Adobe Acrobat Patch 8.1.4
Need to deploy to all company machines want to create an SMS package. Is there an MSI file for install the patched version 8.1.4
I noticed multiple posting in this topic, but I have seen no solutions. This is a serious issue for me. I need to get my Adobe updated from 7.x to 8.1.4 asap using an automated install utility (Altiris) and would really like to avoid problems that often occur with installing two products (8.1.3 + upgrade to 8.1.4). Does anybody have a solution for this? Because there are others who have posted this exact question, surely Adobe has taken note, and have a 8.1.4 install package sitting around someplace!!! HELP!!!!

Issues with downloading Adobe Acrobat 8.3.1 Security Patch
Hi,
I am having issues downloading Adobe Acrobat 8.3.1 update security patch. I go to the Download Now & click on it, that brings up the File Download, where it states do you want to open or save and I click on the open and that brings up a window, showing the earth at one end, files being copied to a temporary file, but the percent of files being sent stays at 0 and there is no green bars on the status bar.
What is going on please? I was able to download the security patch for Adobe Reader 8.3.1, but the Acrobat isn't working.
Please help.
Thank you.Hi,
I am able to download the update file without any problem on my machine.
There may be some network glitch when you were last downloading the file. Try it once again. (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5239&fileID=4877)
However, if you still face any issues, download the file from here: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/8.x/8.3.1/misc/ -
I have tried updating and/or repairing Adobe Acrobat X standard but receive the error message "no valid sequence could be found for the set of patches" I am using adobe acrobat x standard (10.1.3) running windows 7.The software came pre-installed and so I have the CD key but no CD. Thanks Nick
Hi Anoop.
I have tried the Help>Check for updates option and receive the same error message accompanied by error code 1648 (not sure if this helps). I have tried Help>Repair & Control Panel>Repair and receive the same "no valid sequence could be found for the set of patches".

Why don't the Adobe Acrobat 10.1.6 and Adobe Reader 9.5.4 patches update the version on the exe file ? My vulnerability reports show these installations are not patched when they really are.
Hi All,
I also facing the same issue with Adobe reader 9.5.4 version update.
Previous Version installed: 9.5.3
AcroRd32.exe - File Version 9.5.3.305
AcroRd32.dll - File version 9.5.3.305
After update installation to 9.5.4, add or remove program shows latest version but exe and dll is not updated. Vulnerability assessment tools based on file version check identifies patch is still missing. Becomes a HEAD ACHE.
Adobe Reader 9 > Help > About Adobe Reader 9 - First shows version 9.5.4, if your click on it instead of showing AGM version next it shows version 9.5.3.305.
I tested for all previous versions of 9x, works fine in each update. Seems like patch is missing codes for updating file versions.
Waiting for an acknowledgement. -
Network admin install Adobe Acrobat X and patches
Ok so i have a brand new AIP. I run the Quarterly patch 10.0.1 by running the command: msiexec /a "D:\Adobe\AcrobatX10\AcroPro.msi" /p "D:\Adobe\updates\AcrobatUpd1001_Tier1.msp" next i try to run the patch for 10.1 and it says that the upgrade patch cannot be isntalled by the Windows installer service becasue the program to be upgraded may be missing or the the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. this happens if I try the Q patch 10.1 right on to my newly created AIP. I followed the steps here exactly so what gives?
8 Administrative Installation Points — Enterprise Administration GuideYou are attempting to use the "old" Acrobat 9.x AIP logic of applying each update in order. That is no longer the logic used for AIP starting with Adobe Acrobat X and continuing with Adobe Acrobat XI. With Acrobat X and Acrobat XI now you install the base 11.0.0 and then apply the latest Quarterly Update (at this time those are versions 10.1.12 and 11.0.09).
Have a look at the ETK for more information on Enterprise level installation use cases and other very useful valuable information: Acrobat-Reader Enterprise Toolkit Home -
Adobe Acrobat no longer works on my Apple 10.5.8 after upgrading latest patch?
After my Apple 10.5.8 OS automatically downloaded the latest Adobe Acrobat the other day, (after I ok'd it), it no longer works at all, can't open any pdf's at all. It says the following:
The currently selected language resources are not supported by the current version of Adobe Acrobat. Please reselect the language in the International System Preferences panel. I have been to this panel and nothing is working???
Does anyone know what has happened here? Thank youTry the Adobe Acrobat forum; this is the Reader one.

First question would be can you install the update manually on the target machine.
Also check the version of reader/acrobat installed on the target machine. -
Adobe Acrobat 8 - file updates not installing on Win 7 Professional
How do I install MSP file updates to Adobe Acrobat after downloading them? I have just installed Acrobat 8.0 from the original installation CD on a new PC running Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) and have downloaded the update to 8.1.0 to begin with, but on clicking it get the error messsage 'This patch could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package'. Updater is not working at all. It says it cannot find any updates. Even when I place the MSP file in the Updater folder to which it is supposed to download updates, it does not find updates. What is wrong? Why won't this patch install? Thank you! I really don't want to be stuck with 8.0.0 when I know that years of updates through to 8.3.1 are available, but for some reason they will not install intuitively.
Hi ,
Acrobat 8 is not compatible with Win 7. Please find the mentioned Kb: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-acrobat-family-produ cts.html#main_System_requirements_for_Acrobat_8_Pro showing system requirement for installing Acrobat 8. As Acrobat version 8 is very old product so I would recommend you to purchase Acrobat11 which has more enhanced features and functionalities.

I have a user getting an error Adobe Acrobat has stopped working how do I resolve this?
Adobe Acrobat XI Pro
This happens at a variety of times. Sometimes while scanning sometimes while bookmarking sometimes while adding pages from a file.
What I have done is made sure the program was up to date, a repair install, updated scanner drivers, replace the scanner with a different model, made sure the workstation was current with MS patches. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Thank you,
BradThanks for the reply. Sorry I wasn't clear the version is XI standard. And I did check for updates. The program is current. Still a few times a day the program will crash and my user will have to start over again on the document she is working on. Very frustrating for her and me.
The full error is:
Adobe Acrobat has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. -

Thanks in advanceOligarlicky,
Have you sent PaulRB a private message with your crash logs and reports? Try that out and see if you can get a response (make sure you reference this thread).
If you don't hear back, I would recommend reposting your issue in new thread with some more details specific to your application. This thread has been relatively inactive and you might get better exposure by starting fresh.

Will Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard Work With Adobe Reader 8.2.4?
Hello,
I have a question, but haven't found an answer to this yet.
Can anyone tell me please: Will Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard work with Adobe Reader 8.2.4?
I had Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard on my computer & it was working with Adobe Reader 8, but don't remember what the version it was.
I was using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard to scan very old family pictures & documents & I realize that this version of Acrobat is outdated.
To make a long story short, my computer had crashed, so we built another computer & just replaced the hard drive. When I went to Adobe, I had to download the newer version of Reader 9.0 & it didn't work with Acrobat 6.0., so I removed Adobe Reader 9 & I found Adobe Reader 8.0 & have downloaded the patches, so now I have Adobe Reader 8.2.4 back on board.
Thank you.Adobe doesn't recommend any version of Reader with any version of Acrobat on Windows. It will cause problems. It just is a matter of how and when. The problem has to do with shared resources causing conflicts. If you have Acrobat 8, you can update it to Acrobat 8.2.4. You must apply the updates sequentially.

Adobe Acrobat 9.4.5 | Outlook 2010 | Windows 64 bit
In other versions of Acrobat you were able to create PDF files of complete file folders within Outlook. Originally when Office 2010 came out the Adobe Icon was not available and at that time I checked to see if there was a ‘fix / work around’ for it. Yesterday, I looked once again and it appears this situation has not been rectified for Adobe Acrobat 9.4.5, Outlook 2010, Windows 64 bit. After an extensively searching, it appears Nuance has a PDF program ‘Converter Professional 7’ which will convert the complete file folders within Outlook. BUT I am wondering if Adobe ever fixed this & if not when do they plan on providing a patch with will?

Adobe's Acrobat updates follow a quarterly release schedule.
That puts the next round of updates in the September time frame.
Aside from the product update page John provided, updates are tracked at this Adobe Blog: http://blogs.adobe.com/psirt/
Keep in mind that Acrobat X is the current commercial release. Acrobat X at 10.1.0 provides some Windows 7 64-bit support via PDFMaker.
PDFMaker compatible applications, for Acrobat 6 through X are identified here:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/333/333504.html
As John posted, Windows 7 32-bit support (&, with 10.1.0 some 64-bit support) is provided by Acrobat X.
Looking at past practices I'd be rather surprised if any update to Acrobat 9.x, during the remainder of its support life, provided 64-bit support.
Acrobat's support life may be viewed here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/products/enterprise/eol/eol_matrix.html#86
An unfortunate reality is that with migration to a new OS one has to also migrate to new applications sooner or later.
Navigated that tidal ebb & surge from Atari 1040STs & Amigas to DOS (of various flavors) & through the cyclic releases of Windows.
With that said one can always submit a request via Adobe's official request form at:

I am running windows XP SP3 and have Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard installed on my system.
I am attempting up install version 9 standard with all the updates (9.1 through 9.4). I have used the Csutomization Wizard 9 to assist in this process and I have also downloaded and save all the update files in the same folder as the AcroStan.msi file. Below is my setup.ini file contents. when I run setup I get the following message "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid." Any help would be apprciated.
