Alert system with JEE

Hello,
I want to build an alert system with JEE. App server will listen to events in our network (snmp traps, new data in database, other servers will triger event...) and if an event ocurs it will pass it to users.
My main problem is how to notify users using EJB!!! I thinking about message driven beans but I don't know how to trigger MDB from outside (another bean or program on server) to send the message. User can call a MDB and say 'I am listening...' and than wait for message, but how will bean know to send an alarm???
Basically I want to system work like this. When the user program is launched it will call a remote service which is doing a look up in the database for example (this service will run regardless if no users are logged on). Then another user program is launched and also calls the same remote service. So this two users are looking for the same alarm. When alarm is trigered this two users are notified.
Also server in our network will log on to app server and raise an alarm if needed. This is easy to implement. At least to inform a app server. The remote server can connect to app server by calling stateless bean and interceptor can catch that call. But then how to inform users that alarm is raised??
I am thinking to seperate the system to notifying section and alarm raising section.
The alarm raising section will be group of beans for example, which will be called from remote servers from where alarm is raised. Only for the database look up I want to use app server, but this can also be local program that is calling a MDB which is making an look up.
The notifying section will be group of message driven beans for example, which will be called from users. When a bean from alarm raising section is called, then this alarm must be pased to notifying section beans.
A user program will be just a system tray programe, which will show a popup window.

You haven't mentioned the exact version of Photoshop you are running. As the always helpful and knowledgeable JJMack told you, new versions of Photoshop do have auto save and recovery when enabled in your Photoshop Preferences.
However, no auto recovery and/or autosave is a match for a defective machine. As suggested by Mr. Cox, you should do a thorough inspection of all your hardware ASAP.

Alert system for chain process

I want to configure the alert system for when an error occurs in processing chains.
I followed the steps in the forum THROUGH ALRTCATDEF transaction, but I can not do the following, which is what I really need;
That the key responsibility for a particular user cube notifications will arrive Error loading this cube, not all the cubes.
All I've got to make is that the error messages will reach all key users regardless if you have access to that hub or not.

Mac Alert systems issue

Sure Response Alert system call center

Does anyone know any info on the call center that handles the Verizon Medical alert system "Sure Response"? Who runs/owns the call center? Where is it located? What is the training extent, etc? I find little information regarding the actual call center that handles the emergency situations.
I'm very interested in getting this system for my father, as he has no home phone lines, lives in an area that Verizon is the strongest signal and it seems a good system (I tried it at the store and am not sure why all the negative reviews.. is easy enough to use). Am slightly concerned that Verizon doesn't promote this more, as I sometimes think that means they aren't serious about the product.
At any rate, I really need to get more info on the group/place that actually takes the calls.. and what type of information they keep on the customers using this product.

My husband used this system for several months before he passed away. We were very happy with it. He accidentally pushed the call button a few times. The personnel who answered where very kind. Told him no problem, could they help him with anything, did he have any questions, and to "call" them if he had any issues.
They were professional and since we had registered his health information we were confident they could help in an emergency. He wore it as a wrist watch.
When he passed, I took the unit to Verizon and they promptly ended the contract. They told me to keep the device, as they no longer carried them. Apparently they still provide the service, not the device. They suggested I advertise it on eBay.

I only configured the alert. I am trying to find the issue which would have caused this alert in the server.
Check
ERRORLOG and see if you have any severity 20 error logged at the same time when you received alert.

Can we have 2 Alert Configurations with same XI Server, Local&Central(CCMS)

I am looking to configure Local Alert Configuration with XI Server,
It already had CCMS Alert Configurations in place, But the solution Manager
is forwarding alerts related to all the Servers (ECC,CRM,BW,XI). It is becoming
difficult to track the alerts of XI.
So my question is is it possible to have 2 alert configurations with XI l ocal & Certral (CCMS)?.
What are the effects if we have both.
I think it is possible to maintain xi specific alerts to specific mail ID's . But basis is finiding difficult in doing this.
Let me know suggestions if you have any in this case.

Yes you can have your own PI specific alerts.
You do this via ALRTCATDEF (as stated earlier)
You can edit the message header so you know if it's PI generated or if you log in as PISUPER to configure this then the sender will be PISUPER
Alternatively, why dont you ask BASIS to turn off monitoring for XI and allow you do a more fine-tuned version of this monitoring.
Or even better, dont create any local alerts but have BASIS finetune the central alerts so that the affected system is included in the subject header, also have them create roles for these systems and ensure messages are only sent to the impacted role. Blindly sending messages for all system to all system owners is really lazy config.

Never again - Emergency Alert System (EAS)

My daughter was watching TV last night and FIOS interrupted programming with some Emergency Alert System message that was painfully loud and temporarily damaged her hearing. We could not disable it when it happened. If this ever happens again, we're through with FIOS TV.
I can't believe that anyone would do this not knowing the potential damage it can incur.

First, I am sorry your daughter's hearing was damaged, I hope it really is or was temporary. Having said that, however:
a) It is required by law to broadcast those alerts, as you have already been informed about and provided with a reference.
b) I think the alert really has to be louder than the normal programming to get the viewer's attention (but obviously not so loud as to damage someone's hearing).
c) I think it also disrupts your viewing to get your attention, just like the sound volume. I don't think there is a program being broacast that you cannot afford to miss a minute or two of. Now, as to having to restart the recording, I agree, that really should not be required. As far as I can tell, the FiOS DVRs record programs based on the program info provided in the Guide; I am guessing that perhaps the emergency broadcast temporarily causes the DVR to lose the program info, and thus it stops recording. That would seem to me to be something Verizon could fix, if that is in fact the reason it stops recording.
d) Although my kids are long, long gone from our house, I fully support the current implementation. It is a good thing, and only a minor irritant, and pretty rare at that.
I don't know how old your daughter is, but if it were her that was missing, I suspect you would have a different outlook on this (again, except for the hearing damage).
There are certainly some problems with FiOS, but this is not one of them, IMO.

'ALERT: System Protection Failure' on my Satellite Pro A120

Got home today, switched laptop on and straight away I'm confronted with a DOS style screen saying:

Anybody know what on earth this means and what the password might be? I've never set any passwords on this, except one for logging onto Windows, which I know it wouldn't be that and it wasn't.

I've never used Toshiba Security Assist nor set any passwords of it so I very much doubt this is the cause.
I'm going to be getting a 2.5 to 3.5 connector in the next few days so I can hook my HDD up to my desktop PC and hopefully recovered my data, that is as long as this isn't a HDD problem - I don't think it is.
Again, there has been no password set for the HDD.
I bought the Laptop from eBuyer (UK). I don't think they would have set a password as from what I can tell the Laptop is untouched by them - it was wrapped when I received it. Also, whilst I didn't have to install the OS myself, I had to go through a number of processes at the start which were Toshiba branded, so I assume only Toshiba have set anything.
I rang Toshiba tech support and was asked to do a number of things (remove battery - I even tried the battery out for 24 hours, 27, in fact, as well as pressing F2, F1, ESC, DEL, F12 and some other keys at startup), however nothing worked and I the tech support person told me that I would need to send it in for repair, or take it to an ASP. I've been given a service request number and If I haven't fixed this problem by the time I've received my HDD connectory and backed up my data then I'll be sending the laptop in to Toshiba.

Middleware problem -Outbound queue is stuck in SAP R/3 system with message

Hi Middleware gurus ,
We are stuck with a serious issue . We are trying to download Business partners from SAP R/3 4.6c system to SAP CRM 5.2 system using CRM Middleware
Previously we did a successful Initial download of 2 Business partners from SAP R/3 to CRM . Their BP numbers in CRM are 001 and 002 . The Delta load is working fine for the both the BPs which are already downloaded
Now , the real problem is when we are trying to download a new Business partner . When we set the Filter ( BP no 003 ) in MW adaptor object CUSTOMER_MAIN and start the Initial load again , we see that the Outbound queue is getting stuck with message STOP .
There are two queues generated in SAP R/3 system with names MASS_CRM_CUSTOME and R3AD_CUSTOME . The status for both the queues is STOP and when go for details it mentions sapsuck ..SAPMSSY1 -Message no. SR 053.
Even we checked the txn SMW01, the Bdocs message is "Recived ( Intermediate state) " for Bdoc type BUPA_MAIN.
We really dont as to why the Initial load worked fine with 2 BPs and later when want to do more BP Initial Load the Outbound queue is getting stuck
Also , by unlocking the 2nd queue R3AD_CUSTOME we are able to release it , but the first queue MASS_CRM_CUSTOME* is stuck
Please help us urgently

We checked on this . Actually the RFC is used for connecting to SAP R/3 system.
We also raised an OSS message on this and found a reply that in transaction CRMM_BUPA_MAP, we can map the required BP . But the SAP support guy recived an error received the error:
An RFC link is not maintained in the Middleware
Message no. CRM_BUPA_MAPPING051
We have set the RFC link , but still the problem continues!!!

SSO for application systems with local users?

Hi all, I'm new to Oracle Identity Management. My company is going to implement SSO for inhouse applications. However, some applications have their own local users (e.g. admin, guest, etc.) who have to login to the application system through the same interface. We put all organization users in an Oracle enterprise Directory server, which is the authentication backend of the Access Manager. After implementing webgate, such local users can't get authenticated. I'd like to know if it's possible to configure particular users/applications to bypass SSO and use local authentication? Thanks.

Possible solution is to create a new entry point for local users. Create two proxies one for actual user entry and another for local user. You can restrict n/w access to proxy with local login so that only few hosts based on your requirement who needs to access system with local accounts. This way you will have two web sites for single application.

There are several threads about this problem, most notably one called 'Invalid Certificates' is over 4 pages long. Many of us have experienced difficulty connecting to banking and other secure sites. On my Macbook Pro, I cannot get to my banking site with any browser, however I can get there on my iMac using Safari, but get the 'Invalid Certificate' notice with FF and Chrome. The problem started after the installation of 10.7.4. I have sent a message to Apple--they will be dismayed to hear that I cannot complete an order at their online store!
