ADF UIX 2.2.20 + ADF BC: russian locales problem

Hi all,
We are using Oracle 9.2, ADF UIX 2.2.20, ADF BC on JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0
Tables of business entities have secondary field "Author". This field contains the name of a user, who has changed data in the table. After authorisation the name of user is stored in httpSession, and put into table using uix code:
<set target="${bindings.Author}" property="attributeValue"
value="${sessionScope.loginName}"/>
Some of users have russian letters in their names. Sometimes (about 1200 of 70000 rows) during commit russian letters are "lost" and replaced by "?" sign in Oracle table.
This problem happens on Oracle iAS 10g and TomCat 5.5.12 application servers, and on HP-UX and Linux RH.
I found topic
Re: Form Auth and Russian Language
and message from Jonas there, but link doesn't work//
Could anyone give an idea of how to solve this problem?
thanks,
Renat

Dear Sir...
i faced a similar problem with the arabic charactors. What you should check is two things:
1- The database charactor set should support russian.
2- The encoding of the pages in JDeveloper should support russian.
if you open any uix page and look at the source you probably will find the encoding equal to windows-1252. you should change it to russian encoding (which i do not know what it is).
you should install the russian language in windows, reinstall jdeveloper, then change the encoding of jdeveloper to support russian.
i hope this helps.
best regards

  • FDM - russian locale?

    Hi All,
    I'm interested if Russian localization is planned for FDM?
    Is it possible to customize/translate UI in FDM? Any documentation on this?
    Thanks.
    Alex

    From Oracle's website, download the Excel file(Support Matrix).
    In the sheet named- "Translation Support", they mentioned as "NA" for FDM - Russian cell. So, I believe- FDM won't be supported in Russian locale.

  • ADF Toy Store demo - problem

    I have just downloaded JDeveloper for the first time and installed the ADF Toy Store demo, but when I try to run it I get:
    C:\adf\adftoystore\FwkExtensions\src\toystore\fwk\controller\ToyStoreInitModelListener.java
    Error(4,8): InitModelListener not found
    Error(5,8): UIXRequestEvent not found
    C:\adf\adftoystore\FwkExtensions\src\toystore\fwk\controller\ToyStoreDataForwardAction.java
    Error(29,8): MessageData not found
    Have I missed a step?

    The 10.1.3 EA1 release doesn't include UIX, which is definitely part of your problem, so you are better off trying the sample in 10.1.2. You don't need to uninstall 10.1.3 though; as long as you install them in different directories, the different releases can happilly coexist. I have at least five different versions currently installed on my laptop.

  • Open file from ADF pages gives a problem

    Hi all,
    I have created with Jdev 11g an ADF page.
    In that page is shown a table with the files that are stored in the database.
    I use this code to show the file:
        public void showFile(BlobDomain  b,String filename){
            FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse)fc.getExternalContext().getResponse();
            response.setHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment; filename=\""+filename+"\"");
            response.setHeader("cache-control", "no-cache");
            try {
                InputStream in;
                in = b.getInputStream();
                ServletOutputStream out = response.getOutputStream();
                writeInputStreamToOutputStream(in, out);
                fc.responseComplete();
            } catch (IOException e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            } catch (Throwable e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
        }This works for the first time a file is opened. But when the user then selects a different row nothing is happening anymore.
    What can that be?

    Hi Simon,
    This is the button:
                      <af:commandButton text="Open file"
                                        binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_pages_Meldingen.cb5}"
                                        id="cb5"
                                        disabled="false"
                                        action="#{backingBeanScope.backing_pages_Meldingen.openFile}"/>this is openfile:
        public String openFile() {
            BindingContainer bindings = this.getBindings();
            DCIteratorBinding iter = (DCIteratorBinding)bindings.get("XxahelpBezoekRapDocView1Iterator");
            Row currentRw = iter.getCurrentRow();
            showFile((BlobDomain)currentRw.getAttribute("Bijlage"),currentRw.getAttribute("Filename").toString());
            return null;
        }And how can I download in a popup??

  • ADF - MyFaces, HttpUnit testing problem with Javascript.

    Dear all
    Does anybody know how to test ADF Faces. Any tool would be of interest to me although Opensource and Free Software is prefered?
    My task is to write a set of unit tests to test an Oracle ADF and Apache MyFaces application. I have attempted to use both Cactus and HttpUnit. However I am struggling with a simple test case which should simulate a login.
    The problem I have is that ADF Faces produces the following dynamic javascript file (I am guessing it is dynamic because I can not find this in either adf-faces-impl-10_1_3_0_4.jar or adf-faces-api-10_1_3_0_4.jar which are the two jars am implementing in my project.):
    Common10_1_3_0_4.js
    Which when parsed by js.jar (Rhino javascript engine) I get the following error:
    com.meterware.httpunit.ScriptException: Event 'submitForm('maincontent:loginForm',1, {source:'maincontent:submit'});return false;' failed: org.mozilla.javascript.EcmaError: TypeError: Cannot call method "split" of undefined at
    com.meterware.httpunit.javascript.JavaScript$JavaScriptEngine.handleScriptException (JavaScript.java:202)
    (This file Common10_1_3_0_4.js is over 5000 lines long and so I do not want to post it as this posting is already quite long).
    Downloading the file directly after it has been built and modifying it and fixing the error by ensuring the split function is called on a strongly typed String variable, then commenting out from the web.xml below I tried the HttpUnit test again.
         <servlet>
              <servlet-name>resources</servlet-name>
              <servlet-class>oracle.adf.view.faces.webapp.ResourceServlet</servlet-class>

              <servlet-name>resources</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>/adf/*</url-pattern>
         </servlet-mapping -->
    This time I get no error, but the original login page simply gets served again.

    Dear All
    Well I found the solution to my testing requirements. HtmlUnit is able to deal with the dynamic Javascript that is generated by the ADF Faces application. The strange part is that HtmlUnit uses the Rhino Javascript engine just as HttpUnit and Cactus, however these two could not deal with the javascript whereas HtmlUnit could.
    I include a snippet of a test case that I wrote that now works.
    public void testLoginSuccess() throws Exception {
    final WebClient webClient = new WebClient( BrowserVersion.INTERNET_EXPLORER_6_0 );
    final URL url = new URL("http://localhost/WMS/pages/login.jsf");
    final HtmlPage page = (HtmlPage)webClient.getPage(url);
    // Get the form that we are dealing with and within that form,
    // find the submit button and the field that we want to change.
    final HtmlForm form = page.getFormByName("maincontent:loginForm");
    final HtmlTextInput usernameField = (HtmlTextInput) form.getInputByName("maincontent:username");
    final HtmlPasswordInput passwordField = (HtmlPasswordInput) form.getInputByName("maincontent assword");
    final ClickableElement button = (ClickableElement) form.getHtmlElementById("maincontent:submit");
    // Change the value of the text field
    usernameField.setValueAttribute("admin");
    passwordField.setValueAttribute("pass");
    // Get the submitted form
    final HtmlPage welcomePage = (HtmlPage) button.click();
    assertEquals( "Temperature Measurement System", welcomePage.getTitleText() );
    }

  • Adf swing form login problem (Frank, look at this please)

    Hi All. I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3
    Can anybody please give me a clue on how to create a simple stand alone adf swing form with a login dialog and the oracle jaas authentication?
    For me this kind af appllications works well only in design time :(. When i try to launch my generated .jar application the login dialog does appear but the authentication
    doesn't work "incorrect username or password".
    So i think i followed all the instructions from jDeveloper online help concerned with generating a login dialog... but my application still doesn't work properly after deployment.
    Please somebody look at what i've done and tell what is wrong.
    1. I created an adf swing form with a login dialog.
    2. I set the jbo.security.enforce property for my application module to Must.
    3. I added to my application a dialog for adding, removing and modifying application users via oracle.security.jazn api.
    4 I tested my appllication in Jdeveloper. It works great! I even added a number of application specific default users via my application.
    5. I assured myself that the oc4j security library has been added into the adf/swing project as well as into the deployment profile.
    6. I deployed my apllication to a .jar file.
    7. I created "config" folder inside the directory where the.jar file has been dropped. I copied there the following files: jazn.xml and system-jazn-data.xml (the last one file includes all my previously created principals) from /jdev_home/j2ee/home/config.
    8. Now when i start the application the login dialog appears as i've mentioned but authentication doesn't work.
    I found only one similar topic over the whole forum:
    http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=665430
    but what i've done seems to meet all Frank's advices.....
    Oracle staff please dont ignore my post.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, rob nice to learn that i'm not the only one stumbled over this issue.
    Hope that this question will be finally answered...
    ...just a few additional comments.
    1. It appears that the position of the jazn.xml and jazn-data.xml files pointed in the documentation (config subfolder of the root .jar's folder) is right for if i rename or delete the jazn.xml it runs into the error: jazn configuration file not found, but nevertheless it works strange, it looks like it doesn't use the mentioned files at all....given the fact the i've already spent a number of days experimenting and looking for a solution i learned that after a first startup the files mentioned above (jazn.xml and jazn-data.xml) are modified in some way that prevents using them on another oc4j server instance (if i have i.e. another jdeveloper instance, i cant run and go through authentication in my application by simply coping the old jazn.xml and system-jazn-data.xml files into the /jdev_home/j2ee/home/config
    folder...instead i need to copy a pure "initial" jazn.xml file from the initial jdeveloper archive) ... something like the thing mentioned here:
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2007/05/08/jdeveloperadf11gTechnicalPreviewTipsAndTricks.html
    also i noticed that if there is no system-jazn-data.xml file in the config folder it is created automatically after a first startup...so when i tried to delete the system-jazn-data.xml file from my deployed application's folder it would't create a new one though it saw the jazn.xml file (since no "jazn configuration file not found" error had ever appeared)...i also tried to place "pure" copies of jazn configuration files in my config subfolder but of course it would give no effect.
    2. i also changed the login.module.provider as well as the auth.policy.provider properties in the java.security file as documentation sais - no effect.
    So it would be great if Frank gave us a direct link to the white paper he was working on (and i hope had finished :) few years ago....or even better gave me the simpliest example of a finished adf swing application with authentication implemented.
    [email protected]
    ps. we know it's really really time consuming answering all questions but considering the lack of documentation on adf swing technology i hope we can rely on your help here.
    thanks.

  • ADF faces - Urgent! - problem in display row-detail

    Hi all, I've maka a post yesterday but I still can't resolve the problem.
    I have a page that display data from the database.
    The amount of data is variable, so I configure the iterator as follow:
    <methodIterator id="XLB_find_user_OLIter" Binds="XLB_find_user_OL.result"
    DataControl="Session_EJB_TDBLocal" RangeSize="10"
    BeanClass="TDB.model.OltdbView" Refresh="always"
    CacheResults="false"/>
    The table have a single selection column and a view detail button.
    when user click the button, the following method is called (in the backing bean):
    public String ElaboraAtt_action() {
    OperationBinding bind=this.bindings.getOperationBinding("XLB_changeToWorkingOn_olTdb");
    int ret=(Integer)bind.execute();
    if(ret==0){
    XLB_changeToWorkingOn_olTdb make some operation on the record and return a result code.
    the bind for XLB_changeToWorkingOn_olTdb is:
    <methodAction id="XLB_changeToWorkingOn_olTdb"
    InstanceName="Session_EJB_TDBLocal.dataProvider"
    DataControl="Session_EJB_TDBLocal"
    MethodName="XLB_changeToWorkingOn_olTdb"
    RequiresUpdateModel="true" Action="999"
    ReturnName="Session_EJB_TDBLocal.methodResults.Session_EJB_TDBLocal_dataProvider_XLB_changeToWorkingOn_olTdb_result">
    <NamedData NDName="username" NDValue="${userState.name}"
    NDType="java.lang.String"/>
    <NamedData NDName="callid" NDValue="${showOl_backing.currentCallid}"
    NDType="java.lang.String"/>
    </methodAction>
    where showOl_backing is the backing bean.
    In the backing bean, the code for current callid is:
    public String getCurrentCallid() {
    JUCtrlValueBindingRef tableRowRef=(JUCtrlValueBindingRef) this.getOl_table().getRowData();
    return (String) tableRowRef.getRow().getAttribute("callid");
    The problem is:
    If the rows change between the rendered page and the next submit, the row retourned from getCurrentCallid() is wrong.
    I've seen that, before start to execute the action, ADF refresh the table with the new values, so I think that the selection is made with an index, but on new values...
    I've tried almous any solution...
    Thanks!
    Luca

    ...ok...finally...I've done...
    simply, i've setted cache resut to true in the iterator.
    When af:pool refresh the table, or when a refresh button is click, a method call execute the operationBindings, and the result are refreshed...

  • Oracle ADF VO old value problem.

    I have a web application developed Oracle ADF and Jdev 11.1.2.3.0. I have a button in my page which name is "Complaint". When user click the button, it invokes a method on ApplicationModuleImpl via a ManagedBean.
    public void clearAndExecute(){
    getCardView1().clearCache();
    getUser1View1().clearCache();
    getReplyView1().clearCache();
    getCardView1().executeQuery();
    getUser1View1().executeQuery();
    getReplyView1().executeQuery();
    public void increaseComplaint(BigDecimal cardID) {
    clearAndExecute();
    ViewObjectImpl vo = getCardView1();
    Integer complaintCount;
    BigDecimal userID=null;
    Row[] rows = vo.findByKey(new Key(new Object[] { cardID }),1);
    if (rows != null && rows.length > 0) {
    Row row = rows[0];
    complaintCount = (Integer) row.getAttribute("CardComplaintcount");
    ++complaintCount;
    userID=(BigDecimal) row.getAttribute("UserUserid");
    row.setAttribute("CardComplaintcount", complaintCount);
    clearAndExecute();
    this.getDBTransaction().commit();
    clearAndExecute();
    This method gets the "CardComplaintcount" column value in CardView1 and increase +1 it. and commit Transaction. My method runs normally but i have an issue.
    For example scenerio ; Initially, In column "CardComplaintcount" value is 5. And i open two web page different browser. Then, i clicked "Complaint button" 3 times. I looked at the mysql db, its value 8 it is OK. And then, i turn to other opened browser and clicked "Complaint" button one time and looked at the mysql db, and size is 6. it must be 8+1=9. It is likely refresh problem or not, How can handle this problem.
    Edited by: ramonypp on 27.Kas.2012 18:29

    Kdario, i know that, i can do a jdbcl call and get last result from DB. But, What is here ADF business components, Entities and View Objects, Rows. More jdbc call can make our application performance down. Due to this reason, i'm trying to solve this problem with entity objects or view objects.
    I did some news. Overriding the my entity object's lock method like below;
    try {
    super.lock();
    catch (RowInconsistentException ex) {
    this.refresh(REFRESH_WITH_DB_FORGET_CHANGES | REFRESH_CONTAINEES);
    super.lock();
    When it encounter with Optimistic lock exception (RowInconsistentException ) fetchs the new results from db, and refresh the entity. But i have only problem too. When i invoke the "ComplaintCount" button in other page, first click it retrives last value from DB, and second click, it counts complaintcount +1. I dont know Why first time id doesnt count +1,

  • ADF and MSSQL 2005 problems - FOR UPDATE clause allowed only for DECLARE C

    Hi all.
    I have a legacy application which uses MS SQL server 2000 / 2005. I've started to build up a new version of this application using JDev + ADF stack.
    Everything went ok until I've tried to update some data in a Form. I'm getting this error:
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Line 1: FOR UPDATE clause allowed only for DECLARE CURSOR
    Can someone figure out what's wrong?
    1) In a MSSQL server connection string, normally we define the 'SelectMethod' parameter to 'cursor', as follows: jdbc:sqlserver://$host$:$port$;databaseName=dbserver;SelectMethod=cursor
    Since I was not able to do this through my project's 'Application Resources > Connections' screen, I could not evaluate if this is the cause
    2) I'm trying to follow the steps of an Oracle tutorial (http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/ps1/ria_application/developriaapplication_long.htm#ad), of course using MS SQL server instead of Oracle, and using some master->detail tables like the example suggests (in the tutorial, I've reached the step 11, then tried to update a record, which causes the mentioned exception)
    Follows the stacktrace:

    So, I`ve created a test project and use the MSSQL flavor to create my Business Components.
    After repeated all the steps, the error did not happen again.
    But some strange behavior happen: I change some data and click the "Submit" button. The changed data appears ok in screen, but the changes were not committed in database!
    Do I need to explicitly tell ADF to commit that changes somewhere?

  • ADF component with Facelets problem

    I use oracle ADF with Facelets, almost every components work well, except two problem.
    1) <af:table>. If I defined af:commandLink for the column
    <af:column>
    <af:commandLink action="editTeam" immediate="true"/>
    </af:column>
    If you want to enter the link in the first row of the table, your click it once and get no response. You must click at least twice , then you will get the response action. All other row work well except the first row.
    2) <af:processTrain>, If I define a new skins for processTrain, the image show the processStation will not show up, any idea about how to define a new image in CSS to display the station status?
    Best regards,
    Sam

    Hello Sam. I have a similar problem, only I cannot get any ADF Faces components to display. Their tags are in the JSP's source like so:
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.0" xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces" xmlns:afh="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html">
      <jsp:output omit-xml-declaration="true" doctype-root-element="HTML" doctype-system="http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd" doctype-public="-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"/>
      <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252"/>
        <html>
          <head>
            <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"/>
            <title>testTemplate</title>
          </head>
          <body>
          <af:inputText value="AN inputText"/>
            <h1>Here's my Title</h1>
            <div> Here's My Menu </div>
            <p> Here's My Body </p>
          </body>
        </html>
    </jsp:root>

  • ADF messages in locale Catalan

    Jdev. 11.1.1.4
    Does anyone know if ADF messages are also in "Catalan" language. It is an european local language.
    Or anyway to look for it.....
    I'm translating an application to his language and have found that some System messages appear in English while I have the local in catalan.
    For example, in the validation tooltips, in the upper side appers "Enter a number between 0 and 99", while the downside of the message apperar my bundle message in catalan.

    Timo,
    It's correct, the catalan locale is ca.
    What I'm finding in my application is that custom messages based on resources bundle are correctly appearing in catalan, but system ADF messages are appearing in english.
    for example, I have an inputText field with shortDesc:
    shortDesc="#{viewcontrollerBundle.GRADO_STANDARD_GRADO_DE_TECNOL}"
    and a validation like:
    <af:validateLongRange minimum="0" maximum="4"/>
    When I click inside this inputText field, a tooltip appears with two messages: in the lower side appears the sortDesc message in Catalan, but in the upperside appears the validation message "Enter a number between 0 and 4" in english !
    How is that possible ? Perhaps one locale could be different of the other ? I think that if ADF has its messages translated into Catalan, this message should appear in catalan....

  • ADF Faces - showOneTab PPR problem in Internet Explorer

    Hoping someone has some insight into this that may help. This is causing us a lot of problems for us and could end up causing us to drop ADF faces from our project.
    Basically we are using af:showOneTab in our application and the first time we change tabs and every other time after that, the progress bar in IE basically runs forever and we have problems with afh:script tags that set the focus to the desired input field. We get a Javascript error that the element doesn't exist (it does, checked with a DOM explorer), or its not ready (may not be because of the progress bar) or isn't visible (it is).
    So after a lot of debugging in our application I just went back to the adf demo war file and the showOneTab component demo page in there shows exactly the same behavior. Firefox 1.5.0.7 does not have this problem.
    Here are the relevent versions of everything:
    ADF faces standalone jars, version 10.1.3.0.4 from the main ADF faces page download.
    JSF 1.1_01 RI
    Websphere 6.0 App Server
    Internet Explorer version 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519
    JDK 1.4 - required because of WAS 6.0
    Thanks!
    Steve

    I did find a workaround to this problem. I think its pretty ugly though. I had to add the following to the page:
    <!-- This code is necessary to prevent the IE progress bar runs forever problem. -->
    <f:verbatim>
         <iframe height="1px" marginheight="0px" marginwidth="0px" id="garbageFrame" name="garbageFrame" width="1px" style="visibility:hidden; position:absolute; top:-200px">
         </iframe>
    </f:verbatim>
    <afh:script id="iframeUpdate"
         text="window.garbageFrame.document.write('');
         window.garbageFrame.close()"/>
    <!-- End of code for IE progress bar problem. -->
    Then I add the iframeUpdate script as a partial Target in my tab disclosure listener:
         UIComponent c = (UIComponent)de.getComponent();
         UIComponent target = c.findComponent(":iframeUpdate");
         AdfFacesContext adfContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
         if(target != null) {
              adfContext.addPartialTarget(target);
    Just thought I'd follow up as I remember others having the progress bar run forever in IE as well.

  • ADF Faces: Design-time problems

    Hi!
    We are working at JetBrains on several JSF features, and we have some serious problems with components' behavior on design time. Can we recieve an engineer contact, who can be discussed these problems with?

    I think your question is still confusing - are you saying JetBrains is not used? Is this a pure ADF Faces issue? - it would also help people on the list if you can explain WHAT the actual component is and WHAT the problem you are seeing....

  • ADF FACES: font size problems

    By default, when jdev creates a new .jspx file, it includes the jsp:output statement below:
    <jsp:output omit-xml-declaration="true" doctype-root-element="HTML" doctype-system="http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd" doctype-public="-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"/>
    With this statement in place, the font size used by IE is incredibly tiny. When I remove this statement from the page, the font sizes are all "normal."
    Does this make any sense? How would this statement affect all the font sizing on the page?
    Thanks.

    This doctype reference is activating the (rather ironically named) standards mode in Internet Explorer. The current HTML used in ADF Faces renders better in Internet Explorer's quirks mode, though we're hoping to resolve that. The simplest tweak to your .jspx is to remove the "doctype-system" part of that <jsp:output> statement.
    I'll follow up with the JSP DT team to see if this can be tweaked or configured (or, ideally removed, since <afh:html> and <af:document> are already outputting a doctype).
