Additional Question on SM30

Hello Everyone!
I just have an additonal question regarding SM30, will it be possible to sort the materials? and to unblocked the find function so that I could possible find a specified material?
Any help is really appreciated.

Hi
There is no FIND functionality supported in View Maintenance (SM30). You can use the 'Enter Conditions' option in the intial screen, or the Selections -> By Contents option to restrict entries.
Further, you can use the Position button.
All of them strictly follow a patter search, with literal values. Wildcard entries will not work.

Additional question: How can I fix the refreshment settings, so that my browser doesn't destroy entered form information?

In addition to the question below, another problem is not only are my email responses erased when the browser refreshes, the message itself is no longer available. I have to start from the beginning point in my email list, rather than remain on the once-opened email.
By the way, I have reset and restored my Firefox as a solution, which didn't help. I did this twice, following instructions. The process was tedious and I had to recover quite a bit of information, not to mention a problem with merged bookmarks. I'd like to avoid this solution, at all costs. Here's what I said earlier. Again, thanks for any/all help you can provide.
For the past several weeks, now, I've noticed that my browser "refreshes" the feed more frequently, so frequently, in fact, that any emails, forms, or survey questions that I am answering get wiped clean. This started happening with the latest update. I am unable to locate any setting in my preferences that will stop the constant refreshment (reload? page update?). This is also frustrating when trying to make purchases on line, and as I said, write emails, complete forms, complete surveys, etc.

A few moments ago I tried to type an elaborate message and commended your site here for sitting still long enough for me to enter my message without being devoured by the “refresh feed.” Unfortunately, the page refreshed and wiped away my brilliant response to your questions. I will try to answer more briefly, and will cut and paste my reply. I pray that I don’t have to do this repeatedly. Here goes:
1. I used the term “refresh feed” because that was the only way I knew to describe it. For example, the ads change regularly in the NYT Online. I do subscribe to that. The pop-up alert has been coming far more frequently than before, and the ads are coming far more frequently than before. I see a correspondence between the refreshed ads and the change in the webpage. This is why I called the problem “refresh feed.” By the way, I have my pop-up block set to block.
2. I use Desire to Learn (D2L). I don’t subscribe, per se, but it is a password-protected site I have to use for my work. Within D2L, when I try to compose a message or respond to a question, what I write is immediately erased when the page refreshes, which is quite frequently. I am forced to compose on another program, as I’m doing now, and pray that I can paste my message in before I lose the entire email; I have to reenter the “to, from, subject, message,” and so on. I’ve had to do this over and over and over and over for just one message.
3. The issue happens when I use Outlook online. At least there I get a question asking if I really want to leave the page. Of course, I don’t because I’m still composing my message. I’ve taken to saving the messages frequently. I can’t do that in the D2L app.
4. This issue happens when I am just browsing a webpage for which I have no affiliation. The page will refresh and I find I’m back at the beginning of the initial page, or the beginning of an article I’m reading (if I’m lucky) or series of photographs or whatever. My place is lost. I often have to start all over again. It’s as if I’ve never been there.
5. This issue happens when I’m trying to make purchases. It happens immediately when I enter personal data. It’s as if I’ve not entered anything. I only use trusted sites. I’ve run my Internet security software and have checked for viruses. All is well there, at least I hope so.

HT201303 Using account on new device, asking additional questions

Trying to purchase apps on a new device, it is prompting me for additional security questions and I gave no idea what the answers are. I have never set these up. How do I know what the answers are? Can't find the answer in account settings or on line support. Thanks.

What do you mean by register your device? If you are already using the iPad, it is registered. If you are not getting the "None" option, I cannot explain that.
I live in the U.S. I have the "None" option if I go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID, tap my ID, tap View Apple ID then tap Payment Information. I can also change my credit card in that screen. You don't deselect the credit card, you select the None option.
You do not have to use the card if you can't remove it. Just continue to buy gift cards and use them. Another you way that you may be able to get the "None" option is to make the change in iTunes on a computer, rather than trying to do it on the iPad.

Issue with reporting and additional question

Hello,
1st Question:
I have ran into an issue with the interal server reporting.
If the file is published as an html file, then the reporting works as intended
(Able to see with Quiz Analyzer due to it creating an xml file in the appropriate folder)
However, if I publish the file as a swf file, the reporting does not seem to be working at all.
Does this mean that swf reporting is not supported with the internal server? or?
2nd Question
When reporting likert, as expected the quiz analyzer makes it so that we have go into each individual person to see their inputs.
With that I am able to export it as an excel file for each individual person.
However, is there a way to mass export all the individual responses as 1 excel file with the quiz analyzer?
(Would it be better using Adobe Connect for reporting, or other lms systems?)

Quick thigh when you get an error stating "unknown error" means something wrong with your server internal post result php or some cross domain issue. It will be great if you can send us the project for analysis. Please send your project on [email protected]
Will analyze your issue and will get back to you, also I insist if you can provide few steps you opted while setting internal server reporting and the internal server on some machine. This will be very helpful to trace the issue.

Motion 4: Match Move (additional question...)

This is a bit of an extension to my previous question...
I am matching the camera position to the move of an object (already did that) but then once it get's to a certain point, I want the camera to stop and then have the object keep on going (in this case, out of the frame)...
Is this possible? Once the behavior ends, the camera goes back to it's original spot....
The Hold Frame in the Retiming Behavior panel doesn't work....

Well I "hacked it"...
I duplicated the object... butted it right next to it's twin, then keyed the opacity from 100 and 0 to the next frame, the duplicate kept on going....
However if there is a better way, it would be nice to know...

FIELDSET tag addition question - APEX 3.1.1

Hi,
We have upgraded our applications from APEX 2.2.1 to APEX 3.1.1.
We found some problems with JavaScript validations on date picker items due to the addition of the ‘FIELDSET’ tag. We are modifying those JavaScripts and making it work.
Does anybody know where can we found a description of all the items modified to include the FIELDSET tag?
In this way, we will be able to check related JavaScripts or other issues with those item types.
We can’t find anything yet on the new features list or known issues about this problem.

As far as I know, this change considered to be an internal one, and as such is not documented in the user manuals. However, we know that the FIELDSET tag was
added to all the compound items in APEX. That means the following: date picker, list manager, shuttle, radio group, check box, popup LOV. I hope I didn’t forget any item.

Additional question for HTT server and XIM protocol

Thanks for your reply! I've download the web pages and documents that you mentioned and read them. But I can't find the files named .OWdefaults and .Xdefaults in which I must add two new lines :
1 OpenWindows.StatusStyle.locale: imDisplaysInClient
2 OpenWindows.PreeditStyle.locale: onTheSpot
to set the XIM style and status. I try to create two new files .OWdefaults and .Xdefaults that contain lines above in tow directories :
1 /usr/openwin/lib/locale/OWdefaults
2 /export/home/lijian
but it doesn't work. I wonder whether there is something wrong above or I must write program using C++ in my own application.

I would suggest ensuring you have the correct packges installed and creating the .OWdefaulkts and .Xdefault file in your home directory after the necessary additions as per documentation and then starting "openwin".

Verifying the Installed Locales
1.Reboot the system
Once you have added the localized packages, make sure to reboot the system before using the locale. This is not always needed, but is needed for some of the locales.
2.Setting the locale in your environment
When the system comes up, your target locale should be listed in the locale selection menu of dtlogin. Select it, and start the desktop from dtlogin If you are not using dtlogin (2.5.1 without CDE, for instance), set the LANG environment to your locale name. It is also advised to set LC_ALL to the same locale name.
From C shell, if you want to set the locale to ja (Japanese), for instance: % setenv LANG ja
% setenv LC_ALL ja
From Korn shell, if you want to set the locale to fr (French), for example: $ export LANG=fr $ export LC_ALL=fr Then, start openwin.
You could have locale sensitive X resources in your .Xdefaults or .OWdefaults. For instance:
OpenWindows.BasicLocale
If your selected locale does not seem to be activated, there is a chance that some of the resources are conflicting. It also happens that you may have font preference in your X resources. Remember that font availablity can be different per locale. Please eliminate locale dependent font settings in your environment when you test under different locales.
3.Checking the character output
Depending on whether you have installed Full locale or Partial locale, the strings on the desktop may be or may not be localized. Once the desktop is started, bring up a shelltool (or dtterm), and execute:
% date
The date command should print out the localized time data to you. By doing this, you have verified that the locale is correctly installed, and the fonts are loaded properly.
4.Checking the character input
Next thing to verify is the input mechanism for the locale. In one of
Chinese/Japanese/Korean locales, please also make sure t hat the system automatically starts a XIM (X Input Method) server. In these locales, the footer area for each shellWidget has extra space to display the current input mode string. Usually, Ctrl-space is assigned as the toggle key to turn on/off Asian language input. In Western European locales, XIM server is not started, and the extra footer area is not allocated either. One typical way to verify the character input mechanism using the US keyboard is to type in :-
Compose_key + a + double_quote
This key sequence will generate a-umlaut.
5.Ready to test your software
Now, you are ready to test your software in the target locale.
Asian Locales for Solaris 2.6
Note: Adding more than one asian locale can cause problems with the BCP packages. If you are going to add more than one asian locale, please do NOT add the BCP packages (SUNWxxbcp).
The asian locales that are supported are:
Japanese EUC Japanes e PCK Korean Korean UTF-8 Simplified Chinese Traditional Chinese Traditional Chinese BIG5
All Asian locales require the following packages:
SUNWale - Asian Language Environment Common Files

You were told wrong. It's two folders back.

Why would you want to do that? How *should* that link look?
The most common cause for links that aren't properly made is
a site that is
not properly defined.

An additional question about regular expressions with String.matches

does the String.matches() method match expressions when some substring of the String matches, or does it have to match the entire String? So, if i have the String "123ABC", and i ask to match "1 or more letters" will it fail because there are non-letters in the String, but then pass if i add "1 or more letters AND 1 or more digits"? so, in the latter every character in the String is accounted for in the search, as opposed to the first. Is that correct, or are there ways to JUST match some substring in the String instead of the whole thing? i WILL make some examples too... but does that make sense?

It has to match the whole String. Use Matcher.find() to match on just a sub-string()

Print every nth record to a report -- additional question

I have successfully created a report that prints every 10th record. That has yielded a report with Branch 1 containing 186 records, Branch 2 containing 30 records, Branch 3 containing 2 records, etc.. I would now like to restrict the printed information. I would like to print only print 10 of these records per branch. For example: for Branch 1 I would like to only print the first 10 of the 186 that I am now getting. I have tried a few things, which did not work.
Is there a way to do this?
