Admin Password

I successfully installed oracle application express and login to the apex_admin site. I created a workspace, create developer accounts etc.
Now when I try to login to the apex_admin site I receive an invalid credentials message.
I reset my password using the apxxepwd.sql script. and I created a new admin account using the following code
begin
wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=>10);
wwv_flow_fnd_user_api.create_fnd_user(
p_user_name => 'admin2',
p_email_address => '[email protected]',
p_web_password => 'admin2') ;
end;
When I created the new account, the set new password screen came up, but after I set my new password I was unable to login. I received the same message "invalid credentials"
I also ran the following code just to make sure that the apex admin was not disabled
BEGIN
WWV_FLOW_API.SET_SECURITY_GROUP_ID(p_security_group_id=>10);
WWV_FLOW_PLATFORM.SET_PREFERENCE(
p_preference_name => 'DISABLE_ADMIN_LOGIN',
p_preference_value => 'N' );
end;
any suggestions??

1. Please tell us your first name and put it in your handle and/or profile to help us.
2. Always state your Application Express and database versions. It can save a round trip.
3. Connect as the product schema (flows_xxxxxx) or as system (then alter session set current_schema=flows_xxxxxx) and:
update wwv_flow_fnd_user set account_locked='N' where user_name in ('ADMIN','ADMIN2') and security_group_id=10;
commit;
Alternately, checked the account_locked column before-hand. If it's 'Y' then there were probably too many unsuccessful login attempts (wrong password) which resulted in the accounts being locked.

  • Unable to install "Mavericks" as it asks for my 'Admin Password" and it does not work. Have not used it since I got my iMac in 2008. First upgrade to do so. Any solutions please?

    I have a 2008 iMac which had Leopard initially and I have upgraded to each new OS without a hitch. I downloaded "Mavericks" and began the install, it asked me for my "Admin Password" which I have never ever used since I set the Mac up, I have it safely tucked away so entered it, it rejected it each time. Am sort of lost now, as if my "Admin P/W" does not work here can I go from here?
    I have seen many others with this problem but so far most of the solutions seem to be for the "log in" or "User" password not the Admin one.
    I am running Mountain Lion successfully.
    I have my original disks as supplied and also a Snow Leopard install disk.
    I have seen some info about fixing this via Lion Recovery partition which I must have due to using Mt Lion.
    How can I repair this situation.
    Thank you to all those who respond.

    Thanks for your reply.
    I have visited both the sites you listed but it seems to me that the solutions mentioned are to fix the User or log in p/w's.They do not seem to refer to the admin one again.
    I understand about it being just like other user accts but the fixes do not really refer to it only the above two.
    I have no problem booting up my Mac, I do not use a log in p/w so my problem is with the Admin p/w that was set up back in 2008. This is what I need to reset etc.
    I am quite confused over these pw's as to just what is what and I need to make sure I understand all before I get into deeper trouble following these links.
    This Admin p/w that was set up has never been used and is the only p/w I have except for my Apple ID. All previous upgrades only required my user name log in which has no p/w set up.
    I hope you can follow me here butI have read so much on this it is becoming very confusing about whcih p/w's are what.

  • Can anyone help.  For security reasons I reset my admin password on my Macbook Pro a few days ago and didn't write it down.  Now I've forgotten it.  I didnt receive an installation disc when I purchased my Macbook Pro online - it didn't come with one-help

    Please see question above, but also note, I have the Applecare Protection Plan but am unable to get through to anyone on a weekend and I desperately need to use my laptop this weekend.  I can't log in at all now as I've forgotten my admin password.  A few weeks ago I also changed the password on my husband's new MacBook Pro and again forgot the password.  I spoke to someone at Apple and they helped me to reset it within minutes, by restarting the computer holding Command+something else (I can't remember what it was). A black screen with writing came up and I had to type in something like "password" (not sure exactly).  Anyway, this was a very quick and efficient process but I didn't write it down unfortunately.  Does anyone out there know what to do?  Thanks in anticipation

  • Admin password won't work to install software

    I'm trying to install Photoshop and when it gets to the point where it asks for the password, I enter it but the password box just disappears for a second and returns asking for the password again.  (I entered it several times with the same result each time.)  I'm certain that I'm entering a valid admin password and that permissions for the applications folder are set to read & write for admin and system.  Just to be sure I tried entering the password incorrectly and the box shook as it normally would when an incorrect password is entered.  Has anyone had a similar problem with Adobe products or installing any other software on Lion?
    Also, I just installed Adobe Lightroom last night and it worked just fine.  And when I just tried to run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool which also asks for a password and I'm having the same problem.  So I know that it's not just Photoshop but I don't know if it's just something to do with Adobe or maybe all software which requires an admin password to install.
    Trying to repair permissions and run a virus scan now although I think these two options are unlikely to fix the issue...

    It looks like repairing permissions did the trick.

  • Why can I not disable the guest user in the 10.8.2 update? I have never enabled the guest user, but after the update, it was automatically enabled with a "managed" tag. It is not selectable even after entering my admin password to unlock the options.

    Why can I not disable the guest user in the 10.8.2 update? I have never enabled the guest user, but after the update, it was automatically enabled with a "managed" tag. It is not selectable even after entering my admin password to unlock the options. I was able to select the account under "parental controls", but again, could not delete it. Why Apple? Why?!!????

    SOLVED Ok. I actually was able to disable it. I had to actually log in as the guest user to make it accessible in the preference window. Then I disabled it and logged out. Apologies if this was obvious for some people, but I have had some sort of issue with something every update since Snow Leopard.

    To reset the password, there's a different method in Macs with OS X Lion and Mountain Lion, because you don't need any discs to do it. Follow these steps > http://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4101 Note that you will need to create a new keychain after resetting your password

    No, Admin tool is sufficient. Did you change the password in online mode? If you change it in offline mode then you need to restart the BI Server.

  • How to change default admin password on Cisco Aironet 1040

    How do I change the default username and password on the Cisco Aironet 1040. There is a default set and I want to change that to secure the device. I've checked the manual and can't seem to find the directions. Any ideas?

    Hi Brian,
    If this AP is already registered with a WLC then you can change it via WLC.
    In WLC GUI, go to Wireless -> Select the AP -> Credential -> Override Global Credential-> Update username/pw/enable pw
    In WLC CLI, you can configure it like this. If it is for all APs, then select all, otherwise AP name.
    (WLC3) >config ap mgmtuser add username admin password Cisco123 secret Cisco123 ?
    all            Applies the configuration to every AP that does not have a specific user name.
         Enter the name of the Cisco AP.
    (WLC3) >config ap mgmtuser add username password secret
    (WLC3) >save config
    Are you sure you want to save? (y/n) y
    If it is Autonomous AP you can configure using the "username xxxx password xxx" IOS command

  • After recovery, admin password filled in with "dots" and cannot delete or change it

    Hello.
    I ran the Windows 7 updates yesterday, but only the necessary ones.  I did not install any of the optional ones.  After the updates completed, I turned the computer on and it was stuck in a loop cycle - starting windows, then the admin password log in box came up.  The box was fiiled in (with "dots" but too many to represent my password) and the screen just quickly flashed back & forth between the log in screen and "password incorrect".     I tried to switch user, and it flashed back to the admin log in.
    I did a system recovery to factory defaults (after backing up all data)  using the recovery discs.  After recovery, the "Set a password for account" screen comes up with the box below "Type a password" filled in completely with dots.  I cannot erase them with the backspace or delete keys.  If I highlight it and then try erase it with backspace or delete, the cursor just moves to the right hand side of the password box, but it still doesn't delete the faulty password "dots" so that I can change it.
    I tried to reboot by holding in the power button and then turning it back on.  After selecting country & language again, the same password screen come up.
    It is stuck!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  I computer I have  is the HP TouchSmart 310 PC 1155-Y.
    Thank You!

    View Solution.

    That is curious with a Recovery.  First, try to reset the password using NTPassword.  Make the CD, boot to it  following the directions.  If that does not solve the signon problem, consider installing the OS from a regular Windows 7 disk of the same version, using the key from the COA sticker.

  • How do you reset Admin password (when not logged in as Admin)??

    Here's my predicament. I set up 3 accounts on our laptop - one for me and my wife (Standard accounts) and a House Account as the only Admin. Now, I don't remember the password for the House Account, which serves as the Admin.
    I am trying to load new software, but it request administrative privileges. To make matters worse, when I try to install the MAC OSX startup disk (like the help manual says you should to reset the admin password), before my computer will restart the startup disk, it asks me for the Admin password. Because I am not logged in as the Admin, I can't even restart the computer when prompted by the startup and install the OS again.
    Any suggestions or help with this issue?
    Eric

    Did you create an Open Firmware password as well? If not then just insert the OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive and restart the computer. After the chime press and hold down the 'C' key until the spinning gear appears below the dark gray Apple logo.

  • How to reset my Admin Password?

    Hi,
    I bought a new Macbook Pro laptop yesterday running OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 and had it been set up in store so when I got home it was ready to use. Did not have to set up anything!
    Today I was trying to search for some videos on youtube and apparently i need the latest adobe flash player to play videos, which I have downloaded already but it asks for the admin password? Which i have no idea what it is? I think it has been set up in store and i wasn't told about it? I was told I can change it anytime but is it possible to change it without knowing the original password? And if so how can i do it?
    Thanks a lot! x

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    You should have been able to choose your password at the Apple Store. If not, you need to change your password.
    You can change your password without knowing the old one. If your Apple ID was set on your Mac, you can try resetting your password with your Apple ID > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274
    If it does not work, reset your password in OS X Recovery > http://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4101

  • How to reset my macbook admin password

    how to reset my macbook pro admin password

    If you know your original password, you go to system preferences and open accounts. Stay or got accounts on the top bar and click on password. Enter your old passwoed then enter yournew password twice. Add a hint if you like. If you don't know it, you have to reboot holding down the option r keys to get to the reset lion screen. there you will see an option to change your password.

  • Is there a way to change the admin password if you don't know the old one?

    This situation is a nightmare. I sold my iBook G3 lime green clamshell on eBay recently, and my buyer was a complete idiot. She sent me the computer back because she was a complete moron and couldn't figure out how to use it, so I accepted the computer back and gave her a full refund.
    When I ship out computers to the new buyers, I always do a erase and a fresh install, so when they receive the computer, they get the welcome screen. Well, of course she went through the whole process of completing her personal information, including her admin password. Well, the jerk forgot to mention to me what her password is so I could alter it to my information.
    Now I am trying to contact her and she isn't responding. It has been over 3 days. Is there ANY way that I can bypass this glitch? I have the original install disks, so I can do it that way? I will be so angry if I am stuck not having a password for this computer that was originally mine to begin with (and is now mine again), especially if I want to resell.
    HELP.

    Thanks. I had already accessed that after I posted this just from googling it. But I am in the process of doing a fresh install. I just rebooted holding down the C key so I can do it that way. I need to get my information in there anyway, not hers, and since I just received it a few days ago, I didn't add anything on there yet.
    What a hassle, but at least I know it's possible.
    Thanks for responding.

  • Can't remember my Admin password on iMac 10.5.8

    Hi everyone.  I am running into a major issue.  I cannot remember my iMac admin password (10.5.8) and I have tried everything that was suggested on this website along with multiple other sites.
    When I startup my iMac it automatically logs onto my admin desktop (no password, etc.)  I want to install something and I cannot make changes to my account because I can't remember my password.  I have tried rebooting with command + S and whenever I enter in the commands, I either get error messages or am told the commands are not recognized.  Any advice would be really appreciated.  I do not have the original CDs.  I am able to log onto a Standard and Guest account- just can't install anything because they're not the Admin account.
