My iPod 5th gen is not turning on after iOS 8 update! Before this all happened, I noticed that my apps crashed unexpectedly, it was laggy, and it decides to reset on its own at times. I CAN'T charge or plug it into my computer. Also, my home button is sunk in but my sleep/wake button at the top is most definitely not. I know my iPod was not running out of battery and I did not even power it off. I am very disappointed but I really need it to turn on =/
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Ignore the reset and when it says place the iPod in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have a 4th gen. ipod touch. It has software 4.2.1 and itunes always tells me I need to update to ios 6. I always click download and install. After the download is complete, nothing happens. It doesn't install on its own and there is no option to install manually.. Thanks.
Are you sure it is a 4G iPod? Does it have a camera?

Apps are not being transferred after updating to new iOS
I've read a few posts but nothing explicitly about this issue. I am the original account owner, same computer, iPod has worked with the same apps for over a year until I updated to the new iOS a few days ago.
I recently updated my iPod Touch to the new iOS a few days ago; it transferred all my music, and everything else, except for my apps. I tried Store > Authorize this Computer on my desktop (which reminded me I'm still authorized, oh joy) as well as Settings > Store on my iPod. I'm not sure what I need to do next? Any suggestions would be greatly beneficial! Thanks!Before I updated to iOS 5.0.1, I was given 3 options "Download and Update", "Download", "Cancel" (or whatever). I chose to just download, without installing it, which would allow me to back-up all the data from my iPod to my desktop. I presume that path wasn't available if someone selected "Download and Update" immediately which informed me that it would erase all data without actually backing up before it installed. I'd have to assume at that point when your apps were re-installed after your update, it would still keep the previously saved sync data from the last time you plugged into your computer. I'm not sure if that was the case for you, but I never signed in to Game Center until now so I'm not sure how that works. This is also considering that iCloud was just introduced to mobile devices. I have submitted build by xcode 6.1 but in itunes account shows us Apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with Xcode 5.1.1 or later, and iOS 7 or later SDK after clicking the submit for review.
Please tell me the solution as soon as possible and i am able to remove the build.You have used Xcode 6.1 and it is a valid version, so you should not have any problem. Anyway, if there is any problem, Apple will contact with you to fix it before your app is published.

stevejobsfan is correct; iwork for ios is free only for new purchases of new ios devices. A good work around (if you have wifi connectivity) is going to the icloud website on your ipad, and working on your document.
A word of caution (the real reason I am responding to your post). If you do a lot of 'formatting' of a document on iwork for mac, and then save it in icloud; you will probably loose most of the formatting you have done (this will be true if you oppen the document in iwork for ios; also) It happened to me, and I did not duplicate the document before saving it to icloud; I lost at least an hours worth of work. -
My iPhone automatically recovers some deleted images after iOS update
Some months back I deleted few images off my iPhone. I understand that photo stream was 'On'. I noticed that my iPhone was recovering the images now and then. I put 'Off' all the sharing services, photo streams etc etc still my iPhone recovers these images after an iOS update. These are some sensitive photos and I would be in big trouble if this continues.
What exactly have you tried?

everything should be on your computer.
If you do as you should and make sure that everything is on your computer, then you should lose nothing. -
After updating to ios 6 my phone had to be restored. Now it will not acitvate. I am receiving the message that ther server is unavailable. However, I can not use my phone at all until it is activated. why can I not activate?
Well, 99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, either get a sim card from the carrier your phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked. -

iOS 4.3.5 is not the same as iOS 5. iOS 5 with the new features you list has not been released.

HI. i'm on the beta version of iOS 7.1 (beta 3) and i wanted to get OTA update on my iPad2. after install, i unlocked my device and saw : it may take a few minutes to activate your iPad. after about 5 minutes, it was show an error : we couldn't activate your iPad at this time . please Help me !
Are you a developer? If so, post this question in the developer forum. If not, why are you using a beta version of ios 7? You need to restore your device as NEW in itunes and update the current software version.

installed latest iOS on my iPad mini, it got stuck while restarting after update. It is still in that stage even after 7 hours.
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
* If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:

After restoring to factory settings/new iPod you will then have to restore from backup
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
