Allowing user to click check boxes in any order

Hi,
I'm using Captivate 5.5 to create a training session with our software. On a particular page, our trainer wants me to instruct the user to click every check box on a page. Since there are 10 check boxes, I would like to let the user click all the check boxes in any order, as opposed to clicking them in the same order that I did using the normal training recording.
I've been trying to insert click boxes and assign variables, but then I run into the problem of not being able to show the checkmark when the check box is clicked.
Has anyone run into this problem or tried to created a page where the user can click multiple object in no particular order?
Thanks!

Hello,
This is perfectly possible with the checkboxes widget, and will be a lot less work than messing with images and click boxes. The big advantage of the checkboxes widget is that it is static, so you do not need to worry about rewinding the playhead which would be the case if you are working with interactive objects. However if you want to offer a 'reset' to the user, or perhaps to return to the slide with the widget, I warmly recommend to download the free enhanced checkboxes widget created by Jim Leichliter, because it allows you to control the variables associated with the widget.
I will not explain extensively how to use it, bit in a hurry because I have to teach in a couple of minutes. But here are some links: first a link to Jim's widget, than to a blog post where I explain the use of the Default Checkboxes widget, and third the explanation of the enhanced version.
Checkboxes Enhanced
Widgets and Custom Questions - part 1
Extended widgets ...
Just one last warning: I did not check the maximum checkboxes supported by the widget (you need 10), if necessary however you can insert the widget twice. However never duplicate a widget, nor have them in the same space on the stage.

    Hi Gurus....
T'Code FCH6 will allow user to change check info if the check is created manually. But it will not allow check info to be changed if the check is generated from F110. Is there  any mean to protect check info from being changed no matter it is manual or auto check (F110)?
FCH6 is used for bank reconcilation. user need to key in encashment date but not to allow to modify other details e.g. amount, name,....but found for manual check, it allows users to do it so...
Is there any way to restrict the above....

    HI,
The way to restrict the users from changeing the data or restricted access to certain screens or fields or t-codes can be done through Authorization Objects.  Approach your Basis guy to create one for you and you assign this Auth. Object in the user roles. Provide the Basis guy with the fields that you want to restrict. I think this is the only way to restrict the access to certain fields in a screen.

  • Item Partners Check box in Sales Order

    Hi all,
What is the functionality and configuration settings of Item Partners Check box in sales order, partner function tab line item level?
When i find the check box marking then it allows me changes by double clicking of the partner and changing the address, but when the same check box is not marked then it is in dispaly mode when i double click it.
So please suggest me how to control its features.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Cheers,
    Anil.

    Hello,
If this indicator is activated, the partner is validated at item level.
It may happen that in a business transaction the partner in the document header does not apply to all items, for example, if specific goods for a customer are normally delivered to another ship-to party.
In sales documents and billing documents you can enter one of the deviating partners from the document header at item level.
When creating a document , the system copies the document header partners to the items. If you want to define another partner than the one in the document header at item level, overwrite the proposal from the item partner screen.

  • Check box to Work Order to identify that they were generated from PM,Ins,Pr

    Hello,
Would it be possible to add a check box to Work Order to identify that they were generated from PM, inspection or Predictive Maintenance?
How can we configure this and how can we set up to report on this.
    Thanks.

There are many option to identify that order was from PM (which is planned) & corrective work orders.
Set up order types & train user to use specific order types when they build maintenance plan / Item to create work order.
Configure order type 'Define Default Value for Planning Indicator for Each Order Type' so that system knows what is planned & unplanned.
    SAP note for the config:
(Define Default Value for Planning Indicator for Each Order T
In this section, you can define a default value for each order type for the order planning indicator.
The order planning indicator is used for selection and statistical analyses in the Plant Maintenance and Customer Service Information System.
Three order planning indicators are predefined by SAP:
Planned order. You should use this indicator for order types, for which tasks can be anticipated.
Unplanned order. You should use this indicator for order types, for which the task cannot be anticipated, but also need not be performed immediately.
Immediate order. You should use this indicator for order types, for which the necessity of the task cannot be anticipated, but where the task must be performed immediately.)
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Is there a way to automatically add a page to my current form when the user marks the check box?

I have an existing expense report form that I created using Adobe Pro's Form Tools. The user enters all the appropriate information (ie, vendor, amount, business justification, etc.) and then it calculates all the expenses at the bottom.
I have added a box next to each line item to be checked by the user in the case that they have an expense with a missing receipt.
Is there a way to have a pre-existing missing receipt form, be added at the end of the expense report, each time the user marks one of these missing receipt check boxes?
If so, is there a way to have all the expense line item data automatically fill in the information on the added missing receipt form?
I am using Adobe Pro's Form tool rather than Livecycle because it is compatible with my IPAD.
    Thanks,

  • Generate DP BOM check box without any description - /SAPAPO/CURTO_GEN_DP

I am using APO 5.1.  In transaction /SAPAPO/CURTO_GEN_DP, there is a checkbox that is blank right below the "Expl. Thanks for any insight,

    Hi Brian,

  • "S" check box in sales order

    Hi:
When I am entering the material in the item of sales order, the S check box(beside order quantity column) automatically checked, and there is no delivery data/material available data/loading data popped up in the line item, but the mrp setting of the material looks good, what's happening?

    Dear Allen,
The 'S' check box is marked in following two cases:
    1. If there are more than 1 Schedule Lines for the item
    2. If the Confirmed quantity is less than Order Quantity.
As in your case there is no Delivery data in Lilne Item, it means the entire Quantity is not Confirmed. Kindly check whether there are adequate stock in the system & MRP settings.
    Hope this helps. .

  • Using Cap6, need to create menu screen that allows user to click a button, branch to other screens, and return to main menu. When returning to the main screen the button that was clicked will be grayed out or inactive.  How do I do this?  I created image

I am trying to emulate a piece of equipment.  I need the user to be able to click on specific buttons that will take the user to another screen(s).  After viewing those screens the user will be directed back to the main screen where the user would know which buttons had been pressed and which still needed to be pressed.  I create image buttons with the 3 states - that worked except when the user returns the slide is reset and so the user does not see the 3rd state of the button.  How can I get that 3rd state to stay after user returns to the main screen?

    Hi Elizabeth,
Since I just did this morning what you are currently attempting to do, I thought I'd share my method.  I must provide a disclaimer and tell you that I am not an expert in Captivate advanced actions--like you, I am still figuring them out.  However, I am happy to share here anything I have learned thus far.
First, here is what my initial slide looks like (see interaction slide below).  I created all of the icons (including the 'grayed out' icon on the second screenshot) in a few minutes using Adobe Illustrator. The icons have been imported as custom multi-state buttons so that I could have the desired effect when the user hovers over the image--the yellow 'explore' flag appears only when the mouse is over the icon. When the learner click either image, they are sent to the corresponding slide.  Once both slides are viewed, a 'continue' button will appear at the base of the screen (something I've not figured out--I sent an email to Lieve begging for some guidance).
    The initial slide (interaction slide):
Second, here is a depiction of what happens when the learner returns to the interactive slide from the content slide (see image below):  Once the learner visits the 'Battery Content' slide and then returns to the interaction slide, the images have changed.  The multi-state button is hidden (through the advanced action), the replacement image (the image with the completed banner over it) is shown, and a hidden click box to allow the user to return to the previously visited page (just in case they desire to do that) is "shown" to allow navigation since the button is no longer there (because it is magically hidden).
    Content Slide 1:
Remember, there may be an easier way to do this in Captivate.  I am using Cp6 for this module.
    1. I created two user variables as follows
    Name: v_batteryExplore
    Value: 0
    Name: v_fuelExplore
    Value: 0
    2. I created an advanced action for each as shown below (showing only one--duplicate the first and change the names to match the content):
Credit: I learned these steps from @Lilibiri and Dr. Pooja Jaisingh!
I have also noticed that it matters where the buttons are located on the timeline.  It seems best to have buttons above all other content.  Not sure why, but I have had images not appear when I have not done this.
And the last step you do not want to forget; you need to remember to tell Captivate to use the action.
As a final note, remember that the elements you do not want to appear on the initial screen must not be initially visible.  Make sure to set them to invisible by removing the checkmark in the 'Visible in output' box located next to the button name.  In my case, the image of the completed battery and the invisible button to allow a revisit of content was initially hidden.  Here is a final screenshot of my timeline for this interaction.  I hope this information helps you!
