Ajax causes full cycle on every event

I'm using the MyFaces JSF 2 implementation with ajax support.
Essentially I have a large table. When I select one of the rows I want to render it on the page using ajax. I don't want to retrieve the entire
page and render it. The rendering part is fine because the entire page is not being re-rendered. However, the method that
retrieves the data from the database always gets called by the server. It seems that JSF is still generating the entire page in the backend but only returning the related components.
The method getStorse() is always invoked when ajax is doing it's thing. However, the page is not re-rendered. I know because I've changed it to return a different size on each invocation for testing.
<h:form>
<h:dataTable id="data" border="1" var="store"
                              value="#{storeController.stores}"
     <f:facet name="header">
          <h:outputText value="Id"></h:outputText>
     </f:facet>
<h:outputText value="#{storeController.id}"/>
</h:dataTable>
</h:form>
<!-- Simple ajax test -->
<h:form>
     <h:inputText value="#{storeController.text}">
          <f:ajax event="keyup" execute="@this" render="time"></f:ajax>
     </h:inputText>
</h:form>
<h:outputText id="time" value="#{storeController.text}"></h:outputText>
Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Full Garabage Collection every minute in oc4j_soa instance

    It looks like a Full GC cycle is run exactly every minute on a IDLE BPEL instance that does not have any instances. This is a basic 10.1.3.1.0 BPEL install with no Out of the box parameters modified / tuned. Is this a known issue / bug with a fix ?
    Also, we have 3 - 5 Asnyc BPEL Processes that involve human workflow. The invocation rate of these workflows is medium (100 instances per hour),but the instances may last long due to human workflow. What would be the recommended settings for these in terms of worker, invoker and dispatcher threads, DB Connections etc? Is there any tuning guide/ spreadsheet available for computation of optimum values ?

    Thanks for the replies. Let me clarify a few things:
    1) We've tried setting -Xms to -Xmx (a long time ago, so maybe it's time to revisit), but doing so caused our app to exhibit other strange behavior due to the fact that no full GCs were ever done until all the allocated memory was exhausted. These full GCs, when finally triggered, ended up taking quite some time due to the fact that there was a lot of compaction (or attempted compaction) going on.
    2) I don't have a problem with doing full GCs (I use the term full GC because both a young and old generation GC happens at every full GC), but I have a problem with the full GCs happening every 2 or 3 seconds and taking up 100% cpu for minutes (because the concurrent phases would run back-to-back for every full GC). Especially when the app has 1/10th the volume of our other app which does a young gc every 20s or so and a full gc every 5 or 6 minutes.
    We've gone ahead and set the initial heap size to -Xms5g for today's run. We initially went without setting -Xms (again, just like our other instance) and we started seeing full GCs almost immediately as the JVM did not want to allocate more heap. We then went with -Xms2g which delayed the full GCs for a few hours until the used heap got close to the allocated heap. Full GCs then kicked in for cycles (15 or 30 mins long) until the JVM increased the heap by a few hundred mb each time.
    As I've stated, I'm struggling with the fact that we have another instance of the application that does not exhibit this behavior and does not have -Xms set at all. And the only thing I know that is different is that during startup, the amount of data we load is quite large (~6-8gb) and so our "min size" is already pretty large before starting to handle additional volume. Hopefully setting -Xms to 5g will replicate the starting point of the original instance.
    I'll respond back with updates.
    Thx,
    Josh

  • Question about full cycle charges and battery life

    So I've had the new iPad since day 1 and absolutely love it, though recently I've noticed that my battery life doesn't seem to hold up as well as it has in the past. I've done three full cycle charges since getting it however during my latest one I accidently brought along my iPod wall charger and not the one that comes with the iPad. My iPad was fully discharged and I plugged it in assuming that in the 7 hour window I had that it would be fully charged within 5 hours, but this was not the case due to me having the wrong charger. After about 7 hrs of charging it was only at around 60-70% so I had to unplug it, bring it home, then plug it in once more using the correct charger. Probably a fairly obvious question but does this not count as a full cycle charge because I unplugged it? Should I perform another full cycle charge even though this most recent one was not even a week ago. I know you're supposed to completely discharge your battery as few times as possible so it worries me having to do it again so soon.
    About battery life, I've noticed lately that my iPad battery seems to be depleting quicker than normal, and was hoping that perhaps this was caused by being overdue for a full-cycle charge which I may have flubbed as seen above. I'm aware of a majority of the little tips and tricks to prolong battery life however I'm not so knowledgeable on the "do's and don'ts" of charging the actual iPad so any information on that would be helpful. I should also note that unfortunately I accidently left by iPad in a hot car for a little over an hour and was tremendously devastated knowing what this can do to the battery, so could this be the main cause for a seemingly weaker battery?
    Thanks for any feedback!

    The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
    Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

    At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Here is the KB link:  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa363648(v=vs.85).aspx
    May i know what is the reason cause security event discarded ?
    Does the retention setting at Registry still working at windows 2008?
    Thanks very mush.

  • Full GC Occuring every 1 minute

    Hi there,
    My Weblogic 5.1 (service pack 10) seems to be running a full gc every 1 minute even though I have plenty of memory and there is not much traffic on my web site.
    The full gc is causing me ~9 seconds of pause time every minute for the ~300M of memory that I have used up on a maximum of 768M for the JVM.
    If you know of a way to disable this feature, please kindly let me know!

    Maybe WL (could BEA engineers confirm?) explicitly calls a garbage collection

    standard
    or supported) option to Sun's JVM which is -XX:+DisableExplicitGC which
    will ignore
    explicit calls to do a GC. It might be worth trying this to see if it

    does a full GC when it has to.

  • FI full cycle implementation question

    Hello All
    Can someone give me their insight on a full cycle implementation in FI module or production support. I would like to know what are the typical tasks, project cycle, etc involved in it. I am preparing for interview and this will be my first project. I wanted to know what really happens in a project. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    Below steps are the the highlevel plan for the BW implementation
    1. AS IS process - Study of the existing process.
    2. To be process mapping - What will be the new process.
    3. customizaiton in SAP & query development - Customizing the cubes and ODS
    4. Unit testing - Testing of each and every module and reports
    5. Full testing - Full system testing. In this step all steps are integrated so, it is also known as Integration testing.
    6. End-user training - Training for the Power user (first line users) by the SAP Consultants. They will in turn train to other users.
    7. Go-live
    8. Support for initial month-ends. -
    9. Post implementation support....
    Hope this helps..

  • ICal: Instead of colored dots, can every event's headline be displayed in color accordingly?

    Before the upgrade, every events is displayed in colour accordingly, with All-Day-Event highlighted.
    After the upgrade, only the "All-day event" is highlighed in clour. But the headline/subject of everything else (from every calendars) is displayed in dark grey with a small colored dots.
    For example, It's too difficult to spot my important work meetings (in blue) from the rest of the non-important personal events (in purple).
    those blue dots looks very close to purple dots. This really is making my calendar looking confusing.

    Mavericks applies color to events only in day and week views. Before events in month view had a color corresponding to the specific calendar it was in (appointments, school, etc). Only all-day events now are highlighted in color. This is a step backward. I hope that Apple updates iCal to bring back the highlighting of all calendar events in all views.

But then when I open up the iPhoto Library from the Hard drive another set of pictures shows up. BUT not ALL of my pictures are showing up on the iPhoto Library from the hard drive. At least the last two years of pictures are not showing up?! Actually, it appears that all the pictures are there from when I started using iPhoto about 5 years ago up until around the time that I got my iMac desktop computer and started using that (2 years ago). I have noticed that more recent videos I have made are showing up in a folder on the hard drive, but will not appear when I open up iMovie?! Any ideas on how to access my pictures from the last 2 years off of the hard drive???

  • How can I get the "Full cycle SAP project experience"?

    Hi,experts
    I'm a beginner of PI and familar with java,now i have got good acquaintence of PI architecture and familiar with ESR and ID in PI,but now i'm confused with the development aspect of PI expert...one thing is that full cycle sap project experience is a must,but how can i get that while i just always repeating the boring creation of PI objects and do the mapping,routing tasks etc...

    Hi Rajesh,
    If you started working with new implementation project then you will get a chnace to involve in all phases like Blue printing,analysys,realization,development testing.
    Creation of obejcts in ESR or ID its not a big deal,but when you are working with complex landscape then you feel to elanr and many newthing in PI how to achieve the requirement using Writing some good UDF and using node function ...Adapter Modules or JAVA Mapping or XSLT Mappings..and many.
    When you get in to SAP PI project,when you started development first you will start analysing the functional document and then you will start preparing techincal specification,then mapping specification then development,testing..these all tasks happend in pahse by phase.after completion of development then you wl tesing the interfaces ,preparing test cases...
    we can say full lide cycle implemenattion prijects invloves above all tasks.

    HI GURUS,
    will anyone mail PO Full Cycle with screen shots? And t-codes
    1. PURCHASING REQUISITION
    2. REQUEST FOR QUOTATION
    3. QUOTATION
    4. PURCHASE ORDER
    5. GOOD'S RECEIPT
    6. INVOICE VERIFICATION
    7. PAYMENT

    The typical procurement cycle for a service or material consists of the following phases:
    1. Determination of Requirements (MD02 / ME51N): - Materials requirements are identified either in the user departments or via materials planning and control. (This can cover both MRP proper and the demand-based approach to inventory control. The regular checking of stock levels of materials defined by master records, use of the order-point method, and forecasting on the basis of past usage are important aspects of the latter.) You can enter purchase requisitions yourself, or they can be generated automatically by the materials planning and control system.
    2. Source Determination: - The Purchasing component helps you identify potential sources of supply based on past orders and existing longer-term purchase agreements. This speeds the process of creating requests for quotation (RFQs), which can be sent to vendors electronically via SAP EDI, if desired.
    3. Vendor Selection and Comparison of Quotations (ME41 / ME47 / ME49): - The system is capable of simulating pricing scenarios, allowing you to compare a number of different quotations. Rejection letters can be sent automatically.
    4. Purchase Order Processing (ME21N): - The Purchasing system adopts information from the requisition and the quotation to help you create a purchase order. As with purchase requisitions, you can generate Pos yourself or have the system generate them automatically. Vendor scheduling agreements and contracts (in the SAP System, types of longer-term purchase agreement) are also supported.
    5. Purchase Order Follow-Up: - The system checks the reminder periods you have specified and - if necessary - automatically prints reminders or expediters at the predefined intervals. It also provides you with an up-to-date status of all purchase requisitions, quotations, and purchase orders.
    6. Goods Receiving and Inventory Management (MIGO): - Goods Receiving personnel can confirm the receipt of goods simply by entering the Po number. By specifying permissible tolerances, buyers can limit over- and under deliveries of ordered goods.
    7. Invoice Verification (MIRO): - The system supports the checking and matching of invoices. The accounts payable clerk is notified of quantity and price variances because the system has access to PO and goods receipt data. This speeds the process of auditing and clearing invoices for payment.
    Rebate Process:
    1. XK02 - Changing a Vendor Master Record (Activate "Subsequent Settlement" and "Sebseq. sett. index" in Purchasing view)
    2. MEB1 - Creating a Rebate Arrangement
    3. ME21N - Creating a Purchase Order
    4. MIGO - Processing the Goods Receipt for the Purchase Order
    5. MIRO - Processing the Incoming Invoice on the Basis of a Purchase Order
    6. MEB4 - Creating an Interim Settlement
    7. MEU2 - Creating a Business Volume Comparison
    8. MEB2 - Creating a Final Settlement

    Centrally Agreed Contracts are created in same transaction ME31K, but here is some difference in maintaining the pricing conditions and partner functions.
    Maintaining Plant Conditions
    1. When maintaining the centrally agreed contract, choose Edit > Plant conditions > Overview.
    2. On the overview screen that then appears, enter the desired plant and choose "Overview" icon Plant prices.
    3. An item overview screen appears, starting from which you can maintain conditions.
    Choose Item > Conditions to access the condition maintenance screen.
    4. Return to the overview and repeat the process for all plants for which you wish to store plant-specific conditions.
    5. Save your input.
    Maintaining Partners
    You can maintain the different partners either in the vendor master record or individually in the contract. If the partners have been maintained in the vendor master, they are suggested in the contract.
    Maintaining partners in a contract
    1. In the contract, choose Header > Partners.
    2. The Data Retention Level: Partners screen appears. Enter the plant and/or vendor sub-range, and choose ENTER. The Maintain Partners screen appears.
    Note
    To see which partners have already been maintained, select the desired item and choose "Display" button Level.
    3. Enter the desired partner and return to the item overview for the contract.
    4. Save your input.
    Maintaining partners in the vendor master
    1. Choose Extras > Different data on the Partner Roles (partner functions) screen in the vendor master record.
    2. On the Create Different Data screen, enter the plant or vendor sub-range and select Partner Roles.
    3. Click "Enter" button. The Change Vendor: Partner Roles screen appears.
    4. Enter the desired partners and click "SAVE" button to save your input.
    Then create Release orders (in ME21N) w.r.t. Centrally Agreed Contrat

  • Perform Full Cycle Count - No Data Found

    I am trying to initialize a full cycle count for all items in a subinventory. I have a recent ABC compile set and a new cycle count setup. A, B, C and D classes are all set to count 1x per year. I have verified that all items from the compile are no in the cycle count. I submitted a "Cycle Count Scheduler" request and ensured that it completed. I then set all the parameters in the "Perform Full Cycle Count" request and set to save to file. After it completes and I view the output, the file says "No data found". My only recourse is to dump all items from Material workbench and use Data Load to enter them in ( a bit tedious for 900+ items). Is there anything I need to be doing different?

    You mention that you have done the ABC setups.
    But in Cycle count setups, have you defined a cycle count schedule?
    And more importantly, in cycle count classes, have you entered the frequency at which each class should be counted?
    Last but not the least, what is the last count date (on the serial and schedule tab)?
    If it is today, you will have to wait till tomorrow.
    Hope this helps,

  • Can someone please tell Apple to create a "dot" for every event in a given day?

    Can someone run this idea up the chain at apple?  It would be nice to see what days are busiest from the monthly view.  I single dot can represent 1 event or 20, but this is not helpfull.  It seems like it would be an easy programming fix to make a "dot" for every event scheduled in a given day, no?  You could press this idea further by making the dot color coordinated to the type of event.
    Or is there a setting that I am missing?
    Thanks,
    Stoutland

    No-one here can - we're not Apple. Try the feedback page.
