Alias in Webform

Hi
Is there any way we can use an alias other than default alias in planning webform.
Please suggest..

I am sure others will also share their opinions, but I think this can be done thru updating your metadata upload process. Let say you get your Employee list from PeopleSoft and update your employee dimension by using one of the ETL tools (ODI, outline load utility, HAL, etc). I am not an ETL expert, but I have seen this before where the sorting would take place in the ETL process, so the members are loaded to your application in ascending order. Makes sense?

Issues with WebForm performance

Hi,
We had migrated a new application from UAT to PROD and we encounter webform performance issues with the following actions..
After login, the first form you open it is
always slow. After this you can switch from one form to another without a
delay.
Then once you change any data – the next time
you access a form it gets delayed.
The point to be noted is, it doesnt have any performance issues in the UAT environment and the configuration settings,essbase cache settings are all the same. We did try to move the EPM system to a new server to see if this is a hardware issue but no luck, the performance issues still exist. The consumption of the CPU/memory has been checked and it is proved that the form opening delay has nothing to do with lack of memory.
The JVM head settings is set up at 4GB which is infact higher than that of the UAT environment(2GB).
runs on Windows server2008,11.1.2.1.600 EPM serve, has planning,reporting,foundation on one server (32GB ram) and essbase on another server (32GB ram). Any help is appreciated.

I never thought it could be an emulator issue, I thought I had done something wrong to begin with. So I take having performance issues with tiled layer is not a common problem I suppose?
I'm using MOTODEV SDK platform, A1200 model (motorola).

Hi,
1.If you open a data form in 'edit' mode.
2. Now, go to the table of Row/Column layout, Here you see Order , dimension . Right side to the drop down of 'Dimension' If you keep the cursor , it says ' Dimension Properties. Click that and you can set the 'Display' Property from 'Member name ' to 'Alias'.
3. Follow step 2 for both row and column
4. Goto Page/ Point of view layout, here its very easy to set 'Display' setting from 'Member name ' to 'Alias'.

Purchase of the Webform Central

I have 2 questions:
1. I wish to purchase Webform central annual subscription costing $143.88. I wish to ask you whether this subscription will allow me to convert and download as pdf files the forms and responses from people into my laptop?
2. Is it necessary to buy Adobe Pro XI to avail the conversion facility of web forms into pdf files.
In other words, whether the Adobe webform central form generation and response collection software usage requires Adobe XI Pro or can this be used independently.

#1 - Yes, you can download a response as PDF. This tutorial explains how it works: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1383
#2 - FormsCentral is a completely separate application. You do not need Acrobat Pro XI.

Add Comment Column in Webform

Hi Expert,
We created some common members for our users, which users from different departments can use these common members for different purposes. We would like to know if it is possible to add a "Comment" column to a Hyperion Planning Webform, so that the user can input their required description for the member, to identify these common members?
We currently ask them to put in their specific name in the "Cell text", but user would have to place the cursor over the cell in order to know what that member stands for, whereas they request if it's possible to list the "Cell text" in the column by each row, so that they know what each member stands for, something like the below:
Column 1 (dimension 1) Column 2 (cell text of dimension 1) Data
Common member 1 user entered description 12345
Seek any expert advise as to how to achieve this in Hyperion Planning? We are using the latest version 11.1.2.2.
We don't want to use Alias, as we don't want to have to deploy the application everytime the user merely update the description of the common member.

I've done this on several apps by adding a "data type" dimension to my application. It typically contains two members: 1) Amount, 2) Description. It's usually a sparse dimension, and does not consolidate, so has little to no impact on performance. What this allows you to do is add text annotations (directly in the web input form) for any cell combination. The "Description" member must have a data type of "Text", and the evaluation order must be set correctly in Hyperion Planning for the text to display properly.
Users enter text directly in their web input forms. No cell text, supporting detail, or other methods required.
It's especially useful in situations like you described, where you have a set of "generic" members that you want to give context or a name.
There are some downsides that you should be aware of:
- You need to be careful about clearing data, as you may inadvertently clear descriptions. Just be careful about your FIX in your clear statements.
- You cannot report on these with the native Essbase add-in. You must use a Planning connection in Smart View or FR.
- Sometimes you have to tuck a description in a slightly different cell combination than your data. For example, you may put your description in BegBalance, but your remaining data in the months.
This means you need to be aware of where your descriptions are stored for reporting purposes.
- The text data is stored in a table in the Planning app repository, so if you want to migrate your text, you need to move this data as well as your Essbase data.
It's not perfect, but tends to work out pretty well.

We are using the same xml and xsl files mentioned in the document .
While preview or adding the site content to the page we are getting below error.
Cannot render container : Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: XML Declaration not allowed here.(:main:, row:1, col:7)

the note tells you to go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Web Page Composer -> Editor -> XSLT Helpers
and check if there is a XSLT Helper with the following parameters:
name: anonymous
Alias: *
Implementation: com.sap.nw.wpc.km.service.editor.xslt.XsltHelperRuntimeStandard
Key for Description: Define helper for default
PRT Mode: *
If not, create one and restart the portal.

Running 9i Rel2 Webforms

I am having trouble running 9i webforms.
I am running 9iDS rel2 on XPprof alongside a 9i database on the same machine (2 Oracle Homes). Forms Developer interacts with the database fine, SQLPLUS is fine.
I have made an entry in 'formsweb.cfg' to point to my application as follows:

I invoke via the following URL http://<machine>:<port>/forms90/f90servlet?config=application but only the Test.fmx is invoked. I have set my path in the registry and tried putting my form in the same directory as the test form but it still shows the test form.
If I try changing the URL to http://<machine>:<port>/forms90/f90servlet?form=pdc009f.fmx I get a message saying page cannot be viewed offline!!
I would be very grateful if somebody could help.

127.0.0.1 is a magic IP address that TCP/IP knows means "This Machine" the alias "localhost" can also be used.
So if you are on a standalone machine that is only intermittently (if ever) connected to the network then this will work..
As for the Offline thing in IE - if you are online then IE should only actually dial out if you make a request for an external site 127.0.0.1 whoudl not trigger this - but I guess that depends on how you have your machine set up.

If statement in select statement alias

Unable open Project details or a project from PWA Project server 2010 with Alias name

Hi,
I am unable to open the Projects from Project center with the Alias name with the server name i am able to open the projects, version is project server 2010,
My system is ABC.DC.IN alias name i have given is DEF.AD.COM
With the system name i can able access PWA and all are working fine.
As i have observed with alias name i can able to login to pwa and all the server setting approval center all are working fine but only in the project center i am not able to open the projects (http://DEF.AD.COM/pwa/ProjectDrillDown.aspx .xxxx)
its is coming in the below of the ie.
But with Alias name these are the issues i am facing,
1.when longing with alias name its asking two times for user name and password
2.when i click on a project from project center its taking some time and asking for user name and password after i enter user name and password "PAGE cannot displayed" error i am getting.

name password again if click on any project in project center and and showing page cannot be displayed error.

HT4436 How can I transfer my odl family pack email to new iCloud id? Or add a new email account (not an alias) to my main icloud id?

I had a family pack but now I am not able to reach my son's email account. How can I find and transfer it? Or how can I open a new email account for my son through my icloud id. Actually it seems as if there is an oprating email account under his name but e-we cannot receive any emails or cannot reach the account settings...

Each sub-account of a MobileMe Family Pack should have been individually migrated to iCloud before August 1st last. Assuming that you didn't do this, you should be able to reactivate the address (though not retrieve its previous contents) by signing in with it in System Preferences>iCloud and enabling Mail - your son should do this on his own Mac or his own user account if he is using your Mac. It's not clear whether he will be able to reactivate the @me.com version or only get an @icloud.com version. (It would be useful to know, when he tries it.)
If he did migrate the account to iCloud then signing in in the same way should retrieve the contents and the @me.com address should work.
Alternatively he can just create a new Apple ID (for which he will need a new non-Apple email address) if he doesn't already have one, and sign in with that, enabling Mail and choosing a new @icloud.com address.
You should note that in none of these cases does his account have anything to do with yours (there is no need for a Family Pack equivalent in iCloud as it's free at basic level).
You could add an email alias to your account, but it's not a good idea as it will mix his emails up with yours and he won't be able to detach it later.

Problem in creation of system alias for bw system

I want to create system alias for the bw system
system admin->sys Config->system landscape->portal content->my own folder
for this folder i created the system object
after creation of system object, from property category i select the connector and give the details.
after that i select the user management and give
authentication ticket - select
Logon method- UIDPW
User Management type- admin,user
i saved till now
in the display object i select the system alias
then that screen displays
In the system alias screen, i clicked on add button for adding alias then we r getting this message.
User Mapping Status: (Not ready for user mapping configuration)
Please give the solution for solving this problem

I checked the connection settings.
WAS settings in system object is giving this mistake
before user mapping it works fine.
after giving usermapping i ma getting this exception.

Query help - Using Alias in column equation

Hi All,
I have selected some data as an alias and would like to refer to the alias in another equation column. I cannot figure out how to do this correctly.
Here is my full query below, with a NULL called '3 Mnth Average' column because I am unsure how to reference the Alias and data type correctly for the required equation.
For example, I want to return the '3 Mnth Average' result being the '3 Mnth Total' Alias divided by 3. ('3 Mnth Total' / 3).... Every time I try... i fail.

If you are not using temporary table, you have to rewrite complete formula to get 3 month average. There is no way to reference within the same query.

Full path from Alias in Automation plugin

I have an automation plugin that watches for Save events and performs some processing in CS4.
When I do a "Save As", I've noticed that under some conditions, I can't resolve the alias in the PIActionDescriptor to a file path. Instead it resolves to the folder where the new file was saved.
You can duplicate this using the Listener plugin by following these steps:
1 - Open a file.
2 - Select Save As
3 - Select a different file format (Photoshop will change the extension. Don't edit the filename at all, let Photoshop do it.)
4 - Select As a Copy
5 - Save it
Now look at the listener log file. You should see that the path is to the folder not the file.
If you edit the file name in anyway, other than letting Photoshop change the extension, the file's path will be resolved.
I can work around this except for the case of a Save As "As a Copy".
Can anyone help?

The SourceDirectory element appears to be completely broken and has me flustered! If I specify a relative path without a '..' alias MsBuild responds with:
<SourceDirectory path="WebContent\bower_components"/>
Cannot find the source directory 'C:\GitCode\Resi\ResiTrader\ResiCloudService\bin\Debug\WebContent\bower_components' in role Web.
if I attempt to use '..' it changes the root path its resolves from!

The SourceDirectory element also does not expand environment variables unless they are SYSTEM environment variables like %PATH%. Ideally I think what customers want is the ability to pull the project down from source control and build the deployment package
without the need for an administrator to adjust SYSTEM environment variables.
