After restoring original settings can phone numbers be retrieved

after restoring original settings, can phone numbers be retrieved?

You can sync them from the computer to the iPhone using iTunes.
You could also restore the iPhone from backup.

  • Can't send email after restoring original settings

Running 3.0, my iPhone was working just fine until yesterday, including being able to send and receive email. Then today I could neither send nor receive email, update the weather forecast, or use Safari to connect to the internet. In an attempt to solve all those problems (Why do they occur!?) I restored the original settings. Now everything works, including receiving email, except that I am not able to send email. When I try to send email I get a message saying the following:
    Cannot Send Mail
Check the settings for the outgoing servers in Settings > Mail, contacts, and Calendars.
I've checked the settings for outgoing servers and they are the same as they have always been, and the same as what I have for Mail on my computer. So what am I to do?

P.S. My $600 iPhone has certainly been a disappointment.

What email service provider are you using?
    RoadRunner
If you haven't already, try to delete the account from the iPhone and then add it again.
I just deleted the account from my iPhone and then added the account. I am now able to send email again. Thank you, Jason.
Do you see the issue while connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi, 3G, and EDGE?
How do I determine how I'm connected?

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
    NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

  • Restoring original settings?

i recently got a 2nd hand mac mini and i was connecting it to my 40 inch sony bravia and as i was changing the display settings it got stuck on a setting that my display did not support and now i cant see what i'm doing, is there anyway of fixing this or a way to restore original settings?? please help

ok. boot again and hold the shift key. that should boot into safe mode. could take a little bit longer than normal boot. then select system preferences and change the resolution to a working available one, reboot and see if it can display the chosen resolution then select a compatible res.

Download iTunes 11 from the Apple site and reinstall. The error message was quite plain in telling you what to do to resolve the error.

  • I have been given an Apple 3G which is in jailbreak.  After restoring and updating my phone will not accept any updates or restoration. Unknown error 1015. Please help!

I have been given an Apple 3G which is in jailbreak.  After restoring and updating my phone to get rid of jailbreak the iphone will not accept any updates or restoration. Unknown error 1015. Please help!  I am new to all this and want to start using the phone legitimately.

I believe from the situation you describe your iPhone 3g has the iPAD baseband 6.15.00 which is interfering with iTunes. Remember Apple does not allow downgrade of software typically. The current 3g firmware 4.2.1 has a baseband 5.15.04 which is lower than, what I believe your baseband is of 6.15.00. So to install the current 3g firmware 4.2.1 would actually be a baseband downgrade, which iTunes will not allow. So to fix your iPhone you will have to search the Web like diesel vdub said. There are no parts to buy and your iPhone will work again I promise.

  • Iphone 3gs after restore cant activated.. phone is unlock..

iphone 3gs after restore cant activated.. phone is unlock..

    Hello skyway9992,
It sounds like you cannot activate your iPhone 3GS after restoring it.   I found an article that has steps for troubleshooting an activation issue on an iPhone.
    iPhone: Troubleshooting activation issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3424
I have included the steps from that article here:
    Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to Wi-Fi if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • Restore Original Settings ?'s

If I restore my original settings (which everyone on here recommends when you are having a problem) will I lose all of my contact information? Is there a way to back up contacts to iTunes?

connect your phone to iTunes. Click the phones icon. click restore.
    Continue from there.
The backup is carried out first and a file is saved to your library. Then the phone is restored and then the backup replaces your contacts, pics, tunes etc.
    Just follow the prompts.

  • Restore original settings

hi,my sons ipod touch is not being recognised by itunes ( tried on two different pc's and 3 different logon's)
it only gives the option to restore factory settings.
Is there any way to avond this "traumatic" step ?

thanks afraid you/someone would say that.
which is better to restore from icloud or itunes ?

  • HT4623 activation of i phone after restore factory settings

i restored my i phone factory settings but now its not activating showing no sim services and display message that we are sorry at the movement try again later please tell me what to do now with this phone

"We're Sorry, Activation Server Temporarily Unavailable, contact Customer Care...Your request Could Not Be Completed?"
99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.

  • Can't connect to Wifi after restoring factory settings and restoring backup (internet on computer working just fine)

Want to die.  I've wasted my entire Sunday trying to connect to Wifi on my phone.  I tried the reset network settings, restored the phone to factory settings then restored the backup and still no game.  I have restarted the **** thing and am very frustrated. Every time I've updated my software with Apple I end up having to replace my phone.  I have an appointment with the genius bar tomorrow ,but hopefully someone here can help me so I don't jump in a river before that time.

    Hmmm.....
It's worth a hard reset (press and hold the sleep/wake button and the Home button together, ignoring the 'slide to power down' message and then release them when the display blanks. Press the sleep/wake button until the logo appears and then wait for the restart which takes a little while...)
Apart from that, it may be worth clearing Safari's cache, etc..... (Settings > Safari > Clear History/Cookies/Cache)
    In any event, 'Good luck'!!
If all else fails it IS possible that some WiFi hotspots are VERY hot and emit more power than is really allowable in the Standards, resulting in 'frying' your WiFi receiver (possible but unlikely). If this is the case, return your iPhone to an Apple store with the 'WiFi not working' message but don't mention Starbuck's or anyone else.....just don't use Starbuck's WiFi service ever again!
