Adjustment in SPDD?

Hi Friends,
We have upgraded SAP 4.6 to ECC 6.0.
In SPDD transaction there are two objects to adjust now.
The objects are.
=> without Modifiction Assistant
              -> Structures
                    -> /SAPDMC/LSSCREEN
                         * Structure Fields                        OHLIGER
              -> Domains
                        * /SAPDMC/LS_FILENAME             KUNZT
Here the objects are displaying in Yellow color light.
When i clicked on first one its showing the fileds and Accept Proposal, Edit Proposal buttons.
when i clicked on Accept Proposal, Its showing a dialog box like
Append for table /SAPDMC/LSSCREEN
Name of append ZALSSCREEN
And i clicked Continue. Then its showing one mesg like Structure /SAPDMC/LSSCREEN cannot be enhanced(creating new fields is not possible)
I am getting confusion.
Even i saw the difference in 4.6 and ECC 6.0.
In 4.6c this structure contains more fileds. In ECC 6.0 they removed some fields in this structure.
In 4.6 it caontains 182 fields. In ECC 6.0 it contains 150 fields.
Now when i clicked on Accept Proposal, the removed fields are appending into ECC 6.0 under ZALSSCREEN structure in table /SAPDMC/LSSCREEN.
I want just reset to original. I.e ECC 6.0 structure.
How to set to original. plz any helps will be appreciate.

as you said in 4.6c they have appened a structure to the standard, right.
now defently this should also be appended to the new version.right.
you are telling that you dont want appeneded structure.
just reset it to original.
even if you are facing problem while doing the same, refresh it and do it again. it will solve.
but adopt modifications is the right one for this.
they might be using the appened z structure some where, if it is not reflecting in new version, it would be a problem, right.

Hello Carlos,
this error is mostly related to the second run of an Upgrade (either to QA or PRD systems), when SPAU/SPDD already have a request assigned for them. Please check notes #68678 and #610311.
If this does not help, please list the content of phase PREP_INTEGRATION/ADJUSTPRP (as seen in the sapehpiconsole.log)

SPAU - The adjustment of Repository objects is carried out with transaction SPAU. Only those objects that have been modified by you and are being redelivered by SAP in an upgrade are presented for adjustment. If the objects you modified are not being delivered by SAP with the current upgrade, then they do not appear in the display.
The system automatically recognizes during upgrade if modification adjustment is necessary. You are then prompted to perform the modification adjustment.
You must decide whether the objects contained in the adjustment list should retain your modifications or if they should be reset to original. This is mandatory and must be carried out for each object visible in the adjustment transaction. Otherwise, the new original stays active in your System. The objects continue to be displayed in SPAU as not adjusted.
SPDD - You need not perform adjustments with transaction SPDD if you have made no changes whatsoever to the SAP standard objects of the ABAP Dictionary You have only added your own development work to the SAP System, that is new domains, data elements, or table structures in the customer namespace. Only changed SAP objects require further processing.

Upgrade of QA - spdd transport not working

Dear forum members,
during the upgrade of our test system, the spdd transport from the dev system is not correctly taken into account.
All objects processed with modification assistant have correct status but other objects have a yellow status which can be seen here:

Hi Eirikur,
May be the objects adjusted in the request are not complete.You may check the objects in the transport request directly using se01 on the dev system so that you know what all objects been adjusted during ACT_700 phase.
Two things you need to take care while handling with SPDD/SPAU during upgrade.If you have not adjusted the SPDD properly you have chances of loosing ur dictionary tables after upgrade.
I prefer you manually adjust SPDD tables with fields as first priority(if you dont ajust you will loose the customer changes and data) .Also i have see ur SPDD list under deleted objects there is a SAP std table which was touched by the Customer,it is better you ask the technial team whether you need that object before you proceed otherwise the object will be completly deleted after upgrade.All changes you should include in a single transport request.You dont have to release the transport request because upgrade procedure does it automatically.For Next upgrade you can simply use this Request for adjustment.
All adjusted objects should have tick mark(in green color).
Coming to SPAU Normally the technical team handles it after upgrade within the 14 days time limit after upgrade.

Interactive Reporting since EHP3

We've recently upgraded to Ehp3 and some interactive reports are not function returning errors such as the list below when you try and run them (the example below is for open activities report), other reports such as the Campaign effectiveness report work correctly and produce results.
Checks in ORDYWB and /CRMBW/CONFIG_WIZARD appear OK. Presumably as some of the reports are working we shouldn't be too far from getting them all to work - can anyone make some suggestions of what to check next?

Hi David,
Type conflict dump at function call is due to difference in data type of a parameter between what system is expecting and what is actually passed. Since you have had an upgrade, please check -
1. Whether the dictionary object causing dump was captured and adjusted using SPDD or not. May be it was missed
2. If a Z type then whether it was changed.
Simply check the data type of the field causing dump. It must be same as what your FM is expecting.

Patch upload problem

Hello everybody,
After installing IDES, i had done the creating logical system, it create a request. after that i have update the SPAM, when i am trying to upload other patches then following message is displayed.
Phase RUN_SPAU_?: Infomrmation on objects modified in system
The systesm detemined that some of the objects contained in the support packages have been modified in your system.All in all, the following objects were found
0 Dictionary objects (to be adjusted in SPDD)
2 Repository objects (to be adjusted in SPAU)
To display these modified objects- and to get an idea of the likely effort required for the modification adjustment- start transaction SPAU by choosing ' call SPAU'. please notet that the preview made both kinds of objects are displyed. the actual modification adjustment of course will be performed in transaction SPDD or transaction SPAU depending of the object type.
Note:
As you are importing the queue in the test scenario, you cannot make any changes or carry out a modification adjustment. you can only do this whn importing the queue in the standard scenario after the object have been imported successfully.

Dear all,
During the applying SAP_APPL Support Patch, I got the following error.

For more information about performing the modification adjustment, see 'modification adjustment help'.
Note:
If you do not perform a mofication adjustment, all the changes to the objects named in transaction SPDD are lost after dictionary activation.If you have modified tables, this may lead to data being lost.

I ran the process in forground and got below notice :

This is the biggest issue i am facing, I have done all adjustment in SPDD, all components are Green there. dont know why its saying 1 object left in SPAD.
Second: Regarding the SPAU i am stuck on SPDD SPAU is still to come.
Kindly suggest, Resolution will be appriciated.

SPDD adjustment help

I need help to clarify some spdd adjustmens....
On an upgrade on DEV system, we missed to implement a modification because on upgrade time, we understood on a semi-automatic adjustment -Phase 1 OK and Phase 2: Subsequent processing of table for adjustment- A table which was generated corresponds with the current version of the table. So there is therefore no need to treat it and on "Proposal corresponds to current version" ? button said The comparison of this table can then be exited with "Back".
Then we did not use buttons "accept Proposal" or "edit proposal", just push Back and get a new window with:
The adjustment proposal matches the current version of the table.
Do you want to reset the table to its original version?
We answered NO and continued with the upgrade phase, ignoring Modifications to the object were not adjusted message.
Now after upgrade, on SPDD still same objects like waiting for an adjustment.... but not sure i have to do it because of Proposal corresponds to current version message an moment we are now= upgrade is finished.... We are going too upgrade our QUA system on next days after check process.
1.- Should I adjust anything now?
2.- As I understood, SPDD adjustments must do on upgrade time, not after....isn't it?
Any help/suggestion will be gratefully.

Now if you are planning the landscape upgrade then it will be you can not use transport and automatically adjust SPDD now
May be you can do SPDD properly in quality and use that transport in production upgrade

SPAU / SPDD Adjustment Problem

Hi to all and thanks in advance for reading my question.
I need to edit a program, but, when I try to, I get the message "EU 526" that instructs me that the object I'm trying to edit was already changed or enhanced and that this object has a new version imported to the system with a Release upgrade, and this new version was not reconcilied with the new version.
Ideed we have applied a support package and we are correcting a problem that were found in a standard, following a information sent to us from SAP.
Then, I go to SPAU to run the modification adjustment, but the object <b>isn't at the list of the SPAU objects</b>.
What I need to do in this situation? How can I solve this problem?

What objects will come in SPAU and SPDD?
All the objects which are modified, after tansporting to the current system,
will be listed in SPAU and SPDD. SPDD contains the list of all modified Data Dictionary objects, like tables, dataelements, domains,view...etc. The rest of all the modified repository objects will be listed in SPAU.
What happens to the modifications done in the older version when we upgrade the version? (with Modification assistant and w/o)
After the initial upgrade happens, we have to do adjustments from SPAU/SPDD to maintain or reset the changes. That is, from the list of objects in SPAU/SPDD, you have to either carry forward the changes to the new version, by choosing the option ADOPT CHANGES (available on right click) or RESET TO ORIGINAL (available on right click).
Will they come in these transactions?
Ans: yes, they will be listed in these transactions, after the BASIS updgrade activity.
And what if we apply some patches(Notes) to the system? What is the impact of these patches to the SPAU transaction?
Ans: Patches will be supported by the version upgrade. In case of notes, we have to verify whether these notes are supported by the new version (you can go into http://www.service.sap.com/notes to verify this. Also, we have to analyze whther the code in the note is already incorporated in the new version. In this case you can ignore the chanes choosing RESET TO ORIGINAL option

SPDD Adjustment for Database indexes during the Upgrade

Hi Experts,
I am currently upgrading our Existing ERP 6.0 SP13 to ERP 6.0 ehp 4.0 with SP 03 and NW 701. I am kind of lost on the SPDD modifications Adjustment. We have 4 objects are in the SPDD modifications under "Without Medications Assistant. All of them are related to Database tables, where our developers created indexes for SAP Delivered Database table object. All of them are YELLOW. If select one of them and go to "Adopt Medications", it brings a Dialog window with
"Database table BKPF. Adjust all objects selected subtree?" --> I clicked on YES
I get the following

modifications.
Procedure
   *[Subtree icon]* Before you adjust your modifications, you can select multiple
objects or a subtree.

You can use the "Processor/Status" function to add other processors.
If you have modified an object where multiple versions are possible,
then the last version that contains changes has been stored in "version
management".
    *[Pencil icon]* Otherwise, use your own notations to transfer the modifications to
the new version of the object.
    *[Check Mark icon]* After an object is inserted in a transportable change request, the
red traffic light icon is replaced by the green checkmark in the tree.
If you do not want any modifications to be adopted, choose the "Reset
to Original" function.
I clicked on the Pencil icon [PENCIL CHANGE] -> it takes me to that object where I DO NOT have any options to adopt the objects....
I am bit of confused, I should get an option to adopt this object, so I can keep the current version and SAP doesnt over write it after upgrade and delete my indexes.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong here.

"Continue Without Adjustment" - SPDD

Hi Folks,
i always has this unclear doubt and question in our mind when doing upgrade. During Preprocessing phase, SAPup or SAPEhpi
prompt us for SPDD adjustment by logging to client 000 and continue with options
i) Adjustment completed
ii) Continue without adjustment
iii) exit
After reading threads/discussion, guides, notes, it mentions is important to process SPDD here, otherwise we'll risk of losing data overwritten by SAP original objects.
However, my question is: Can I proceed with "Continue Without Adjustment" and perform the SPDD adjustment after the upgrade, just like SPAU?
I've tested and performed the SPDD after upgrade which looked fine. Appreciate if someone can enlighten me.

Agree and this is the conventional method for upgrade. However, we still able use option "Continue without adjustment" and perform the SPDD after upgrade? Theoretically, for eg: an index was added to one table, and we still allow to adjust it after upgrade.

Is Access in Modifications Adjustment Phase in SPDD: 4.7, SR1

Hi,
We are applying support packages and while in SPDD phase when we choose for "adopt modifications, it is asking for "Developer access key".
Same prompting while clicking the "accept proposal" or "Edit Proposal" also.
We are doing this activity in client 000 with Registered developer user ID only.
My doubts are:
1. Is Developer access Key required for doing Modification adjustments???

We are using OS SunOS 5.10. We have gone through the note 525677.
SunOS 5.10 doesn´t use /etc/system but uses projects to configure IPC shared memory.
Did you configure /etc/project and /etc/user_attr according to
Note 724713 - parameter settings for Solaris 10

Issues during upgrade - SPDD

Hi,
We are doing the upgrade from SAP R3 4.6C to ERP 6.0, during SPDD phase we are getting errors while adjusting table VBAP. If you go to tcode SE14 there it is not allowing us to activate and adjust database. While activating the table it throws the error message as "Table VBAP could not be activated - E- Table VBAP ( error adjusting the database)"

You will need to find out, why it can´t be activated, you will get lots of subsequent errors if you ignore that.

We are in SPDD phase in upgrade.While i have added new Append structures in table MARC and activating it its givving error table is not activate and if i cheked syntax check it is showing no inconsitncies
