Aligning a gauge in a form

does anyone know how to either center or maximise the width of a gauge on a form in J2ME?
i've tried:
gauge.setLayout(Item.CENTER)
gauge.setLayout(Item.EXPAND)
but neither have any effect on my device. aligning stringItems works fine though...

...LAYOUT_CENTER...Do you combine directives with [Item.LAYOUT_2|http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/apis/jsr118/javax/microedition/lcdui/Item.html#LAYOUT_2] - like LAYOUT_CENTER | LAYOUT_2 ? as far as I understand, if you don't then device behavior is rather hard to predict... Check [Form layout specification|http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/apis/jsr118/javax/microedition/lcdui/Form.html#layout] for more details.
Actually it looks like for MIDP 2.0 device it is legal to ignore layout directives at all. :( Only most recent version, that is MIDP 2.1 made it a mandatory requirement: +[...Make LCDUI layout directives (MIDP 2.0 specification pages 292-294) mandatory...|http://jcp.org/aboutJava/communityprocess/maintenance/jsr118/JSR_118_MR2_Changelog.pdf]+

  • Alignment of text entered on forms

    Hi.  Just realized that there was an adobe forum.  Hoping someone can assist with alignment issue.
    Have several PDF forms form my site (www.singaporedoc.com) which users can download.
    However, whilst the text area allows for at least 2-3 lines of text, the text when first entered appears somewhat too low down, like it is missing the first line.
    Can't figure out how to solve this.
    eg. if you look at http://www.singaporedoc.com/index.php/orthopaedic-surgery/?filter_order=cd.name
    There is a PDF link there.  Under "Clinical Diagnosis" and "Current Medication" I get the above problem.
    Many thanks.

    I'm not seeing "Clinical Diagnosis" nor "Current Medication" on that page. Link to the PDF file directly if you want any help.

  • Centeral alignment in flowing (L-R) form (hAlign?)

    Hello,
    I have a flowed subform (western text) containing some text and a text field which is expandable widthways. I would like the overall text (i.e. the entire content of the subform) to be centered in the page (the form is as wide as the page). I have managed to achieve this temporarily by setting all of its contents' hAlign property to "center" using javascript; but whatever event I set this on it seems to only take effect once the text field expands rather than when the form is first loaded. Also it reverts to left alignment when other parts of the form change layout.
    Am I using the wrong event as a trigger or is there a better way to do this?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Richard

    Hi Paul,
    Thanks for another quick reply. I've probably not been clear enough as I don't think that solves my problem. What I want is the fields (3 of them) centered in the subform. What I have is a title at the top of my form, of which the middle part is user-entered and the rest is read only. It reads something like "Project <user entered> Register", where the user enters the project name. The part they enter is expandable so the whole lot needs to be in a flowed subform. What I'm after is how to center the whole content (text, textfield, text) in the middle of the subform. (I actually have it as read-only textfield, textfield, read-only textfield as I've been playing with other properties that didn't work with plain text). Hope that's cleared things up somewhat... and I hope you can help!
    Thanks for your time,
    Richard

  • Form Label Text-Align Center

    I am having troubles aligning the label of my form to center. When the page loads, it looks like it wants to be center aligned, but then aligns to the left. I can't tell which CSS is making it do this. Would you be able to help me narrow it down?
    link is http://www.thelightingpower.com/donate-now

    That is because of the attribute position: absolute; that gets added at runtime with your jQuery custom function.
    To fix, Find this in your custom.js file:
    $('textarea').each(function() {
    if( $(this).val() == ''){
    $("label[for="+$(this).attr("id")+"]").css( "position", "absolute" ).css("z-index", "2");
    }else{
    $("label[for="+$(this).attr("id")+"]").hide('slide', 'fast');
    And replace that chunk of code with this:
    $('textarea').each(function() {
    if( $(this).val() == ''){
    $("label[for="+$(this).attr("id")+"]").css("z-index", "2");
    }else{
    $("label[for="+$(this).attr("id")+"]").hide('slide', 'fast');

    THANKS.
    -L

    I solved this.
    Since I was testing the action code only, I didn't define a navigation entry corresponding to the action string returned for this button:
    <h:commandButton value="Add" style="height:21px; width:51px;font-size:8pt; font-color: black;" action="#{resourceBean.addAction}">
    </h:commandButton>After I added a nav definition, it worked. I don't know why at this point. I suspect a key step in the lifecycle was pre-empted...someone else can probably explain why. If I get a chance to research it after I'm done with my project, I'll update this post.
    Thanks.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 -- keeps printing alignment page

    I was having troubles with the black ink not printing correctly so after doing many cleanings I decieded to manually clean the print head. I took the printhead out of the printer then wipped the part where the ink comes out with a most paper towle. After I put the printhead back in the printer printed a print alignment page. OK. Now when ever I print anything the printer will after the print job is done print another alignment page. Is there a way to make it stop? Thanks for you help.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    @MacNeilBlue- I am sorry that you are having an issue with the alignment page printing repeatedly.  I would remove, and reseat the cartridges. Then I would repeat the alignment process as shown below.
    Open the HP product software:
    Windows XP: Click Start ( ), click All Programs , click HP , click the folder for your HP product, and then click the icon for your HP product ( ).
    Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click the Windows icon ( ), click All Programs , click HP , click the folder for your HP product, and then click the icon for your HP product ( ).
    Windows 8:
    Right-click or tap and hold the lower left corner of the screen, and then click or tap Search from the menu.
    Click or tap Apps ( ) if it is not already selected.
    Type HP in the search box.
    Click or tap your printer ( ).
    NOTE:You can also open the HP product software from your computer desktop: double-click the icon for your HP product ( ).
    The product software opens in a new window.
    In the product software, double-click Printer Actions ( ).
    Double-click Maintenance Tasks ( ). The HP Toolbox opens.
    Click the Device Services tab.
    Click Align Ink Cartridges , and then follow the on-screen instructions to print the alignment page.
    Lift the scanner lid.
    Place the alignment page with the printed-side down on the right front corner of the scanner glass. See the engraved guide next to the scanner glass for help loading the alignment page.
    Figure 6: Place the alignment page on the scanner glass
    Close the scanner lid.
    Press the button next to OK on the control panel display ( ) The product scans the alignment page.
    When the Alignment successful message displays on the control panel screen, press the button next to OK on the control panel display ( ) to complete the alignment.

  • Adobe Form Fields to database (either Excel or Access)

    i have a pdf form created from adobe acrobat XI pro that works perfectly.  When submitted, it emails directly to me, which I manually add to a database file stored in Excel.
    I'm trying to find a simple way to have the data automatically added to an Excel spreadsheet or Access database, or even manually.  So far, I export it to it's own file, then copy/paste into my "database" file in Excel.  The hardest part is aligning the fields if one form has a skipped fields,etc.
    Is there a better option than this PDF form?  I don't want to have to worry about what software others have installed.  But basically I just want the form to populate a database of information via email distribution.
    The form has about 60+ fields for employees that we are hiring with yes/no fields, dates, text, etc.
    Any help is appreciated.  I just need a way to manage the information that has so many hands in it!

    There are many ways of doing it, from fully automated ones to ones that require manual interaction.
    Have you see that there's an option in Acrobat to merge multiple data files into a spreadsheet? You can do that and then import that spreadsheet into your database, either directly (if they have the same columns and structure) or by using a simple macro or script.
    This command is available under Tools - Forms - More Form Options.

  • Button Alignment Issue

    I have some custom buttons added to the sales order screen.  When the font in B1 is set to "10", the buttons show up and are aligned just fine.  When the user changes the font to anything other than "10", the buttons become mis-aligned and moved on the form even though I am setting the "Left" property to be the same for all three of them.
    Also, on some computers, when the user minimizes the sales order form and then restores the form, all items  (even system items) don't resize correctly and the sales order matrix shrinks to about 1/2 the size it was before, leaving a huge empty space on the form.  When the add-on is closed, the issue goes away.  I am not changing any properties on the system items or the form (width, height etc).  I'm just adding three custom buttons and filtering for certain events on the form.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Curtis,
    Did you follow the Standards and Guidelines UI documentation when creating your controls and forms?  I am assuming that you did, but there are specifics with respect to the creation of buttons on forms?  With other add-ons that you have created, have you experienced this issue?

    Rather than reinventing the wheel, I tend to use SpryValidation widgets to validate the form using JavaScript. However, to ensure that no validation is untouched, you also need to validate the inputs using serverside script.
    The example that you have shown is valiadtion in JavaScript. This means that anyone with JS turned off will bypass your validation.

  • SAP script printout alignment issue

    Hi Experts,
    I have facing one Script Printout Alignment issue.
    SAP Script Form printing some Values in Table format.
    While debugging( in debug mode ), I am getting the correct Alignment ( Proper table format with values ).
    But in printout the Alignment( The vertical and horizontal lines are not printed properly ) is not correct.
    Thanks in Advance.

    HI Glen Anthony,
    I am not using any printer details.
    from the Spol (SP01) I am checking the print priview.
    Success in debug mode but not in Print.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
