After installing the latest software from apple on my Iphone4, I have not been able to retrive my saved data in contact list and notes, evidently I did not create a back up to the system first? is there any solution to restore my system. technical support

I tried many solutions, but none seeemed to work, any genius suggestions?
I think this is a flow in the system when you can not do restore. which should be done automaticaly, we are not all computer savy?!
Go to iTunes menu, EDIT/PREFERENCES/DEVICES tab, do you see any Backup files with Date and Time? These are the backup file you have everytime you sync your device to your iTunes.
Now close the dialogue box, connect your device to your computer. In iTunes left Pane, your iPhone will appear under "Devices". Right mouse click yout iPhone and select Restore from backup, select the backup from Date and Time you can remember that has all the contacts and notes and proceed from there.

Generate another of those error messages and click the "Click here" link in the error message box. What modname and modver are showing for the error? (Precise spelling please.)
If the error is a BEX and thus doesn't show an modname or modver, let us know what P1 through P9 items are showing for you instead. -
Is there a resource where I can see if my older versions of applications will work after upgrading to 10.8 from 10.6.8? I have some older Mac apps as well as things like Microsoft word and Adobe professional. I know PowerPC apps won't work, but I can't tell by the version numbers if they are PPC or Intel.

I know how to make an installation disk without things that I won't use and that can be burnt in a single layer DVD. But I want to make one that would be up to date with all the updates that have been released until now included.
Is that possible? How do I download the updates? How do y include them in the DVD? I would be great if I don't have to isntall them manually after installing the macosx.
I think there should be two ways of doing so:
1.- Include the updates in the DVD and execute them after the system installation.
2.- That the installation itself were up to date.

I think what the OP is after is the idea of slipstreamed DVD including Snow Leopard *&* the latest combo updates. In the Windows world this is referred to as a slipstreamed install.
For example you could have the latest build of SL plus the latest combo update slipstreamed in and this should work flexibly across a number of platforms.
Unfortunately though I don't know if it's possible with OSX. It's a real time-saver in the Windows world though if you have a number of machines to deploy or if you're constantly building/assembling VMs for example. -
Powerbook Duo 2300c not booting after installing 7.5.3 from Apple
I downloaded the 7.5.3 software from Apple and installed it on my 2300c. But on restart it says "This startup disk will not work on this Macintosh model. Use the latest Installer to update this disk for this model.". According to the knowledge base 7.5.3 is supported on a 2300c without an enabler. Is there anything else I could try to get this to work (The Disk Tools PPC image does boot the machine but unfortunately doesn't have CD-ROM support)

It does sound like it should work...
I would first reset the PRAM, then see if it will start.
If no go, I would boot again to the Disk Tools PPC and run Disk First Aid...see if anything turns up. If you still have a problem, you might want to initialize the HD and start over. One possible procedure: Boot to the Disk Tools floppy and initialize the HD > connect the CD-ROM drive and again copy over the 19 images to the HD > run the installer. If you are able to work with floppy disks, you can use the so-called "universal driver" CD-ROM v5.3.1 (60K) from OS 7.6, install it in the Extensions folder of the System Folder of the Disk Tools floppy and you should be able to mount your CD-ROM.

Windows 200 PC with SP4 won't boot after install of iPod software from CD.
I installed the iPod software from the CD of my new iPod mini. It requested that I reboot the PC, which I did but it never rebooted. It hung and would not even boot in safe mode. After many attempts I booted to the boot console and when throught the install repair process. The PC will still not boot.
Is there any way to bring up the PC without having to rebuild it?
Has anyone found a way to get the PC back to it's original state, without a disk re-format?
Does Apple have a solution?
Any comments from Apple Support or their QA team would be of interestLast know good does not work. I don't receive any error messages. I did the repair but PC still will not boot. The starting windows bar goes about three quarter of the way to the right and then it just stops. It does this regardless fo which boot mode I choose (ie. safe mode).
I do not have the iPod plugged in during this process.

he.Depends, if you've synced with this iTunes, while that passcode was enabled, you won't be prompted to enter the passcode when connecting your phone. If you have not synced, while that passcode was enabled, you will. So, if you fall in the later, there is no way to do what you want.

When I was working with my old job I had a contact list on my phone that was associated with my job's personal email address. Now that I have a new mac and am now a new full time student I would like to use my new uni email address as my default contact list. I have now made this change but have only just realised that I have been adding contacts for a period of months using this now redundant list.
When I sync my computer with my phone (which is working great using iTunes), I am unable to get all of my recent contacts.
I have three groups:
"All contacts" - I understand this is all of my contacts on my phone
"All from My Mac" - This is my new list and constitutes around 80% of my contacts
"Contacts" - This is the old list from my previous employer and contains (I think) 100% of my contacts. Well all of my useful ones anyway - maybe 99%. I would like to delete this group as I don't use the email address anymore and don't work for them!
The end result that I am looking for, is a complete list of ALL of my contacts synced with my computer in Outlook, and to be able to delete my old work contact list!

Problem : Instance info corrupt in SAPMMC after installing the license
I have successfully installed the NW WAS 2004s preview edition and got the 3 month license key.
However after installing the license, when I went to SAPMMC to re-start the system, the SAP Instace information seems to be messed up.
Before installing the license, MMC was showing the SAP system as [Console Root\SAP Systems\NSP\w72c-7wpdl71 0] and now after the installation it has replaced the 7's in my systems name with #'s, so now it looks like
[Console Root\SAP Systems\NSP\w#2c-#wpdl#1 0].
SAP Management Console is completely unusable because of this. It keeps on giving 'Host not found' errors.
Fortunately, everything else with the system seems to be working fine. At least so far !!
- SLICENSE shows the new license.
- SICK does not report any problems.
So far I am forced to use the command prompt to stop and start the instace and the database. This works fine and I am able to start and stop the system.
Any ideas what could have gone wrong ?
Did it not like the '-' in my system name ?
Anything wrong in windows registery ?
Did I install the license incorrectly ?
And how to fix this ?
Any help will be greatly appriciated.

To add more information,
- I did not restart the system, even once, before installing the license.
- After installing the system I just saw SAPMMC and checked all the nodes to see the syslog etc. and they were fine.
- I might have changed some profile parameters after installing the license.

It worked for us too. we restarted the SAP servers from the Administrative Tools-> Services panel.

Is there any way to restore lost sessions closed accidently?
I had many tabs open but accidently closed the firefox without saving it. When I opened next time, I lost all the tabs. Is there any way to restore those tabs.
I saw a posting which refering to renaming a file called sessionstore.bak but I could not find that file. I need a permanenet solution to this. I don't want to save everything in the bookmark. Alternatively, is there any way to save multiple opened sessions which can be retrieved any time.Apparently new in FireFox 4, possibly due to customer demand, there is a selection to Restore Previous Session in the History menu. Unfortunately, I must use it way too OFTEN.

I installed the system update to 10.7.3. After re-booting, my mail file was missing from the dock. Looked in applications and the mail application is missing. Any thoughts?
Thanks Paul; but, taking your suggestion didn't solve the problem. As mail is part of the OS, the updates don't have the capacity to reinstall applications; so, I had to reinstall the OS. I now have my mail back (although it didn't appear on the dock--I had to go to applications and activate it and then put it back in the dock. Thanks again for trying.

Try the Boot Camp Assistant when you are in OS X and download those and follow the directions in BCA utility.
Then look up the Boot Camp forum. I suspect you thought this was MBP related forum, it is for 65 lb tower model (and well the new "nMP Late 2013 Mac Pro" http://www.apple.com/support/macpro/

There was some updayts for my iPad 4 automatically downloaded. After installing it, the iPad began to restart itself every few minutes.
I tryed to update my iPad using iTunes. After connecting to MacBook Pro, where is installed all latest software, iPad is recognised as "iPad", Serial Number: n/a. iTunes run recovery mode, trying to restore iPad firmware, and in the end unknown error occured (3). Tried many times, not results. And now iPad stays only in recovery mode, can't switch it off. How can I solve this problem please?When I restart my iPad the connect to iTunes comes up and stays on until it shuts down again, I have read a report from Apple support suggesting I reinstall iTunes so I might try that again and also your suggestion which i shall also try, but thanks again - rg1547

After installing the latest version of IOS my iPhone 4s rapidly runs out of power, it also suddently (fully charged) shuts down and restarts without me asking for it. I tried to reinstall the latest version of IOS but it doesnt help. Any advice?
Backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.
