Airport issues not addressed here

Hey. Not only is my airport not working (even after updates), but my computer doesn't even recognise the airport! I don't have it available when trying to set up my preferances. Apple care was nice, but they said the only thing I could do would be to take it to an ASC (service centre) to get it replaced. Any ideas here on how to fix it without having to lose my computer for a couple of days?

I'm having this issue for a client of mine also. Just received a new Intel Mac Mini and had several problems with the Airport network dropping off. Upgrading to 10.4.6 helped that problem, but the the network still drops off if the computer sleeps or even if the display goes to screensaver and you it set to relog to get back into the computer.
Something is causing the system to drop the network connection and Apple needs to address this. Wireless networking is great when it works, but when it backfires like this, it makes people in business very jittery and much less likely to continue to adopt this technology.

I have installed the agent 10 or 15 times and one installation has failed, no error appeared during the installation but I am having inconsistent issues with my ethernet card not working here and there. We rebooted and can log into Novell client but the login prompt did not appear for ESM client or the icon was not in the systray. Everything seems to work, besides at times (a couple times today) it terminates his ethernet card/connection. I would re-image his computer but he has several applications and it would take several hours, so I am hoping someone has an idea to fix this issue. So I was trying to figure out why he did not get the prompt to login and why it's not in the systray and it appears to not have completed the install? I checked the add/remove programs, its not listed within their, I also checked the registry and found nothing for endpoint within their, but the files are within c:\program files\novell\zenworks endpoint security.
I have also tried uninstalling it but that fails due to it "not being installed", and it will not reinstall over itself either.
I did notice that stuninstdrv.exe is running in task manager. Any help would be great...

If you are searching the registry, check for the "Senforce" string. It should be at HKLM\Software\Senforce
Try running the install program for the ZSC with the following command line:
setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1"
If you've specified an uninstall password, try this one instead:
setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1 STUIP=password"" (please note the double quote at the end)

1. When I move the "sound on/off" button, I get it buzzing 10 times before the setting is changed and I can do anything else, just not reacting to the round button on screen touches.
2. Impossible to copy text from most websites into notes.
3. Impossible to delete an email account in settings.
4. Uses up the battery twice as fast as before. I have "update apps" setting turned off, just reading a couple of mails, making a couple of photos and open maps apps twice a day, and the battery is dead well before the evening.
5. Got extremely slow, and it was getting slower and slower with every system update.
I'm sure I forgot something... But well, that already a lot.

Well, actually number 3 in my list is not true any more, I just tried to delete my account 15 times, then I've written my post, then half an hour later my Settings finally updated my accounts list. Whohoo

Unless I am mistaken, iTunes Switzerland is far from Swiss and does not encourage its people to watch films in the local languages of its country (at least French and Italian would be good too...). Can anyone help ? Do I have to move to Geneva to watch a non French film in French or Lugano to watch a non Italian film in Italian or simply buy a DVD to get round it?

I have the same problem. I want to watch any movies in French (in the original, or subtitled and/or dubbed). But I cannot seem to find any on iTunes. Does iTunes offer any content in other countries (I live overseas) in the languages of those countries?

Not issuing IP addresses to all macs???

Hi all,
Please help, our OSX server has stopped issuing IP addresses via DHCP to some of our macs. We have about 15 macs in the company and about 7 of them are not getting an IP address. If I put a manual IP address in I can get access to the server but no access to internet. All the other macs seem fine.
Can somebody shed any light on this as it's driving me mad!
I have never used OSX server before so I don't know much about it - sorry.

I am definately not an expert either but I had a similar problem... I have two ethernet ports on my xserve and I discovered I had indicated to the Server Admin / DCHP settings to use the wrong ethernet port to handle the distribution of IP addresses. Once I switched that the previously "lost" macs found addresses immediately.

Internet connection is established but my airport express reports "AirPort does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the Internet." although status is ON and the correct wifi address appears.
My iPhone also identifies the correct network but cannot connect

I don't have any phones, so not aware of the options, but on a Mac to fix this problem it'd likely be...
Instead of joining it from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed. Before I went through network diagnostics and all of that stuff in system preferences, and then I tried the "Join Other Network" method, and now it works like a dream.

Go to System Preferences
Click Network
Highlight AirPort and click Configure...
Choose “By default, join: Preferred networks”
Select your access point and Remove your access point with the minus button.
Launch your keychain access in Utilities and delete your access point keychain entry.
Reboot

Airport does not have IP address and Self assigned IP address

Using a 2.66GHz Mac Pro with OS X.6.6 and a Netgear DNG200 wireless and installed Airport Extreme Card and WPA2 security.
In Network click on Airport and 'Turn on Airport' Up comes the message 'Airport dos not have IP address and is unable to connect to the internet'.
Go into advanced and double click 'Network Name'. Supply password even though remember is selected, and message changes to "Airport has Self Assigned IP address 169.254.etc.etc and will not be able to connect to the internet'.
After repeated back to Network Name and double clicking and supplying password eventually connects. Simple to reconnect by selecting Turn Airport On in Menu Bar so long as the machine is not turned off.
Any suggestions please?

AirPort Utility in Mountain Lion will not support the older versions of the AirPort Express.....model numbers A1084 and A1088. Check on the side of the Express for the model number.
In addition, AirPort Utility in Mountain Lion will not support the older "round" or "dome" shaped versions of the AirPort Extreme.
Can you check to see how your devices might be affected?

I am assuming that your HP C-4385 AiO printer has wireless capability built-in and your goal is to connect it to the wireless network provided by the AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) ... correct?
If so, when you are configuring the HP for wireless, does the AXn's wireless network appear in the printer's setup window?

What OS are you running.. this is usually only a problem in Mavericks.
If so I recommend you mount the hard disk manually..
Use Go, Connect to server.
Type in the IP address if static.. eg
AFP://10.0.1.1
Or the name.. but you will have issues unless the name is short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.. if you are using bad names.. fix it by a full factory reset in airport utility and give it all names that comply to the above.
Type in
AFP://TCname.local Where TCname is replaced with the actual name.
You will be asked for the password the first time which is public unless you changed it.. please remember to save this in the keychain.
Copy files then to a new directory you create on the TC.. do not place files inside the TM sparsebundle. Nor directly under the main directory.

MBP Santa Rosa Airport Issues w/ Leopard

Hi everyone,
I've noticed a few "quirks" since upgrading to Leopard. Whenever my Macbook Pro (Santa Rosa, 2.4 GHz, 17", 4GB RAM) is searching for a wireless network to join, the system becomes completely unresponsive. The mouse pointer stutters and jumps around the screen and it's impossible to precisely control its movement. When I can finally manage to click on the Airport icon in the menu bar and select the appropriate network to join, the problems stop as soon as a connection to a wireless network is established. It only happens when the system is searching for a Network. I should mention that it does this when I am at work (where I connect via 802.1x and TTLS) and at home (where I connect via an Airport Express Router).
Also, my computer no longer automatically connects to my work network (it does at home, though) after a restart or waking from sleep). I have my MBP set to prompt me for a password when it wakes from sleep, but it's near next to impossible to enter in the password because the system hangs so badly as it tries to establish a network connection. Of course, it doesn't connect unless I manage to click the Airport icon and specify the network I wish to join. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
All of this is a little frustrating since the latest updates to Airport in Tiger fixed all of the connection issues I had had previously with my MBP. When I first bought the machine I had many issues with network connections (as did many thousands of others who bought this model). I was wondering if other MBP Santa Rosa owners have observed similar behavior since upgrading to Leopard, and if so, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this issue?
I should also mention that my Mac Mini C2D 1.83GHz (latest model) has no such issues so I think this is something that is still linked to this particular model of MBP.

I am moving this over here, from the boot camp section. Hopefully this is more the location that this needs to be in. Well, my problem is not as extreme as some, but still an annoyance. I installed Leopard the first day, and immediately had HUGE airport issues. The computer would lose my hub. I run an Airport Extreme with an Express as a WDS. The computer would see the express, but lose the extreme completely. So no internet. If I messed with it long enough, I could get the computer to recognize the extreme, but as soon as the computer went to sleep, it would lose it again. I installed the keychain update, and the situation didn't get much better. Most of the time I get the "You are not connected to the Internet" error in Safari, and when I run network diagnostics the computer "finds" the internet again, and I get a "Network configuration change detected" message and all my lights go green.
After I installed the Keychain update, I repaired disk permissions. Any ideas?

AirPort Express ip address acts "busy" when printing

I am no longer able to print through my AirPort Express USB port after up-dating my OS X to 10.4.2 and my AirPort Express to V6.2.
Whenever I send a Print command to Office-AirPort, it seems to process and send, but I keep getting the message,
Network host 192.168.0.100 busy; will retry in xx seconds
Ive got a D-Link DI-784 802.11a/g router running DHCP @ 192.168.0.1 and two AirPort Expresses, one is my print server named Office-AirPort, at 192.168.0.100 (connected via USB/parallel to my HP LaserJet 4M printer) and the other is named Living-Room at 192.168.0.101 (used to stream iTunes to my stereo).
I am using HP LaserJet 4M Foomatic/hpjis and a USB to parallel cable. Gimp and/or Foomatic printing used to work fine (in combination with Rendezvous I think) to both my large format HP 450C and my LaserJet 4M prior to yesterdays software upgrades.
Now, it does not seem to matter how I add the printer via the Advanced dialogue (via option-clicking on More Printers button), i.e.- AppSocket/HP JetDirect vs. IPP vs. Bonjour registered printer
The queue name seems to have a mind of its own in the non-advanced dialoguealways pulling the name from the Name: field and adding underscores no matter what I enter in the Queue: edit field.
Ive double checked the device name registered in my router and it looks ok, Office-AirPort, but are there official queue names and device names I should be using in the non-advanced and/or advanced dialogue boxes? Where do I find these official names?
If I remember correctly, I think my printers use to show up as Rendezvous options, but I have no idea how the new corresponding Bonjour registered printer settings work (?, mdns://192.168.0.100 still acts busy)
Why doesnt Bonjour help me out?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Option+Clicking on the "plus" sign to add a printer in the "Print & Fax" system preferences dialogue box deletes all existing queues and jobs and resets the printing system.
I must have done this 20 times to no avail.
I have also added various printers and sent prints to my other ("Living-Room") AirPort Express at 192.168.0.101 (w/ no printer attached) and get the same "busy" error.
I have changed the AE's ip address to other static addresses but this also, does not work.
I have "restarted", unplugged and "hard" reseted multiple times, again....same error.
Is this a CUPS issue?
How/why must both the hpjis and ESP Gostscript drivers be installed? I downloaded and "installed" both but I've only been "adding" the HP LaserJet 4M Foomatic/hpjis driver. I see that there is a list of other ESP drivers including what looks like a generic HP LaserJet that I have tried, but It does not seem to make any difference. I do not see a "Gostscript" whatchamadinger anywhere and cannot seem to figure out how/why this (postscript?)component is necessary.
A brief look at other posts seems to indicate other various 10.4.2 plus AirPort V6.2 problems....am I wrong?
Are there some Unix tweaks/commands I can use to see what "traffic" is "occupying" my AirPort's ip address or why it is "busy" or change its pseudo-busy status?

To buy in for delivery in Qatar, you should be starting from the Apple Qatar site:

Do you have an Apple-ID? if you do, then you should not have to enter your Address again, and may be able to sidestep the US Zip Code issue.
