Agents in the User Decision

Hi Experts,
We are implementing the Leave Request WF using WS12300111.
We have a user decision step. This is for the HR admin to take a decision if a manual posting has been successful or not.
There is already a rule 60100010 which has the responsibilities defined in it which define the possible agents who can execute this work item.
Can i use this rule directly in the User Decision step? Is there any specific binding required for the same.
If the user clicks on NO, then a pop up shud appear where the user enters his comments.This is a dialog step. In this case, can we use the same rule as the agent or is there any necessity to provide an agent.

Hi,
You need to create the "LATESTAGENT" container element. But first take a look to the previous step. You can basically bind from task to the workflow the user who executed the step. If I remember correctly this element was "Agent". So, just bind it from the previous step into your new container element in WF container. Then use that as an expression the next step's agent.
You can also use the rule as I explained in my previous answer. The above method is a bit better since than it forces the work item to the user who completed the previous work item. But if you are using the advance with dialog option, the rule will work as well.

Not able to view the User Decisions Buttons in UWL

Hi Experts,
We have configured the UWL for the WI execution. Now the Problem is I am not able to view the User Decisions Step buttons in UWL instead when I select the User Decision Step it is opening in SAP GUI there I am able to view the SBWP WI decisions screen.
But I need those buttons in UWL instead logging in SAP. CurrentlyI am able to see "Open Task", "Resubmit", "Forward" & "Assign to Me" buttons but similarly I want to display the User Decisions Buttons as well. Please let me know o how to achieve this requirement.

Hi Viji,
I am sorry if it got confused I have copied the standard BO and done the enhancement to the DECISION method as per my requirement and now when I give this task in UWL it does not show up the buttons in Portal instead upon opening the work item it will open a SAP GUI and there it will show up the USER decision details similar to the things in the SBWP transaction. Instead I have seen some cases where it had shown the User Decision buttons in the Portal itself.
Let me know if you have any idea on this.

Query about the "User Decision

I have a query about the u201CUser Decisionu201D, Suppose I have received the 10 quantity and lot get created for 10. At time of UD (QA11) I put 7 quantities in unrestricted and 3 in blocked stock .what we generally use to do with that block stock? Whether we again transfer it to quality stock (Movement 349)? Or move directly to unrestricted (movement: 343).
I tried to move the blocked stock in u201Cquality stocku201D in transaction MB1B with movement 349 but it had given error u201CChange the inspection stock of material 9112223334A in QM onlyu201D. In QM how to transfer the blocked stock in quality stock?

Dear Prashanth,
Quantity of 3 is rejected so you blocked it? why you want to bring it again to Quality? Use of putting in block is as follows:
Since quantity of 3 is rejected and need to be kept aside you are blocking the stock, the purchase person will send back this material to vendor directly from block stock (MBRL or MIGO). This is best practice.
There can be other situation that your vendor came to your place and done rework om that 3 blocked items and you are satisfied with the quality then you can use respective movement for transferring from block to unrestricted, if you want lot to be generated then assign 08 insp type and do inspection.

User decision Dead line

Hi Experts,
I am having a user decision step type and for that i have deadline for 3 days it works fine as long as the person dosent click the work item.
In some cases the agent clicks the user decision workitem but dos't take any action for more than 3 days. In such a case also i need to send a dead line notification mail how to do this.
In this case the normal dead line is not applicable as he had already clicked the user decision but did not take any action.
kindly advice me on how to do this.

you can keep a activity step after the user decision step and write the code which calculates the number of days passed and use the appropriate FM SAP_WAPI* to set the status of the workitem to "Ready" Status.
or
keep a wait step for 3 days and if the decision step is not in completed status, keep a "send mail" step which can remind the approver that the workitem is still pending for approval.
Hope others might give a better design...

User decision activity not going to the agents(Position Maintained).

Hi All,
I assigned a specific Position in the agent field of the user decision activity. But after assigning, the decisiion step is not going to the expected agent but it getting executed by the WF-BATCH user.
I have checked the same in the Tcode : PO13 and the corresponding user is the only one maintained for that position.
Kindly guide what can be the possible reasons. Is there any thing i am missing.

Thanks.Yes.Latest start and latest end are already maintained and there is a Rule when the latest start missed also. kindly let me know how i can avoid this also..
How to check whether the position is maintained to the SAP user id?.I have seen the user maintained under the position in Tcode PO13..
The deadline is calculated 4 days after sydatum.
One more thing the Workitem got reserved by the WF-batch and executed by WF-batch.

User decision step agent issue

Hi All
In my WF I get a user profile back from a method that check a ZTABLE for the correct user to receive mail and a user decision work item .
The mail step is working correctly and sending mail to the user (as per the parameter returned from the method)
The problem is that user decision step does not sent a workitem to the correct user .
Any ideas on what the problem might be ?
In the email step I bind to &ADDRESSSTRINGS&.Not sure what the correct binding is for the user decision step?

BPM User decision Agent assignment

I am working on User decision steps in BPM. I have added Configurable Parameter in Integration Process but after importing it into ID, I am not able to assign any user in parameters. Once I put the value and save/activate, value got cleared out.

Step for User Decision

Hi All,
I have a scenario and two solutions for it.
Please give me the input for which is a better solution and why.
Scenario - Approver have to either Approve/ Reject a particular request made.
The user decision has to come from Java front end and the workitem created has to be executed externally
( not by opening sap inbox)
Soln 1 : Create an asynchronous task and custom terminating events for the workitem and trigger terminating event for any user decision Approve or Reject.
Soln 2 : Send an normal decision task and programatically execute one of the decision using the WAPI* FM when user clicks Approve/Reject.
Both of them I think uses the WAPI * FM.

Sorry I was not clear in my question before.
I still refered to the first solution which uses a Aysn Task and a method which does not have any code (just a placeholder)
IA is absolutely right but I dont have the flexibilty to use an ivew.

What additional code that would be required for the second solution (both uses a sap WAPI FM )
Both can be tracked by WF tools by finding out the agent and the person who have completed the Workitem so which tools you were mentioning about
Actually I did not get which is a better solution but realized both can be used atleast no worry on the performance load. My be this topic can go for a long time to figure out

Need Help on User decision step in BPM

Hi All,
I have a requirement to design the user to to system interaction in a partiular scenario. I am trying to use the User decision step in BPM available in PI 7.1 server. I have used the User decision step and filled all the parametes as given in the sap documentation. When I am trying to execute the scenario, The outbound process is succesful but stops at the BPM workflow at the User decision step with the message (No Agent ready) .
Can anybody help me in solving this issue.

Issue about user decision

Dears:
   in my workflow , when the wf trigger user decision, the decision appear in the inbox of the agent assigned to the user decision.
    but when i double click the user decision in inbox, it give message 'No administrator found for the task'
   and when i test workflow in swue, the step with status 'ready', cannot be processd.

Hi,
After clearing the buffers are you trying to execute the same existing workitem? I think it might not work in that case. For this you will have to forward it to an agent and reforward it back to your required person. This should solve the problem.
Or else try to create a new workitem and check whether you have the same problem.

Dynamic user decision outcomes

Dear Experts,
We need to offer a different choice of user decisions according to the actual agent who is processing the decision step. (SAP release ECC 6.0)
i.e., if the agent is a manager, they get 4 options - "approve/reject/view/leave in inbox" - if the agent is an administrator they get 3 options - "forward to manager/view/leave in inbox".
The workflow would be much simpler if this can be achieved using a single user decision.
Is it possible to activate/deactivate the user decision outcomes dynamically like this? (perhaps by defining a method to run before work item execution in the Methods tab of the user decision?)

create like this

ok now you got it, or else
create two UDs if you feel free to create it like this,
check the user manager/admin
and then put the condition if manager then send seperate UD
if Admin then send seperate UD.

User Decision & Form

With a requirement, it is required to display a lot of information in the 'User Decision' ( in the area of Task Description). This means, this description will have to be displayed to help the user know the information about the document which he will require to approve.
As there are huge amount of information to be displayed in here - so I may not be able to use the task description (may be messy, and if a new field is to be added they might have to change the task description).
Question is? How to design a program & its module pool screen to be added to user decision in order to show the screen in the 'User Decision' description. I know by using the function module I will be able to show the logo's. (I see a program & screen option in the same tab).
If there are some examples - please share them too. Thanks

There are different ways you can accomplish this. One way is to create a task that displays the data you want first (for example a task to call MB01). Insert this task before the user decision task. If both tasks have the same agent, the second task will immediately be displayed if the previous task has the "confirm end of processing" flag set.

Workflows : Objects & Attachments @ User Decision Step ?

As Ramki said,I was able to create a link in the OBJECTS and ATTACHMENTS part for a normal Activity step.
But now my requirement is to create a Link at Objects and Attachments part in USER DECISION Step. Can I do so?
I tried copying the DECISION BO to ZDECISION and copied the the standard Decision task TS00008267 to my task say..TS97900168 with my BO ZDECISION, Now when I tried to include this task in the WF User Decision step, I am getting an error that I cannot include any other object other than DECISION BO.
I thought of creating a ZDECISION Business Object and change the Default method of this BO. But I am not able to include a Z Business Object in the USER DECISION Step itself.
Is there any way of instantiating the Objects and Attachments part with our own Attachment of the USER DECISION Step.

I am not sure I understand your requirement correctly. But an agent can attach objects or documents at a decision step by clicking on the Create button in the Decision step display.

You can copy the standard decision task and define container elements for the BO references already available in the WF container. Bind them from WF to the step. These objects will then show up under Objects and attachments in the decision step.
You can use the 'Create object reference' wizard to create an object reference if it is not already available.

Container Operation step in User Decision

Hi,
I have used one set container operation step in one of the user decision task. But it seems it is not working inside the user decision step.
I have checked the SWI1 log as well, but it is bypassing it.(screen shot attached from Workflow and SWI1).
Please sugegst that can we use container operation step inside the user decision task.

Hi,
check if in the workflow definition you mention if this step should be shown in the log or not. Also make sure using the technical details option in the workflow log that indeed the container operation was executed or not.
If everything seems correct, but still in execution it skips something, then your workflow definition might be corrupt, either fix it by deleting the step in development, saving it and then recreating it. Or if it was corrupted after transport you could try your luck with function module SWD_REPLICATE_FROM_9999.
