i sent my ipod back to apple with a duff battery. Apple, instead of returning original ipod with new battery actually sent me a new ipod with different serial number which then totally corrupted my itunes because i didn't know, i then wrecked it some more by trying to hook up a new iphone before i found i cannot have more than 1 itunes account on the same PC!!! HELP.

Check this support document for SIM issues http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4148. No one here is Apple, we are users like you. We can only recommend you try Apple again, unless you are close to an Apple store and can make an appointment to go in there.

TS3297 I keep getting an error when trying to add songs to the iCloud. Error reads: "We could not complete your iTunes_Store request. An unknown error occurred (4002)" I have tried to completely delete iTunes and reinstall but still getting error.

Sending an iPod back to Apple?

So I've been thinking about sending my iPod touch 4th generation (on iOS 4.2.1) back to Apple. The sound has some sort of problem--more specifically, the earphone port. When I play a song, it plays only through the speakers, even when a headset is connected. I've determined it isn't the fault of a specific headset, because I have tried several without any success. I've also tried these same headsets on a friend's iPod shuffle and they've all worked. So sending it back for this reason would be viable, right?
However, the screen on my iPod is cracked. In "request online service" Apple states that they can send my device back if they decide that the condition does not match what has been described in the online form. Not only am I only allowed to specify one fault, but the fact that the screen is cracked doesn't seem to be a valid reason, as it does not fall under any of the categories in the dropdowns. So here I'm having a dilemna. I'm not sure whether or not I should send it, if it's only going to get rejected.
Any insight would be helpful
(P.S., if I were to send it back, what should I include? Is only the device required? Or should I also send back my Apple earphones and the USB wire?)

I noticed some weird sounds, like somehting is moving with the mac 1-2 times, even if I have no mechanical parts other than the fans, but my real issue at the moment is that my microphone is not working. I can see the mic in the System Info however and in Audio Midi Setup. In the Audio Midi Setup I see that the master chanel is turned off and I can't turn in on. Ch 1 and 2 are on full. I also noticed the first seconds after the comp. boots the blue bar goes to the middle in the System Preferences -> Sound -> Input. Any ideas what to do or try? I do not want to go back to the apple store as it is 50 minutes away from here and I need my laptop as a computer science student. Everything else is working perfectly.

You need to call both the store that did the repair and Apple directly, warranty service or Apple care, and report this problem with both of them and get a ticket number of some kind (some kind of verification number) that the unit just came back from major service with this problem and that you want it fixed when you can lose the use of it, which is not right now.
Without doing something like that they could easily say it is damage not covered under the normal warranty.
God knows what the repair center did and did not do to it while it was there.
And depending on when you actually bought it the warranty could run out in the mean time.

I Need Help with Sending My Ipod Back!

I need to send my ipod back because I think the headphone connector is broken but I'm confused. When go to the page where you send it back it asks you some questions. At the start it asks you if you need to replace a part or the whole thing...whick should I chose? Also at one part it asks you what's wrong with the ipod. It has a drop down menu and i'm not sure what to put. Also after that it asks you which faulty accessory you have. What happens when you don't have a faulty accessory or you don't know what's wrong with it? What else would a headphone connector be called...sorry i'm really thick

If you have used your iPod with other headphones and it still won't work then you would need the whole iPod replaced.
So...
1) Repair whole unit
2) For select an issue, click Sound Quality
You should be able to complete the rest of the form.

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.

If so, not good, you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to your computer. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

I just received my Iphone 4S back from Apple. Sent in for repair due to unable to connect to WIF box was shadded gray. They sent me a replacement phone and when I turned it on it says to insert the SIM card? Very confused as I thought Iphones did not need a SIM card.

Don't understand your confusion as all mobile phones require a SIM. You would have installed it yourself the first time you got the phone from your carrier or they may have helpfully put it in for you and you did not pay attention at the time. A trip to your carrier may help as they may issue you with another SIM card?
Did you leave the SIM card in the phone when you took it in for repair? If so then the store that did the repair should have transferred it for you? Get back to them and ask them the question.
Have you used the SIM slot tool (looks like a paper clip and is in the box the phone originally came in) to check if the SIM is still there? Maybe it just needs re-inserting?

Thank you to all who are simpathetic to windows users, I have all the updates for windows. Have itunes 7.01. ipod software 1.11.
I have experienced many crashes when connecting ipod. It has gotten better since I restored and updated the ipod software. It won't cash if I open itunes before connecting but if I connect without itunes open it crashes. (say after reboot/restart)
The error message I got on black screen was:

Many of your post have been helpful exspecialy about unchecking the auto restart at system failure. So I could abtain the error message.
