Addition of custom links on Project Details screen to update Project

Hi,
I request help to implement a customization in Ms Project Server 2010. I would like to add a custom link on lefthand side menu of Project Details page. The link would display a page with key fields. On entering information in the fields and clicking Submit,
a custom code that triggers MS SharePoint 2010 workflow should be triggered.
The user triggering the workflow will only have read access to the Project. I would like to get technical information and code snippets to implement the requirement. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

I'm not a developer thus I'll let other folks jump in but I'd have 2 comments:
If the user triggering the workflow needs to enter values in custom fields and do kind of a save operation as per your description, he cannot have only read access to the project. He needs a read-write access.
Note that folks on this forum kindly give on their spare time to help the community about concerns, questions and issues on Project. What you are asking for looks like more to a consultation request (due to the fact that you are not yet facing any issues
since you haven't even started working on it), meaning what we do in our daily job (and are paid for). Hope some colleagues can anyway give you some tracks to start.

Custom development for Address details screen

Hi Experts,
In the ESS screen, we have to provide one link for every employee. When the user will click on the link, one letter in PDF format should be displayed to the user. This PDF will act as a "Address Certificate". The address certificate will contain information related with name, address, passport details etc. How we can achieve this?
In my view, we will have to create one Z-RFC. The ABAPer will create the Z-RFC. Now the input for the Z RFC will be employee no. The output will be Name, Address and Passport details.
The information provided in table format needs to be converted into PDF form. How we can do so? What all services needs to be activated for this?

In SQ02 create info-set. You need table. Choose Table join... (Table LFA1).
ThanDrag and drop requared fields from left to right(to field gruop).
You can use button Join to join some more tables(LFB1 etc)
Save it and generate.
After that go SQ01,enter name of query and click Create, while doing it select Created infoset.Save...
Than choose buton InfosetQuery and select which fields do you want in selection and output list.
Than go QUERY-MORE function-Generate program. Mantion this name.

Link for Details screen

Hi!
I wonder why the link for the details screen of documents ans folders is only visible for users which have write permissions to these folders and documents. In my opinion every user who has read permissions should have the possibility to look at the details screen.
Can anyone explain this?
We are talking about KM in a NW2004s SPS10 installation on Windows 64bit.

By standard, the details screen is visible to all users with read access. There must have been a change in your portal to disable this.
If you are using a non-standard layoutset, make sure you haven't removed the standard details command from the comand group.
It might also be worth checking that your layoutset is using the standard "commands for details menu".
If you check all of these, then you should be able to narrow down where the problem lies.

Adding custom link to UWL

Hello Experts,
I want to add a custom link to the UWL screen (near the 'Refresh' button in the attached picture).

I opened the xml file and added the following lines in 'Actions' part of the 'DefaultView' view

but I can't see the link.
My portal version is 7.01 SP7.
What do I need to do in order to see the link?

Dear All
In HumanTasks Workflow, On task details page, I want to add a custom link or button. Clicking on this link or button, should load a different task details page.
The exact business usecase is like this:
1. We have some human tasks with very detailed payload like about 100 attributes. When the task is submitted for Approval, we send notification emails. These emails shows the Task Details with all these 100 attributes along with standard Approve, Reject buttons etc. NOW in addition to this, we want to add extra custom button/link like Custom View. When we click on this buton or link, it should replace the task details page with the Custom task details page contents. The reason is most of the managers/approvers access their emails on smart phones like iphones. So in these phones, seeing full task details (100 attributes) is very tedious. So we want to provide a simplified view of same task with very minimum attributes like about 10 with Approve, Reject buttons. Now this compact view details will have a button called Detailed View on click on which it loads details page.
So we want to have 2 pages for a task:
taskDetails1.jspx -> Has all 100 attributes with a custom button/link called "Compact View". Click on Compact View switch to below page.
taskCompact1.jspx -> Has only 10 attributes with a custom button/link called "Detailed View". Click on Detailed View switch to above page.
1. I tried implementing this using the VacationRequest sample where the payload is like creator, startdate, enddate, reason. I already have taskDetails1.jspx page, which shows this information in the email body.
2. I want to add another button to taskDetails1.jspx so that when I click on it, I want to load a different page like taskCompact.jspx which has only say creator, reason.
I already added a link and gave the url with parameters like taskId, taskContext etc which I got from bindings, but nothing is displayed when I click on custom button. The taskId, context values are comming correctly in the url.
So bottom line, what is the URL that I can provide in the task details page, to load a different task details page contents. I want to pass other taskdetails jsp details.
Please let me know, if there is any other approach to implement this usecase.

Hi,
I am not sure if you can add your own custom buttons to the application tool bar because your table control is in a sub screen area in a standard screen so the menu area would be controlled by the standard screen and not the subscreen , but along side the table control you can give buttons for scrolling and handle the same in the subscreen if you check the FM EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_002 it has a variable IM_UCOMM which would have the ucomm set in the subscreen so here you can handle your user command to scroll on the table control.

But in this link while you are at the 11th step
select your required view.
and do the rest as usual.
This is at the configuration level u can add your customer fields.
I dont think there are any exits available that can fulfill your requirement as the same requirement is fulfilled at the customization level.

Business requirement is the new field should display the list entry in Infotype 2001 for the calendar year as selection option for employee. they would like to know ITEL subtype claim,
Example.employee no: EE#9941
As per screen shot you may see for EE#9941 there are 2 Leave requests.
So in the leave details the selection drop down menu option or any other way should be display 2 lines.

Custom property not displaying at folder creation or Details screen

Hello everyone
I have created a custom boolean property that I need to have displayed both at folder creation and in the Details screen of a folder after it's created. The property is in the default namespace, and is in the Custom group. I have created a properties file for the label and created the necessary meta data extension. The folder validity pattern is " / " and the Resource Type listed is "normalct" so that it's active for folders only.
Then I went to Property Groups and listed my new property in the Group Items field of the Custom group. The Custom group is a part of "all_groups" so that group is displayed both when a new folder is created in KM and when the Details screen of a folder is displayed.
However, my custom property isn't displaying under the Custom tab when I go to create a new KM folder, nor when I view the Details screen of an existing folder. What configuration am I missing? Do I have to develop a custom property renderer for each new property I need to create? I was hoping I could achieve this result with configuration changes only, but I must be missing something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded.

Hi Fallon,
actualy, if you want this property to be displayed only for folders and not for documents, you don't need to specify the resource type for folders. Setting "/" or "/**" for "Folder Validity Patterns" and "" (empty) for "Document Validity Patterns" should be enough.
If you sill experience problems, you have to check all settings, for example with the settings suggested in this <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2654">weblog</a>. If you use the "default" Property Group in the property settings, you don't have to enter the Property ID in a special Property Structure Group that in turn is integrated in the all_groups Property Structure Group.

Generally all standard object screens are included in function group CV130, which could be displayed in transaction SE80.
For BOM header the object is 'STKO_DOC' and for BOM item it is 'STPO_DOC'. The screen are the following:
STKO_DOC: 0258
STPO_DOC: 0257
Regarding the routing link I think document could only be used in routings but not linked. So the document have to be added directly in the routing itself. Maybe note 372499 could be useful for this issue.

Adding new fields in Item details screen in VA01 tcode

Hi all,
My requirement is to add custom fields in 'Additional Data B' tab of VA01 transaction.
That is, after entering the material and quantity, if i double click tat material, it goes to item details screen. In taht, 'Additional data B' tab is there with no fields.
Now i want to add fields in that.. Is it possible?
Is there any exit for adding custom fields under that tab?

The process for Additional Data B, whether header or item level, is simple...
First, add the data elements to VBAK (header) or VBAP (item), in a customizing append. The accepted practice is to name your fields beginning ZZ, with the appropriate or custom data element/domain.
Then on Additional Data B screens, already named in this thread, create whatever is needed. For instance, you might want to add a subscreen that contains a group of fields with the DDIC-specific captions.
If you simply need a field, you can place the field (like VBAK-ZZMYFIELD). SAP will then manage updates to the database for you....no need to do anything to see that the data gets copied into the tables.
In one instance, I saw a pushbutton added that resulted in calls to screens with table controls, etc., essentially an entire subsystem called by pressing that button....

Problem with primary key violation in master-detail screens

Hi,
I found a problem/bug in master-detail screens in which the PK of the detail table consist of the PK of the master table and an additional column. E.g. a manually entered sequence 'in parent'.
I will use the following simple scenario to explain the problem (it's easy to reproduce):
PROJECT table
# id (PK)
* name
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS table
# prj_id (PK)
# sequence_id (PK)
* description
Just create the BC EO, VO and AM and set both display properties of the prj_id attribute of the project requirements VO to hidden.
Create a new screen in the application structure file in which you can select a project (table-form layout) and display the details (table layout) on the same page.
With this basic setup you can generate the app to enter, update and delete projects and their requirements.
The problem occurs if you have a project with a least 1 requirements stored in the database and you try to enter a second requirement with an existing sequence_id within the project. This is an use case in which a end-user enters wrong data.
So assume we have in the database:
prj_id sequence_id description
====== =========== ===========
1 1 req1
and the end-user enters (prj_id is entered automatically as it's not displayed):
1 1 req2 >> user should have enterd sequence_id 2...
Step 1. If you try to save an error will be displayed:
JBO-25013: Too many objects match the primary key oracle.jbo.Key[227300 1 ].
And the sequnece_id is emptied automatically.
Step 2. So the end-user re-enters the sequence_id but fills in 2 now and saves.
Another error is displayed: JBO-27014 sequence_id in AppModule is required
How strange? Everything is filled in already.
Step 3. If you just hit save again (without changing anything) you got a transaction completed successfully.
I checked the logfiles and noticed an exception during after executing step 2.

This also explains why I got a error message within the application at step 2, but not an expected error message!
From the logfile I can see something is going wrong in the oracle.jbo.server.EntityImpl.validateEntity method.
To get more insight what was goning on I overridden the validateEntity method in my VO Impl class:

In step 1 the validateEntity is not called.
In step 2 the sequeceId = null (and description = reg2)
I expected the sequeceId to be 2 now as I entered this. Furthermore if I look at the (JhsActionServlet) request parameters in the log, I can see that the value of the sequenceId was 2. I guess something is going wrong at this point in converting the request parametes to the EO.
In step 3 the sequeceId = 2 (as expected)
Note that I'm using the evaluation copy version of JHeadstart 10.1.2.
If this was patched in any later build, could you please tell which changes I have to make to the JHS sources to solve this problem.

I cannot reproduce this in version 10.1.2.2. We did not "fix" this, although changes in the runtime might have fixed this "silently". I suggest you upgrade to 10.1.2.2 and see whether you still get the error.

Add extra link to Go Shopping screen

SRM 4.0, server 5.0, standalone ITS.
Is there an easy way to add an extra transaction/link to the basic screen of SRM? I am thinking the template
bbpstart/99/bbpglobal_650.html
This is for example the first screen in my SRM, and I also need the function "Process Purchase order" to appear on this screen along with Go Shopping, Goods Receipt, Status etc.
Is the only way to do this by changing the web template through SE80?

you can create a class that extends AbstractResourceDetailsProperties and renders a metadata property, similiar to the standard ModifiedDetailsProperty, for example, that renders the Modified Property.
