Airport Card Software download site? I have no instillation CD!?

Hi everyone
I have just bought an airport card and fitted it (correctly I hope!) Into my clamshell ibook (9.2.2) and it doesn't recognise that I have done anything. I think it has to come with a CD but I bought it 2nd hand and the card didn't come with one, is there any website that I can download the software from and can I just plug my laptop into my computer and be on the internet to download it? Hope you follow! Please help! And if you don't understand post here.
Thanks

Typically the software is already installed, but you can download the software from KB 120120, AirPort 2.0.4 for Mac OS 9: Information and Download.

  • Airport card software

I have a G3 PB "Lombard" 400MHz USB (No FW)OS 9.2.2 and I'm wondering if there is a later version of Apple's DVD Player v1.3. I searched all of Apples site but I was unable to find any such beast. I also went thru the Airport Card hassle of trying a card that would work but no luck. I read on the forum that a Belkin F5D7010 would work if you got ahold of versions 1.xxx, 2.xxx.or 4.xxx. I was told by Circuit City and Best Buy that they are discontinued cards and they both have v 5.xxx & 6.xxx but I bought on and it didn't work either. What I'm wondering is do any of you know that if I install Airport v2.0.5 that I would have any luck getting this thing to go wireless? If not I guess I'm just going to have to give up and go via USB WiFi or update to OS X unless I get some information here that I can use.
    Thanks,

  • IMac 17" G4 (Flat Panel) - Which Airport Card

I have an iMac 17" G4 Flat Panel computer. The processor is 1.0 Ghz. I looked up on Apple's site which card it takes. This link is a bit confusing. It says the iMac G4 17" Flat Panel uses an original AirPort card, but then the next line says iMac 17" 1 Ghz uses an AirPort Extreme Card.
    Here is the link...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86258
    Anyone know for sure?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
If your processor speed is ≥1GHz then you have the correct card (Airport Extreme). If your iMac is ≤800MHz then you need the original Airport card.
Make sure you have the card inserted fully in to the slot.
let us know how you get on.

  • AIrport express not reading my airport card suddenly..

After a short period I managed to get my airport express to work thru my laptop. Then it was on to my PC for about 5 hours. That didn't work at all and in the process now I can no longer use express on my laptop. I tried hard resetting and reinstalling the software.
This message keeps coming up when I tried to go thru the setup:
There was an error communicating with your AirPort card. Please make sure it is installed properly and try the AirPort Setup Assistant again.
My DHCP is on and working fine.. I'm quite confused. Please help thanks

Hi silatix and welcome to Discussions,
You might have to do a Hard Reset:

  • What is good greeting card software for my mac mini with Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.1?  I want a wide range of existing templates such as Hallmark and Printshop offer, but can't find for this version OS X.

For my Mac mini with Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.1, what is a good greeting card software download with lots of templates and graphics?

    Hi simon2010,
as far as I can see, I have resolved it...
Just so I didn't write over my functioning disk in the Mac mini, I took it out and put a spare one in.  (Would have saved me going back to the Apple store to get it re-imaged if it did fail.)
I created a Mountain Lion installer on an 8GB USB stick, and first installed 10.8.4 (the latest at the current time) on my MacBook Pro... it worked fine, so I knew the installer stick had no problems at all (that's one thing to rule out of the list of potential causes).
With my spare hard disk in the Mac mini, I then went to try to install 10.8.4 on it, with my 16GB non-Apple RAM in it.  It failed as usual in the way I expressed originally.
I then just swapped my 16GB RAM for the original Apple 4GB RAM (2x2GB sticks) which I put back in the machine, and I tried re-installing.  No problem whatsoever - it installed perfectly.
It's the RAM!  Even though my RAM works perfectly once installed, the Apple OS installer refuses to proceed if Apple RAM is not in.  I put my 16GB RAM back in after installing the OS and all is fine.
I'm quite surprised Apple has done this.
Have you changed the RAM?  Let me know if it's the same problem or you have some differences.
I assume it will install fine if I put the orignal HD back in, again if I have the original Apple RAM in of course.
PS.  Also to note, the point where it failed in the installer with my 16GB RAM in, with the original Apple RAM in it took an incredibly long time towards the end of the bar moving across the screen; it says "5 minutes remaining" for at least 15, maybe 20 minutes, but gets past it eventually, then does a reboot to continue its install.

  • Airport Card and Pismo

    Hello!
Picked up a used Pismo in great shape. I have a spare working Airport card and installed it. It did not work. So I erased the drive that had 10.2.3 and installed 10.4 with all updates to 10.4.8. Still does not work. I took the PowerBook apart and examined the card dock pins, cable and mobo connection. Physically they all look fine.
I am pretty avid and mac hardware repair. I have a couple Pismo motherboards and stuff in storage. Before I go taking all this apart again and swapping stuff out, could I be doing something wrong here?
I see only two sources of potential fault. The motherboard or the card. Any experts hear of Pismos having Airport issues? (all other buses are fine, firewire, UBS, etc) Any report of Airport cards dying? (I dont have another spare to test)
    Thanks!

    marco,
Did you select AirPort in System Prefs > Network > Network Port Configurations?
If you have the Hardware Test CD that came with Pismos or have another Mac that can burn the AHT, download it here and see what it says about AirPort.

  • Which Airport Card For eMac USB2.0

    Hi All
I am just about to purchase a eMac USB2.0 and I am very confused about which type of Airport Card to install. I have read in some places that it takes the original Airport Card and then on this Apple site it says that this model is Airport Extreme ready.
    Which one do I need?
    Many thanks
    GArry

Every reference I have says its the extreme version.
However, before you buy, find out if the serial number of that eMac falls in the ranges noted in this Apple article:
    http://www.apple.com/sg/support/emac/repairextensionprogram/
A significant number of machines within these ranges suffer from a logic board problem that is impractically expensive to fix unless you have little or no money in the computer. The Apple program that fixed this at no charge expired last summer, so you would be on your own for the significant cost of repair.
The issue affected USB 2.0 eMacs with 1.0 and 1.25 G processors. I've never heard it affecting the later 1.42gHz machines. Hopefully you are looking at a 1.42 eMac, as they are fine machines with "new-enough" video chipsets to support Core Image technology used by OS 10.4 and later.

  • G4 iBook 1.33 (mid-2005) airport card install instructions?

I asked this question in an earlier post but the title was misleading, I think.
I need to reseat my Airport Express card and I don't know where it is or how to do it. Please point me to the appropriate URL that has diagrams.
I've searched and searched and can't find it.
    ibook g4 1.33 12"   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

In case you haven't already found out, the 1.33 (mid-2005 model) iBook is the only model without user-access to the airport card. In order to have it re-seated or replaced, you have to take it to an Apple Tech.

  • Wi-Fi gone: "No Airport Card Installed."

Last night I watched Netflix just fine,  put my laptop to bed and this morning, no wif-fi connection!!. Blank airport icon reading "No Airport Card Installed."
Recently installed new battery, not that that probably matters. Do you think my Airport Card died overnight? I have tried restarting twice and nothing. Other devices can connect to the wi-fi just fine. Any suggestions? Looks like this, below.... thank you tech-heads for any help you can give me. Staying tethered to the modem is a drag... especially since  I just forked over $130 for a new battery! I have a MBp-17 with OS 10.5.8, Mahalo from Kona Hawaii.

Unfortunately this probably means that your MacBook's AirPort card has died. Last desperate effort at reviving it, try resetting the PRAM on the MacBook and if that does not change anything reset the System Management Controller.
If none of those work, carry it in for service or call Apple at the appropriate phone number on this page to have them set up service.
    Best of luck.

  • "No AirPort Card Installed" error message

    Please help--
    I have a PowerBook G4 12", recently refurbished, running Mac OX X 10.5.8, 1.33 GHz, PowerPC G3, 1.25 GB memory.
It works great. But this evening, my daughter dropped it onto a hardwood floor. At first, I thought everything was fine.
But now, I get a message, "No AirPort Card Installed" message when I try to turn AirPort on.
I'm typing on it now, so I'm able to go online using an ethernet cable, but I need AirPort connectivity.
I've been religious about backing up on Time Capsule. Would it help to go into my Time Capsule to bring back an old AirPort setting? Should I remove, then reinstall the old AirPort card? Or will I have to buy a new AirPort card? And do they still sell those for Macs this old?
Any info you have would be helpful, thanks.

Yes, you should remove and reseat the Airport Extreme card. It may just have been jostled in its slot and not be making good contact now.

  • Did Airport Card kill the Logic Board?

First, let me tell you that I am writing on my 12 yo son's behalf... after saving for two years he bought an iMac G4 15" flat screen in December 03. This year we gave him an airport card so he could finally have internet access. Three weeks later the logic board is fried.
When I spoke with Mac they had no record of that being a problem with this machine - and why would they since they refused to record my complaint?
Has anyone else heard of this problem?
    Thank you.
    Jess
iMac G4 (purchased 12/03) Mac OS X (10.4.1) I'm guess at the version of OS X he was using.
    iMac G4 (purchased 12/03)   Mac OS X (10.4.1)

bensapple, Welcome to the discussion area!
Is this a 700 MHz or 800 MHz 15" iMac G4? If so, the AirPort card shouldn't have caused any problem.
If this is a 1 GHz 15" iMac G4, then it requires the AirPort Extreme card, not the original AirPort card. If you installed an original AirPort card in this iMac, then the motherboard could have been damaged. Installing the AirPort Extreme card would not have caused a problem.
But if the card worked for 3 weeks, you had the correct card and it probably did not cause the motherboard to fail.
Hopefully you purchased AppleCare for this iMac...

  • Adding airport card?

I ordered my Mac G5 without an airport card (dumb!) and now have wireless U-verse service, plus just bought a MacBook Pro, a wireless capable all-in-one printer, and have a Mac airport base station. I can use the MacBook with the U-verse router, but of course, can't use the G5 with it. I'd like to add that capability and don't know where to start. Any suggestions?

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
The G5 is compatible with the Apple Airport Extreme card.
If the G5 is a Late 2005 model, then it takes a special card.
All other G5's use this one:

  • Software Download for Airport Express/Airtunes?

Hey all. I decided to hook my Sony speaker system up to my amplifier and hook back up my Airport Express. So I know I need to add the Airtunes software to my Macbook (iTunes) to be able to run it. Unfortunately I no longer can find the CD that Airport Express came with. How am I able to get the software now? I have searched alot of sites online and can't sem to find a download anywhere. Can someone help me out and point me to where I can get it. Thanks so much!!
    Jason

    Hi Duane
I'm still having trouble. I did as you said. I have connected the Airport Express to my Sony amplifier and have plugged it in. Amber flashed for a minute or two and now it is solid green. I went to the Airport Admin Utility as it suggests in the help URL you posted. However no base station appears when it scans. It is not seeing it or some reason. Did I miss something? Is there a setting on my Macbook that needs to be adjusted?I havent used the Airport Express in a couple years. I did reset it with a paper clip as another help area suggested and then trued to rescan it but still doesnt show up as a base station. I am using it in conjunction with the existing wireless network in my house and my Macbook that I purchased the end of last year. I have no prob connecting to internet on my Macbook. Please help!
    Thanks

  • Is there anywhere to download original Airport Extreme software?

I need to download both Windows and Mac versions of the software that was on the (since lost) original CD-ROM that accompanied my Airport Express.
I have perused this forum, but haven't seen a definitive answer yet - and I can't seem to find anything on Apple.com downloads for AE except for updates (requiring the original software be installed).
The has nothing to do with the "n" enabler .. just simply need to reinstall this software to use an AE that I had misplaced for about 1.5 years.
    Thanks!

Although it says it is an update I'm pretty sure it will install what you need without being there before. It may require you have an Airport card installed.
