Adobe PDF Test Tool Kit

I need to validate data in a PDF through QTP. I have downloaded following softwares -
1. QTP 11.0
2. Adobe Reader 10.1.1
3. Adobe PDF Test Tool Kit (10.1.2)
I am able to see acroqtp plugin when i open my QTP but still QTP is not able to identify the PDF.
if i try to create an object of acroexch.app to extract data i am getting runtime error.
when i tried creating an object for AcroPDF.PDF i was able to create object.
Can anyone suggest what needs to be done to extract the data.
Thanks,
Shweta

And talking about actual versions; the Reader version you downloaded is very old.  The current versions are 10.1.13 and 11.0.10.

  • PDF Test Toolkit disables IE with QTP

I am running QTP 9.5, IE 8, and Acrobat Pro 9.4
I added in the Adobe PDF Test Tool. When I loaded AcroQTP add-in, my IE would not open. I turned off the ActiveX add-in and I can get IE to open but on selecting links, more than one dialog box will open. Turning AcroQTP off and removing it as an add-in is the only way to get my scripts to run correctly. I used the unRegPDFTestToolkit.bat to remove the AcroQTP but still once QTP starts, my IE8 has all types of issues (doubling up on dialog windows, IE just won't open). Selecting the "Restore last session" button causes the IE just to close.
Sometimes, for IE 8 to even work, I need to remove AcroQTP from being seen by the QTP add-in manager.
Is there a solution to fix this issue?
Thx for any kind responces ;-)
    Lorena

If you are using QTP 9.1, you need to upgrade your QTP.
Section 1.2 System Requirements of the pdftesttoolkit.pdf doc says you need QTP 9.5 with updates, or QTP 10, or QTP 11.

  • Reader 10.1.4 / latest pdf tool kit / QTP 11 - QTP hangs sporadically or reader crashes

    Hello ,
Following is the tool set we are using:
    Reader 10.1.4
Latest pdf tool kit for 10.1.x
    QTP 11
We are able to capture the objects in the PDF form and create a QTP script fine, but when we try to run the QTP script:
-It either hangs at a random step and then it needs to be killed from task manager, after waiting for it for ~ 15 - 20 mins.
    or
    - Some times reader itself crashes.
Just wondering, has any one here come across this behaviour and found a workaround/solution to it?
    Regards,
    Bhart

I unistalled and reinstalled everything. I still get the issue:
    Config:
QTP 10.0 with Patch HP QTP_00626, on Vista and Browser IE7
All plugins (AcroPDF, Flex, etc) appear in the QTP active Plugins window.
    Tested versions:
Reader 10.1.1 (not in compatible list but Adobe recommends it anyway, see "http://forums.adobe.com/message/3956025?tstart=0#3956025") -> No go
10.1.2 (ideal with the latest AcroPDF plugin) -> no go
10.1.4 (known issues, see the same link above) -> No go
remark: I only focus on the second version of the plugin (see "http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/aptt.html"), as the old one is compatible with 9.x versions, which are out of my scope. There is a rumour about an hypothetical third version, but nothing concrete here.
    Problem:
I always get "Failed to find object: Failed to find Acrobat" when I run the AcroPDF test which is in the tool package. No acrobat installed.
The user manual says "An unsupported version of Acrobat is being used or both Acrobat and Reader are installed." But my configuration definitely fits with these criterias.
A record in QTP only sees AVPageView item.
-> According the AcroPDF documentation, it is supposed to only happen with QTP 9, but it appears with QTP 10 as well...
Does anyone have a clue how I could fix my issue?

  • Adobe PDF printer no output. Did 'Print Test Page', but never got out of queue (Acrobat X Pro;Win 7)

I'm using Acrobat X Pro in Windows 7 environment. At Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Devices and Printers, I did a 'Print Test Page' when I right-clicked on the Adobe Printer icon and  clicked Printer properties. The 'Save PDF File As' prompt came up and I entered the filename and chose the folder location. Next, I clicked the 'Save' button in the prompt.
I could not locate the pdf file at the folder I had designated the test page to be saved to. So I checked the printer queue. The test page was still in the queue, but nothing was happening. What do I need to do to rectify this problem? Thank you very much.

    I figured it out.
Adobe PDF cannot parse the quotes in any title that firfox passes to it.
So if your page has a " in it.  The PDF printer does not parse " right.

  • Using Adobe's SMS Rporting Tool kit - Software Inventory

I’m using SMS Reporting tool kit  ver 4.0, with SCCM 2007 R3.  Is there a newer version?
    1. How long would it/should it take for SCCM to query 2500 systems in SCCM for Adobe SWTAG files? The current scan has been running for about 3 hours now.
    2. Will the SWTAG scan pick up more recent Adobe CS5/6 products?
    3. I added SWTAG file collection in SCCM software Inventory.  Inventory has run on many systems, but I cannot run a SCCM query to locate systems with these files.  Does anyone have a SCCM query to find these systems with SWTAG files?
I have looked on other Adobe/Microsoft forums with little success.

I have seen you have posted around the web about this. This forum is for Adobe Business Catalyast, their website CMS system.
Like others have said to you - I have also never heard about this.
You have the adobe file tagging which iuses SWTAG - http://blogs.adobe.com/oobe/2009/11/software_tagging_in_adobe_prod_1.html
But I know nothing of SMS reporting tool etc. What ever that is you need to contact the vendor for it.

  • Adobe reader v10.1.2 + PDF Test Toolkit

    Hi there,
We have QTP 11 installed on one of our test PC's and have Adobe reader v10.1.2 + latest PDF Test Toolkit installed.
When starting QTP we can see the plugin in the add ins screen, however when we try to launch a .pdf using the  reader we get - Adobe reader has stopped working.
If we close QTP then the reader will view the .pdf.
We have Adobe reader v10.1.0 + PDF Test Toolkit installed on 2 other pc's and that works fine?, could it be reader version issue as we understand the toolkit will run ok on v10.1.1 and above
    Any response appreiated,
    regds,

    Hi
We have lately found that due to some of our changes in Reader 10.1.2 release, the plugins have broken.
They still continue to work with Adobe Reader 10.1.0 and 10.1.1 ON ANY ENVIRONMENT WITH ANY QTP VERSION.
For the time being, before Adobe roll out a fix, we would suggest you not to upgrade the Adobe Reader versions.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Adobe PDF TestTool Kit

Reaching out for any assistance.  Using the latest version the this toolkit with UFT(QTP) 11.52.  I am able to see the addin at startup of UFT and check the box.  When I attempt to record some data entry in a PDF form, it only seems to recognize the pdf page and not the individual objects because I get "WinObject:AVPageView" for all objects I spy on.  I am able to see all the Object classes for the AcroQTP under Object Identification.  Is there anyone out there that has gotten the latest version of Adobe PDF TestTool kit to work?

And talking about actual versions; the Reader version you downloaded is very old.  The current versions are 10.1.13 and 11.0.10.

I think the [https://addons.mozilla.org/af/firefox/addon/grab-and-drag/ Grab and Drag] extension is much closer to what's being requested.

@Csound1 how is my mac relevant? I'm talking about software not hardware.
@Kurt Lang sorry, I composed the message when looking at "Preview" application help on this site, the fact that it missed the context here, is another issue I have with Apple's "famous" UI/UX design...

  • Adobe config and ECC PDF test

I have configured ADS and http destination version test works. I ran the FP PDF test on the ECC system and the test responds back with the message "No Vendor Specified". I am running J2EE ADS on a separate system pointing back to ECC. The SM59 test properly and the HTTP test work except for some of the tests fail with the "no Vendor Specified" message. I cannot find any note related to this.
I am using SAP note 944221 as a guideline to setting and testing ADS.
    Thanks
    Mikie

I had exactly the same problem.
The first thing is that ECC 6.0 can't display proper message and uses "No vendor specified" as the default.
In my case the real problem was in the Java Visual Administrator configuration. In "Connection Settings" URL
there was unnecessary "/" at the end. So when SAP was trying to use that service it was calling:
    http://server:8000//sap/bc/fp/form/layout/FP_FORM_SECURITY_TEST.XDP?fp-language=DE
    instead of:
    http://server:8000/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/FP_FORM_SECURITY_TEST.XDP?fp-language=DE

  • Create Adobe PDF from Word DOCX Issue

    Good Morning All,
We have stumbled across an apparently well-known issue, which annoyingly for all concerned does not seem to have a satisfying answer.  One rather long discussion is here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4237240.  There is at least one other which also alludes to the issue basically involving Office 2010 SP1 and having the Word user template location re-directed to a network drive.  None of the suggested things have worked, and we do not want to even try the user template location on a local drive, we want a fix for what is really a fairly standard scenario.
I think we have found something new to add to the mix, this is noted later in the post.  For completeness I have also included a condensed version of events/stuff we have tried, to help anybody who reads this and may have an answer.
    Our scenario is as follows:
We recently performed a Microsoft Office 2007 to Office 2010 SP1 upgrade.  A week or so in advance of this we upgraded all those folks that had Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 to X, (v10.0.0).
Within a couple of days of the Office upgrade we had reports of an issue whereby users could not convert Word documents to PDF.  Window title: Create Adobe PDF, message: Unable to open the document <path to file>.  Please check to see if you have permission for the above file.  (The user always does have rights to the location.)
All machines are 32bit Windows 7 and well capable of running this OS and these apps.
Machine patching is maintained by SCCM.
Deployment of Acrobat and Office was done by SCCM.
    The issue broken down:
Conversion of Word documents to PDF fails in these scenarios:
Windows Explorer – right click of single file and ‘Convert to PDF’.
Windows Explorer – right click of multiple files and batch conversion option.
Outlook – Convert to PDF and e-mail.  (Error message is different, apologies I have no note of this to hand.)
It should be noted that conversion of any other file format works, plus conversion of Word documents consistently works inside the Word interface using Adobe toolbar.
Not consistently a user based issue:
It usually * fails for our main test user on her PC.  Although sometimes a single file or batch file conversion will work.  However the option in Outlook never works.  (* Every so often the single file and batch conversion’s do work for the test user, there is no obvious reason as we have not applied any fixes that worked!)
Everything works fine for the test user on my PC and another PC in her department.
Not consistently a machine based issue.
The process always works for me on my machine, but fails most of the time when I use the test users PC.
The process always works for a test account cloned from the test user’s actual account.
Giving local admin rights to the test user did not help.
    Summary of things tried:
Various forum suggestions have not worked:
Deleting/renaming normal.dotm worked initially but the problem returned within a couple of days.
    Registering some Adobe DLL's: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll & C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\PDFMaker\Common\AdobePDFMakerX.dll.
The Word Add-in tool bar is enabled.
The users name and intials are present in Word options.
There are no rogue temp files in %temp% or C:\users\<user>\appdata\roaming\microsoft\word.
    Stuff we have tried independently:
Repair Office install then repair Adobe install.
    Patching Acrobat to 10.1.1 & 10.1.4.
Remove and re-install of Acrobat, including patch.
Remove and re-install of Acrobat Pro and Reader, (using the official Adobe labs removal tool), including patch.  (When products were removed Office was repaired.  Just Acrobat Pro X was installed after, no Reader.)
During this work I noticed two files in %temp% which get updated when file conversion is attempted: amt.log and swtag.log.  After Googling these files I found there may be some interesting stuff in amt.log when the process fails.  Unfortunately this has not been the case.  There is no obvious log entry difference between a successful conversion and a failure.
However at this time I started to notice files in %temp% in the following format: cv*.tmp.cvr.  Google revealed these to be Office crash dump files.  Unfortunately these files are always zero bytes long and literally contain nothing to analyse!
So after clearing out all these .cvr files I ran Task Manager, and had %temp% open in a folder.  I then tried the conversion process:
    Firstly it fails!
Secondly a zero byte .cvr file is created and usually disappears right away.
Thirdly winword.exe appears and disappears quickly in Task Manager.
You can repeat this to your heart’s content by hitting the retry button!
The only thing I can add about my PC is that I never had Acrobat until I tried installing it to re-create the issue.  So it may be that my PC having no legacy Adobe install issues, (I only had Reader previously), was less prone to whatever is the root of this issue?  The affected machines in the field have at least been upgraded from v9.
As you can tell we have found it very hard to pin the issue down.  The circumstances for a failure are not consistently repeatable.  I do think the key thing we have noticed though is the obvious crashing of winword.exe when this process fails.  As evidenced by the creation of the cv*.tmp.cvr files and watching the process appear and disappear in Task Manager.  Nothing I have read elsewhere notes this, and it seems to me that winword.exe does not like being called in this way.  This is surely very key to the issue?

I should also add that there are no error messages appearing on screen when we have a failure, and nothing is logged in any Windows event log.
I have done lots more searching since first reporting this.  Lots of people have this issue going back to last year at least with Office 2010 SP1 Acrobat X.  No answers or fixes out there apparently despite being promised to some people who have done a bug report.
This is really not good enough.  I have reported our scenario as a bug report earlier today.  Hopefully I will get a proper fix, then I will gladly pass it on.

  • One or more Adobe PDF extensions are disabled - Citrix Metaframe Environment

*NOTE* we're still in the testing phases of this project.
We've have an ASP based application within our system. This app launches PDF documents in the browser during processing.
2 of the 12 Citrix clients running tests are now reporting that when they get to this portion of the tests they get the error message:
"One or more Adobe PDF extensions are disabled" and cannot proceed until they exit the app and IE 7, go into Tools - Manage Add-Ons and enable the Adobe PDF add-on.
This works for their current session but when they log out and log back in the following day the Adobe PDF add-on is again disabled.
Is there a registry entry for this add on? The users are working with roaming profiles so I'm wondering if this is the culprit but don't want to have to rebuild their profile as a solution. When this app goes live we'll be dealing with over 1000 users and if this still happens we could be looking at a great deal of profile rebuilds.
    Thanks in advance
    Joe

I installed 8.1.2 this morning. Later, while trying to print a page from a catalog I got the message "One or more Adobe PDF Extensions are disabled." It then proceded to tell me how to fix the problem.
When I got to the "Manage Add-ons" list 100% of them were enabled ... not a single one disabled !
I really don't want to use the option to "not show this message again" as some day it might really count, neither do I want to see the error message every time I print something.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • When printing to Adobe PDF from Microsoft Publisher, the text on page 2 is not 100% black

    Hi there
I'm using Microsoft Publisher 2013 to print to an Adobe PDF file (I have a trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.)
I sent the PDF to my printing house but they can't print it because the text on page 2 is not 100% black. In Publisher, the text colour on both pages is CMYK 0/0/0/100.
I created a test file in which I copied the text from page 1 onto page 2 so both pages are identical. However, the PDF created from that file, when I click Print Production, Output Preview and de-select Process Black, all the text on page 1 disappears (as expected) but none of the text on page 2 disappears! It seems that Publisher and/or Acrobat is printing the text on page 1 correctly but not page 2. Does anyone know why? Am I doing something wrong?
Here's a link to the two files: Dropbox - ShareAdobeComm
Would much appreciate some help if anybody can please point me in the right direction. Thank you.
(I'm seriously evaluating upgrading from my current 3rd party PDF writer to Adobe.)

Do not use the PDF Maker, but print to the Adobe PDF printer and see if that meets you need. If you need some of the tools of PDF Maker, then turn on only those you need, not them all. Check to be sure that the graphics are indeed being downsampled and possibly go back and reduce the graphics you have in the WORD file so that you are at least not using millions of colors, 256 max. Also consider using straight B&W if color is not needed, or at least gray-scale.
