After rendering, video track turns a solid green?

Using FCE 3.5, after rendering video, the audio track works, but the video track is all just a solid green frame.  No video whatesover, only green.  Any ideas on how to fix this???  Thanks so much.

First, what effect(s) are you applying?  Are there settings in the effect that might be turning the video green?  Are you trying to chroma key a green screen?
Also, details help.  Exactly what model Mac are you using?  What version of OS X?  What are your sequence settings?  What is the source of the video clip?  Clip properties?  Any other effects you are using on the same clip(s)?

I am useing FCE 2.  After rendering the video playback is jurky about 10 frames at a time.  Audio is fine.  What created the problem?

I had been working on the project for a few days. It is mostly pix and a couple videos. It has several scrolling text segments. Everything was going fine, then after a rendering a large scrolling text it started. It appears that it skips 12 frames each time as I'm  playing back.

  • Walking characters, multiple video tracks/clips with a green screen

I'm pretty new to Final Cut Pro.
    Here is the scenario:
    -I have three characters (puppets).
-Each are recorded on a separate video track.
-Each are recorded with a green screen for the background.
-They are all walking in the same direction.
Question: How do I have all three characters walk along the same path on the same video? I have layered them one on top of the other and have tried to mess around with the different settings (including: Mask Shape filter; cropping the clip). However, they either walk out of the clip or there is not enough room between them with all clips playing at the same time.
Is there some way to isolate the character and their movements?
(P.S. I need them all to be of the same opacity in the end)
    Thanks for your expertise.

    1. I have three characters moving quite a large distance. I am trying to fit all of this movement into one clip and not have the video clips overlapping (I am also dealing with puppeteers in the background, so there is a lot I still have to edit out of the background using Shake).
Good luck on Shake but creating a mask and then processing the key is easy in Motion.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "executing the keys".
Masking, tweaking, processing, rendering. If you set up each puppet as a separate project in Motion, you can successfully execute on of the keys and then apply the same settings to the other two.

And yes, I need to figure out what it means to export with the Alpha.
Exporting the movie removes all processing so all you're doing is stacking up three puppets moving against a transparent background. Each can be scaled, positioned, keyframed, and have interactive shadows applied to it without requiring the chromakey to be process first. Huge timesaver.

Motion requires some pretty hefty graphics hardware. You must have at least a 4870. But you have not specified in any of your posts what your format is.

  • After Rendering Video turns a different color and looks hazy

I've used Adobe Premiere Pro for about 2 years and I have never had this problem.  After I render my video, the color and clarity of my video completely changes.  I have only used a sharpening effect and a brightness effect to fix a few details.  I also have removed these effects and rendered, and it still messed up the color and clarity.  I have tried to reinstalled the program and it didn't help.  I have tried to open a new project with some video to see if the rendering issue was just with my project or the whole program and it still did it.  So now any video for any project has this issue and I have never experienced this before.
I am wondering if I have hit a hot key that has changed the outcome of my video....
If anyone knows anything about this problem or has experienced something similar, please help me.

I am just rendering files and viewing them in my preview screen to see what I am doing before I export.

  • No audio output after rendering video in Premiere Pro CS5.5

I have a pretty simple video with 2 audio tracks -- 1 from the GoPro video, the other is a song. Everything plays fine while editing -- but when I export the video, the audio disappears. Is this a bug or are my settings buggered up? See audio settings below:
And here are the video settings:

OK - I tried AME. I imported the PRPro proejct - managed all the settings, pressed "start" and let it sit. Nothing happened -- it stalled and never rendered a single frame. I know, different issue than before.
Back to the previous problem: I am posting my project window for you to check out. I re-rendered it, and same problem.

  • Onion skinning function disappear after rendering video. why?

how can I save my animation file including the Onion skinning effect. I try to save my animation several times using different saving formats but the result was always the same: (the onion skinning effect is not include).
I also would like to apply onion skinning command to a part of the animation and not for all the duration of time, the command apply to all duration of animation which is so limited. Is there a way to apply only for a apart which can be time or a level. Thanks
Please give me your answer because I really need it.

Onion skin is an aid while you work on a project so that you have a sense of where you are in the fourth dimension. It is not intended to be rendered.
Most video editors offer an effect where 'motion trails.' Photoshop is not a video editor.

  • After Rendering Video Becomes Pixeled?

I'm using FCE and Live Type. I've never had this issue before. I'm putting a lower-third on a music video I'm making. If I stick the livetype file into FCE it shows 'red' at the top indicating it hasn't rendered. If I move the marker to part of the unrendered clip, it looks fine. If I render off to a full quality video (before it does the preview-render) the full quality clip looks fine.
However, if I let it do a preview render, now inside my working area, the text looks pixelated, and if I do a full quality render the text ends up really nasty.
I deleted my render files and re-rendered the previews and the issue still existed.
    Any thoughts?

Ok, maybe I'm going to reveal a lack of knowledge here, but where do I find the 'project settings'? I know where the clip settings are.
    My Clips are running:
    29.97fps
    720x480
    DV/DVCPRO-NTSC
    My LiveTypes are running:
    29.97fps
    720x486
    LiveType Codec Decompressor
My 'Easy Setup' is set to 'All Formats' 'All Rates' 'DV-NTSC 32kHz FireWire Basic'.

  • After rendering video the audio is no longer in sync. Stumped on what's wrong.

I am working on a project similar to others I have done. This is in CS5 with Premiere Pro.
The video is a .m4v at 1080p and 23.976. Audio is 48Hz 16-bit stereo wave.
In editing the audio together I am finding that the further into the video I go the harder it is to get good playback (that's an issue with .m4v files). So I went ahead and rendered the video.
Well now all of the audio is off. I would be forced to redo all of the audio. I have looked at every setting I can think of to no avail. I started a new project and rendered the video right off the bat, but when I placed the synced audio into the timeline, it's off.
I am so stumped I don't even know where to begin. Rendering the video should not change a thing. But it has. Somewhere.
    Any ideas?
This project is a personal one. I don't like the terribly cheap and shoddy 5.1 remixes for most Hong Kong martial arts pictures so I rip the BD's and use the audio from my old laserdiscs (LD audio is never remixed). At 16 bit PCM it sounds superb. But natrually it needs to be synced since laserdiscs were transferred from worn out theatrical prints. Some jobs require minimal editing. Somne a lot. Once finished I create a brand new Blu-Ray to enjoy in my home theater. Anal, yes. but it's a hobby.
I have never encountered this audio drift issue before.

In the Finder, navigate to your projec folder. Look in the Shared Items folder. Is there a video ffile inside? Does it play intact?

  • The video files from Colin Smith's Adobe Speedgrade tutorial are solid green but other video files work.

    Howdy,
I downloaded the project files for Colin Smith's Speedgrade tutorial but all the video files show as solid green and have a frame rate of 0.01 to 0.00 from within premiere Pro CC14 but they play fine on VLC player.  I tried to download and unzipped the files multiple times with the same result.  Other MP4 content works fine on the Premiere Pro timeline.
    Thanks,

  • Still photos imported to imovie change to solid green

i'm using all the newest versions of iLife and Aperture (as of 11/13/13)... i use iMovie to make slideshows from my photography because i like the controls better than in Aperture or iPhoto... however, since upgrading to Mavericks and all of the new iWorks, iLife, Aperture on my Fall 2011 MBA, when i import still photos into iMovie to make a slideshow, they have a propensity to be rendered, at least in previews, as solid green images (think green screen)... i'm using jpeg images that have been exported to a separate file from my Aperture library, all using RGB color... there seems to be no rhyme or reason to which ones render incorrectly and which do not... sometimes the thumbnail image appears as the solid green, most of the time, though, it will appear as a standard thumbnail image, but show up green on the preview screen. I have not tried actually exporting the project as a quicktime movie to see what happens. I have tried closing and reopening imove after import, but that seems to make no difference.  if i delete the files and reimport, sometimes they will import correctly, but often they do not.
My iMovie files, as well as the exported jpg's are all located on my internal SSD. Is anyone else having this kind of thing happen?

I have been having the same problem with iMovie and the iPhoto library, where the imported pictures turn to solid green.
What I tried was to convert the photos to a video fileand import into iMovie - this is what I did:
    - I opened up iPhoto and created a slideshow with the picture (or pictures) to be added to the iMovie project.
    - Then I exported the slideshow to the desktop (or wherever you want) which creates a video file. I noticed it is      mpeg-4 format, and I do not see anywhere to change this format.
    - Back in iMovie, I imported the new video into the project either by Import Media or dragging it in, I guess either      way works.
This seems to work for me so far, even though I'm still experimenting. But I am still disappointed in this, since it only happened since the upgrade to Mavericks and iMovie 10.

  • Is there a way to "hide" a video track?

    Hi!
I am editing two videos at once on one timeline - one the main video of a presenter speaking, another on a track underneath the main video, of a timer. Is there a way to "hide" my main video so that I can see my timer video that is below it on the timeline? I don't see that option in this software.
    Thank you!

If you did want to go the Opacity route for revealing your content under video on Video Track 2, you might want to consider
    doing it this way....
I am using Premiere Elements 13/13.1 for the model, but this would be applicable to other versions as well. In the following screenshot, note that each of the video clips (on Video Track 1 and Video Track 2) has an orange line running horizontally through it. This is called the rubberband. For the video clip on a Video Track, the rubberband represents Opacity by default. So you can click/drag up or down on that rubberband (orange line) to change the Opacity ranging from 100% to 0%.
Screenshot 1 shows the condition when both Video Track 1 and Video Track 2 clips are both at 100% and only the Video Track 2 clip is showing. The rubberband is at the top of the clip (100%).
Screenshot 2 shows the condition after the Video Track 2 clip's rubberband is clicked and dragged from the top to bottom of the clip (100% to 0%). Now only Video Track 1 clip is shown on screen..

  • Red rendering line in timeline turns green after rendering but then reappears.

I''m a new user of Premiere Elements 10 and relatively new to video editing.  My system info is: 2010 Mac Pro quadcore 2.66 Ghz with 12 Gigs of memory, NVIDIA GeForce GT120 512Mb running Lion 10.7.3.  The red rendering line in my project turns green, as expected, after rendering but then reappears red after I close the project and reopen it.  The project is saved regularly after rendering and everything works normally.  No changes are made to any clips and as I stated the render line is green when the project is saved and closed.  Any ideas what I might be doing wrong.  Thanks in advance.

Thank you for that information. It kills about all of my theories.
Something is keeping PrE from seeing the links that it created to the Render Files, so PrE cannot find them - the link is dead.
I know so very little about Mac's, that I cannot even imagine where to begin. Maybe a Mac-user will drop by, and have an idea, and then we both will learn something.
Wish that I had more to offer, but good luck,

  • PE7 - stop video from running after rendering text titles

    Hi gang,
When I add manual "sub-titles"  aka text titles to my videos, it works best when I render them as I'm going along with the ENTER key.    That's fine but the video then wants to KEEP start playing from the start and that's driving me bananas.  Can I turn this off?
Sorry, if this has been mentioned before.
    cheerio
    Petey

    Hi Hunt,
Indeed, I would never want the video to playback automatically after rendering.
In PE7, it was exactly where you mentioned.
BTW - rearranging menus is part of the neverending game, that drives us all constant upgraders completey bonkers!!!  Just like how AVI export dissappeared and reappeared into SHARE in PE 7.   What a nomad! hehe
    cheerio!

  • Video "Hits" After Rendering

After I render a piece of my timeline and look at it on our studio monitor, I'm getting a good amount of what I would call "hits" in the video, like hits you would see on an old tape that's past its prime. The timeline has a number of graphics layered on top of one another with text and moving jpegs, with a broadcast safe filter on everything.
I've had weird things appear after rendering before, but they've always gone away after rerendering. This time they're pretty consistently in the same spots.
Any ideas about settings I should look into or other work arounds?

I have seen this on several occasions and there seem to be a few causes.
    possibilities:
    1) you are using the Broadcast safe filter, if the clipping on your images are extreme you get strange green and white artifacts after rendering. Try using the 3-way color corrector to bring levels down before applying the BS filter. Or if the artifacts are occurring on graphics, make adjustments in Photoshop (or whatever program you created the graphics in) and bring them back into FCP. A lot of people create graphics using the full range of RGB colors and luminance values. NTSC video does not have as large of a chroma and luma range as RGB.
    2) You are working in an uncompressed 10-bit sequence and applying filters that are not compatible (for lack of a better word) with Apple's 10-bit codec. (Or you are just getting random render problems in 10-bit). I have had many, many render issues in 10-bit that went away by switching to 8-bit. In most cases you can't really see much difference between 8 and 10 bit video anyway, so why go through the hassle or working with it. If you are doing a lot of green screen work, you may want to reevaluate this argument.
I'm sure there are other possible causes for the problems you're experiencing, but these are the ones I've run into in the past.
Graeme Nattress knows a lot about 10-bit issues in FCP, perhaps he can chime in with some suggestions/explanations.
