Advanced tab managing sites

I've been checking around and everyone with Studio 8 has the
Templates category under the advanced tab on the site definition
box. The last one I have is Contribute.
Why don't I have the templates category? I am having a
terrible time with DW linking EVERYTHING incorrectly, all my PHP,
my includes files, even just images. I have to manually type in the
appropriate link because DW is putting the incorrect path.
Someone suggested something I could do on the Templates
category, but I don't have it.
Could someone explain to me WHY I wouldn't have it, but
everyone else does?

Just use root relative links throughout.
And upgrade to 8.0.2 - read the Adobe technotes about what to
do if you
can't make it "stick".

Managing Sites In DW CS3

I some how changed my settings and my local files address is
now preceded by ftp:// . I use to be able to see files in expanded
form for both Local and Remote files. How do I change back to what
I had before? My site's home page is now all messed up since some
of the links have been changed.

Since you use standard
http:// protocol, and since your online site can
be viewed properly, you are likely well-positioned for a full
recovery.
STEP ONE: If, as you have suggested, your local and remote
Dreamweaver folders appear identical, then everything that you have
online is likely also on your local hard disk. Just in case it is
not, you should back up your local folder before taking any further
action. Move it to a safe place and even change its name so as to
avoid confusion.
STEP TWO: After having backed up your local folder, delete
your site from your Manage Sites menu. This will destroy
Dreamweaver's record of your online site, so that you can start
over.
STEP THREE: Return to the Manage Sites Menu and click on New.
Make sure that you select Site and not FTP/RDS.
STEP FOUR: If you can understand the Advanced tab, use it to
create your new site. Otherwise, use the Basic tab and begin from
scratch. In either case download what is online back into your
computer, so as to be sure that everything on you computer is as it
appears online.
STEP FIVE: If there is anything missing in your newly created
local folder, then you can recover it by copying from the folder
that you backed up. Copy only content -- HTML, JPEG, and the like.
It is probably best not to copy anything created by Dreamweaver, as
you do not appear sufficiently familiar with the application to
know what could hurt or harm you.

JRE Missing from Advanced tab in IE 7 Vista Home premium

Hello,
I have a laptop and desktop both with windows vista home premium and IE 7 and the same latest update in regards to jre. When I view this link http://www.wndu.com/skyview16 in on my desktop pc I am able to switch tabs on the site and view the different cameras. When I try to view the same site with my laptop I get a "Done, but with errors on page" in the status bar. The only difference between the 2 browsers on the laptop and desktop is that in the Advanced tab of IE 7 of the laptop there is NO JRE listed anywhere!
I have uninstalled completely removing any leftover files, folders and registry entries and reinstalled again but to no avail.

I am sorry but after doing a more thorugh look at the Advanced and Security tabs on both computers there is no mention of java on either computer except in the Manage Add Ons and everything is identical as to what is listed which now makes it more puzzling why I am getting scripting errors on the laptop with IE 7 and NOT the desktop with IE 7 as to the Done with yellow exclamation point or Error on Page.

Help w/FTP and manage site

I am trying to get to my Comcast personal web site and I am
trying to use Dreamweaver to create the site. When I login to the
site on IE/FireFox useing the FTP address ftp://upload.comcast.net/
I get in OK but in DW 8.0 I go to manage site and enter in all of
the same info I use in IE/Fire Fox or even Front Page and I get
that DW can not connect and the following Error:
AN FTP Error occured. Cannot make a connection to host. The
remote host cannot be found. If I try it on another commercial site
I maintain and I get the same results. Is there a way to check my
DW 8 to confirm it is working correctly?

Cannot enter URL or use advanced tab when creating a (local) testing server

Hi,
I have created a site in Dreamweaver and I have tried creating a testing server. However everytime I try to create a test server Dreamweaver does not allow me to enter the Web URL in the server window. I knnow its local (localhost) but it seems it should still need a URL - http://localhost/...
It allows me put in the name of the server the connection type - Local/Network and allows me to browse to the server folder and select it but does not allow me to put any data in to Web URL: field.
Additionally, it does not allow me to select the Advanced tab to specify my Server Model - PHP MySQL.
When I click save with these settings I can see all the necessary files and folders in the Dreameaver Testing Server window but when I go to create a database connection I get an error saying "The URL prefix http:// for this site's testing server could not be resolved" - on hitting the Select button to select the database.
I am running WAMP (in Windows 7) and I can see the database in phpMyAdmin. I know the username and password are correct.
Any help would be appreciated - Thanks

Administrator cannot change printer properties on "Advanced" tab from "Devices and Printers" on Windows Server 2012 R2

Hello, dear Colleagues.
User with administrators rights cannot change printer properties on "Advanced" tab from "Devices and Printers" on Windows Server 2012 R2.
If to launch "Devices and Printers" on server, all printer properties on "Advanced" tab are inactive (see screen below).
But I can change it manually with "Print Management". Features become active.
The main purpose - to uncheck "Enable advanced printing features" with powershell
scripts.

I've tried to runs PS Script both locally and remotely, previously running Powershell ISE as Administrator.
I've noticed interesting thing - if to
check "Enable advanced printing features"
manually thru Print Management snap-in, script works fine. But, time to time after some manipulations on print server, this advanced feature returns to enabled state automatically by system, I think. In this case PS Script does not work. Next, if to disable
feature manually again (thru Print Management snap-in),
and enable manually again, PS Script will work. Very strange situation.

My Default Website Folder & Manage Sites info Not Appearing

The pop up box on the right with the Files, Assets, and Snippets has somehow changed my default "AAA_WebSite" folder under the Files tab to show "Computer." I can still drill down to the correct folder, but since it's not set to the correct folder, all my "Manage Sites" info is missing as well.
Any thoughts?

If you're referring to what I think you're referring to, that's the Site Manager dropdown box where you can quick jump between sites in DW and select which site you want to work on.
Click the box (where it says Computer) and select "AAA_WebSite" from the dropdown menu.

No 'Mirror image' checkbox in Advance tab for c4680

Hi! I've just bought a new hp Photosmart c4680 printer for iron-on Transfers as my previous printer packed up. After some deliberating and research I settled on this one as it catered for the transfers and it was a make I haven't used before. I know what to do and how to do it, but, I can't cos what it tells me to do is not available ; cl 'Advance' tab, in the 'Features' area select the' Mirror Image' checkbox. There are 2 boxes, 1- 'Enable maximum DPI setting'. 2- 'Enable HP Real Life Technologies'. No MIRROR IMAGE ! Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks. Ako.

Sorry I been wrapped up in myself lately. WindowsXP. I've been to and froing emails with HP sevices and their final answer is below.
"Thank you for writing to HP Customer Care.
I would like to inform you that the printer supports iron on transfer however the driver does not have the feature of mirroring the image hence we suggested you to use third party software called Microsoft Office Picture Manager to mirror the image." Being an OAP that is not an option for me.
I've since had them ring me today from( India?)wherever and suggested I use Microsoft Word. I had previously rang Braintree HP Customer Care and spoke to a technician who, after deliberating with another Tech: told me " the Mirror Image is no longer necessary, just select Iron-onTransfer paper and print normally". Does'nt work. PICASA forum suggests :- highlight pic click >Ctrl-Shift-H to flip horizontal, and Ctrl-shift-V for vertical flip. Worked for some but not for me.
I've got over mine by visiting 'download.com' chose 'free downloads' 'mirror image' search and chose 'Easyimage' sorted.

Manage Sites console not working

when i go to edit a site and i have a choice of selecting site, server, version control and advanced. I cant click on any of them and as i have changed my password with my host i need to change on ftp and it wont let me in help?

Let's start from scratch. Please restart your system and then fire up DW. Tell us which version of DW you are using.
Open DW's Site manager by using SITE > Manage Sites..., select a site and click on EDIT (or the pencil icon) to open the Site Setup panel for that site.
Are you with me so far?

Safari Tab management

Hello all. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you have.
I'll be blunt. Is there any way to disable the new tab management in Safari? It used to be there was a pop-up menu list to the right if you had a lot, like with the bookmarks. I have a loooot of tabs open, and under new system, moving from the first to the last takes minutes of clicking in those little squares.
Again, this tab management is terrible, IMHO. Any way to get rid of it?

Internet Explorer 10 / 11 Advanced Tab settings not being completely applied

I am trying to enforce settings for the Advanced Tab in IE10 / 11 in our environment. I have one GPO applying these settings, with no other GPOs that are going to interfere. RSOP shows the policy is being applied, and I can even test it by changing
a setting and running a gpupdate /force to have it changed back. The weird thing is, not all of the settings on the advanced tab are being enforced.
Here's a rundown of what I'm doing:
I'm setting up policy in User Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Internet Settings
And then I'm creating a new "Internet Explorer 10 properties" thing
Then I'm going into the advanced tab and setting the settings I want and hitting F6 to change them to green as seen in the screenshot below. Please notice the highlighted ones, as these are the ones giving me the problem.
Those two settings are not being enforced. I then noticed that on the Group Policy Management window on the Settings tab, those two settings (amongst a handful of others) aren't even listed even though I clearly have them set in the screenshot above!
Why are these settings missing? It seems a number of them actually aren't here. I realize I can enforce this with registry edits but if the option is in Group Policy then why is it not working? Oh, and the reason it says (Order: 2) is because the settings
being used for "Order: 1" are for IE 8 and 9. There is nothing conflicting between the two either. My main concern here is why are they missing from that screenshot I posted above?

does the editor seem to be writing the settings into the XML? (check in the policy folder on sysvol)
if not present in the XML, then it's maybe a bug in the prefs editor (there have been a lot of bugfixes over time).

FWIW: Advanced Color Management with HP printers

As I mentioned in another thread my HP Deskjet 5650 is beginning to fail so I'm in the market. As much as I like the hard won results and convenient availability of supplies I'm tired of not being able to over-ride HP's color management and let Elements control the printer's color space.
After some very frustrating research on HP's site I am surprised to learn that the following full size printers allow exactly that and quite a few of their 4x6/5x7 printers, too:
Deskjet 5420v, 5440, 5740, 5940, 6500, 6620, 6830 and 6840 Series
Photosmart 7960, 7850, 8050, 8250, 8250v, 8250xi, and 8253 Series
The research was frustrating because very few of the technical pages for those models mention that color can be managed by the application.
Finally a search of their support site for "Advanced Color Management" brought up the list.

I have the same problem - no idea what to do to correct. Yesterday I replaced the magenta cartridge and within an hour it was telling me the cartridge was empty. Turned it off and today when I turned it back on it sees the magenta cartridge as full. Useless as it is tho, with the colors all pink.

E63: Deleted Advanced Call Manager. Please Help!

I got my E63 and in a bid to check the optimal performance, I decided to remove all installed applications ("why would you do that?" don't ask me -- one of those crazy moments). After I removed the apps, I didn't see any marked increase in response time. So I decided to have them back on. And, lo! and behold! The applications I removed were gone from the app manager! I don't care about other apps, but I wanted to have Advanced Call Manager back. Is there a way to restore the app back to the App Manager? Thanks, Suresh

Manage Sites - All my existing Sites have disappeared..?

I have recently recovered form a hard drive crash and set up a new home directory.
When I open the <Manage Sites> dialog box in Dreamweaver CS4 all of my existing sites have disappeared and the list is empty.'
If I track the path in Finder <username/library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/en-US/configuration.SiteCache> I can see that all of the sites are still listed in folders there.
Is there a way to redirect Dreamweaver to see these existing sites?
If not, can someone suggest the best way to recover from this/

Correct - in order to keep those that are currently on the iPad they need to stay checked, and additional albums that you check will be added to those that are already on the iPad. Synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, they can only be deleted by un-checking/de-selecting them on that tab.
