Adobe CS6 Licence Activation

I have a valid Abobe CS6 licence for 6 users. I have installed and activated this on two machines with no problems. On the third machine, when I tried to activate / register this product, I get this error message :- "We are unable to validate this serail number for CS6 Master Collection. Please contact Customer Support".  Please advise a way forward.

please follow the below mentioned steps to fix the issue
If you are using Windows Machine please try these steps
1. Open run and type drivers and enter.
2. Look for etc folder.
3. Inside etc folder you will get hosts file please open it using notepad. if you find any entries follow this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034 to fix the hosts files.
Restart the Computer to complete the fix.
Try installing the Software. It should work fine.
For Mac
1.Click Go
2. Go to Folder-type /etc
3. Open hosts file and if entries are there then delete all entries which says Adobe in it then save it.
4. Try installing the software again and it should work.
If you are not able to save the Hosts file after making changes please make a copy of hosts file on the desktop then make the required changes and replace with the one in etc folder. It will ask to authenticate and click replace to complete.

    We use Vmware Horizon Mirage to keep our images up to date and are running into an issue with CS6 activations. Basically with Mirage we can make changes to a Base layer then push those changes to our machines, but we found a couple of years ago with CS4 that this "updating" process would strip out the licensing and activation every time we updated the base layer. So after tons and tons of digging we found the folder (c:\ProgramData\FLEXnet) and registry entry(Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\10.0\AdobeViewer) that we needed to tell Mirage not to mess with and this fixed the issue for CS4. So now that we've moved to CS6 we are having the same issues and need to find the coordinating folders and files, I've looked in the usual areas but I'm assuming it's completely different since Adobe changed their activation processes up(which suck by the way). Would anyone happen to know these off the top of your head?

    Oh I see,
    The window looks so similar to other activation windows, I had only ever seen the DPS login for CS5 which was in the Panel.
    Be good for this window to have some text that relates to DPS. Maybe Sign in to DPS or you must sign in with an Adobe ID to use the Digital Publishing Suite and the Folio Builder.

    Good Afternoon
    We are having issues with Adobe Creative suite keeping losing the licence key. It works if you re-enter the key but the problem comes back.
    We have one user who has so many issues we wiped and reloaded her laptop and still have the problem, We are having staff going on trips and not being able to use this software as we (the IT department) don't give out serial numbers for software but I am now being asked for these frequently.
    Does anyone have any ideas or can help? If adobe are monitoring then this needs sorting.

    CS6 perpetual Mac is version 13.0.6 Windows is version 13.0.1.3 Subscription cloud version is 13.1.2.  If you have a cloud subscription and a perpetual licence you would not be able to have both version install at the same time on same machine. What does your Creative Cloud desktop application show and if you start CS6 if the flash screen shows or you can get to menu Help>About Photoshop what version i shown 13.0.6  or 13.0.1.3 or 13.1.2?

    no.
    there are no compatibility problems with cc, cc 2014 apps and your older versions.  only acrobat has some compatibility issues with older versions.
    in any case, make sure your cs6 serial number is secure so you can always reinstall on another computer or fix a corrupted installation.

    Leanprint is not working for me saying that the Adobe Leanprint licence is active on 2 other computers (?) and that the activation period for this additional computer has expired.  I recently purchased a new computer with these features.  Can you advise how to reactivate Leanprint?

    Nous rencontrons un petit problème sur un seul poste des dix ordinateurs présents de notre société : l'ensemble des logiciels d'adobe CS6 ne se lancent pas. Le double click sur n'importe quelle icone Indesign, photoshop ou illustrator ne mène strictement à rien.
    Le programme lancé n'apparait ni dans les processus, ni dans l'historique d'activité.
    Rien de rien.
    Nos licences sont valides, et aucun message d'erreur n'apparaît.
    Ca parle à quelqu'un ?
    j'ai déjà essayé de redémarrer trente fois, deux points de sauvegarde, toutes les mises à jour Java et autres que mon collègue avait négligé de faire et j'ai tenté d'appeler mon service client sans succès pour le moment (paus déj oblige).

    Pour info j'ai fini par trouver une solution sans passer par les solutions extrêmes. Et le démarrage sans échec ne donnait rien car spécifiquement, les applications CS ne lancaient absoluement aucun process lors des tentatives d'utilisation.
    Il s'agissait en réalité vraisemblablement d'un souci de certificat.
    Concrètement, j'ai téléchargé par le biais d'un autre ordi que le mien les outils type Adobe manager, les ai lancé sur la machine en question pour installation (impossible de les télécharger moi même depuis le poste à problèmes) et ai lutté pour reconnecté mon compte. L'outil de management a ensuite procédé aux MAJ qui semblaient faire défaut et comme par magie tout s'est relancé.
    Mon collègue avait toujours scrupuleusement refusé toutes les MAJ qui lui étaient proposées (notamment JAVA) ce qui pourrait avoir créé ce problème.
    Voilà voilà !

  • Adobe CS6 randomly asks for reactivation (Deployed using AAMEE 3.1)

    Hi All
    We've deployed Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium using AAMEE 3.1 to about 500 workstation across our school campus.  However, we're having a really weird issue where either the licensing screen will randomly pop up asking for reactivation (7 days) or the program requested will just fail to run.  If I try to reactivate using the wizard onscreen it says I don't have a valid internet connection.  This causes a lot of frustration for our users (and me!!)
    The only work around I found to it is to re-serialize using a serialization package made with AAMEE.  I'm considering adding it to a start-up script to re-serialize every PC when they are booted up each day but it it seems ridiculous to need to do this.  I thought AAMEE removed all activation checks and prompts, this doesn't seem to be the case here??
    I've had a look around the forums and while there are similar issues I haven't found a resolution to this, any help/suggestions would be much appreciated!

    you should be able to package product and their updates via AAMEE 3.1. if some package doesnt contain updates, you can also modify the package using AAMEE and add updates to it.
    please share PDApp.log and installer log file generate on client machine. For details of location please refer to page 112-113 in Enterprise deployment guide.

  • How can I backup Adobe's software activation?

    I have purchased Adobe Creative Suite CS6 for Windows and am using it on my desktop and notebook computer. This is the maximum number of computers I'm allowed to use it on. Since the software has an activation and deactivation feature and requires an internet connection, I assume that an activation on a third computer would not be possible. So I really have to make sure that I don't lose any of the two systems because I'd also lose one activation with it. (Or I'd need to mess with the support which I'm trying to avoid.)
    Today I've noticed that my notebook shows strange error messages. Applications were missing or would not start due to wrong reasons (not compatible with x64, although this was specificly the x64 version, and it's always worked fine). I ran a chkdsk and it fixed tons or filesystem errors. Now other programs are missing and I can't even install any new ones... Unfortunately I noticed the error while trying to perform a Windows system backup. That stupid thing deleted the old version and messed up the new one. So I haven't got any right now. There's also no system restore points, so I can only reinstall the system.
    Don't worry, no user data is lost, but I'm kind of lucky that Photoshop still started and I could deactivate it before that wouldn't work anymore as well. (Computer systems often die slowly...)
    So my question is: What files or registry keys do I need to copy to a safe location to backup Adobe's software activation on my computer? Would it be possible to restore such a backup on the very same hardware (maybe another disk drive in case the previous one died) but with a freshly installed Windows (same version)? I've learned several times that I cannot rely on a complete system image backup. The only backups that have ever worked 100% reliably for me were those where I copied files to a known location in a known format. But that doesn't include the activation I guess. I'd like to know where it is located so that I can perform a decent backup of it.

    As long as nothing in your computer has changed, a system backup/restore will keep the activation. There are various things that activation looks at to produce the activation key, MAC address & HD are two of the obvious ones (there are more). So, as long as the backup is used to resotre on the same hardware, you shouldn't have to worry about re-activation.
    If the computer breaks and you need to install on a new computer, you'll need to contact the Adobe Activation customer service to reset your activations. For more info see: Activation, deactivation | Adobe products

Everything worked like a charm until the hard drive, 1Tb, developed a bad sector and the Apple Store reinstalled a new one as I had extended warranty with them. They recycled the drive immediately (like a fool I didn't ask for it back to get the data off it.) But luckily I have all my data on CrashPlan. I downloaded it and it worked great except I downloaded it to the desktop and not the original location so it got squirrely. I also have an external 1.5Tb drive that I wanted to make bootable so I installed Mavericks 10.9.3 . I then went ahead and installed it on the newly installed drive too.
    I think that because I have a new drive Adobe thinks I have a news computer. I bought the 27" Mac brand new from Ebay and it came loaded with software, including CS6. I have a serial number for CS6 but Adobe said it wasn't valid. (I have owned CS2, CS4 and now CS6 which came preloaded onto the Mac by the seller who told me that the software was registered to the Mac???
    I am going to re-download the backup but this time to the original location (I still don't think it will work with Adobe. What can I do about this?

It'll successfully download, then once I click to install, it'll install and then prompt me to enter my serial #, after that it says my serial # is valid but the qualifying product cannot be found on the computer. It gives me an option to choose the product i own in a drop down menu and alongside to enter the serial number for the product. The drop down menu doesn't even list the product I bought. I'm stuck at this point, please help!!!

    No, if you had the CS5 installed you would not have to do the confirmation of having the qualifying version, but I do not recommend installing CS5 just for that.  MAke sure you are providing the CS5 serial number and not the CS6 number for the qualifying version information.  If you continue to have a problem try contacting Adobe Support thru chat and they should be able to resolve the matter with you.

    Does anyone have anything to report on Adobe CS6 running slowly on Mavericks?
    Saving a file in Photoshop takes far too long, compared to Mountain Lion.  I may just re-install Mountain Lion and leave it at that.
    I didn't bother with Yosemite as I understand Adobe CS wasn't performing well.

    In fact everything seems to "lag" a bit with Mavericks.  Open the Applications and takes and extra second or two to load each of the individual application icons. I've never seen that before!

    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
