Adobe Captivate 5- Color Issues (excel 2007)

Please help me!
I am using Adobe Captivate 5 and am recording 2007 excel.  When I have completed the movements, the images and background appear to be fine.
As soon as I preview or publish the colours of the cells and objects (e.g. highlight box) get mixed up:
Either the colors start moving into different areas, or dissapear or randomly move as the screen moves (This image was taken when the screen wasn't moving).  Is this a software bug? Anyone had the same issue? Any way to resolve this?
I appreciate the help!

Hello,
Could you check the video quality of the slides? You find this in the Properties panel of the slide, region General. Perhaps it is set to 'Low, 8-bit. Try to change to one of the other settings. On the Captivate blog you'll find a great explanation about this Video Quality. Have a look at:

I am trying to change series color using Excel 2007 with ActiveX as below. It seems the color cannot be controlled correctly. For example, if I chosse red color, my curve will be changed to blue. Any ideas?

    Xubuli,
I looked into your question and confirmed that Border.Color is not located under the Excel.Series library. Instead, you must locate it under _Worksheet.UsedRange as seen below in the figure. I am attaching the VI file where I located the the Border.Color property node, and I am also including a SubVI on the block diagram that goes into explicitly set the cell color and border. This SubVI can be found under Programming>>Report Generation>>Excel Specific>>Excel Format>>Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi, if you have the Report Generation Toolkit installed. I hope this helps.

  • Adobe Captivate 4 Typing Issue

    Hi,
I am facing an issue related to typing in Captive 4 Training and Assessment files. After publishing the files, if I try to enter something in text entry fields, the files hang if I press the keys softly. Until and unless, I type the words tightly, Captivate does not accept the typed words. Because of this, the files hang at numerous places. I have tried to alter the typing settings, e, nothing works. If anyone has faced this problem or knows the solution to it, please let me know.
    Regards,
    Rohan

    Hi there
Are you referring to the intensity with which you strike the keys? That would seem really odd. Keyboards are just mechanical devices that generate codes when pressed. Unless you have some odd keyboard that is pressure sensitive.
Have you tried typing into perhaps Windows Notepad and do you note the same behavior there?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Adobe Captivate 5 - Recording Issues

I have recently put together a 15 question quiz using Captivate 5 and am having issues with what it records at the back end. I have checked the forum and can find an answer to my question however this was posted back in 2010 and I didn;t even have Captivate installed at that point so don't think this is the issue. I have checked my quiz preferences a number of times to ensure that I have them set correctly and I can;t see anything wrong with them at all however, the course still reports a score out of 150 points, so for example, on my forst attempt I answered 8 out of 15 questions correct and the final page of the quiz told me I had scored 53% yet a score of 80 points was sent back to the learning system. Can anyone please help?

    Hello and welcome,
I have no longer 5 on my machine (only 5.5, 6.1 and 7.0.1) but did you check the Advanced Interaction panel (F9)? It will show you all scored objects and the maximum possible score. Maybe you have scored objects as well as question slides.
Some LMS's don't accept scores above 100. Can you either ty to lower the score per question (10 to 5) and/or send percentage instead of total score? 80/150 is 53%, so the score sent is consistent with the values of the quizzing system variables you are seeing on the score slide. Maybe just confusion between % and points?

  • Adobe Captivate 4 Quiz Issues

My Clear button will not clear the answer if the wrong answer is selected. Once a user selects an answer, it can't be changed. How do I fix this?
The Continue button on the Quiz Results slide does not continue. How do I fix this?

    Hello,
Formatting Question slides in CP is sometimes a pain. I cannot give you a proper answer, but it would be great if you filed a feature request to the team to have more control over the styles used in this dropdown list (link is in the main page of this forum). If we are many to ask for such enhancements, it will get higher on the priority list.
As you probably discovered, in the Properties of the dropdown lists in the Matching Question slide you can only change font and color, not font size. My proper workaround is choosing a font that gives the best result, some fonts really look bigger than others. This is not always consistent with the styles in the rest of the movie, but I adapt all the Text in Question slides to this choosen font.
Sorry not to be able to help you. Question slides are in the folder, but in SWC-format, and I cannot open those files, even though I have Flash CS4 installed. Perhaps a Flash-wise guy will pop in to help you.

  • Poor performance of BEx Analyzer in excel 2007

    Hi all,
after upgrading my office to version 2007, BEx Analyzer runs very slowly. The query is executed fast at the server but the excel visualisation of data in the workbook takes a lot of time. There is no problem on other computers with office 2003.
I have gone through all the notes but couldn't find anu solution.
Do I have to disable something in excel?
The performance doesn't have anything to do with my system spec (IBM T61 with 3 gig of RAM).
    Thanks for any help.
    Jan

We are getting similar issues excel 2007 takes ages to visualise the results of the bw query compared to excel 2003.
It is particularly an issue on very large excel files 10MB+.
I dont think many business have gone for this combination so far, the response I have from SAP is that it is a microsoft issue.
No resolution so far other than to put users back to office 2003.

  • SSRS 2012 Conditional Formatting Color Issues When Exporting to Excel

    Hi all,
We recently upgraded to SQL 2012 from SQL2008 R2. I'm having a strange issue with SSRS2012.
One of the report has conditional formattings on cell background colors. Everything works fine when render the report in browser or preview mode. However, the conditional formatting stop working when export the report to Excel (no issues if
export to pdf). All cells are high-lightened with pre-defined color although it should only high-lighten those cells that fulfil the condition.
Has someone encountered this issue before ? Thanks for any help.

    Hi ZZ02,
I have test the scenario in my testing environment, however, everything goes well when exporting to Excel format. The issue might be related to the expression for the conditional background color. To make further analysis, please post the expression as well
    as the report design structure.
Additionally, in SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services, the Excel rendering extension renders a report to the native format of Microsoft Excel 2007-2010, the format of which is ExcelOpenXML. By default, the previous version of the Excel rendering extension,
compatible with Microsoft Excel 2003, is disabled. At this time, I suggest that you enable the Excel 2003 rendering extension by modifying the RSReportServer.config file. After that, the Excel 2003 rendering format will be available on report manager (not
available in Report Designer). So, please export the report from report manager and check the result again.
For more information about enable the Excel 2003 rendering extension, please see:

  • Excel 2007 to Acrobat 9 Pro cell fill / font issue

When attempting to convert a workbook from Excel 2007 to a pdf using Acrobat 9 Pro, the cell font color prints slightly lighter than the cell fill color, even when the colors are the same - amber, green or red.  Never had an issue previously until now.  Not visible within the file, only when printing.  Any insight or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your reply Bill@VT.  I am converting using the Acrobat addin in Excel.  I read your e-mail and played with some of the Excel sheets.  The problem seems to arise when I am converting a landscape page that has been reduced to fit on one page whether by percentage or by fit to x pages by x pages.  I have tried various settings and in print preview they all look just fine but once I click the convert but the page size grows.  I am wondering if this is not an Acrobat problem but rather an Excel problem.

  • Excel 2007 cell color changes when copying to other docum. using clipboard

    Hi,
There is excel 2007 document which is generated by SAP. I think it contains
some VB macros and some grouping.
The problem is that if I select something from that document, copy that and
paste to another excel 2007 document - colors get inverted somehow - for
example white cell becomes red cell (backgroud color I mean), other
    background colors changes as well.
If I open this xlsx document using excel 2003 (it converts document using
compatibility pack) the issue is gone - I can copy contents to other excel
2003 document without losing any format info.
The problem is that our users all use office 2007.
What could couse this behaviour ?
    thanks in advance

    dear friend,
    you would do:
    1. search SAP Notes;
    2. check out the updates/patches for your MS Office;
    3. replicate it on another computer/another sap user (make sure it is a local issue)
    good luck!

  • Excel 2007 pie chart conversion issue

I'm having issues converting my Excel 2007 spreadsheet that contains several pie charts into pdf. It will convert fine for everything but the pie charts. Their edges or outlines look perfect in Excel and the print preview, but once converted to pdf they're all choppy and rough looking. How can I fix this, as it makes the pdf look very unprofessional. I'm on Vista with all the latest updated, use office 2007 with all updates installed and adobe acrobat 8 with all the updates. I tried converting it through the acrobat feature in excel, as well as the print to pdf option. I even went so far to reinstall office 2003, with the same result. the pies were looking a bit smoother, but still way too choppy. how can i get adobe to convert perfect circular pie charts?
    thanks!

From the ribbon>Acrobat>Create PDF.  This gives me the ability to choose which tabs I want to include in the report.
I made PDF Printer my default and it worked!  Thanks!
Why do you think my ribbon function doesn't work?

  • Excel 2007 Formatting Issues When Making PDF

Running Excel 2007 on XP Pro. When I make a pdf file from an existing Excel file in Excel 2007 (originally created in Excel 2000), a lot of the formatting changes. Cells that were aligned to the center are now aligned to the top or bottom with no rhyme or reason.
I would hate to have to go through and fix all the alignment problems in Excel 2007.
Any suggestions or has anybody else had this problem?

Not so much Excel (or, at least not so much that I remember) but I've read a
LOT of messages about problems with Word'07
You might want to check and make sure you have all MS Office updates installed, to fix any known bugs... plus make sure your version of Acrobat is fully up to date

  • ALV to EXCEL-2007 issue

We are in the midst of changing over from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007.
We are seeing an issue in Excel 2007 with the use of the Microsoft Excel View option from the ALV output.
When the Excel view comes up, the Send button is grayed out. The users have to save the file to their PC and then re-open it before they can e-mail it. The Send button works for those that are still using Excel 2003.
If they use List-Export-Spreadsheet-Table-Microsoft Excel the Send button is there, but not all of our ALV report have this as an option.
Are there any thoughts on how to activate the Send button when using the Microsoft Excel View?

Before contacting OSS, search for notes. there are a number related to Excel 2007.

  • Adobe v9 on W7 and office 2007. cannot create PDF from MS word using Adobe. But can from Excel, PPT

Adobe v9 on W7 and office 2007. cannot create PDF from MS word using Adobe. But can from Excel, PPT and other MS office apps. Reinslalled Adobe, updated Office, and Adobe no help! Also I can create a pdf from the MS Word and it is using the Adobe 9. So one would think that's good. No it isn't when you need to combine different files to one big PDF document. Any suggetions? Thank you

Yes, I’m saying that I can in WORD use “Save As ADOBE pdf” but cannot in ADOBE create a pdf file from a WORD (.doc or .docx) document. While I can from other MS Office apps like Excel and PowerPoint.
I understand I can use “work around” and save doc in WORD as pdf then compile all files needed (xml, ppt, pdf) in the ADOBE v9. to one big pdf document. But that is not the point of this post.
