Adfm.xml and locating DataBindings

I have some issues with this. This is the situation: Model and ViewController project. DataControls are used, made on a session bean in Model prject, referenced in ViewController project to display on a page etc. So it is standard use of data controls.
Within embedded JDeveloper it works fine. Then I deploy it to Standalone OC4J. Error is:
JBO-26001: XML File not found for the Container model/DataBindings.cpx
So I figured out that the location that points to DataBindings is not correct. In Model project adfm.xml is, naturally, in the META-INF direktory, together with the persistence.xml and ejb-jar.xml.
In the war file for the ViewController these files are also present. I guess that is because of dependency among projects, so the compiled source directory of Model project, together with the META-INF directory is under WEB-INF/classes/
In war project adfm.xml is under WEB-INF/classes/META-INF, also persistence.xml and ejb-jar.xml.
Now, when deployment starts, it just does not find jar files referenced in the persistence.xml. So I removed it, and deployment went on. But, once I get to display the page that uses bindings. I get error that it cannot locate DataBindings. I tried different combinations of paths, but it doesn't work.
Without adfm.xml file, of course, application cannot locate bindings.
So, here are the questions:
1) What is the correct way to assemble this kind of project? Are the files ejb/jar.xml an persistence.xml needed in WEB-INF/classes/META-INF
2) Where should the file adfm.xml be located in war archive and how should it reference the DataBindings?

OK, after some trouble I have managed to get things up and running. I'm not sure how, but I have noticed one annoying thing with swtandalone tp4. If I deploy app, then undeploy it and deploy it again, the old version of module I changed with new deploy is not removed if I dont restart the server. So It happend I didnt notice some changes I made, then I made a clean start and it worked.
Thanks anyway, Frank. The way things are going, I think Ill soon be here with more questions :)

  • XML datasource: dynamic file name and location

    I have an RDF file that uses an XML file as its datasouce. I have supplied it a valid DTD file location and a valid XML file location, via the report wizard. I would like to programatically change the name of the XML file at runtime. What are my options...use an XML customization? I would like to do it in an after parameter form trigger. Is this possible?
    If I have to use an XML customization, is it possible to only customize part of the datasource tag. For example, here is my datasource tag (not from an RDF, but an XML report definition)

    How can I only customize the <xml>file:C:/test/175.xml</xml>?
    I only want to change the name of 175.xml to something like 176.xml.

  • How can I add links to open xml and csv files stored in another location? Please advice how to place links in my frame maker document?

    Hi,
    I would like to know as to how can I add links to open xml and csv files stored in another location? Please advice how to place links in my frame maker document?
    Kindly advice.
    Thanks
    Priya

    Special > Hypertext > Command "open document" will do its best to open the target document inside FrameMaker, which may not be much help; Special > Hypertext > Command "message …" will use the application you specify. The user guide for 7.0 says this about absolute links, and I don't think anything has changed since:
    For example, to start PaintBrush and open the Ship.pcx file on drive C you would use the command message system pbrush.exe C:/Ship.pcx
    I've not often used a relative link, and not recently: the same source says
    folder levels are separated by a slash / even in Windows and Mac
    [relative links] FrameMaker searches for a relative pathname beginning in the folder that contains the current document
    [absolute links] FrameMaker searches for an absolute pathname beginning at the top of the file system. In Windows, the absolute pathname begins with the drive specifier, a colon and a slash.

  • What port and location to be used in composite.xml

    I am trying to use the port and location of a service which is not deployed due to enviornment set up problem. So, now I have set the port and location as null. Can I use some value to compile my composite.

    You can definitely compile your composite.
    Inside "reference" tag of your composite, there would be another tag with the name "binding.ws", which would have two attributes - port and location.
    You can give value for port attribute and compile your composite.
    This value would be something of this format : <port target Namespace>#wsdl.endpoint(<service name attr>/<port name attr>)
    Hope it helps.
    Puneet.

    None of those roles are intended to be granted to application users. Those are instead to limit various operational / support responsibilities. For instance, if you have "operators" for your production environment who are responsible for starting & stopping servers vs "Administrators" who are performing configuration changes, etc.
    The SOA* versions can be used to separate even further - an "Operator" ( with rights in the WL console ) can be distinct from a "SOAOperator" ( with rights in the SOA /em ), etc.

  • Use Sign.xml and Encrypt.xml for both request AND response within WSDL?

    Hi,
    ALSB: 2.6
    I was wandering if it's possible to use abstract outof the box WS-Policy file within WSDL file to specify encryption
    (Encrypt.xml) and digital signature(Sign.xml) with X509 for both request and response???
    So far, it only works for either request or response BUT not both. i.e. within WSDL file
    <!-- following WSDL works for encrypting and signing request with X509 in test console -->.....
    <wsdl:binding name="DexService2Soap" type="tns:DexService2Soap">

    So is this a feature not supported in ALSB 2.6 yet or am I missing something dead simple?
    Thanks in advance
    Sam

    Instead of specifying policies for input and output separately you could place the policy reference only once in the operation element. Maybe will this solve your problem...

  • How to refer to the xml file located on unix server

    I have a xml file which is located on unix server and have a hard time, reverse engg. it .
    if anyone has any knowledge on this , that will be helpful.

    I have application server where my xml is located.e..g /tmp/xyz.xml
    I have designer on my laptop from where i have created a agent which points to my application server.
    I am able to create a data server which does say test successful.
    In model i tried to create new model and trying to reverse engg. the xml now i get following error .
    java.sql.SQLException: Could not generate the DTD because the file could not be created. Verify that you have write permission in the directory.
    if you can point me to documentation which has some information on this will be helpful or any hint..

  • Diappearing photos replaced by an exclamation point within a triangle.  Prior to loading Lion I could put the image number in finder and locate the original file for that photo.  How do I restore photos now?

    I had problems with photos disappearing and being replaced by an exclamation point within a triangle.  I can see the photo in the thumbnail summary but when you click on it, the screen goes black and the exclamation point within a triangle appears along with the info on the original image number (i.e., img_1120.jpg). Prior to loading Lion, I could go to Finder, enter the image number and locate the original file for that photo.  I could then restore it for editing, copying into Print Shop directly, etc.   That no longer works after installing Lion.   How do I restore photos now?  I have 100s of photos that I have been going back to the original files and restoring and I am frantic that I will no longer be able to get to the original files.  Please help!  Thanks

    The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Spry XML and image map

    Hi all-
    I'm new to using spry and xml, but not new to xhtml and layout, having said that. I'm trying to store file paths in my xml and parse that xml to repace <href> tags in an image map. For example (the actual cooridnates in the map are just made up for the example below, the actual map has 88 locations and very detailed coordinates, as it is a state map):
    <head>
    <script src="../SpryAssets/xpath.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="../SpryAssets/SpryData.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    var ds1 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("../files/research/counties_census.xml", "ohio");
    </head>
    <body>
    <div spry:region="ds1">
    <img src="../images/CountyMap.gif" width="565" height="611" usemap="#Map">
            <map id="Map" name="Map">
              <area shape="rect" coords="103,156,155,202" href="../files/research/{Location}" />
              <area shape="rect" coords="216,156,286,210" href="../files/research/{OtherLocation}" />
            </map>
    </div>
    </body>
    Am I just making a syntax error or is this just outside the scope of what I can use spry for? Any help is appreciated.
    thanks in advance

    I have one more question. What you gave me worked like a charm btw. Thanks a lot. Onto the question:
    I'd like to use the same XML to also power a drop down menu, here's a snippet of the XML/XHTML below. I can't seem to get it to work on the drop down, the image map works great.

  • XML and sending its data by sockets

    In my new project, i need to receive data from an XML file and send it to a client when the client has requested it from my server.
    so far, i've stored the elements into variables (i'll call them item1, item2, and item3 for now). I put this into the protocol so when the client calls upon the server to store itemn to one of its variables, it will do so.
    apperently, all this does is send my String variable output, which starts out as null and doesn't change, and so the output remains null which in turn will close my client. here's my protocol (it gathers data from avalonmap.xml):

    for one thing, don't use == to compare strings... You have that all over the place, like:
    if(currentElement=="region") {

    int rowsInserted = oxs.insertXML( result );
    conn.commit();
    conn.close();
    System.out.println("Inserted " + rowsInserted + " articles...");
    When I debug this, it errors at the line:
    XSLStylesheet transform = new XSLStylesheet(xslstream,null);
    The error is:
    Exception breakpoint occurred at line 785 of XSLProcessor.java.
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLException: : XML-22000: (Error) Error while parsing XSL file (null).
    Any advice?

    I thought that might be it to. Tried that, get the same error. I did verify the name and location of the file as well. The error message had the additional notes below:
    Exception breakpoint occurred at line 785 of XSLProcessor.java.
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLException: : XML-22000: (Error) Error while parsing XSL file (null).

    Is this something I can do on the oracle proprietary class like XSLProcessor?

  • Ejb-jar.xml and orion-ejb-jar.xml configuration issue

    Chris,
    We have an application that uses the Oracle 10g Application Server and WebSphere MQ v5.3 w/ fixpack 9.
    Our application is a J2EE messaging system which essentially consists of Message Driven Beans, the EJB
    realization of the J2EE Java Message Service (JMS) API. Our application has Message Driven Beans which
    listen to queues and send messages to queues -- a simple messaging system. Currently we can listen to queues, but
    cannot send messages to queues in the Oracle 10g Application Server environment.
    Any J2EE application server has its own implementation of Java Naming Directory Interface (JNDI) API that
    deployed J2EE applications utilize to lookup resources such as Data Sources, JMS Destinations (i.e. MQ Queue),
    JMS QueueConnectionFactories (i.e. MQ QManagers).
    Our application uses the 3rd party JMS Provider, WebSphere MQ.
    MQ ships with a JMSAdmin tool which allows one to create JMS administered objects (i.e. objects a java
    application searches for in some JNDI directory) that reside in some JNDI context. We create a JNDI context for
    MQ resources, queues and QManagers. We configure the MQ provided
    JMSAdmin tool with two property name/value pairs:
    PROVIDER_URL=file:/opt/mqm/JNDI-Directory
    INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
    A resultant .bindings file is created in /opt/mqm/JNDI-Directory which represents our JDNI context
    containing our JMS administered objects. A standalone java application that needs to directly access this
    JNDI context can simply conduct a JNDI lookup on the following context: "java:comp/resource/MQSeries/". An
    example of how a standalone application would lookup a JMS administered object named "qNumber1" would be to
    lookup "java:comp/resource/MQSeries/qNumber1". This lookup would result in the standalone java application
    having a JMS reference to an MQ Queue.
    There is a major difference in how an enterprise EJB application deployed into a J2EE Container (Oracle 10g App Server)
    conducts a JNDI lookup on a 3rd party resource such as MQ as a JMS Provider. A typical EJB application deployed
    into a J2EE container as an .ear (enterprise archive) file has implicit access to the application server's own
    JNDI context. This JNDI context is usually "java:comp/env/". Looking up the Application Server's own Data Source or
    it's own JMS Resources is easy. An application that needs references to these Application Server provided resources
    simply conducts a lookup for "java:comp/env/jms/someQ" or "java:comp/env/jdbc/myDataSource".
    The problem we face is mapping our MQ JNDI context to the Oracle App Server's own JNDI context. We believe this is
    accomplished through mappings defined in both the ejb-jar.xml (EJB Descriptor) and the application server specific
    counterpart, orion-ejb-jar.xml. Note that Oracle 10g Application Server uses the popular orion J2EE container for
    hosting J2EE enterpise applications.
    Our Message Driven Beans (MDBs)currently listen to the Queue at the JNDI location "prodQ". Our problem is that we cannot
    get our MDB to send messages to any queues. Note that the MQ implementation of the queues and Queue Managers work
    flawlessly with standalone java applications. It's safe to say that the MQ objects are working.
    We are looking for a solid example of how the ejb-jar.xml and the orion-ejb-jar.xml map 3rd party JMS provider
    JNDI locations to the App Server's JNDI context.
    Below is how we have attempted to configure our own ejb-jar.xml and orion-ejb-jar.xml:
    ejb-jar.xml begin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>><?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>

    </deployment-plan>You can see which files can be external and which can be not. The weblogic-ejb-jar.xml can be external
    but in this case you need a deployment plan to point weblogic to the file. The ejb-jar.xml cannot be
    external (see external=false)
    The benefit of storing the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml is that your administrator can fine tune certain
    configurations by using a deployment plan, instead of having to extract the contents from the jar file
    and then repackage it again.
    No need to worry about a clustered environment, you can place the jar and the deployment plan
    on the server where the admin server is located, when you deploy an application you deploy it to
    the cluster and everything is taken care off.
    More information on deployment plans can be found here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/deployment/config.html

  • Crossdomain.xml and Reporting Services

    Hi,
    I'm trying to get my Flex application to call a webservice on a remote Reporting Services instance, but am running up against insummountable problems with the Flash Player's cross-site scripting security.
    Due to the way that Reporting Services works, there is no root folder (i.e. http://theserver/ doesn't actually exist anywhere in the filesystem) - so we cannot have a master policy file at that location.
    However, we have been able - through extensive fiddling of the SSRS web.config - to get an XML and/or ASPX file into the http://myserver/ReportServer/ subfolder and have the "X-Permitted-Cross-Domain-Policies: all" HTTP header returned along with the content.
    We are then calling Security.loadPolicyFile("http://theserver/ReportServer/crossdomain.xml") before we try and start calling the WebService.
    We are then able to load the WebService description (GET /ReportServer/ReportService2005.asmx?wsdl). However, when we then try to make the actual call to the webservice - which is a HTTP POST of XML data to the same URL - /ReportServer/ReportService2005.asmx - we get the following errors in the Flex debugger (and the Flash Player log file):
    Warning: Failed to load policy file from http://theserver/crossdomain.xml
    Error: Request for resource at http://theserver/ReportServer/ReportService2005.asmx by requestor from http://localhost/modules/ReportsModule.swf is denied due to lack of policy file permissions.
    *** Security Sandbox Violation ***
    Are GET and POST requests handled differently, or is there something more sinister going on here? Can anyone think of a way to proceed in this investigation, apart from just giving up on Flash's ability to do anything cross-site, and writing our own Server-Side proxy for everything!
    regards
    Richard

    Sounds like the update for Flash 8 may help.

  • Data source for deposit advice xml and check writer xml

    Could someone please tell me where I can find the data source for the Deposit Advice XML and Check Writer XML programs. Since these executables are now a spawned process (PYUGEN), I don't know how to get to the data source. I was able before to look at the queries in PAYUSPST.rdf and PAYUSCHK.rdf. Where are these queries located now? Any help is appreaciated.

    Hi All,
    I applyied the patch 6399100 and i got the seeded Check Writer (XML) and Deposit Advice (XML) programs.Im able to run the Check Writer (XML) with Parameter (Check Style :Seeded Archive Check Writer Template ) but where as the im unable to run the Deposit Advice (XML) due to Error msg: "No enties found for list of vales"for the 'Check Style' Parameter.
    And for the above (only for Deposit Advice) i am not able to ecexute the SQL script given in the Doc ID : 459306.1 due to the error msg : cannot insert NULL into ("HR"."PAY_REPORT_CATEGORIES"."REPORT_GROUP_ID") if i see query the select * from apps.pay_report_categories where short_name like 'ARCHIVE%' there is no record exixts for ARCHIVE_DEPOSIT....
    for this we required any other patch/setups.
    And is the "Third Pary Check" will support XML Publisher ??
    Any respose will be greatly appriciated.
    Thanks,
