  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro deployment issue

Hello. I am having a deployment issue with Adobe Acrobat 9 using Altiris. I create the rip which is bassically an image of the install. My facility has pruchased 50 seats for this software so I know we are covered for the users that we have to use this software. The issue that I am having after I make the rip, and deploy it to a machine it asks for the CD key again in order to use. Am I having an issue with my installation or is Adobe put some kind of security into their software so that when you try to make a rip of the installation is asks for teh CD Key again after the install? Is this an issue that can be resolved?

    SOLUTION:
The issue was somehow related to DPI (START > Settings > Control Pannel > Display > Settings Tab > Advanced button). Eventhough the DPI was set to normal, I switched it to LARGE, restarted the machine, logged in after the reboot, changed it back to normal size, restarted again, logged in once more, checked the Printer Preferences and PRESTO --- a properly displayed window.

  • Adobe acrobat X pro printing issues

I purchased Adobe Acrobat X pro and it was installed on Windows 7/64 bits PC.
I have issues with printing into PDF file for web page. It seems that if I click "convert to PDF" icon on Explorer, it does not have problem converting a web page into PDF. However, if I right mouse click on "print" on a web site, I get a "postscript error" message on Notepad" instead of generating PDF file. With a different web site, it did create a PDF file, but some characters were totally garbage, totally illegible. But it did create a PDF with no problem at all for a certain web page. I had a similar problem with a previous version of Acrobat Pro, but this time it is more extreme.
Am I not supposed to use right mouse click on "print" in order to generate PDF files at all? Do I have to use "Create PDF-from a web page" menu to successfully generate PDF files, but not on "print" using right mouse? Or is this problem occuring specific to Windows 7/64 bits PC? But Acrobat X pro is supposed to work with 64 bits.
I do not seem to have any problems converting files, such as Word, Excel, or JPEG into PDF files so far....
    Any suggestion is grealy appreciated.
    Henry

We are unable to reproduce the issue at my end. We are able to print fine using both PS and PCL printers. Could you please let me know the exact make of the printer at your end? Also, let me know whether you are using a  PS driver or a PCL driver.
    Thanks,
    Atul

  • Adobe [Acrobat] 9 distribute forms issue

I'm trying to distribute forms through adobe [Acrobat] 9 and I can only send the form to people in my address book through Acrobat.com as an attachment, but not as a link.
However, I can send a link to the form to people not in my address book via Acrobat.com with no issues. I've also noticed when I add people in my address book to the list of recipients it says it can't resolve the address even though I specifically added it through the address book. We use office 365 and I'm using outlook 2007. Is there some known issue?
    [Edited by host for clarity]

I'm using the retail upgrade version, currently on 9.3.0.  I had to upgrade from Acrobat 7 Pro when I got my new Win7 computer.
One thougth... the more I investigate this problem, I can't help but wonder if I somehow turned off the screen that is supposed to come up when I click the Distribute Forms button.  I just ran through the 20-minute video at http://tv.adobe.com/watch/creative-suite-podcast-designers/acrobat-9-complete-forms-workfl ow and it reminded me of the wizard screen that is supposed to appear with the three options (use Acrobat.com, email, internal server).  I haven't seen it, which makes wonder if I checked the "always use this option" button and now I can undo it.  Every option that I've tried on the Forms menu immediately takes me to the form with the purple bar mentioned in my original post.
    Thanks,
    Kim.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro Extracting Issue

When the download manager was trying to extract the Adobe Acrobat X Pro files to my computer folder, the following message suddenly popped out:
A problem occured while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write priveleges on the destination folder.
I restarted my computer just in case and tried to download the software again yet when it reached on the extracting part, the message again popped out. I have also checked my available space from my C drive and I still have enough, 1.27 TB to be exact.
I am the only user and the admin of this computer where I'm trying to download the software so it would be unlikely that I am restricted to the destination folder. Also, I have downloaded other softwares to the same destination folder and it went successful. It is just with the Adobe Acrobat X Pro dowload where I'm having this issue.
I would greatly appreciate for your prompt response with this matter. Thank you.

is your harddrive 1tb or larger?  if so, you'll need to partition that drive to use acrobat x on it.
    otherwise:
    uninstall acrobat X
    run the cleaner, http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
    restart your computer
if you're using windows, right click the installation file and click "run as administrator"

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard XI print issue

When opening a PDF in internet explorer, adobe acrobat won’t read pre chosen print driver settings.
When using acrobat stand alone, not in internet explorer, it does read the print settings.
Specifically the issue is you set up print driver as single sided print under finishing.
Only when you open PDF in IE, does acrobat choose 2 sided, it doesn’t read your single side setting under finishing.
This does not happen for adobe reader by itself, with no acrobat. If acrobat is installed in addition to adobe reader, it still happens for acrobat.
    Windows 7 64bit Enterprise
    Internet Explorer - 10.0.9200.16897
    Adobe Reader XI - 11.0.3
Adobe Acrobat Standard XI - 11.0.0 also tried update to 11.0.09

    Try this KB document:
Serial dialog box appears | Printing | Version 11.0.01

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro memory issues

I work for a company that scans micro film cards into the computer. Each micro film card usually has about 4 to 5 pages on each card. The scanner we use scans those 5 pages into one pdf page. We just bought adobe acrobat x pro to help us split these images into separate pages. First we highlight the first part of the image, copy to clipboard, then under more insert options we insert from clipboard. This works as intended, but we run into a snag, 1st adobe starts eating up a lot of memory, and it gets slower and slower when you cut and insert pages. Usually after you have closed about 6 separate documents adobe bogs down to the point where it stops responding and has to shut down. I have searched on the web for the past 3 days trying to find out how to resolve this. I have done everything from removing add-ons, setting adobe as admin, running it in xp mode, setting affinity, setting priority, downgrading to a fresh install with no patch. I am at my wits end, any help would be appreciative.

Great... so there is no update to get over this pixelated text/art issue for Acrobat Pro X (10.1.13) due to the retina display???
I am a graphic designer so I know what I am viewing is hires. All my art & copy is pixelated and when I open in the newest reader the art is fine. Is there a more efficient workaround besides open in reader but use pro for any edits?

  • Adobe Acrobat Distiller Process. Issue with Font(L0420P not found, using courier)

    Hi Everybody,
We are working for upgrade activities, which involves moving applications from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 Servers.
My applications uses Adobe Acrobat distiller, which is also getting upgraded along with the server from Adobe 4.0 to 5.0 (Installed licensed Adobe distiller).
I have been using Adobe distiller to convert .PS files into .PDF files. The conversion process requires the PSFonts such as (MB006, L0B, L0420P etc..), each font got a separate PFB and PFM extension files, which are kept in the folder name called "Psfonts" and has been included in "Font location" under Distiller settings.
Using Distiller( Adobe Acrobat distiller 4.0 ) in Windows 2000 didn't create any issues or error while converting .PS files into .PDF files, all the PDF files are generated by Distiller as expected and process without any Font issues.
In Windows Server 2003, I installed Adobe Acrobat distiller 5.0 and moved the Font Folder "Psfonts" from older server(Windows 2000 server) to the new server(Windows 2003) and started Adobe Acrobat distiller process(5.0) to convert .PS to .PDF, most of the .PS files gets converted into .PDF files but when .PS files which require the Font L0420P comes in for Distilling, it displays an error message as "L0420P not found, using courier".
I checked with the old Server's (Windows 2000) font folder (Psfonts), it has the same files(PFB and PFM) as present in the new Server(Windows 2003).
I tried to check the Particular Font name(L0420P) in Distiller-->Setting-->Job options-->Font-->Embedding-->Psfonts, but L0420P font alone is missing in the List.
Could you please help in resolving this Font issue.

You may like to try deleting the PsFonts entry from distiller and closing it. Restart the machine, make the entry of PSFonts agina and try creating PDF.

  • Adobe Reader X (10.1.2) and Adobe Acrobat 7.1 Standard Issue

I am running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit and IE9.
I have had Adobe Acrobat 7.1 Standard installed on my PC for a while without any problems.
Today, while trying to open some forms on a government website, I received the following message:
I clicked OK to install Adobe Reader X (10.1.2) and restarted my PC to complete the installation.
Once I logged back into my PC, every single icon on my taskbar, start menu, all programs, etc. had been changed to the Adobe Reader X (10.1.2) icon below, and when I clicked on any of them, I received a message that Adobe did not support that file/application.
The only way I was able to resolve this issue was to unistall Adobe Reader X (10.1.2) from my PC and everything went back to normal.
Is there a way to have both Adobe Acrobat 7.1 Standard and Adobe Reader X (10.1.2) installed on my PC without experiencing the above issue?
Please note that I need to have both programs, but I cannot afford to spend money to upgrade my current version of Adobe Acrobat.

Thanks for your input Michael Kazlow.
However, it appears that contrary to your statement, it is possible to run different versions of Acrobat and Reader at the same time.
I have found this Adobe's article outlining 4 diffent solutions to resolve the issue I was experiencing in my original request on this forum http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/860/cpsid_86069.html
In my particular case, I was able to resolve my issue by following the first solution in the article.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 standard installation issues

I have Adobe acrobat Standard 9 and I just reformatted my hard drive and tried to reinstall my product serial number 1016157926356497980XXXXX and it says that 2 of 2 licenses were already installed.  I don't know how that is possible given I have only installed it on this computer.  Please wipe the data clean so I can install again.
    Thanks.

    Hello dabigman52,
Adobe Forums are public so please don't post your product serial numbers. Currently I have edited that in your orginal post.
I would suggest to contact Adobe Customer Service regarding this# http://helpx.adobe.com/in/contact.html

ALL I WANT IS TO USE THE ABOBE ACROBAT

Thank you for your reply, and confirming that you never owned an earlier version. $139 is the price for an upgrade. On Adobe's web site, if you say "I want to buy: upgrade" you have to choose from another box where you pick "I own" and must choose between "Acrobat X Standard" and "Acrobat 9 Standard". Since you don't own either of them that is not a valid purchase. You should have chosen "I want to buy: Full" at a price of $299.
[Did something different happen on Adobe's web site; if so it would be interesting to hear, but the solution is still the same...]
Since what you have purchased isn't something you can run, you'll need to contact Adobe for a refund.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader ActiveX Zoom Issue

I can't seem to figure out a way to calculate the current zoom percentage.  When the document comes up it's auto sized for width.  However I have no way of knowing what the zoom value is.  How do I figure out what the current zoom is?  I'm using the Adobe Acrobat Reader ActiveX control.  I can't use the full version or anything that requires a royalty because this application will be distributed to thousands of clients.  So to the vendors that want me to buy their product don't waste your time...  Thank you in advance for any assistance.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Tab Issues

I created some lines in a form to underline text. They are now part of the tab order and I cannot exclude them.

I am not really an Adobe Acrobat person, but that seems odd that one they
are part of the tab order and two I cannot exclude them. I will try your
    suggestion.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard License Issue

Adobe 9 Standard software was bought pre-installed on my Dell workstation (Windows XP).  Now when trying to open the program fresh from the start bar, it tries to install the program.  Yet if I open a saved PDF, the program opens fine but displays an error message relating to a problem with my serial number, allowing me 30 days to resolve. Also the s/n which appears on the error message is not complete and looks different from the original disk I found.  Problem there is ou company bought several computers during that time and the CD disks may have become mixed.  What to do?  Thanks.
