Adobe Form - Cannot add Javasript codes on Master Pages

Hi Experts - please help
Could someone please tell me Why (or How) JavaScript cannot be plave on a Master Page - I have some Javascript codes here working fine on a subform page - but when I try to put them on a Master page page - the JavaScript editor is greyed out - unenable me to put the codes in - If I put the codes in the subform in the Master page - nothing work - ??
Should I use xfa.layout...for the resolveNodes ???

Hello,
Not sure what the problem could be, but here are few hints:
1) We have placed JavaScript code in the Master pages before, and it worked fine.
2) We are using Adobe LiveCycle Designer Version 7.1.
3) Remember, you can't put JavaScript code for the ContentArea of the Masterpage, So try adding a blank subform, and place some test code (xfa.host.Messagebox....) in the following event: layout:ready

Adobe Form Error: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The request...

When trying to run an Adobe Form webdynpro app, I am receiving the following error:
Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://localhost:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document"
I have checked the ADS test at <server:port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config; the test did return the version number.
Does anyone have any other ideas of what I should check?
Also, why is it running a url with "localhost" in it? If this is running on the java was server, then I guess that could make sense. But if the url request is requesting something from localhost, isn't that my computer? I guess it depends on if this is a server request or a client request. I hope this is a server request.

First, I think config is okay. I can run the web service under my id okay.
Second, I am not sure what the impact is having the build done locally.
I am building and deploying locally in NWDS to my local portal. But then I am sending the EAR file to the system admin to deploy to my dev server (I am doing this because they will not give out the SDM password. And, I am waiting on the NWDI setup to be complete; when that is complete I will let NWDI deploy to the dev portal.)
Incidentally, I am receiving this error on the dev server, not my local portal. (I have tried running on my local portal, but I am getting a socket timeout error. But this is interesting, because I can run other webdynpro non-Adobe apps. I am not tracking down this error at this point because I am really just interested in the dev server. If I get past the 401 error on the dev server, and then get the socket timout issue...then I will worry about it.)

ADOBE Forms Central - add and remove rows (PDF Form)

Hello, I am currently evaluating ‘ADOBE Forms Central' to set up a form with editable fields. I have set up a test form in ADOBE Forms Central and was unable to insert an option to add and remove rows similar to the print screen attached. Is this possible to do using ADOBE Forms Central or should I be using

A dynamic XFA PDF form can do this. You can create such forms with LiveCycle Designer, which was included with the Windows version of Acrobat Pro prior to version 11. It is now a separate product.
XFA forms can't be used with FormsCentral, however, only Acroforms can.

Adobe LiveCycle Access Field in Subform inside Master Page

Hello,
I have a Dynamic PDF document created in LiveCycle 8.2 with the following structure
topmostSubform
          (Master Pages)
                  Page1
                        sfHeader
                               txtName
When I try to assign the value, using C# language, to the txtName I'm getting a null exception.
It looks that my code can't recognize the hierarchy structure.
I tried the following options and none of them worked
topmostSubform[0].#pageSet[0].Page1[0].sfHeader[0].txtName[0]"
topmostSubform[0].pageSet[0].Page1[0].sfHeader[0].txtName[0]"
topmostSubform[0].Page1[0].sfHeader[0].txtName[0]"

I'm using Dynamic PDF Merger by ceTe Software.
Unfortunately this product is not good to work with dynamic pdf forms.
I also tried to use iTextSharp. So far no luck.
I would truly appreciate if you can give me any other suggestions.
I also wonder if there is an option to have a dynamic pdf files it should be the way to map data to the fields on this form?

How do I colour the background on my form and add a header to each page

I have created a 4 page form. HI want to have each page a light cream but can not finure out how to add colour and I want the header to show on each page. Any ideas?

Please try the steps mentioned below to add color and headed and footer.
Once you are in the design view,
1) Click on the Option >Click to Add Header to add Header.
2) Click on forms setup to change to color of the form.

How to Add App Part to Master Page OR Page Layout

I have a very simple requirement.
I need to add an app part on left nav so that it appears on all the pages. E.g. Its a calendar app which shows holidays.
If its not doable in master page i left with no choice to add it in page layout.
But I dont find it in Snippets within Page Layouts or master page...
Is there any way?

Although not advisable to add webparts directly to masterpages but there are options using delegates to do so.

Cannot Change SQL Query in Master page

I am testing out Flex 3 and when I add a new master
page and try to click the "Edit Master Page" button to write a query, nothing happens. Any ideas?

Cannot ADD Attachments per your support page. Why?

Followed instructions on your 'How to Add Attachments to a Message' page. Have 'browsed' to location of the 'file'-actually a folder
'I wish to attach'; selected the desired file/folder and clicked 'OPEN' and '"repeated until all files are added". 'Files are shown (4) in
upper righthand corner. From there I have NO success in transferring, dragging or moving them To the message area. HOW Do I
move the files, as attachments to my message?

If you are Attaching files they will stay in the attachment pane.
If you are trying to Insert an image into the message body then use Insert instead of Attach.
You cannot drag a file from the attachment pane into the body of the message.

How can I insert a button in my form that add a copy of the page where I'm in? It is possible?

Hi! I'm doing a cv template for my company so that Human Resourses can send to candidates. I made the form and I have a page for the "professional experience" area. This page is enough for a recent graduated student but not for a senior candidate (that has more experience). Can I insert a "ADD" button on this page where it creates a reset copy of the "professional experience" page where the candidate could add more professional experience? Thanks

Yes, by using JavaScript to create a new page by spawning a template page. The downside is that is will only work with Reader 11 (and Acrobat) and not previous versions of Reader. It also won't work if you need to Reader-enable the document so that pre-11 versions of Reader can save the filled-in form. If these limitations are not a problem and you need more help, post again.

Add html code to iweb page?

i'm a nike+ user and i want to add a nike+ challenge link to my iweb website. nike+ gives us the code to cut and past into our "blog, or website," but i can't figure a way to paste the code so it appears on iweb as a link to my nike+ challenge. i've looked for a way to edit an iweb page as html, but no luck. any ideas?

Cannot add an image to a pages document.

I have a 7 page document that has 10 images included. They are small screen shots about 300 x 500 px. When I try to add another image, I get the resize handles displayed, but no image. I've tried adding the image from the Media Browser and finder. I ended up saving the document, and starting another from where I left off. I'll combine them in Acrobat. Any ideas? if apple would like the file to examine, let me know.
I had another image issue with a newsletter I generated using one of the Pages templates. After running pages for a while, the Media Browser would refuse to open or open very slowly. I figured it was a memory issue, and used the finder window instead.
I'm really trying to leave Word behind. So any information would be appreciated.

How to avoid printing a balnk page at the end in the Adobe form output

Hello Experts,
Can anyone please let me know as how to avoid/delete the blank page at the end of adobe form output.
I have a master page with header n footer and a body page seperate.
For ex.. I have 3 line items and i want each line item to be displayed in the new page. I am able to get this functionality . I have set the settings in the paginationb tab of the subform as
"after " Go to Next content Area" " but an extra page is getting printed at the end. 3 + 1 extra pages total. I want to avoid this blank page. I have checked the Allow page break with in content box but it is still not working.
Can someone guide me as how to solve this problem.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

hey mahesh,
this normally happens because of triggering a new page manually, what u would have done is that you would be checking for the new line item and when this condition is satisfied , you are triggering a new page , the reason for the last blank page is that the condition gets satisfied ( beacuse the line item number changes from the last line item no to initial or space).
This can be handled by doing the following
By knowing the number of line items by the following stmt.
describe table itab lines v_lines.
Now you have the value in v_lines.
use a counter in ur form and keep it increasing it by 1 ( say v_sno ) ie v_sno = v_sno + 1 in the loop of ur internal table.
ONLY WHEN V_LINES IS LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO V_SNO , TRIGGER THE NEW PAGE
this should be along with the condition which u have already put, ie when ever line item no changes
when both these conditions are satisfied , then only the new page will be triggered.

The master and body pages represent the canvas on which you build your form design.
Master Page
Every form design contains at least one master page that LiveCycle Designer creates automatically. Master pages are responsible for formatting body pages. They help to facilitate design consistency because they can provide a background and layout format for more than one of the body pages in a form design.
master pages define the orientation and dimensions of body pages. You can use master pages to define these aspects of a form design:
1.Page size and orientation
2.Headers and footers
3.Watermarks and company logos
Each master page is created with a default content area that covers the whole page. You can add text, images, and other boilerplate objects to a master page. These objects are displayed on all of the body pages that the master page is responsible for formatting.
Body pages
Body pages represent the pages of a form. Each body page derives its page size and orientation from a master page, and by default, each body page is associated with the default master page that LiveCycle Designer creates. Each body page is created with a default subform that covers the whole page.
If your form design contains more than one master page and body page, you can choose which master page to assign to a body page.

Line item data does not appear on all master pages - Adobe forms

Hi Guys,
I have a problem in Adobe forms as explained below-
I have a page in the form which has, you can say, a 2 windows or subforms ( Information window/subfirm on top right corner, main on middle of the page ). The data of the main subform is a line item data of delivery. Some parts of the same data need to be printed on the Information subform also. The main subform can overflow to next pages but the information window will have only very limited data to be printed on one page itself, meaning it does not overflow.
Now the requirement is that each line item should be printed on a new page. For example if there are 2 lines items then first line item should be printed on first page. Then there will be a conditional page break and the next line item will be printed on the next page ( I have achieved this using condition page break). The information window will contain information related to corresponding line items. If the first line item data overflows in main then information window of first line item should be printed on first and 2nd page. The second line item should start printing on 3rd page and information window of 3rd page will contain data of 2nd line item.
I created 1 body page and 1 master page. I created one internal table with data of main window and information window. I put the information window on master page to make it appear on all the pages.
This solution unfortunately does not work. The issue is that in case of overflow, 1st page information window shows first line item. 2nd pages shows 2nd line item and 3rd page is blank whereas ideally 1st and 2nd page information window should show first line item and 3rd page should show 2nd line item. This means that master page and body page are not getting linked. If I create the information window on body page itself, it does not repeat on all the pages. Please provide some inputs to resolve the issue.

Adobe Forms - Code Initialization question in ABAP

How do you access an adobe form parameter in the code Initialization section that is passed in the adobe form function call.
I need to retrieve one of the parameters to modify one of my Global Definitions.
