AlertMonitor for a specific job

Hi every body,
I have a created a background job called 'gsa_job'. Now my requirement is whenever this job(only 'gsa_job') aborts I want to trigger an email from alert monitor.
In rz20 there is a monitor called 'BackgroundProcessing' where there is a sub node called 'AbortedJobs' which gets the alert whenever a job(any job) fails.
But I want to create a monitor which gets alerts only if my 'gsa_job' fails, so that i can assign an auto reaction method 'CCMS_OnAlert_Email' to my monitor.
Please help me out.

Hi Mounika
Yes you can monitor a special background job in RZ20.
It is possible by importing some support packages based on your release version
and Start transaction SE16 and enter the name of a job whose execution you want to monitor in the "Job name" field in the ALBTCMON table.You can specify either a name or name pattern

Our database is quite big and everything works OK and very fast, except SQL jobs which are used mainly for maintenance purposes.
I have one specific job which runs for 2 minutes and takes a lot of resources which may affect execution of other stored procedure which should be executed fast.The worst part is that this job has to be executed during the most active working hours. It does
not matter for me how long will it take to execute this job. I just do not want it to use so much resources.
Also I noticed when SQL backup job (takes about 4 minute) is scheduled it also takes a lot of resources and sometimes because of that I am receiving "login timeout" error on my web site.

depending on you sql server version and edition, you can use resource governor and limit the cpu and memory.
in most typical cases , you can use the session user name and times and classify the how much cpu and memory they can use. refer : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645892.aspx
but in your case, the problem seems to be with the maintenance jobs which could run as sql server service account.
also, if the backup are third party tool backup, you can specify the priority level and other options etc to make it less priority.
it is possible to do that even with native backups such as specifying the limiting buffercount, max transfer size, if the server is memory pressured. sometimes, stripping the backups to multiple sets across different devices, could help as well. even though
stripping the backups can introduce another complexity.
may be you need to rethink you back up\recovery strategy.

We have So many jobs running in our HR system and BW systems but with no proper Monitoring Configuration. We have Solution manager 7.0 with EHP latest version with CCMS configured. How to setup the email in Solution Manager using CCMS when Job failed?
Is there any standard way of doing it from HR system and BW system other than using solution manager? so that we can use it for Temporary solution.

I recommend to use SAP CPS by Redwood to schedule you BW and of course also your HR jobs.

I would like to know what application I should use for this specific job. I have 6 photos in Iphoto, and I would like to print them out on one piece of paper with the title and key words showing. Please help.

My objective is to print photos on on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper (4 per page). I want to include the photo title and the photo key words.
I am not sure how to go about doing this.

In iPhoto, create an album with the images you want to print.
Once created, open the album and select all the images (type Command + A)
Go to the menu View and make sure Titles and Keywords are checked.
Go to the menu File > Print
Choose Contact Sheet
In the lower right corner press the customize button
In the next window that opens, at the bottom of the window change the column slider to "2"
You should be good to go. If OK, then press Print at the bottom right corner of the window.

I want to set default printer settings to be used only for a specific type of application, certain documents. All other print jobs should use a different default setting for the printer.

I am printing a specific document from a web based application. This document need to be printed in landscape. So I would like to set the default settings for this specific printer to landscape. But for all other printers it should be portrait. But this does not seem to work. The browser picks the settings from the standard/default printer and uses this for all print jobs.

How can I search for details in job log files

Hi,
I'm looking for a specific entry in the job log. I don't know when it was written (other than the date), to find the log without trial and error, I need a specific time to open the correct one in IDC.
The entry was written by the modifyADSuser pass and it would have an userID tag in the log file but there are many hundreds a day for me to hunt through. If I could find where identity center pulls the log files from I could either use a SQL select (if it's held in the database) or text search (if it's held in a folder) to zero in on the correct log file. Does anyone know where the information that's shown in the IDC job logs is stored?

Thanks for the response, I checked MC_LOGS and that looks to be the same detail that is available in the management console, basically the rows displayed in the job log. Do you know the table relationship after MC_LOGS, what's the tale name for the data (even if encrypted) that details each pass etc?

Our application has users and roles. A user is associated to a role. These are defined in 2 tables:

In that JSP we generate one Javascript function getButtonEnableFlags(). This function defines each button's enable flag of each screen for the user's role_id. So when a user of "Payroll" role logins then this is generated:

This solution is working fast and perfect. The javascript function getButtonEnableFlags() is generated once when user logins so each web page does not have to call the server to figure out enable flag for their buttons.
I have created a maintenance screen for the Administrator which provides the facility to enable/disable buttons on each web page for a specific role. This screen updates the role_web_page_button table.
Problem is if the Administrator makes any changes for a Role how can I reflect that change on the user's of that role which are already login in the system? For example suppose 2 users of "Payroll" role are login in the system and for "Peson_Info" web page the "update" button is disabled. Now administrator changes the "update" button of "Personal_Info" web page to enable for "Payroll" role through the maintenance screen. How can I reload the header.jsp on only those 2 user's computer?

I suppose you can use AJAX to change the end-users JSP page that is displayed on his browser as he is vieiwing it.
However, I suggest against changing permissions on a JSP page while the user is using it (I believe most programmers do not do that). If I was an end-user with a JSP page displayed and I suddenly see the 'update' button disapear, I would be very upset.I suggest waiting for the user to close his session (and not simpily navigate to another page within the session, but actually ending the session by either calling up another web site or closing the browser) and when he next logs into the applcation again, the button is gone. If the administrator does take away a permission such as an 'update' button, do you really need to deny permission to everyone right then? I think you can wait for users to log off.
An alternative is to create a batch job that when the admin removes permission, the batch job runs at midnight to actually change the permission in the database. Since few people are logged on at midnight, few people will see the change while they are working.
Another possiblity is when they click the update button, don't do an actual update to the database. Instead, redraw the page with the update button disabled (not removed) and add a note on the JSP page that the administrator has just removed permission for all users to update at this time.

Is there a way to search for a specific term or criteria in Numbers for iOS?
My father owns a small business and has a large inventory of parts. He wants a simple way to search his inventory for a particular part number and see how many of a the specific part number he has in his inventory, while not in the shop or having to call in. He wants to take an iPad along with him.
My first thought was to create an spreadsheet. I have a basic knowledge of how spreadsheets work, and I don't think my father would like anything more complicated.
I was thinking about making the 1st column list the part number, 2nd column list the quantity in the shop, 3rd column list the quantity in the truck.
If Numbers for iOS is not able to do this, suggestions for alternatives are welcome.

Would the "Find" option in the "Tools" menu do the job?
If you search for the part number, it will be highlightet, and with your outline for a setup, I guess that would give you the overview you are talking about.

It is not necessary for user having SAP_ALL authorization under which background job is running.
Define specific users to use for background processing. Define them as system users (non-dialog) and give them only the necessary authorizations that are needed for the executed programs

Can we change the selection criteria for RV60SBAT Background Job for Billin

We have a requirement to add a new selection criteria for RV60SBAT Background Job for Billing. We want to process back order invoices first. So we want a specific background job to select these. So we want to select any orders that are eligible to be invoiced where order date < the date of background job(r sy-datum ). Any ideas where we can introduce this logic for selection criteria?

For your requirement , copy the standard RV60SBAT program to Z program and in that copied RV60SBAT program , maintain the logic that the backorder invoices should be first processed.Then after that regular background job for billing should take happen .Then your requirement can be fulfilled

How to get all oneorder header_guids for a specific reference PRODUCT_ID?

Hi,
in servicerequest we add iobjects as reference objects.
The iobject represents the machine a customer has an issue with.
Within the iobject master we have a PRODUCT_ID. The product_ID represents the machine type.
So:
1 product_id could have 1:n iobjects (machines)
1 servicerequest has 1:1 iobject.
The requirement is to select all oneorder documents with a specific product_id within the assigned iobject.
I do not realy know which database tables i have to join?
Or is there already a function module in standard which can be used?

Hi,
OBJECT_ID can´t be the import parameter for IOBJECTs because it is from type CRMT_OBJECT_ID - which is the ID of transactions and not IOBJECTs.
I have played arround with this function module CRM_SERVICE_PORTAL_SEARCH but haven´t found an option to get all servicerequests (one order documents) for a specific reference object or a list of reference objects.
Are there other ideas how to use this or another function module for my requirement.

Custom Report for the Stock and Stock value for a specific date

Hi SAP Gurus,
Is there any SAP standard t-code or any logic to get the transcations (additions (for example: Purchases) and subtractions (Sales) to the inventory) for a particular materials in a plant and with Total Stock and also Total Stock value when that particular transaction happened?
Our system is R/3 4.7
I looked at the MB5B, MBCE, MBCA, MC44, MB51 and some other standard T-codes but could not find the total stock value at the time of Transaction happened.
The history tables MBEWH and MARDH are updated after the month end closing procedures, right, which means I will have the inventory value changing every month if material has Price "S".

Unfortunately, you cannot see in a single tcode the value of stock and stock quantity on a specific date. As you yourself have pointed out, we only have to make use of the history table MBEWH, MARDH for the month wise stock quantity and value. Along with that you should also make use of the table MBEW to take teh stock quantity and value. So the total value of stock on a particular date will be
Stock qnty = MBEWH value until the previous month (for teh specific valuation class, period etc) + MBEW value for the present date.
But this will nto work out if you want to find out teh stock quantity and stock value on a past date basis. For past data, only m onthwise data is available. For this anyway you can refer to MC.1 and so on reports.

Is there a way to search for a specific keyword within the sites to which the bookmarks are linked? I need to search all linked sites in the bookmark folder without having to open each page and "find" manually.

Currently, I must browse through 50 or so bookmarked pages to see if a specific topic is covered. I would like to be able to search all bookmarked pages at once for a specific keyword. For example, if I have 50 news sites bookmarked and I would like to see which pages have the word "tuna" in them, I would need to open each page individually and do a "find". If I could search all of those pages at once, then I would save an immense amount of time. I have looked on the add-ons and found nothing...

1. Create a smart album and in the drop down in the top right corner select file status
2. Check mark the file status box and select 'Offline'
Now you should have all your 'Offline' (Yellow Exclamation and/or Red Slash) files.
To reconnect..
1. Select the missing files.
2. Go to File and scroll to Manage Referenced Files
The dialog box will have one of the photos selected
3. Select the drive and folder that contains the referenced file and select it
4. Click 'Reconnect All'
This might not reconnect all of them, but the dialog box will still be open and you can reconnect the ones left.

No Data to display in Application failure report for a specific Application

Hi ,
For a specific application,Application failure report showing no data to display but for the same application other reports shows value.
Application failure reports seems to work fine for some other application except few.Need to know the root cause.

Is there any error message when you run Application Failure Analysis report for the specific application?
Does this application have any failure alerts?
You may also look into operation manager even logs to check is there any errors or warnings.
