactly same content...
    Regards, Karsten
    PS: In this rough context, please also have a look at the linked thread and at the text below, concerning TREX use by totally different apps.
    TRex index_service
    When running several solutions against one TREX, currently you, in the project, have to ensure the following:
    - availability of a TREX Server release that is compatible to all the respective solution releases (check the PPMS or PAM entries of DMS, EP, SRM, etc.)
    - adequate sizing (see above link to distributed systems)
    - maintenance of the proper TREX address in all solutions
    AND MOST IMPORTATNTLY:
    Although TREX does offer index namespaces, most solutions do not address that yet and create indexes in one common directory on the TREX Server.
    Thus, if more than one of the solutions creates technical index names on the TREX Server that are likely to reoccur (e.g. "Test" is created on TREX Server with that directory name, rather than with some techID as directory name), you have to educate the future administrators/powerusers of the project to create only indexes that follow a naming conventiont to avoid index name conflicts (e.g. start all index names with solution prefix "DMS_...", "xRPM_...")
    Note:
    Using one TREX instance instead of several only provides "IT-side integration". It does not produce an information integration. Each solution will only search in its own indexes.
    An enterprise search over KM, ERP, BI and more will be offered with the SAP NetWeaver release <b>after</b> 2004s.

  • Sap.m.Table generating first two blank rows after adding more rows.

    Hi everyone,
                          I am stucked in a very bad condition the problem is with the table rows and columns. I am generating dynamic table columns and rows based on searched unit so whenever i am searching i created a function for initializing the table rows and columns i am looping the array for whatever the size of rows and columns it will display up to 5. My issue is with the request going is adding more times then the required one. So if anyone can check for the solution. Only problem is my data is generated correct but next time i call this method again it is hiding the first 2 rows.

    No, even with the select box gone the table still doesn't show the last two rows, so this seems indeed be irrelevant to the question.

    ***update***
    I tried to create a simple case in which the same strange behavior occurs but I can't seem to reproduce it. The table that produces the two blank rows is part of a complex application and I tried to extract enough of it for a simple test case that behaves the same way but I can't manage to do that. I guess that once I have the behavior I will also know what causes it.
    It seems that the iterator is set to rangesize 10 but the table rests on rangesize 12, when I looked at other tables in the application it seems that if I want to set the rangesize from 57 to 50, it remains on 57.
    Can anyone help me with either this limited info or otherwise instruct me to get more info ?
    Best Regards,
    S.

  • TREX "Index does not exist" in TrexQueueServerAlert.trc

    Hi Portal Gurus
    We have installed EP 6 SP9 + KM/CM, then upgraded to SP16, and installed TREX 6.1 with Patch 27 all on AIX 5.3. I cannot get the indexing to work, I get green lights for the index monitor and the crawler monitor finds the index but no documents are indexed ie. all fields 0's. I have the following error in the TrexQueueServerAlert.trc file:
    CLIENT_TRACE TRexApiAdmin.cpp(04615) : TNS: getServer failed for index 'adrienne_test', function: 'getAttributeList'
    CLIENT_TRACE TRexApiAdmin.cpp(04695) : Index does not exist;index=adrienne_test : return code: 2007
    I also get the following error in the TrexIndexServer.Alert:
    TrexNet      Channel.cpp(00222) : ERROR: reading from 3 <my.ip.num.here:30001> failed with rc=14 (connection broken)
    TrexNet      Channel.cpp(00222) : ERROR: reading from 3 <my.ip.num.here:30001> failed with rc=14 (connection broken)

    id=myhostname:30003.116748...
    I have seen other threads for the above error that involves assigning the CM System for the TaskQueueReader which I have done but this has not solved the problem.
    Points rewarded for answer that solves this issue.
    Thanks

    Hi Adrienne,
    One more suggestion..
    Trying to deactivate the Index management service and activating it back.
    Steps:
    1. Go to System Admin - system Config - KM - Global Services
    2.Activate the "advanced mode" from the top level menu
    3. Find "Index Management Service" and go inside.
    4. Edit the same and remove the tick mark from "Active" field.
    5. To view the change,Restart the J2ee engine. Now you Index management service in "inactive".
    6. Check the Index Management Service. ( if available, it shouldnt)
    7. Now activate the index management service again by placing the "tick mark" in the "Active " field and restart the entire service (j2ee,db, trex)
    8. Now go the "Index Managment" and delete old indexes and its references.
    9. Try creating a new index with a new data source.
    10. Now it should work.
    Regards,
    venkat.

  • Activate Change pointers for TREX classification search for Business Objects

    Hey all...
    Does anyone out here has any idea on how to activate the change pointers for TREX classification search for business objects: - for me I am specifically doing it for Materials and Customers.
    Okay, let me explain the issue: -
    For TREX search, we need to schedule a background job for Delta Indexing. But Alas! Delta indexing does not capture the changes to Classification data of the business object.
    For this we activated the change documents for the particular class in the customizing. But to my surprise, change documents and change pointers for TREX are entrirely different.
    How do I know:
    Change ID of CDHDR does not correspond to Change pointer in table COM_SE_CPOINTER. Now by activating the change documents I am getting entry in CDHDR and CDPOS but the mentioned change pointer table still does not get the entry.
    I searched for BTEs and I got the below: -
    Now to me the very obvious one was 4003, but it is not called while changing the classification data for materials. Ofcourse I activated the Product and the function module.
    and now I am stuck!!
    Any pointers for the Change pointers would be really appreciated??
    Please share your knowledge even if you don't know the exact answer . I am new to TREX so possibly vague conversations could provide me a hint .
    Thanks,
    Best Regards,
    Shreya

    Hi Guys,
    This issue was solved by implementing the BTE 4005 (OPEN_FI_PERFORM_00004005_E). This particular event is triggered in the update task for saving changes to business object. So In my function module (corresponding to BTE), I have explicitly called the method to write an entry in COM_SE_CPOINTER, because we just need the reference of business object for which classification data is changed.
    Please refer the below code for more clarity.
    BTE position: -
    method called in FM to write change pointer.
    Thanks anyways, for all the responses.
    Cheers,
    Shreya
