After iTunes update and the iPhone Synch - No video on my iPhone
My iTunes does not show any catagory for video either. I just saw a lot of "Other" with a different color on my space bar. How do I get my PURCHASED video's - TV shows and movies back?
One thing that might help out.
If the iphone does not recognize the video on the iphone any more, you can try a reset or restore if necessary. However, to get your video back, once you cleared out "other" just sync the video back from itunes.

You might need to reset and or restore the iphone to resolve any software issues.

"It" is exactly correct.
" It says that I have to erase everything and sync with iTunes."
Again, "it" is correct.
You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to the new one.
The itunes content and picture sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases.
If you sync contacts to a blank computer, then they will be erased as well. -
Manually manage music and videos isn't working after iTunes update and iPhone 4 IOS5 update.
Just update my iPhone 4 to IOS5 and updated to the latest verison of iTunes also and now I can't manually put songs from my music folder into my iPhone's music section now. Normally I would just drag songs into my iPhone's music section but now it won't let me. I have Manually manage music and videos checked also. I'm also running Windows 7. Any help would be great.
I am having the exact same problem. Also with transfering PDF files. It's frustrating. ANY help would be appreciated. I also run W7. I have an iPod Touch 4.

After itunes update to 10.7.0.21, videos won't play
After udating to the latest version (10.7.0.21), none of my videos will play. These are all itunes-purchased videos that have played before with no problems. I do not receive any error messages from itunes. Instead, the video jumps, skips, and freezes like a DVD with scratches! The audio and video are completely disconnected from one another, and after about 2 minutes of this, the whole thing just freezes. This NEVER happened before the 10.7.0.21 update.
I tried the user fix of unchecking the Quicktime Preferences 'Enable Direct3D' box and restarting the computer. This did not help. I then tried putting Quicktime in Safe Mode, and restarting the computer. This also did not help.
Suggestions?Likewise! I only have iTunes to watch US TV, so I don't have to wait 2 or 3 years for R2 DVD.
When it didn't playback video right I downloaded quicktime and have put it in safe mode, but quicktime does exactly the same thing, so no help. BBC iplayer is working fine and TV downloaded from blinkbox also plays fine in windows media player. Hmmmm, at least I've something to watch, but I've just paid £30 for a season pass Apple!
I'm on an advent se1101 pc running windows 7, just ran windows update to fix IE security, so though of itunes and updated that, REALLY wish I hadn't! -
TS1717 missing MSVCR80.dll after iTunes update and reinstall
Running Windows 8 and did latest update for iTunes and now it wont run, tried reinstall numerous times, same result. Missing MSVCR80.DLL file.
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I updated my laptop and now the majority of my contents seem to have been wiped. Is there anything I can do to recover them? My backup was connected at the time so it has already backed-up to the computer's present state. Most photos/ Itunes/ Mail... has been lost. I have some stuff but only up until January 2013.
If all your files are missing
You may have logged in as a different user, such as Guest. Open the Users & Groups pane in System Preferences. Your name should be at the top of the user list, under Current User. See also this support article.
If files are missing from one folder
Change the Finder view mode; for example, from icon view to list view, or vice versa.
If files are present, but seem outdated
You may have started up from a different volume (disk.) Open the Startup Disk preference pane and check the selection. -
Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
I wasted about 1.5 hours with Apple on this issue. It all started happening after I updated to the latest version of iTunes. I haven't been able to sync my iPhone 4 in 1 month and am freaking out about possibly losing my pictures, video, text messages and music.
Windows XP user.

My iPhone 3gs has frozen while doing update 5.0.1 I think it was. All it shows is the iTunes logo and the usb cable on the screen. I will not turn on or off. I have tried reconnecting to iTunes but nothing happens. Have held both buttons for 10 seconds etc and nothing is working! What can I do?

How can I get my iPhone 4 to update my updates from my app store of it keeps telling me error 3150 or it tell me to refresh the page after updates and the updates are still there asking me to update them again?
Make sure iTunes on the computer is logged into the account on the phone.
Plug the iPhone in.
In the popup window warning about wiping your phone, hit cancel.
In the left pane of iTunes, the phone icon should be there.
Right click on it, select transfer purchases.
Note: this will only transfer music bought from iTunes. Not mp3's from amazon or ripped from CD's. -
iphone 4 not recognised by laptop after upgrading Itunes, the itunes symbol and a usb cord has appeared on my Iphone 4 screen. Frustrated isn't the word.
After installing latest version of Itunes, I connected my Iphone via USB and selcted yes to upgrade my Iphone, towards the end of the upgrade a notification popped up indicating that the upgrade had failed. Since then my Iphone just isn't responding, I've tried reinstalling Itunes, turning off Norton Security.

I've been through all those and apart from anything else, itunes is not seeing my phone, I therefore cannot restore the phone.
Have tried deleting and reinstalling itunes in case something was missing there, though the fact the problem is on both my mac and my windows machine seems to me to suggest a phone problem..
Is it possible that the latest IOS update which I did a week or so ago was not completed correctly? If so could this cause the problem? And how can I correct it?

have reformatted my Imac using original discs (installed leopard (10.5)) tried to do the software update but it cant download the itunes update and when it gets to the configure update screen after restart for main update, it just gets stuck. HELP!
The configure bar gets about an 1/8 full and then just does nothing. I think its lists the update as combo update? cant remember with out checking.
I have tried to do the disk verify and repair but this has made no difference.
Please let me know what i need to do, I have reformatted the mac just to start over as was clogged with a lot of useless data, I had installed lion (10.7) from the app store previously and now cant seem to find a way to re install lion. I hope I dont need to pay for it again?If you erased your hard drive, you'll need to reinstll OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to access the App store. You won't have to pay for OS X 10.7 Lion again. Did you try booting to the recovery partition by holding the command and r keys down? If that's still there, you can reinstall OS X 10.7 from there.
If you're looking to install the current iTunes, you need OS X 10.6.8 at a minimum.
If you're still trying to update OS X 10.5 Leopard, you can download the combo update from here. Download, use Disk Utility to repair permissions, apply the update, then repair permissions again. That will take you to OS X 10.5.8. -
iphone wont recognize in itunes. it's got the latest software update and the latest version of itunes on the computer. the phone works as normal but i want to restore it but can't because i can only get the the recovery mode stage and then it needs itunes???

I tried to update my nephew iphone 4 version 4.3.4 (8k2), I did back-up everything before attempting to update and the result when I click down-load and update, it does not update instead it says, itunes could not contact the iphone software update server because you are not connected to the internet. I did check my wire-less connections and the connection from my PC to wire-less is hundred percent okay. I did search using google.com to confirm and my connections is good. My daughter has an iphone 3gs and it required an update. So i connected the iphone to itunes for the update and the iphone locked up . I had to reset the iphone back to factory settings and now the iphone will not activate , Please advise what i can do to get this working for her ?

160 gig classic froze as soon as plugged in
