Af:InputComboboxListOfValues text and value property

Hello,
I am using ADF Faces, Jdeveloper 11g.
I want use an inputcomboboxlistofvalues component to let user find the necessary data from the list or search. And I want to set the value of the component to the id from the database. and text property to the name from database. User will see the name in the combobox but its value should be the id. Is this possible?

Hi,
only for selectLists, the label displayed to the user is different from the actual field value. For LOVs the values of the field is also what is shown to the user. I think this is already filed as an ER, but I am not quite sure

Dear Govind,
You can use BEx based WAD tool to acheive it. Edit the chart in the chart properties dialog, goto settings & edit the property. As you have requested you created 2 tabs, one for chart, another for data, and as and when you do changes in the Analysis grid, the chart values get adjusted.
P.S. Humbly a personal opinion; I do not recommend WAD; use XCELCIUS instead.

Pie chart with both text and value

I want the pie chart to contain both the text and value how is this possible when I look at the optiond for chart I was able to select only one thing at a time both not both the things at a time ,please let me know how is this possible

Hi Priya,
this should be possible. In the Chart Designer in the properties of the Categories you must edit the Format string to e.g. "$Label$br0.00" (show the label, make a line break, show the value with 2 decimals). AdHoc Query - possible to choose text and value for a field

Hi
One of our infosets is based on the LDB for travel (PTRVP).
For this infoset, PERNR is delivered from P0001.
However, this field does not deliver a text, so the user cannot choose "value and text" as they can for PERNR in the LDB PNPCE. The only difference seems to be that PNPCE fetches PERNR from P0000.
Can anyone tell me how to provide text options for the field?
I have tried the method described in IMG with no luck (probably doing something wrong).
Should mention that I am no expert programmer.

The Text in PERNR is just the Employee Name (ename). The users can get that from IT0002 anyways. They can choose Last name, First name or ename.

Hi Shiliang,
In a Bill Of Material the main item is a composite item which represents what is being sold to the customer. For eg. a computer typically would consist of Monitor, Keyboard,mouse and CPU, speakers. Here computer refers the collection of all these items which are physically existing and basically items present in our inventory ( Value Items ). Where as computer is just a text item meant to describe the collection.
Also to add the for Usage we use it as text sometimes, which is used to say the item has been authenticated by the quality dept and we print " Tested " on it or these days all the items come out with unique article numbers for identification purpose. So we use this usage as text.

for example the value of property mgmtallocdefcc in interco dimension (INTERCO.MGMTALLOCDEFCC) is ABCDE.

Concatenation is only possible between text and variables %VAR% or $VAR$.
Like ENTITY=I_%SOMEVAR%
But in your case instead of concatenate you have to use other property like TARGETENTITY having valid ENTITY members:
ENTITY=INTERCO.TARGETENTITY

Look at Class. It has a way to get at all public methods and attributes.
If you need to get to private attributes you can do what the Introspector does and expect the methods to follow the Bean pattern and pull the attributes out based upon that. Privates are all hidden from direct access but through the Bean Pattern they can be figured out.

Hi Tom,
Your LOOKUP formula will return a value that it finds in the "other" table. That value can be used in conditional highlighting rules. (Numbers 3 calls it conditional highlighting, not conditional formatting. Just to keep us awake, I guess, but it works the same).

When and How to get the Text.ScrollPos value of a String control when scroll bar position changed

Hi,
I'm working on a feature triggered by scroll bar position of a string control changed.
But I could not find a good way to catch the scroll bar position changed event,
the scroll bar is controlled manually by mouse down → mouse move → mouse up, I want the get the Text.ScrollPos value when user mouse up, and compare with the maximum value.
But the problem is, mouse up on the scroll bar could not trigger String: Mouse up event!
So I have to get the Text.ScrollPos continuously in the background in Timeout event, but I think it’s not efficient.
Do you have any better idea on when to get the correct destination value of Text.ScrollPos?
I plan to store the value of Text.ScrollPos in the bottom(maximum value) in a shift register, then compare the current Text.ScrollPos value with the max one.
If it comes close to the bottom(90%~100% of the maximum value), then the close to bottom LED will turn on.

Hello Cecilia,
I don't think there is any build-in event for this.
One solution would be to create your own user event at the initialisation of you main and launch a thread which is going to be pulling the value of your scrollbar position:
Then you can build your main as if they were a scrollbar move event.
And dont forget to close the thread and destroy the event at the end.

Using the text and not the value of a filed

I'm programming a pdf form using life cycle, I'm using the following script in a "SEND TO" button in order to email an XML file with the data extracted from the form:

From you query I understand you have a dropdown box with name as "Line". And you want to the "text" part of the selected item and not the "value" part. If it is so then do the following -
1. Write the below code in onCHange event of your dropdown box.
var ddValue = this.boundItem(xfa.event.newText);
var nodeList = this.resolveNode("#items").nodes;
var ddText = null;
for (var i = 0; i < nodeList.length; i++)
if (this.boundItem(nodeList.item(i).value) == ddValue)

In the above code I am basically getting the "text" part of the item selected and then I am storing it in a global variable.

Write the below code on click event of your button -

I have a hashtable which have some keys and respective values in it. Now I want to write all thoses content into a text or log file. Can anyone please tell me how to write it.

Properties is a subclass of Hashtable. It'll probably work just fine as a drop-in replacement.
Otherwise...if all keys and values are text, then loop through the Entry objects in the Map in question (Hashtable is a Map, and you probably shouldn't be using Hashtable anyway), or loop through the keys and grab the corresponding value for the keys. Read the API docs for java.util.Map. It's pretty straightforward.

h:outputText/ and its value property

I have this case:

now, I would like to format its value property to be something like:
<h:outputText id="text1" value="myFunction(#{varpak.status})" />
and then to write myFunction's body. Is this possible? How can I do that? Is there any example? I couldn't find any. Where should I put myFunction's body?

Text table - If you want to create TEXT table for any table then just need to create table with the key fields of the other table along with that we need to create 2 more fields - those are language field & description.
Value table - Any table can be attached as value table for the table, only thing is field relations should be there in that table.
for step by step process to create tables - check the below -
Go to SE11,
given ZTABLE name and Create.
In Delivery Maintainance Tab..
Choose Delivery class A
and Display/Maintaintance Allowed
Go to Fields tab.
Provide ur table fields with MANDT is first field for client dependent.
If there is QUAN, CURR type fields then u must provide reference to them.
Save and Activate.
Click on Technical Settings
Data Class APPLO
Size .. 0 (as per ur requirement.)
SAVE and Back.
Click on Utilities --> Table Maintainance Generator.
Authorization Group &NC&.
and provide function group for table maintainance ( u can create a function group in se37 )
click on Find Scr Number button.
select Propose Screen Number and Continue.
then Create...
Save and Back
Activate the table.
go to tcode SM30
give the table name and click on Maintain.
there u can enter values manually too.

And when I opened the csv file then the remaining lines , that is from the second line , of the column "motifs" are displayed through the column A of excel. The "motifs" multi-line text-item has 500 as its Maximum Length property value, and has a Char Data Type property value.
So how to display all the motifs' lines through the same column M without displaying the remaining lines in column A ?
Or are there tips to remove CHR(13) characters from a multi-line text-item ?

I tried to do it in different way. What i did is I have created a item of type formattted text and set its text like:--
<html>User authentication failed. <br*> Cause: Invalid password.</html> --remove *
So I am able to see the prompt like :-
User authentication failed.
Cause: Invalid password.
