After Dark- has left me in the dark.
I set a password on my After Dark screensaver a while back. I turned off the password protect option, and never used it for a long time. Now, I wanted to use it again, but...I forgot the password. Is there any way to locate it, or reset After Dark? I tried looking in Hard Drive: System Folder: Preferences, but no After Dark preference file. Where does After Dark store it's preferences? I tried trawling around in the Control Panel itself's code via ResEdit, but no luck.
Basically, where does After Dark keep it's stored data. Once I find that, I can just delete it and that should restore After Dark to it's original settings, including resetting the password to nothing, right?
I'm on a Macintosh Performa 637CD, running OS 7.5.5.

Time Machine has left me in the past!
I recently had a mac genius re-install my OS due to poor performance and too many glitches to name them all. I was confident in my time machine back-ups since I could see the clock moving everyday on my tool bar. After my OS was re-installed, I connected to my external hard drive and can only see files from November. Nothing else. Am I just ******** or is there something I'm doing wrong? I have only had a few hiccups in my 10+ years using a mac but they have been huge ones. Does anyone out there have a solution to this or has it happened to anyone else? Time machine has left me in the past, November 07 to be exact and I need to be in May 08! Someone please help!!!!
Double-click the drive icon, then double click the "Backups.backupdb" folder. Double-click your old computer's name, and scroll down to the bottom, and look at the most recent date. That most recent date is the most recent TM has.

My iTunes account says "The iPod "Madison " cannot be synced. An unknown error has occured (13019)" after it has recognized all of the music and has went through every song and it said "Copying (song) to "Madison"....." and then after it has went through all of my songs (492) it says the error message. I have tried everything that is on the Apple iTunes website about it, I have created the music account under a new administrator, I've tried everything. What do i do?

Put the ipod touch in recovery mode and then restored it, setting it up as a new Ipod, rather than restoring from the backup. Given how much trouble I'd had, I suspected that the backup might be corrupted anyway.
That seems to have resolved everything completely. -
Can I ad screenshots to my iBook after it has been published to the iBookstore as I didn't include them in the original publication.
Try to use "Lightbox Display" in "Widget Library->Compositions". "Widget Library->Slideshows" can only contain images.

When I try to install WinXP using bootcamp, the iMac will not recognize the CD after it has already read all the information and is ready to begin installation. What is the problem?
If your on 10.6.8 like you should be for security/stability updates, somewhere along the line a later Bootcamp version was issued and only supports Win 7.

How do I hide the admin button after someone has logged in as the administrator?

I am using Dreamweaver CS3, my question is:
I have a login page that has check boxes at the bottom of the page that tell the database whether the user is an administrator or not.
After the owner of the site has logged in as the administrator I would like to be able to hide the administrator button, can this be done with PHP, if so how do I do it?

Hi Everybody!
I'm just enjoying the freedom of using the Keynote App on my iPad. I create presentations for someone who is not computer literate at all, but is able to show the slides of the iPad after a lot of lessons.
The problem is that I'm using the "black" chalkboard version of the design to show the slides as they are used to that type of "look" on the lecture blackboard (no they do not "like" whiteboards at all with their many choices of colors, nor did they like Penultimate, or other similar white board writing devices on the iPad. They look too futuristic, or technologically complex for them to master).
So everything is going along fine, but the person does insist on having a paper copy of the slides in the order they are presented to use at the podium to make written notes in it. I will try again to teach that yellow lined "presenter notes" are available in the keynote app, but then they lose the full screen appearance of the slides when they share with those notes so they really refuse to use them preferring instead to use pen and paper.
Enough said of the problems I'm experiencing! Why am I here?
I'm trying to find a way to print out the pages without using up my black ink cartridges!
Of course from day one I simply copied and pasted all 30-40 slides for each presentation into a "new" white background presentation and that worked and they came out perfectly as shown in the "black board" version.
But I'm looking for a "one button" conversion facility to change the design of an entire written presentation in Keynote on the iPad if anyone knows of a way.
I tried exporting the Keynote to PDF or Power Point via Email. (I keep getting the message to use iWork, have not set it up or tried it as the person does not want their lecture notes out there "in public" and I didn't see any way that iWork stays "private").
But when I tried to use Email out of iPad, I found that only the Power Point could be Emailed on my Gmail account attached to the iPad's Apple Mail system (is that correct use of the terminology? Just learning all the abilities of this new device myself!).
For some reason the PDF version says that it cannot be Emailed, i.e. "Email failed"
When I open up the Power Point in my Microsoft Power Point or Open Office Image program, the formatting and letters are all messed up. Of course its easy (one button simple method) to change that black background for all 30-40 slides at once and save it again to print out with white background. But the letters run off the page, the letters are HUGE! for the title lines on the pages with titles. Just hundreds of errors that would take forever (even on a computer) to try and make look like the original does on the iPad so the person can associate the same printed out page with the same page being shown on the iPad from the Blackboard style Keynote.
Ok,. I also tried directly downloading the file from the Keynote to my PC using the iTunes application and synced it up. That got it in faster, without copying and changing to EMail and Emailing myself on the iPad to the PC, but still the formatting problems exist.
Ready for my questions?
1. Is there an app (can't do searching that app store very well or efficiently yet). that can overcome this problem and transfer Keynote presentations to the PC without all the resultant loss of formatting so I can print them out as White pages with just a click of the button on the PC program?
2. Is there any shortcut to getting the Keynote to the PC without all the complicated steps that I'm doing? I have a book by ______ on the Keynote for iPad where I found most of the answers, but these were the only ways he suggested I get the presentation from iPad to Email/PC.
3. Is there any possibility of my using Keynote on a "PC"? I do not own a Apple with the required Intel chip to operate the latest Keynote program being sold, (09?)which from prior experience with the iPad and my older Apple G4 PowerBook I found I need the more advanced Intel Apple devices to interface with the iPad correctly.
4. If there is a Keynote available that works on a "PC", would it solve the formatting problem if I either Emailed it or Synced it up using iTunes?
5. What is the preferable setting or method for that process if it does exist (if it does not, who or where is the "suggestion" box for iPad to get message to Apple? I don't know if they read these Forums for any ideas.
6. Finally, why am I not able to export my Keynote as a PDF? Is it because its too large a file? (Even when I tried just four text only slides it still failed). Maybe there is a secret button I do not know about yet on the iPad to activate this process so I can try out if PDF works better on a PC (But I need a program that can alter the PDF background so didn't really pursue that method as it would be a dead end without such a PDF authoring program.
Any information anyone can provide on these questions would be helpful!

I'm not sure I know how to use numbers 09 now that iworks has departed. I emailed a copy from my ipad to my pc,saved it to my desktop but it won't open. Also, how do I now move an excel spreadsheet from my pc to my ipad?
iWork (no 's') for iOS & iWork for Mac have not gone away.
iWork.com (beta) (also no 's') is going away the end of July. iWork.com (beta) is/was an online method of sharing iWork files with other users & never moved out of beta in 3+ years. It is a completely different entity than the iWork apps & is not & never has been necessary for the iWork apps to function.
A Numbers document, as well as Pages or Keynote documents, cannot be opened on a PC. You must first export them to a file that a PC can use. For Numbers that is generally Excel. In Numbers on your iPad tap the wrench & then tap Share & Print & choose Excel as the file type.
As for transfering a file from a PC to an iPad, I'm not sure as I don't use a PC. -
Has Verizon gone to the Dark Side when it comes to Rebates?
Tell me it isn't so.. but from my recent experience it appears that Verzon is now willing to sacrifice their integrity by not honoring rebates that are due to the customers who purchaced devices from them. I'm not sure if its their rebate contractor or the company directly who is responsible, but as the consumer, I really don't care.. I just want the rebate I was promised.
I completed the rebate docs per the instructions on the Mail-In Rebates Authorized Agent/Retailer Customers form. I checked each doc and verified it for accuracy. I made a copy of everything that was sent for my records.
In return I received postcards that indicated the intent "NOT" to honor the rebate agreement.
The postcard had an address where I could resubmit my claim, which I did along with another set of the copies of supporting information.
I THEN RECEIVED ANOTHER POSTCARD.... BUT THIS TIME ITS REJECTED FOR A DIFFERENT REASON (UPC Bar Code Missing). It's like I've been dared to take it to the next level....
I checked my docs again and there it was, the UPC looking right back at me.
If I am forced to take it to the next level... I agree it wont be pleasant for me (nor will it be for Verizon)

I wish you luck with your rebate. I upgraded in the store only once, that was a year and a half ago and I received the rebate within 3 weeks .I guess I have been lucky because all the mail in rebates I have sent in from all companies I dealt with over the years I have received without incident. Sometimes they were slow arriving but I did eventually received them. I do prefer the online instant rebate however, because that's money you don't have to give to them first and ask for back. -
How do you change the directory of system exec after it has ran once in the current vi

Attached is the sub vi that i am running in my main application. I run it twice and change the directory of the file to run. It appears that after i run this vi that i cant change the directory and it tries to run a file from the incorrect directory. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this issue?

I am not sure, if I understand exactly the problem, but do you really need the cmd /c start some_executable.exe. This executes a command prompt window, which executes another command prompt window, where your executable runs.
You can just use cmd /c some_executable.exe some_parameters_if_needed, and you don't need any quotation marks, even if the executable has command line parameters. I you want that the executable runs in particular directory, wire this path to the 'working directory' of System Exec.vi -
Edit TableCell in TableView right after it has been added to the data list

I'm trying to make my table view editable by keyboard. So far I can edit the currently selected cell with a press of 'E'. That works without any problems:
table.edit(selectedRow, tableColumns.get(0));Now I want to add functionality for adding a new row with the press of 'N'. So when pressing 'N' I add a new Object to my data list and try to get into editing mode the same way I do it when pressing 'E', but it won't work.
My first try was like this:
data.add(new Task("", "0"));
table.edit(data.size() - 1, tableColumns.get(0));The new row gets created but I won't get the edit text field. That's why I tried to focus and select the newly created cell. The focus and selection work, but I won't get an edit field.

Having a problem accessing movies purchased on a Apple TV by other Apple TV's.
I downloaded the purchase to the computer that is used to sync to all my Apple Tv's.
Still all the other Apple TV's give me a...go to authorized the computer in order to watch this content...
I have verified a number of times that the computer is authorized.....The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ... -

I have an iPad Mini which after charging has now frozen with the iCloud Backup text box in the middle of the screen and OK 'button' registers when tapped but remain locked with nothing operating. It is fully charged.
Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
