After cold cloning a pvm guest no vms will start

I cloned a powered down paravvirtualized oracle linux guest. I did an advanced clone and used a clone definition that specified non-sparse disk creation.
I started the clone successfully and then tried to start the original guest up again but guest will not start. Restarted clone, and now clone also will not start. The guests remain locked, and the job must be aborted.
Restarted ovmm service, but problem persists.
Adminserver.log shows this error:

I tried removing the vm-start.lock file, but it just gets recreated and the guests still hang on startup.

  • Configure OEM after cold cloning

    Dear All
After performing cold cloning ,I am trying to configure OEM which shows me error message in logfile,
    CONFIG: ORA-20001: SYSMAN already exists..
Do I need to drop DBSNMP and SYSMAN schema and create repos from the beginning, if yes then is there any effect on database if I drop schemas.
kindly post steps about configuring OEM after cold cloning .
    Database Version : 11.2.0.1
    Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "cold cloning." What version of EM are you using, and what is it you want to do?

  • Can anybody tell me why Safari keeps shutting down after 1 or 2 mins use?  It will start up again, but the same thing happens.

This problem has only been noticeable for the last 2 weeks, so do you know of anything which may have caused this problem and if so, how can I put it right?

There is no "Restore Safari" on the iPad.
You can try using Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data and Clear History
That may help. You can also reset your iPad:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".
These steps might help with Safari crashes.

    Umesh,
Since it is case of Ora 600, for which only last solution is oracle support, but i would like to mention that your are getting ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [4193].... So, this 4193 is cause to read following links too:
http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/47048/2/ and. see Metalink note 153788.1 and 39282.1.

  • Desktop items get unsorted after cold boot on Snow Leopard 10.6.2

The Desktop items get unsorted after cold boot on Mac OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard).
I have about 25 items (mostly aliases of files or folders) on the Desktop, sorted as vertical rows on left and right side of the screen.
When the issue hits, they all get located as vertical rows on the right side of the screen, unsorted in relation to their custom relative position before the issue.
    Any idea? Thanks.

    Hi ApMaX
According to wikipedia the .DS_Store files on Mac OS X contain the metadata for icon position and view settings. If the file permissions for the Desktop .DS_Store file were incorrect then one could assume that the icon position and view settings aren't being saved.
First let us check the permissions on the .DS_Store file for the Desktop we can do this by running the following command in Terminal (located in the Utilities folder)
    ls -ld /Users/<<UserName>>/Desktop/.DS_Store
replacing <<UserName>> with the short name of your user account (name as viewed in the finder sidebar)
On my system I get the following permissions readout
    -rw-------@
Further info on .DS_Store files: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.DS_Store
If your permissions differ then we will look at correcting them.

  • MSI E350IA-E45 USB Not recognised after cold boot.

Any one else have the same issue? My asus (Bluetooth) BT211 is not recognised after cold boot.
I also found the front USB's losing power when PC turned off. Connected them up to 5VSB to fix the issue.
MSI tech has not been back to me if this is a fault design, My motherboard issue or bios issue? Which also means to charge via front USB not work when turned off.
And to top it off I cannot find an answer to whether the Wake on Bluetooth USB is supposed to work?

How did you connect up the USB ports to 5VSB?
I have a similar issue with a newer MSI board and my USB mouse; I'd have to remove and re-insert the USB connection to the mouse after each cold boot in order for it to be recognized. I did a kludge fix by looping the mouse through a powered USB hub that supplies power to connected devices even when the PC is off.
This MSI board doesn't have a hardware jumper to enable 5VSB to the USB ports, unlike other motherboards. Also, none of the "green" or wakeup settings in the BIOS would cause the USB ports to have power when the PC is off.
So, how do you connect 5VSB to the USB ports? I've heard that crossing the regular 5V rail with 5VSB is a no-no, so I can't imagine how you did it.

  • Cold backup vs cold cloning

Can anyone tell me the major difference between cold backup and cold cloning?

There is no comparison of difference, since they are different thing.
Cold Backup is a safe copy of existing database dismounted (i.e offline mode). The RMAN generated a new file which is read/write only by RMAN, also RMAN can generate a copy of database files on specific location.
Cloud Cloning is a duplication of existing database with was backed up in offline mode. The RMAN restore database files which is read/write by a Instance.

  • Hot cloning & cold cloning

i need hot cloning & cold cloning documents

This is something strange to me. What do you mean by "hot cloning & cold cloning".Database cloning is part of Application cloning. When you clone Oracle Application, you need to run pre-clone and post-clone on both the application and database tiers. To clone the database, either you shut it down and copy the files (cold backup), or you can use RMAN to recreate the database (hot backup).
What I know is, using Hot/Cold Database backup can be performed cloning of a database. How this cloning & cold cloning relates to Oracle ApplicationsAlready answered above.
Only the possible method for Cloning Oracle Applications Release 11i/12i is with Rapid Clone. For non-AutoConfig enabled systems, you cannot use Rapid Clone. Instead, you need to follow the steps in "Cloning Oracle Applications Release 11i" paper/note.

  • OVM3: Error Boot loader didn't return any data trying to create PVM guests

    Hi all,
I am trying to build a pvm guest on OVM3.
I have the OEL5 iso available as ftp://172.30.2.29/oracle_linux/x86_64/5.8/V31120-01-OracleLinux-R5-U8-Server-x86_64-dvd.iso
So I create a new VM, I choose it to be an "oracle Linux 5", PVM guest, I want the boot options to be "network" first and "disk" as second option.
I put ftp://172.30.2.29/oracle_linux/x86_64/5.8/V31120-01-OracleLinux-R5-U8-Server-x86_64-dvd.iso in the network boot path and, when I start the vm, i got the error "Boot loader didn't return any data" (see the log below).
    What am I doing wrong?
    thanks for every answer!

I did the same thing and finally got it to work. If I recall correctly, I finally mounted the iso and then gave that path in my network book path just to the root directory of the mount.

  • X230t no bluetooth after cold start

    Hi everyone,
Recently I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and after "cold" start bluetooth doesn't work and is not present in Device manager and in system tray. After restart all is OK.
The problem occurs only after "Shut down"!
Any ideas how to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance

I have one of the Mid 2010 27-inch iMac's running 10.7.3 without any audio problems like you describe. You mentioned that you have two hard drives. Do you have the factory installed hard drive + SSD, or did you install it yourself?
You mentioned TestGen. What version do you have installed? It appears that the latest version of the TestGen browser plug-in is 7.5.1.
    Have you tried resetting PRAM?
Have you tried booting in Safe Mode to see whether booting without all of the extra kernel extensions makes the issue go away? If it does then I would look consider reinstalling Lion and evaluating the various utilities your've installed which may be affecting your audio.

    regards
    Naor Shalom

    HI Naor,
Do one thing, assign a password to the user and pass that password or pass "sapmdm" as password for Admin (default password). With SAP MDM 7.1 there is no blank password and such users wont work.
Also for your reference please go through http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/80765a21-78f3-2b10-74a2-dc2ab57a1bd2?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true
    Let me know your findings.
    Thanks,
    Ravi
