Alarms disappeared

My alarms have disappeared in the alarm section under clock, but they are still going off. I can't edit them because I don't see them!
Aby solutions?

Would location setting being different on my iPad from my iPhone & iCal have an effect?

  • Pop Up Alarms Disappear

My ical pop up alarms disappear when I shut down/restart my imac and yet I hadn't dismissed or closed them. Shouldn't they stay on the desktop through a shut down/restart unless and until I close/dismiss them?

No answers. Should I assume from this that this is how ical is supposed to work? i.e. alarms disappear from the desktop on shut down?

  • Alarms disappear on shutdown - can anyone help me?

I like to set up onscreen reminders (iCal alarms) for important events two weeks in advance. But if I shut down or restart during these two weeks, the iCal alarms are lost.
Can I do something to prevent this from happening, or is this a programming oversight?
(This was originally posted on the 22nd, but no takers. Can anyone help me?)
("Turn off alarms when iCal is not open" is NOT checked. I've tried it both was. Doesn't matter. They still disappear. Is this a programming error?)

Sorry I can't help but I have a similar problem.
I like you shut down my computer regularly (due to an unreliable rural power supply). The new alarms do not completely disappear but appear almost off screen. They appear on the left of my desktop will only 20mm of the right side of the window visible. It's like my desktop extends beyond what I can see. I have to "drag and drop" them onto the desk top to view them. Irritating. I have also tried "turn off alarms etc", Drag and drop with different keys suppressed and System preferences for anything that may help. All to no avail.

  • Drop down menu ("Notifications", "Alarm") Disappears!

My z10 has been working beautifully.
Except in the past few days whenever I make the drop down menu active (the one accessible by swiping from the top bezel downward), and try to click "Alarm" or "Notifications", the drop down menu swipes back up and disappears!
In other words it seems like *just* those two buttons (Alarm and Notifications) are disabled, so the effect is the same as if I were to click the black backgroud of the drop down menu or anywhere else but an active button. Pressing the Alarm or Notifications buttons in all kinds of ways has the same effect -- the banner just thinks you want to get out of the menu and disappears.
Any ideas why this is happening? Am I the only one?

  • A bunch of saved alarms disappeared

Had a bunch of saved alarms in the clock app, edited some last night, set 3 for this morning. They all went off, but then all my saved alarms were gone. What happened? iPhone 3GS iOS 5.0.1

Happened again this morning.  Alarm was set for 5:50 am, but I decided that was too early.  So I edited the alarm for 6:30 and then forgot to hit "Save."  When I woke up at 7, I pressed the home button, entered my password and it returned to the alarms page (where I could see the unsaved 6:30 am alarm.)  I set it for 7:15 am and pressed Save.
It went off correctly at 7:15, I silenced it somehow (not snooze) and pressed the top button to turn off the screen.  Then I realized I ought to re-set it to 5:50 so I pressed the home button, entered my password and it took me to the World Clocks screen of the Clock app.  I went to the alarms page and it was blank again.
I'll try to be more mindful of what I did just prior to them disappearing next time they all disappear.  I probably had 9 alarms that I need to recreate.

  • "alarm and event display" crashes my application

    Dear All,
I use the "alarm and event disply.vi" in my DSC application. It works fine: I can acknowledge alarms, events etc. BUT...
When I double click the alarm item (or press Alt-Enter) and watch the alarm properties in the Alarm Properties dialog, I can usually watch the properties for some time, selecting the next or previous alarm item, but most often than not, my application just crashes. I don't get any LabVIEW error dialogs. Only Windows is telling me that the application stopped working and it just closes giving me no explanation. Sometimes I don't even see the Windows message.
I've tried this on two different computers... same boat!
    I'm using:
    - LV2011
    - Windows 7
In my application I create the shared variables programmatically, set alarm thresholds programmatically etc.
    Anybody had the same problem?
    regards
    Witold Nocon

Well…I think I have isolated the problem, and I have recreated it in the Boiler example. Here’s what’s happening:
If you watch the properties of the alarm in the Alarm and Event Display, and if this alarm “disappears” at this time, the application will crash. This will happen for example when this variable is set to AUTO ACK.
You can try setting the R02 pump to zero. This will cause the L01 level  to increase reporting an alarm. Now if you set the flows so that the level start decreasing (I set the outflow to max, and the inflow tozero), and immediately click the HI HI alarm and watch it’s properties, the application will crash at the time when this alarm is cleared due to the decreasing level  (AUTO ACK).
It also seems a “little non-deterministic” but this may be my own impression.
Anybody had a similar problem or is able to recreate it?

  • Alarm viewer

    DSC 8.2
I am trying to create an alarm viewer like the one in Lookout.  I have used the alarm and event display from the DSC module, but every time the alarm goes from false to true the alarm disappears and then appears again.  I am trying to get the alarms to stay until you right click and acknowledge the alarms, if a alarms goes false then it should just change color on the display.  This is incase the problem is intermittent and the user does not see the alarm.  Thanks

You could also set the property of the alarm objects so that the user has to acknowledge it, instead it being done automatically. Check out the attached example where I am setting an alarm on a shared variable. I set the alarming properties of the Shared Variable so that the user has to acknowledge the event before it clears from the list. I hope this helps.

  • How to keep ical alarms displayed after restarting

I notice that my iCal alarms disappear after quitting iCal or restarting my computer. For example "Call Doctor" shows up today at 8 am when I start work. I shut down for a meeting. I restart and the alarm message is gone. The event is still there. But I might forget to call unless I see the alarm again. I remember Microsoft Entourage did this and I found it very helpful. Is there a way to get this same effect with iCal?

Hi,  This is not related to your question about ical alarms, but to a previous post you made when your iweb crashed when saving.  I also had to use time machine to transfer all info to a new computer and I am having the same problem when I try to save.   I did not completely understand your solution because I am not very savvy with computers. I did go in and change all the permissions to read and write, but I still have the problem.  I don't know how to "add my account name to the File Info"-
I just spoke with a supervisor from Apple for two hours and who did not solve the problem.  (He thought he did, but he did not and he has not called me back).
If you could give me an explanation of your solution, it would be very helpful and immensely appreciated.
Thank you for any assistance you can give me regarding this.  I really need my iweb!
    [email protected]
Here is the solution you posted:
I figured it out. It was those permissions. I simply added my account name to the File Info. For some reason the Time Machine restoration did not copy the permission for the package (however the contents had the correct permissions.

  • ICal Alerts Disappear (synching with Google Calendar)

I'm synching three Google Calendars to iCal: two work accounts and a personal account, all running on Google apps. These calendars are all synched to my iPhone as well. I have the default alert setting in iCal set at 10 minutes. The problem is that the alerts don't seem to be synching up to Google calendar.
I noticed that none of my alerts were happening. After being late for a couple meetings as a result of this, I investigated. Here's what I've gathered.
The default alert don't seem to stick.
Additional alerts created in iCal don't stick either.
Alerts created on my iPhone stick and synch up to Google Apps just fine - they show up in the Google Apps web interface as expected. However, these alerts dont' synch down to iCal.
The problem is universal across all three accounts.
Unlike the ongoing "can't delete events via iCal" issue that's well documented (and incredibly still not fixed) there's no mention of an alerts synch issue on the CalDAV known issues page.
I had originally set up the Google accounts to have no default reminders added, so I wouldn't have to deal with the extra email/SMS reminders. I have now added a ten minute reminder to all these accounts as a workaround. Now, when I create events in iCal, the ten minute reminder sticks. I have no real idea how this works, but it's as if when synching, iCal sees that Google Apps has a ten minute reminder as well, and there's no conflict. However, if I change the reminder interval, it just disappears. Also if I add a second reminder, say 40 minutes to remind me to leave to drive somewhere, those simply disappear as well. It seems like the correct behavior would be to pass up whatever reminder is set in iCal to Google Apps - that's not happening.
This is happening in iCal 5.01, running on OS X 10.7.2. Really frustrating - anyone have any ideas on how to fix or further troubleshoot? Thanks!

So I got to researching again today, because the utility of calendars is greatly reduced without functioning reminders.
There's a thread over on Google Groups that started in December about this very issue. There wasn't much helpful info until two days ago when someone posted about types of alerts and support between Google and iCal:
If you set the default reminder in your google calendar preferences, when you add an event in ical, the default reminder shows up.
In google I selected "pop-up" for my default reminder type.
When you look at the type of reminder that is set in ical, if you had selected "pop-up" in google, you'll see ical calls it "message".
I've always preferred to use the "message with sound" option in ical. So I tried changing my default alarm within ical.
The reminder/notification/alarm disappeared when I changed it to "message with sound".
When I added a new reminder that was just a message, it showed up, and didn't instantly dissapear. It also synced with my google calendar as expected.
I can live without the "boink" sound when my alerts pop up on screen, so long as they're popping up and not disappearing. Hope this helps some, at least until it starts working like it used to.
I had looked at the type of messages supported, but assumed that "message with sound" would simpy become "message" which is a "popup" to Google. Seems like that would be a more elegant handling of message incompatibility - "translate" the alert to a similar alert type, instead of just dumping it. Lame.
Anyway - this is good enough. I don't care as much about the sound as simply having reminders again.

  • High Watermark issue with monitoring Service Manager 2012 R2

    Hi,
Our customer has a Service Manager / Operations Manager 2012 R2 environment where SCOM will regularly generate an alarm related to High Watermark monitoring on the Service Manager data warehouse - not every day though. The alarm looks like this:
Value of 3559 is not higher than 3559
This value hasn't changed for weeks.
Having done a lot of searching we have found nothing but reference to the same recurring flow of information where people keep mentioning different values but there is no conclusion of what this might be caused by and how to solve it. The solutions
have become outdated anyway. Here is one example:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/systemcenter/en-US/889af8f3-cdf8-4d88-ae99-5dbe18d529ef/service-manager-2012-data-warehouse-high-watermark-monitor
The Service Manager Database Account in SCOM is our service account that has sysadmin in SQL. Basically, with regards to the security configuration, our customer should be covered.
To my knowledge agent-based and agentless monitoring have both been supported since SCSM 2012 SP1. Also, we have the latest management pack for Service Manager monitoring in SCOM, at the moment this should be
    7.5.3079.0.
As mentioned above the value has not been changing for quite some time and nor has it in the database.
    My questions are the following:
    - Is there anyone that has found a solution in the meantime, especially with regards to R2?
    - What is the purpose of High Watermark monitoring for the data warehouse? Why does this need to be monitored?
    - We would like to understand the nature of this value better. Should it be higher each day compared to the day before?
    - Could it just be overriden in SCOM?
    Many thanks in advance!

Rather unexpectedly, the SCOM alarm disappeared overnight and when checking the workflow in the incident that was generated from the alarm, the incident got a Resolved status right before midnight at 23:59:58. We have a ConfigMgr connector that is scheduled
to run at 23:00 which we had disabled a day ago to check something else. But I don't think it had anything to do with this. As the alarm has disappeared from the SCOM console, we have also checked the registry values. Now, instead of "3559 3559 3559"
it says "3559 3559 3585". We have had the 3559 value since 18th July, and out of a sudden something must have been triggered, causing the value to increase. What was triggered and how, no idea... Not sure either what it means that only one of the
Three numbers have been updated with a new value. When talking about the DW jobs, using the SMlets we can see every day that, MPSync, DWMaintenance and the ETL jobs are working well. What we have had though for a longer time is that the cube processing
tends to have issues once a week, where processing won't finish and the cubes get hanging in a running state. We can fix that manually every time and often we don't even have to touch DWMaintenance or the ETL jobs, we don't need to go beyond manually
working with the cube processing jobs themselves. So it might not have an impact on the ETL jobs themselves. Occasionally we do find ourselves in a situation where we we need to play around in the SQL database and manually set the required value (can't
recall if it's 3, 6 or 7) cause we get an error in the DWMaintenance batch, but even though that's an occasional issue it's not constant and also something we can solve, and furthermore it's another known issue outside of the high watermark issue. So
we are a bit uncertain but can at least see that something works sometimes that sometimes increases the high watermark value :). In our case.

  • Problems with the Acknowledged propertie in the WCS

    Hello,
I have a problem with the ACK propertie in the WCS. I check a logg entrie in the logg with the ACK, in few seconds/minute/hour this alarm disappear, and then if this alarm appear again, this message show the ACK marked.
Should not receive the message again without the ACK marking? what is the problem?
    Thanks in advanced

    Hello,
According also to what is stated in the official guides, this seems to be the expected behavior:
"You can acknowledge the  alarm to prevent it from showing up in the Alarm Summary page. The alarm  remains in WCS and you can search for all Acknowledged alarms using the  alarm search functionality."
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/wcs/7.0/configuration/guide/7_0event.html#wp1229996
So you can acknowledge that specific alarm once to not show it in the alarm page anymore, only for that occurrence. If however the alarm occurs again, the new occurrence will show up and let you know that you previously acknowledge a similar instance.
    Hope this clarifies the behavior,
    Fede

  • Anchor Eiop tunnel problem 5.2

    Hi,
were using two dmz WLCs for "guest-Access" - one is designated for an Hotspot and one for a direct dmz access. The internal wlc uses the management-interface as interface in the wlan-config and the internal wlc has all accesspoints directly connected and have the same configuration as the dmz wlcs and both ssids are active. Between the inside and outside wlcs we have differend subnets routers and also checkpoint firewall clusters - but no NAT. All Wlcs are in the same mobility group.
The problem is, that under some condition the mobility feature hangs up ! The internal WLC authenticates the client and give him full access (including IP) but the client can not ping or connect to any device behind the eiop tunnel.(in the DMZ) That problem occurs to both DMZ WLCs. On the wcs i can see that there was a short interrupt of the ancor-tunnels but the alarm disappears. While the client can't forward any traffic a debug mobility or an mobility ping works fine and shows no problems (a lot of keepalives from all wlcs)! The only way to get the tunnel working for traffic-forwarding is to reboot the external wlcs in the DMZ. Rebooting the internal won't help!
Do you have any information or suggestion what can causes that kind of problem ? Is there any debug command wehere i can detect the problem ?
    Thanks, Dennis

I am just wanting to verify that all controllers are on the same version of code. A mismatch between an older 5.1 controller or before my result in a problem establishing the tunnel because of the 2 different protocols being used to talk between the AP and the controllers. 5.1 and before is LWAPP 5.2 and later is CAPWAP I believe.

  • Why do my alarms keep disappearing?

I use google calendars to sync with iCal (4.0.4) and my iOS Cal.
For some reason, when I add an new event in iCal, there's a spinning wheel next to that delegate in the lefthand sidebar and then when I look at that new event everything is there except the alarm.
I use alarms a lot, so it'd be handy if anyone could help me sort this out.

I have the same problem but check this out.  3 weeks after they disappeared from my iPad they show up in my Yahoo email account.  Go figure.  Strange thing is that was the first place I looked when I lost them.  Why it takes 3 weeks to get from my iPad to my email account is but another mystery but I am glad they finally showed up.
You might try checking under SETTINGS, then under NOTES to see if you have an account listed there, usually either an email account or an iCloud account.  If so odds are your notes might be in one of these other places.  But you might have to check for some weeks......
