Adobe reader android browser plugin

Why does adobe reader not allow the mime type application/pdf in an object tag to work in a web page? Instead it wants to download the pdf instead of viewing it in the browser like your desktop application. All you have to do is write a library .so file for the arm processor and include it in your adobe reader app. Then register the plug. The browser would see the mime type and look it up then run your library to interpret the data and display it in the object tag on the browser.

i've got a macbookpro, & my class lectures are presented in pdf format. every time i go to open 1, i get a popup that i need to order a pdf browser plugin 2 license. it let me access my pdfs last semester by requesting register later, but this semester it's not letting me read them. nothing i've found for adobe reader shows that i need this. how do i get rid of this popup so that i can read my lecture notes?

Where is documentation about Adobe Reader web-browser plugin API?

When Adobe Reader is chosen as plugin to open PDF's inside a web-browser it reacts to some javascript commands in the web page that hosts the <object> tag like "goToPage" or similar. I would like to know which other javascript commands (and events: something like "onPageChanged", for example) are available. Where can I find documentation?

Microsoft hasn't updated its Windows Media Player plugin for Firefox for a while, so 3-year-old documentation may be current. I recommend using MSDN as a resource, and particularly articles indicating which features work in Firefox.

Is there any way to create invisible link on Adobe Reader Android?
I made link type : invisible on acrobat pro 9, but the link still shows up on adobe reader android. And for interactive purpose, I don't want to use bookmark. Any idea?

You can't. Reader is just a PDF viewer and not much else.

Adobe Form Detect Browser Plugin

I am new to creating and using forms. The company I work for wanted their employment application, to be able to be filled out and submitted online. I have the form created, and it works just fine in IE. It does not display right in Firefox or Chrome. Is there a way I can embed script into the form to detect the browser plugin and make it use the adobe plugin instead of the browsers default? I need it to be multi browser compatible. Actually because Many people be it Mac or Pc for whatever reason, they avoid IE because of all the issues an incompatibilities.
Chrome in their PDF viewer can fill out forms just as good as IE.
Firefox you can set in Preferences > Helper Applications to use Reader, (instead of the built in viewer which is based on Javascript).
It’s a mistake to Write code just IE the have never been W3C compatible in which all the other Browsers have tried to be. What bost good web creators do is write specific code for IE only and also for FF/Chrome/ Safari. Opera, etc which render roughly the same.

Need To Open Adobe Reader Outside Browser (Firefox) On Mac Machine

From what you originally described, the problem is symptomatic of having removed the main Adobe application while still leaving the Adobe browser plugin in 'HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/'. Perhaps trashing the plugin from said folder and then reinstalling the software would rectify the issue.
Have you tried trashing Adobe Reader's preference list (.plist), located in '~/Library/Preferences/' or creating a test user account (System Preferences > Accounts > [+]) to investigate the problem further?

Adobe Reader in browser window disappearing-need help

I have created a word document (WD1) containing links to other word documents (WD2, WD3, etc). I then turned WD1 into a .pdf file. I then upload this .pdf file to a web page. I go to this webpage and click the link to open the WD1.pdf file. When I click the WD1.pdf link on the webpage, a new browser window opens with Adobe reader in it displaying WD1.pdf. so far so good. Now when I click on the links to WD2 or WD3, these links open in Word and the correct files display, but the browser window containing WD1.pdf file disappears (thats the best way to describe it) and the first webpage is still open.
What I am trying to achieve is to have the second browser window stay open so the trainees using this web page will be able to click on the other references on the .pdf to get to all of the links without having to re-open it each time.
I have Researched in help and web forums, the only reference I can find is to uncheck the box next to Open cross-documents in the same window in preferences in Adobe. Which I have done and restarted my computer. I also noticed a preference show each document in its own window which is checked.
Here is the other rub, I have a desktop computer (OS is XP) and a laptop (OS is vista). I have Adobe 8.1.2 installed on both. The laptop with vista works the way I would like. But the desktop computer with XP does not. I did have Adobe 7.0.9 on the desktop but when it did do what I wanted I upgraded to 8.1.2 and it still isnt working. The real problem is that most of the trainees will be using their work computers with XP. I dont know even know if there is any significance in this observation or not. But thought I would throw it out there.
Does anyone have any suggestions of things I could try or know of any solutions? Please help.

Adobe Reader 8.1 plugin error

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader 8.1 and have even run the patch for 8.1.2 and yet ever time I try to either open Adobe reader or a pdf file, I get an error message saying "Invalid plugin detected, Adobe reader needs to close" and I am unable to read any files at all.
I have Windows Vista and have recently installed Vista Service Pack 1, but the problem occurred both before and after Vista Service Pack 1 was installed. I've searched the forums and knowledgebase and have tried all the possible solutions that have been offered, but so-far nothing has worked.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do in order to resolve the problem? At this point Adobe Reader is completely unusable.

How to disable Acrobat reader toolbar permanently when rendering PDF with Adobe Reader in-browser

I am using Adobe Reader to view my pdf files which is embedded in the HTML page and running as an activex. I need to disable the toolbar like share the content as email link /attachment for the security reason. I am able to find a way to hide the Acrobat toolbar but it is visible by just pressing F8.
Can anyone please suggest a way to disable the toolbar permanently.

when I try to open a PDF in a browser and attaching the query string as #toolbar=0 makes the toolbar hidden. But in my case I am rendering the form using a formservice - renderPDFForm method with XDP format file as a input file. So I cant use the toolbar=0 option, since there is no url. Rather I have used the javascript code in the form designer to hide the toolbar. app.toolbar =false ; But this particular code is not working for acrobat reader X version. Can you please help me how to hide the tool bar.

Problem Downloading Adobe Reader Addl. Plugins Reqd....

When I try to download Adobe Reader, after i press the download button on the next page where the download should start, at the top of the page it says "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" there is a button that says "install missing plugins" but when i click it it says "no suitable plugins were found".
can someone please help me with this problem. i have tried on both Internet Explorer and Firefox.very frustrating.

Adobe Reader X (10) plugin issue

My plugin is working fine in Adobe Reader 9 but all problem occurs for the newer version.
(1) I don't see my plugin on the toolbar like Adobe Reader 9, is this way Adobe Reader X made or any solution? Currently it is showing as side-panel.
(2) My plugin doesn't work if protected mode is ON. If I switch-off it's working fine but it doesn't show my plugin completely. It has scraped almost half and there is no way to drag it.
(3) Is there any separate certificate required to run my plugin with security mode ON? we already have Adobe Reader certificate which works fine with Adobe Reader 9.
Please help me out or the reference/pointers if any?

1) - yes, this is how it works now. Nothing can write to the application toolbars.
2) - yes, plugins have often to be re-written to allow for Protected Mode. It depends on what it's trying to do.
3) - no, but you have to code allowing for the zero-elevation process model.
As you seem to have a Reader integration key, you should address SDK support questions to the contacts given to you when you registered for it.

Trusted functions in Reader through browser plugin

Hi all,
I have created a trusted function that works perfectly when I open my form directly through Reader or Acrobat :-)
My trusted function does something like import a file as an attachment from a certain place on disk.
However when I try to open it through the browser plugin (ie. Internet Explorer) it does not work - what could I be doing wrong? And what do I need to take into consideration to make it work through the browser plugin?
Please don't hesitate to ask if you need further information.

You were right, something in my script on the form was not executed correctly - seems like the util.stringFromStream does not work in the form if you run it in the plugin. I changed my code into usinsg the stringforStream method in my trusted function and then it suddenly worked.
Thanks a lot for your help btw - it led me into understanding that it was possible to use the trusted functions inside the belly of the browser plugin also
