After i scan docs i cannot change pages or delte pages etc.

Help I suddenly cannot extract docs and delete, nor insert docs after I scan them or combine different docs.

Something to check - Be sure the PDF is opened with Acrobat rather than Adobe Reader or some other PDV viewer.

Cannot change password on LPM page with syntax error / AD2008

Hi,
In the Lost password Management page, user are prompt to change the password by input the old and new password.
Identity/oblix/apps/lost_pwd_mgmt/bin/lost_pwd_mgmt.cgi?
After type in the new password and click save the following error shows:
"The Directory Server password syntax was violated. The password cannot be changed"
Using AD2008 with ADSI security mode. OAM 10.1.4.3.0 BP03 on all components. Any idea on the above error?

Hi,
The error message means that AD is not accepting the value for the new password. Usually that means that there is a password policy in AD itself (perhaps which requires 1 upper case letter, 2 non-alphanumeric characters etc) which is causing the value to be rejected. If that is the case, you could match OAM's password policy to be as close as possible to AD's (so that OAM can do the validation before sending it off to AD).

Cannot change dictionary language in pages anymore...

Before Yosemite you just need to go to Inspector > Text > More > Language and change the language. Now, with Yosemite, you cannot do it since does not appear a Language options anymore. Anybody knows how to solve it?

In Pages 5 you can set the dictionary in Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar.

Programs that follow the TWAIN standards should work because HP LaserJet products support the required core functions for TWAIN version 1.9 compliance. However, these programs have only limited support for extended TWAIN options, and software that requires full support, such as Adobe and Core, might not function as expected.
For programs that are not TWAIN-compliant, use the following steps as a workaround:
Use the HP LaserJet Scan software to scan the document into a folder in .TIFF format (or any other file type that the software supports).
Import the .TIFF file into the program.
This is a pretty cumbersome work around. Are there any plans for Acrobat X to fully support extended TWAIN options? Is there an an easier work around?

Cannot change transaction isolation during distributed transaction

Hi All,
When ever the IPortalComponent session expires my application is throwing Null pointer exception. So I am catching the NullPointer exception and then reloading the page again. It is working in frontend without any issues.
But in the error log monitor(nwa) I can see the below error when reloading the page after component session expires.
Cannot change transaction isolation during distributed transaction and when the connection is shared. DataSource name: "PRODB2
As per my knowledge I understood that this is happening beacuse application is trying to recreate a new connection pool while one pool instance is alive.
If this is correct can any one tell me how to destory the pool of current session when reloading the page.

Since installing Mavericks on my MacBook Pro, I have many (not all) documents that cannot be opened in either Pages '09 or Pages 5. They show on my doc lists, but are greyed out so I can't try to change extensions or anything else. Some are PDFs.

Since installing Mavericks on my MacBook Pro, I have many documents, but not all, that cannot be opened in either Pages 5 or in Pages '09. The names show in my document lists, but are greyed out. They do not show any extensions, but I'm sure at seast some of them are PDFs. As I cannot open them, I am unable to try to experiment with any solutions - I am not tech savvy, but can sometimes fix things by trial and error. I have no issues with sharing documents as I have no other devices. I just want to be able to open my saved documents! Also, the documents I can open have to be persistently coaxed to open to a point that it is extremely aggravating. I am not so happy with this recent "upgrade." Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You use Finder to find stuff. It is what you use to look at where your files are kept and to rename, move or trash them. If you double click on a file in Finder it finds the right software to open it for you.
To open particular files you use the right software for each type. Usually, but not always, the software that made the file.
Pages opens files ending in .pages. Also .txt, .rtf, and doc.
Pages 5 is the latest (but certainly not the greatest) version of Pages. It has trouble opening all sorts of files including the older Pages '09 files but it will still do it.
Unfortunately Apple has chosen for Pages 5 to also save its files as exactly the same file extension .pages despite it being a different format that can not be opened by the older Pages '09.
As we all know Apple is wise and great beyond belief and would not do something that on the face of it looks extraordinarily stupid and shortsighted. Therefore we know that it must be our fault and we are not holding the software right. Because we are bad users, we must be punished, by either having to use Pages 5 or jump through hoops to avoid using Pages 5.
If you have installed Pages 5 any .pages file (old or new) will be opened by Pages 5. If you then save the file, Pages 5 will change the file format. So don't open your files with Pages 5 and don't save them if you do.
To stop Pages 5 opening and resaving your old files, you need to drag it to the trash and empty it.
When it is no longer around to annoy you, you can go back to using Pages 09.

We are doing our time ageing from the time of creating the document in DMS. We created a document with particular doc. type wrongly, after two days we found that the DMS creation was done with wrong doc. type. In this how to transfer to new correct doc. Type, if we delete this & create a new we canu2019t get any info that it was created two days back.
We made Z report for this time ageing report.

You cannot change the document type after the document has been created. The only way to do this would be with an enhancement and this would create major issues with the integrity of your system

After updating on my mac - I cannot open various password protected pages - like my WordPress site. I can open them from Safari and from Firefox on my windows pc.

I have Nuance PDF Converter 7.2 and after I scan a document and want to email it, I get an error message that says the scan cannot be attached to an email.

I want to be clear: I can scan the document with Nuance PDF Converter 7.2, but after the scan, I want to email the scan to someone.
When I click on the word "email" on the left side of the Nuance screen, I get a failure message. For a couple of years this process worked without a problem. I was told by Nuance Support that the problem was in the email software. Is there something on a drop
down menu that I can click on the resolve the problem? Thanks.

The problem could be that your computer doesn't have Thunderbird identified as the default e-mail program, so the first step is:
Thunderbird: Menu bar: Tools: Options: Advanced Tab: System Integration:
Press the "Check Now..." button.
In the resulting "System Integration" window, make sure that "E-Mail" is check-marked, and "Always perform this check when starting Thunderbird" is checked. Then click the "Set as Default" button.
If you have Windows 8 or 8.1, then there is also another step: 
Windows Control Panel: Programs: Default Programs: Set your default programs. 
Find "Thunderbird" on the left side, and click to select it. 
On the right side, click "Set this program as default".

It also depends on what documents you are wanting to add these comments to. On documents such as the A/R Invoice/ Delivery, and A/P Invoice/ Goods Receipt PO you cannot change the UDFs on the line item after the document is added (regardless of whether the document is closed). Sales Orders/ Quotes and Purchase Orders line item UDFs can be changed as long as the line hasn't been closed (or partially received/delivered/invoiced).
Hopefully that makes sense. I could give more of an explanation if I knew what documents you were wanting to add these line item comments to.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Completely unsolvable: Cannot change screen brightness after I upgraded my ThinkPad's display.

I have a ThinkPad X240 which came with a 1366x768 TN panel, I hated it and so after a while I upgraded it to an IPS 1080p display. It works great and looks fantastic except it's stuck on max brightness inside of Windows 8.1. I cannot change the brightness inside of Intel HD graphics settings or inside of programs like Display Tuner. It doesn't work in Windows 10 either. The weird thing is, I can change the brightness just fine inside of Ubuntu. I've tried uninstalling the Intel HD drivers and reinstalling them, I've tried switching the drivers to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, and none has worked. I feel like I've installed every single version of Intel's Graphics Drivers and that I've done everything and it still won't change the bloody brightness. NOTHING has worked except to just use Ubuntu, which is not an adequate solution. I've even gone as far as to update my BIOS and reset it to defaults, I've even pulled the CMOS battery. I've tried the version of the Intel HD driver from Lenovo for the X240 and I've installed the monitor.ini files. I've also just learned that during the Windows Boot Logo, the FN keys WILL change the brightness, but as soon as Windows is done booting, it stops working. This, coupled with the fact that brightness control works in Ubuntu means that this must be something related to Windows right? Brightness control works in BIOS. I've even gone so far as to try and change the brightness through CMD using powercfg according to this post. http://superuser.com/questions/472081/can-i-force-a-greater-screen-brightness-from-windows-command-prompt I'm really starting to lose patience now as it has been like this for 3 weeks and I can't be using Ubuntu all of the time, I honestly do not know what to do, it seems like this problem is completely unsolvable. Then (I know this is a bad idea) WHILE IT WAS ON, I pulled the old display and put connected the new one. And lo and behold, the brightness **bleep**ING worked in windows on the new display.
