Adobe Acrobat, protecting Images in a Fillable form?

I am a graphic designer and am using Adobe Acrobat X pro to create fillable invitations, labels and such
what I want is that my client cannot print the file without filling "required" field.....
Also , no one can edit it even if they open via acrobat pro
or maybe some way I can protect my images from printing without text?
One more question
How can i make a floating textbox, which increases if text increases and is not fixed size?
Thank you so much
Marie

Hi Marie,
Here is a more relevant earlier thread:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/3778703#3778703
In post no. 3 of that thread, Gilad D provided the following script:
     if (getField("Account1").value=="" || getField("Account2").value=="")
     app.alert("Please fill out the following fields:  Account 1, Account 2.",3);
You replace "AccountX" with your form's field name(s).
In Acrobat 9, this is how you create a WillPrint document action:
1. Choose Advanced > Document Processing > Set Document Actions.
2. Highlight Document Will Print.
3. Click Edit
4. Paste the script into the window and click OK.
I'm not sure if it is the same in Acrobat X, but give it a try.
The script will work if they click the print icon in the toolbar or if they choose File > Print.
Note that the document will still print, but they will get an alert informing them of which fields are required. The user will always be able to print a document if they click the print icon or choose File > Print. If you want to prevent them from printing, then you need to get them to click a print button that you have created and that includes a script.
You can do the same thing for a Will Save action.

Hello. I have adobe forms and received the alert that it will be ending in July. Then I received an email about Adobe Acrobat XI Pro which can create forms. I signed up for the free trial and when I began to make a new form it brings me back to Adobe Forms. My question is, when Adobe Forms ends on July 28th will Adobe Acrobat XI Pro be able to create forms or will it now? and if not, then why is adobe advertising for it still?

What you're calling "Adobe Forms" is really Adobe FormsCentral. The FormsCentral service is indeed going away soon, but you can always create PDF forms (AcroForms) with Acrobat. Acrobat also comes with a desktop version of the FormsCentral desiger, which can be used to create simple PDF forms that can be used apart from the FormsCentral service. So you'll no longer be able to create and host web forms with the FormsCentral service or use PDF forms with the FormsCentral service. You will be able to create standalone PDF forms with Acrobat and simple PDF forms with the FormsCentral desktop app.

I opened Adobe Acrobate XI Standard to create a form.  I then selected From Template, which took me to Adobe FormsCentral Online.  However, I think the form is an HTML web form.  All I wanted was a regular PDF form that I could email my co-workers for an internal project we're colletively working on.  Now I see that FormsCentral is going away and I can't get my doc to save as a PDF without an upgrade?  Help

You should be able to log into the online Formscentral Acrobat XI air app and see your doc there. From there you would need to save it out as a PDF without a submit button to have it continue to work past July. If you don't see your online form(s) please let me know the adobeID you use to log into the service as well as the form name that is missing and I will look into it for you.

  • Does the Trial version of Adobe FormsCentral allow you to create Fillable forms

I just downloaded the trial version of Adobe XI Pro. I wanted to create fillable forms that I can save, or use online for people to submit but the option to create those types of forms are GRAYED out. Does that mean that the full version would allow me to do this but this feature is not allowed on the Trial version?
please email your responses to [email protected]
    Thanks!

Exactly which option is grayed out? In Acrobat 11, it will either direct you to create "From Scratch or Template" or "From Existing Document". The first option will cause the FormsCentral app to launch (if it's installed) and the other will direct you to create/edit and AcroForm in Acrobat. You can also simply open a PDF in Acrobat and select "Tools > Forms > Edit" to go into form editing mode where you can add/edit fields.

  • Adobe Acrobat 6.0 CE Standard edited forms do not display fields

I have a user who has Adobe Acrobat 6.0 CE Standard, she uses it to fill out an editable form created with Adobe and send it to clients. When this form is saved and attached to an e-mail, anyone who recieves it and opens it in Reader 9.0 the fields that were edited do not display. However, If It is sent through the "Send by e-mail for review" option under the "File" menu option in the Adobe Acrobat 6.0 CE. It arrives and opens up with the input data in the fields.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is and why It cannopt be opened in Reader if just sent as an attachment in Outlook?

    Lolanda,
Do you know if your users that cannot use the forms have access to the ADSCerts view in the Key Storage service?  Check out slide 26 in the below link:

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Freezes On LiveCycle Designer Form

Adobe Acrobat XI randomly freezes when filling out form fields in a specific PDF designed by myself in LiveCycle Designer 11.
The Windows Event Log sometimes records the following:
    Error
    11/8/2013 4:09:00 PM
    Application Error
    1000
    (100)
"Faulting application name: Acrobat.exe, version: 11.0.4.63, time stamp: 0x52288928
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x98006f09
    Faulting process id: 0x380
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cedcc3eebf5e0b
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe
    Faulting module path: unknown
    Report Id: fcca7abe-48b9-11e3-b2d4-bc305bfc853b"
This indicates a hard crash, but when I've seen the issue it's the Acrobat window becoming grayed out and unresponsive (in the typical Windows fashion).
The staff member who regularly uses the PDF form indicates he's constantly having to deal with this. I've confirmed the freeze once while shadowing him for the day.
In terms of the PDF itself there's not much special-- four (4) pages filled with a lot of text, drop down and checkboxes, and three buttons that contain short snippets of code that likely never run.
What gives? How does Acrobat crash on such a straightforward PDF?

If this only happens for one users Acrobat you should try to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat.
There is a tool from Adobe Labs that will fix registry issues and other problems that can cause an unexspected app crash.
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
If you see the problem on different machines, it's worth to let someone check your form.

  • I use program PDF Converter Professional. When downloading from the net I want to use Adobe Acrobat Reader to open downloaded pdf forms. Adobe Acrobat is my default program but Firefox keeps using PDF Converter. How do I change this?

Acrobat Reader is the default program for all variants of pdf files, both in Windows 7 and in Firefox.

So you have a trial version of Acrobat (that is not activated) installed?  If so, uninstall it.
Do you also have Adobe Reader installed?  If so, you need to open it once and accept the EULA.

  • Fillable forms: error in boxes

Hello. This is my first question in this forums. I don't know a lot about Adobe Acrobat, and maybe this is a noob question, but whatever. Any help will be welcome.
I have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and some fillable forms with those boxes you click and an "X" appears. When you click again, the box reverts to its original state (the "X" disappears).
At least this is the expected result, and the one I get in my brother's computer (Windows XP). I have Windows 7. When trying to use the forms in my own computer, no matter how many times I click in the boxes, the "X" doesn't appear at all. This happens with many forms, but surprisingly enough, there are also other forms that work perfectly.
Does anybody know what is the problem I'm having?

Here are a couple of links that might help you.
Also, if you wouldn't mind, you could send me the pdf and I can see if I can figure anything out?
How do you reset Acrobat pro to original preference settings
    Checkbox "checks" not showing up
We had some issues with check boxes in excel a while back that were tied to the user profile. If you could, try to log in to your computer as another user and view the form.

  • Fillable forms - font reduction?

I am using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro to create fillable forms that will be sent via email to clients.  In a free form response box, is it possible to set the font size to reduce as a client types so that their full response will be captured versus run up against a space limit?  Thank you.

That's odd, it should work. So is that Reader Touch, or the regular desktop version? If Touch, it might be a bug and you should consider reporting it: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • How do I send a PDF fillable form from Adobe Reader Acrobat?

I just installed Adobe Reader in my iPad to send a fillable form but as I sent it out the form is received blank by the recipient.  How do I save the PDF fillable form and send it out with the filled out information.  I am able to save it in Acrobat but for some reason I send the form but the recipient receives it blank.  What can I do?  Thank you for your help.

Your recipient needs to use Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to reliably view a filled form. Chances are they are using a third-party, substandard PDF reader like Apple Preview. Adobe Reader is a free download; if necessary, you could provide them a link from the Adobe website.

  • Why can't users save data in fillable form created in Adobe Acrobat X Pro?

I have created a fillable pdf form in Adobe Acrobat X Pro and have everything working great.  When I send it to users they can fill in all of the information, but they can not save the data in the form.  I have followed these instructions before I send the form to the users:  (Acrobat Pro) Type in non-fillable forms (File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features.
The form includes text fields, radio buttons, e-signatures (x).
I have researched for days, spoke to countless "Adobe Chat Room Techs" and still have no idea what I am doing wrong.
I am so desperate for help.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I've created a form in LiveCycle Designer & Acrobat X, and saved it.
However, when I open it up with Adobe Reader XI, I get the following message
    What am I doing wrong?
This used to be a relatively simple process, and now I'm completely confused with how I enable saving forms that others have filled out.
If I'm understanding what has been written in this thread previously, this is now normal functionality that doesn't require special settings like it had previously.
Some help would be greatly appreciated.

  • USING FORM BUTTONS IN ADOBE ACROBAT/READER

Hello, I am using Adobe Acrobat Std XI to create a form that Adobe Readers will be filling in.  Everything works in the form except for the button I inserted to allow the user to reset/clear the form. The button works fine in Acrobat but it is no working in Reader.  I have tried saving the file as Reader Extended version, I have tried the file protected and not protected and I cannot get the button to work in Reader. Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong or is this simply because I'm working with Acrobat XI Standard and not Pro?
    Thank you.

Hopefully the above link will work for you.  I just tested it and it seems to work fine.  The reset button is on the second page of the form.
Thank you both, I really appreciate your time and help with this.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - distributed form - unreadable reponses

Have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - created a distributed form for emailing - emailed it to parents and most files come back readable - have 4 file that are not readable - they will print okay but they are not readable by the "responses" files - tried to save  them a a new pdf file but new saved files also came back unreadable by responses file. The readable files are of a size 257K whereas the non-readable file sizes are much smaller - any ideas as to what is happening to these?

The files may have been filed out on a Mac using Preview not Reader. Preview is known to cause problem wrt form fields.
