Alert Alternative to pass vales to alert in mobile app

So, I'm converting one of my Flex 4 apps to Flex 4.5 mobile, and I understand Alert shouldn't be used. I looked at Tour de Flex,a nd they have a neat way of making an Alert, but I need to pass a function name and a value which are used. depending on if the user presses 'OK', or 'CAncel'. I pass a function name because the method I'm running is used various times. My old alert was as follows.
protected function unSavedAlertCheck(func:Function, current:int):void {
if (bApply.enabled==true) {
  var o:Object = new Object();
  o["func"] = func;
  o["current"] = current;
  var alert:Alert = Alert.show("You have modified something  and are now navigating away. Doing this will not save the changes you made. Are you sure you want to navigate away and lose your changes?", "Change made without saving...", mx.controls.Alert.YES | mx.controls.Alert.NO, null, processChange);
  alert.data = o;
} else {
  func(current);
Any help would be great.

This is great! Thanks! The problem I have however is that I can't seem to run any function from inside the mxml declared component.
<s:Button label="Save" click="outerDocument.sendUpdate()"/>
Used to be very valid in 4.0 from within the fx:Component, now it doe snot work. (Incidently the sendUpdate is public).
<fx:Component className="AlertMsg">
   <s:SkinnablePopUpContainer x="50" y="240">
    <s:TitleWindow title="Change made without saving" close="close()">
     <s:VGroup horizontalAlign="center" paddingTop="8" paddingBottom="8" paddingLeft="8" paddingRight="8" gap="5" width="100%">
      <s:Label text="Lose Changes?" />
       <s:Button label="Save" click="outerDocument.sendUpdate()"/>
       <s:Button label="Don't Save" click="close();"/>
      </s:HGroup>
     </s:VGroup>
    </s:TitleWindow>
   </s:SkinnablePopUpContainer>
  </fx:Component>
Boy. a Simple Alert box has gotten really hard with spark.
Any ideas?

    What are alternatives for passing DB credentials to rwrun/rwclient command line instead of USERID parameter?
    As per application security, the DB details should be mentioned in command line.
    I am looking for alternatives which I can use?
    Please help.

    If you want a database username/password for every user that runs a report, you need to include un/pw in the command.
    An option that you see quite often is that Reports use a general database user to run any report. In that case you can include the un/pw of this special user in the Key Map File:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/bi.1111/b32121/pbr_run013.htm#RSPUB23557
    Of course, in that case you need an application in front of the call to the report to check if the user is allowed to run the report. This is how most web applications work anyway: there is one database user, and application users are maintained in the application itself.
    Or you can use single sign on:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/doc.11120/e24479/pbr_sso002.htm#RSPUB23512

  • How pass url parameters on init webdynpro app.?

    Hi all,
    i want to pass a parameter to my wd app. when its start. How can i do it? where do i have to do it?
    Thanx in advance
    CP

    You can define parameter using two methods:
    1. Via properties of the iview you have created, system will pass these parameters automatically to the iview.
    2. Via Code, you can use Portal Navigation and pass parameters at runtime. Check following sample code:
              WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute(
                        "ROLES://portal_content/myIview/LoadEmployees",
                                    WDPortalNavigationMode.SHOW_INPLACE,
                                    (String) null,
                                    (String) null,
                                    WDPortalNavigationHistoryMode.NO_DUPLICATIONS,
                                    (String) null,
                                    (String) null,
                                    "action=E");
    The last parameter is for passing parameters, in the example parameter name: action and its value: E.

  • Pass req due date to external app

    Pass req due date to external app
    I have a service link agent configured to create items in an external system and I would like to pass the requistion due date as a service link parameter to the external application. Is there a way to do this using a namespace?

    For  our ServiceLink integrations, we have the due date being set in the  transformation since we always wanted it set for every service using the  agent.
    This will output the due date in the transformation:
    <xsl:value-of select="/message/task-started/task/due-date"/>

  • What's wrong with this picture? Alerts on Mobility 2.1

    Never used Mobility service or its predecessor.
    Brand new Mobility Service 2.1 server running against GroupWise 2014.
    Created with the latest build of 2.1 (service-2.1.0-x86_64-230.iso)
    VM configuration: Four vCPU, 8GB RAM, 50GB disk
    The GW 2014 server and the Mobility server are both hosted on the same hardware; a Dell PE720.
    The respective storage is on 2 different SAN arrays.
    The Mobility system has a grand total of 7 users and 3 associated devices, yet I'm seeing the following alerts:
    Caution 3/6/2015 18:51 Time to Process GroupWise Events: It is taking a long time to receive events from GroupWise - GroupWise Sync Agent
    Caution 3/6/2015 18:51 Time to Receive Events from POA: It is taking a long time to Receive Events from POA - Device Sync Agent

    Caution 3/9/2015 08:58 Percentage of Events that are Slow (Full Time): Some events are taking an excessively long time to be processed - Device Sync Agent
    I'd like to note that user6 hasn't yet connected and registered a device on the system.
    If I'm getting time-related errors with a measly 7 users and 3 devices, I can't imagine what will happen with 100 users.
    What should I look at to track down the cause of the issues?

    Part of this is also merely "informational". When you first prime an account it
    will almost ALWAYS complain about high usage of attachments, time lags, and
    such. I generally do not worry about it unless these errors persist. And they
    will stay on the screen until you clear them. So are these errors "current", or
    historical at this point?

  • Strange problem with AAM, Alerts, and custom app

    Hello
    We have a custom app written by an outside vendor. There is a function of the app called merge that basically takes a template in a document library and is supposed to make a copy for editing. The function only works if the Default AAM is the internal server
    name http://server1. However the alerts email links show the same thing so they do not work from outside of the network. If the default AAM is changed to the Internet URL http://sharepoint.domain.com the merge fails with error "error is The remote server
    returned an error: (401) Unauthorized., url is http://sharepoint.domain.com/prm/Document Library/Templates/Test co.docx." And the alerts are correct.
    Of course the vendor says it is not their issue. Anyone able to give me some ideas? Can the Alert Template be changed to come from other than the default AAM value?
    Thanks

    the error ("401 unauthorized") is likely due to a LoopbackCheck.
    You cannot change the email message, alerts always use default AAM.

  • Alternative to passing JFrame parameter?

    I have a class (in a file) that handles the menu, hence the name "MenuHandler".
    The calling class is the main app and passes the "frame" as a parameter.
    Is there an alternative to get the "handle" of the frame of the main app. It is the root object, I assume.
         public MenuHandler(JFrame frame) {
              this.frame = frame;
         }

    I was looking at JFrame.* doc but found nothing there.
    Frame.getFrames() is working (qua syntax), but the result is different.
    Now I have a main app window with a menubar, selecting new-tab from the menu will not give me a new tab in the main app window, but a new window popup in which the tab is displayed.
    Frame.getFrames().length=1
    Other actions on the menubar in the main app will change the popup window.

  • Configure grid alert to mobile via SMS

    Hello All,
    We have oracle Grid control installed and it is sending us the email notifications. Now we want only critical alerts to be rooted to mobile by means of SMS.
    Does anybody has worked on configuring this?
    Please share ..
    Thank you,
    Anil Malkai.

    Hi,
    We don't support sending of SMS notifications directly, however many of our customers have it working with support from their cell phone service providers. Specifically, the requirement/assumption is the SMS device should have an email address to which EM can send the email messages. The cell phone service provider should be able to help in identifying the associated email address of a cell phone. They should then configure the SMTP gateway settings in EM in order for EM to send email messages. In EM, they should also specify the EM user's email address (associated with the SMS device) to use the short-format notifications. Short format notifications results in sending messages in plain-text mode.
    Refer to the Notifications chapter of the EM Administrator's Guide for details on setting up the SMTP gateway, and specifying email addresses for a user.

  • Can't turn off alerts in Viber app

    I am using Viber (v. 2.2.2.86) on iOS 6 on my iPhone 5.
    I am unable to turn off any of the notifications for Viber, not even sound alerts. If I disable any of the notifications for Viber (Badge App Icon, Sound Alerts or View in Lock Screen), Viber keeps prompting me until all of these have been turned back on, so I cannot use Viber with alerts turned off.
    I do not need the sound alerts and it is quite irritating to get a sound alert for every single message received. Please make it optional to enable alerts.
    Viber should leave it to its users to decide how they want to be alerted, and not try and be a nanny here.
    Thanks
    Vijay

    Hi!You can stop your notification for each app,that is included in Notification centre from:Settings>Notifications>Calendar-Notification Center -OFF.I hope this will help you.

  • Alert blurs main app but never shows up

    on very very rare occasions i've got a user reporting that a simple modal Alert blurs the main app but never shows up--which more or less blocks the app.
    the Alert is generated by this method:
    // generic message display
    protected function informUser(msg:String,msgTitle:String,msgType:String="normal"):void {
    // user must interact
    var inform:Alert=Alert.show(msg,msgTitle)
    inform.styleName="inform";
    if (msgType=="error")
    informError.play();
    any ideas on what might be causing this?
    thanks.
    attached is what the user's seeing.

    no, there's always text when this Alert is called & it works 99.99% of the time. display list? yes. visible? it's supposed to be but on the blue moon events it's not showing up, main app blurs but the Alert dialogue simply doesn't show up. the client says it's happened twice over the course of several months.
    i can't reproduce this so i can't really debug it.
    thanks.

  • Silencing the default alert in Calendar App (Mountain Lion)

    For the newly named Calendar App (was iCal), default alerts behaviour seems to have changed in 10.8 Mountain Lion as compared with iCal in Lion.
    Through preferences, it is possible to specify a default alert. I would like to make that alert silent by default (the Basso sound jars). In iCal, before Mountain Lion, this little hack achievd this by making the specified alarm silent: link
    Anyone have an equivalent solution for Calendar App in Mountain Lion or experience of using this hack in Mountain Lion?

    Does the Alerts tab in your Calendar preferences pane have a "Play a sound" checkbox? If so, will unchecking slience the alerts?
    Or, in Notification Center, there's a setting to turn off Calendar sounds.
    My issue is that I seem to be missing the "Play a sound" checkbox I described above (see pic for what it *should* look like). Anyone else have this issue?
