ADOBE PLEASE FIX THIS SOFTWARE

I was considering purchasing this software but it is so buggy I cannot begin to express my frustration. Are we beta testers ? Why can't these issues get resolved. I have had the dreadful 0x0000020 error for 3 different projects now during the past day and no i did not uncheck and check "animate buttons". This is a real pain. The solution is to rebuild the dvd every time? How is this software aimed at professionals wanting to create dvds in a business environment. These constant crashes due to this error are unacceptable. What would I say to a client sitting with me waiting for their project to burn? Sorry I have to redo everything please wait? To say that this is an OS problem and alleviate responsibility is not the right thing. I love the idea that this software works with photoshop, I like how it works when it does but authoring dvds in this buggy environment is REAL FRUSTRATING

I'm also extremely frustrated with Encore. It cost me months of unpaid time. It is definetely the buggiest piece of the CS suite and it didn't get any better through all it's versions.
I have been talking to support many times and I got a sack full of bugs confirmed, some of them major bugs that even corrupt files (some weren't fixed for three or four versions.)
Each software has bugs, but teh main problem in Encore is that it just doesn't handle user or internal errors gracefully. It just crashes or hangs. There is no recovery mode or something similar. I definetley can't recommend it if you have to make a living out of it. The chances that you loose a lot of time and money are very high even if you do everything correctly. You might just edit a menu and Encore crashes and corrupts the file - making you have to redo the whole project from scratch.
After I will have finished my current projects, which are already three months delayed, because of Encore bugs I will finally dump Encore and either spend much more money for professional authoring software or might go for Studio Pro on the MAC that I tried recently and had a much better experience with.
The first problem for us customers is that there is no real competitor for the PC. (On the MAC Studio Pro is by length better in stability and features.) So Adobe has no real need to put more effort into Encore.
The second problem is that software is treated differently than any other product. A car manufacture has to face product liability. A software manufacture does not. It must become cheaper for software manufacture to make better software and not the other way around as it is today. I would recommend a law that requires a software vendor to fix reported bugs (behaviour that differs from the specs in the manual) for free in a certain time frame (e.g. 6 weeks) or the customer can deduct a certain amount from the purchased price. If a advertised piece of a programm is not working you should not pay for it. Period. This would make it cheaper for the vendor to develop better software right away. Nowadays all major software vendors use the 5% rule. If a bug is not reported by more than 5% of the user base it won't be fixed. It doesn't matter if the bug is serious or you can't use a feature. (I never forget the nught shifts because Encore corrupted projects when you tried to enter subtitles manually). Nowadays a bug might be fixed in the next version, which the customer has to pay again, even he paid already for a version that should have done it correctly.
Some people say that software becomes so expensive that you can't afford it anymore. I don't think so. Anyway it think it would be better to knwo what you are getting into it and get a piece of software for a couple of hundred dollars and then loose a couple of thousands, because it doesn't work.
I really can understand the frustration of many users that pay real money for Encore and then don't get the value for their money that has been advertised and they expect.

    Welcome to the club. When I saw this post, my eye twitched, my shoulders tensed up and I was brought back to a time (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4714549#4714549) when hitting stop did things that were wrong...just wrong. But as one who's been shut down and locked out of that topic, I'll kindly say that yes, multicam is a bit more enjoyable and free of that design flaw in Premiere CC. In fact, you'll probably like it for a few more things in CC as it's true that they have implemented several FCP favorites in the recent releases that even old schoolers probably say "hmmm, well now this is useful". I was a convert to CS6 from FCP this time last year and open to new things but that stop/pause issue drove me nuts. But it's fixed now in CC. And although I'm dealing with equally frustrating issues in CC on a daily basis unrelated to multcam, unless you use Warp Stabilizer a lot you probably won't experience them. All new software will have its bugs, etc. and I'm still holding out hope that the upcoming release will fix these issues. I have faith. Lots of exciting new features are coming in the next week or so which is all nice and good, but if the actual issues and bugs are fixed, I for one will be even happier.
    Bottom line: I encourage you to update to Premiere CC if you do a lot of multicam. Just be sure to update to at least 7.0.1 (the current version as of this post) because the regular 7.0.0 version has a pretty awful multicam bug unrelated to the CS6 thing.
    Enjoy...and don't be scared.

    I only use Image Capture, so I can't speak for other software.
    Here is how I select a Scan To destination:
    If you are using the minimal details screen, you should have the same submenu to the left of the page size.

    It sounds like you may be describing an issue where a program that monitors the Winsock protocol for Windows is conflicting with iTunes and it's related components. Take a look at the article linked below, it provides suggestions that may resolve the issue.

    Hey. So I recently just upgraded from my iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6 Plus.    I am very impressed with how smoothly it is working. The graphic enhancements are amazing, too! However, I noted a few bugs that are still there since iOS 8's debut and they are kinda annoying and I want apple to get rid of them. First of all -- this one is EXTREMELY annoying -- is the multitasking feature. I love the way it works, but, um, it shows content that no longer exists. For example, say that you were about to close ten tabs from the multitask bar. But before you did that, you were on safari and you finally closed a web page. Once you click on the home button and you double press it, say you scroll to the safari app, you see the content you were recently viewing even though it's not really there. I'm sorry this is kinda hard to understand, I'm only 14. Another noted bug also involves the home button. Say you are on the weather application. You go to the multitasking bar and you close the tab. Just as you are about to, you repeatedly press the home button before it fully closes the application. Once its closed, you get stuck on a blank home screen, or in some cases, your left without your status bar (carrier, time, battery, etc.). One final thing I want to jot down is a new feature. I love iOS 8's capabilities, but it needs something. A few software update(s) ago, I remember apple added a feature to switch between 2G, 3G, and 4G along w/ LTE. I already know that it varies upon your carrier if they released 4G or not. But I want to be able to use 2G for battery saving and data consuming purposes. I only have 300 MB on my plan (AT&T), and I'm pretty sure phablets use a whole lot of data. I want to be able to switch between 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE, and I'm pretty sure other people do too. That's all I have to say. Please fix this apple, or are there any solutions to prevent these errors? Thanks.

    My first question is why are you going in the recents and removing items at all? Unless an app is actively misbehaving, there's no reason to do this. You might want to review this article:

    I've never experienced the error you're attempting to describe. But then, I can't figure out why you're throwing in that extra tap on the Home button.
    The presence or absence of the ability to switch to 3G or 2G is carrier dependent. The carrier, not Apple determines if that setting is made available. In the U.S., carriers are in the process of deprecating their older, slower networks. They don't want you using them unless absolutely necessary because the newer networks are unavailable. The older networks don't have nearly the capacity of the newer ones.

    Update:  I tried the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" after everything else either fizzled out or hung up. After going all the way thru the recovery process (up to 100%), I finally got an error message.....it didn't work. And now, when I fire up the computer, I don't even get to that menu with the recovery options....the only thing I can boot into is the screens with the various ways to run your OS (in "safe mode", "safe mode with networking", etc).
    I'm not a techie, but I'm guessing at this point, the part of my hard drive that got damaged in the fall was, at the very least, the partition with the recovery data. Couple that with the fact that this cheapo Toshiba laptop didn't even come with recovery disk (or ANY kind of disk, even basic installation software!), I'm screwed: I don't see any way to get a workable computer now without some kind of disk to boot from. So NOW my concern is more about spending the $$ for a new OS and THEN finding out the hard drive has other problems too...is broken in some other way to boot.
    How to check this? As I said, I did run "chkdsk" back when I could get into the recovery menu and run the fix-it programs. It didn't note any problems. Thinking of taking this opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista (which I never liked), but I have to know that the computer is otherwise ok....how to be sure?

    I'm using iPhone 3gs
    I have problem with my volume slider. It works fine for, like 7 to 6 hours. Then, the problem of volume slider started to occur. Every time I adjust the volume slider it slides back to where it was.     My problem is when I am using my phone hooked up through the headphones in my car, every now and then the volume will slide on its own either all the way up or all the way down and the volume picture will be stuck on. The only way to stop this is to turn the phone off and then back on. It doesn't happen all the time and I guess I am too lazy to call Apple or go to a store and my question still has not been answered on this forum. Up until now I have not heard anyone else having this problem and yours is very close to what I am experiencing but at the same time different. I will try the resetting of my phone to see if that works. Thanks for your post.

    Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
    Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
          left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
            the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
          the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
                because it is three times faster than wireless.

    I updated to Firefox 4.01 today and the middle scroll button on my Lenovo T400 stopped working. I downloaded the updated Ultranav utility and the Ultranav driver for my T400 from here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-72858.html and then uninstalled the "Thinkpad Ultranav Driver" from Add/Remove programs rebooted and then installed the updated utility and driver (another reboot) and it now works perfectly.
    So glad to get this working again.
