AIR 2 Linux .rpm - breaks with updated software builds

Hello Everyone,
We are bundling the AIR 2 .rpm installer in our software builds for use on RedHat 5.x using the following code:

Problem:
On a fresh install, everything comes up roses.
The problem occurs on subsequent installs of software builds. When I install an updated software build (that includes the above code), AIR does not install "failed due to bad configuration"and the AIR file is unavailable and grayed out in the software (though it works fine on fresh installs).
Fix Attempts:
When I deleted the AIR file from the previous build and tried to install a build it did not work, "failed consult log".
When I deleted the AIR installer via Package Manager then installed a subsequent build, the AIR file installed and was accessible from the software. But it deleted exisiting AIR files on my desktop that were not affiliated with the software build.
Questions:
What can I do to get AIR files from subsequent builds (that include the above code for the AIR 2 .rpm) to work in the software?
If the AIR installer needs to be removed prior to a subsequent installation, how can I remove the installer while protecting local AIR files that are not affiliated with the software.

Yes, I would like to update the AIR application without prior having to remove the installer. Though the content of the help.air is modified, the name and certificate remain the same.
In our sw builds, if the AIR installer was not removed prior to the new build installation the following error would occur:

When I delete the AIR installer prior to a build installation, I am able to successfully install the installer and application:

Torch 9800 Issues with updating software

Hi there I'm new to this forum and to BB.
I have been having issues with my Torch for a couple of weeks now, firstly I had issues with it when it was charging the red light and not coming on, but managed to get it to work after a bit of searching on here.
This happened regularly over the past week, then today I have the Error 507 message.
I have used Desktop Manager v5.0.1 to try and update it but I didn't have the password for the phone and after 10 attempts it wiped the phone which I wasn't really bothered about.
I am now trying to update the software but when I get to the Device Application Selection page it says that I have don't have any space left.
Is there any way around this so that I can update the phone's software?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Issues with updating software

I have (2) 9810 Torch's about 18 months old. Mine works and updates fine with no problems. My wife's phone however will not update using the desk top software and sometimes will display an error msg concerning an app failure. I've tried numerous times to update but the desktop updater always freezes during the "back up" portion of the update.
Any ideas out there??

Try doing a selective backup and skip the database that is causing the freeze. Then when you do the loader process don't make an automatic backup. When the update completes, you can simply manually restore the selective backup that you made.

TS1702 Garage Band App is in "waiting" stage. Will not download onto iPhone 4 with updated software (5.1.1) using iTunes with most recent update.

A friend gifted me the garage band application for my iPhone 4. I have updated the phones software (5.1.1) as well as the software for iTunes. However thee app has been stuck on "waiting" for days now.

I found that RPM database in Red Hat Linux is based on Berkeley DB. I found this document for Java and Berkeley DB:

As far as I know what is in the RPM distribution is what we call BDB core which is the C edition. Within the BDB family of products there is the C version, a java version and an XML version. Internally code is shared between the products of the family and we internally take care of compatibility. The C version of BDB (shipped in Linux) has several different APIs that can be used, namely, C, Java, C#, C++, python, perl. The document that you referring to is the JAVA API doc for BDB core. When folks typically say Java edition, then are referring to the java version which we call BDB JE. This is a separate product.

If your router is not identified in a national database (don't recall who maintains it or where it is) then there is no location associated with it. Hence your device cannot be located. I suggest you try your test at some public wifi spot, like a bookstore or coffee shop. These places usually have a location associated with their wifi router.

HELP with Updating Software (1st Gen)

I have a 1st generation iPod touch. I want to upgrade to the 3.X software (because I know I'm not eligible for the iOS 4) but when I do, iTunes gives me a message saying "This version of iTunes (2.2.1) is the current version." and I know it's not. Please help.

Anyway, my brother's 1st gen touch is doing precisely the same thing. And although I haven't spoken to Apple, I believe a restore should move things along. Did you try a this (a restore), and if so what was the result?

You will not lose any data resetting your phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again. But it can clear some glitches after installing ne apps or updating the iOS.

IPad has update software but will not work with iMac with updated software

I have the iPad running the 5.1.1 and when the iPad is plugged into the wife's new iMac running iTunes 10.6 I get a message

I check the iTunes and it's at 10.6, and iTunes will not even recognize the iPad under devices.

Shouldn't be this hard.

Locate the iTunes app in Applications folder, highlight it and type Command I (I as in Ivan) and look to see what version is installed. If it's still 10.4 then navigate to
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1426?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Then download and install following the on-screen directions. Once it installed it wouldn't hurt to restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches, it's possible one or more is corrupt.
