Alternate option for Get_Application_Property(PASSWORD)

Hi All,
Here is the problem i am facing.
The current business process in our application is running through forms and is carried out manually by the user. This process involves the generation of reports (pdf format) during the process. so the connect string for running reports is passed using the forms built-in
get_application_property(username)/get_application_property(password)@get_application_property(connect_string).
Now since the requirement is to covert this business process to a batch job, that is entirely through backend, I’m not sure how to get the user password using pl/sql to pass as parameter to run the reports.
I have browsed the net for a possible solution, but couldn’t find anything useful.
Can anyone please suggest any approach for this?

Capture login credentials with Forms 6i.

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...

Configuring Bypass Option for Logon Password

Hi friends,
I'm using a PocketPC with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and follow the steps described in this <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/0358852b785171e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm">Help</a> to bypass local logon screen.
This document says that with this configuration the "logon of the user onto the OS is sufficient by SAP MI", but I read the Windows 2003 Mobile SE help and did not found any way to configure a user.
Can anyone help me?

I did the configuration and created a single local user, but the MI client still asking for a logon and password. Bellow is a copy of my MobileEngine.config file.

Alternate option for having 2 Controlling Areas

Hi Experts,
Please analyse the below business requirement and provide your valuable feedback.
Currently the business side has only one Controlling Area -1000 and all reports are built off of the Controlling Area and
not Company code. Also, all consolidated Company codes roll up to the Controlling Area 1000. Now business want's 2 different reports for there 2 major business lines. And there is no way to run a report for those 2 business lines.
Is it advisable to have 2 diffrent controlling areas. In my opinion it should not be advised and its not a best practise.
Any other way to fulfill the reporting requirement by having current controlling area only?
Can Version design be of use in this scenario ? If yes kindly throw some light on version control as well.

Hi Ajay,
If the Business is vertical you can define two controlling areas
Example:
Constructions
Telecom
Trading
Manufacturing etc...
If not you can difine Company codes/Plants would be better.

TS1398 I cannot start to use my new ipad mini as it is stuck at the very first step after restoring my old backup. It says to choose a wifi, I do and then it says 'Unable to connect' There is no options for a password and I cannot access any other screen!

I have tried going past the first set up stage, still with no wifi. I have then tried restoring the ipad mini, still no wifi available. Both my ipone and Apple Mac have wifi full bars. Please help. I only picked up my new ipad today. I am thinking it may be faulty.

It may be faulty but you should try to activate it first in order to be sure.
Why don't you activate it using iTunes on the Mac and then troubleshoot the WiFi connection. Connect the Mini to the Mac with the cable and iTunes should startup and take you through activation. If you do not autosync and iTunes des not start up on it's own, then launch it yourself.

External Fiber Channel Raid options for New Xserve besides Promise V-Trak

I was wondering if anyone out there knows if there is an alternate option for a External Raid that can be hooked up via 4gb Fiber Channel to my new Xserve. I am really looking for a more cost efficient one than the 12K Promise set up from Apple. My Technology vendor was telling me that you have to use the Promise Raid as it is the only one that a Xserve will control due to Apple's licensing of its drivers etc. for its Fiber channel. Something tells me that this is not true.
Anyone have any recomendations for a Fiber channel Raid solution in the 6K dollar range?

Find another vendor. Anyone that tells you the Promise is the only RAID that will work clearly doesn't understand the market.
As for recommendations, you need to include some idea of capacity, either usable or raw. I can find you a lot of options for $6K if you want a 100GB of data. Not so many if you want 100TB.

I believe the issue is with the Apple ID that was used to purchase the App. If you download an App that was purchased under a different Appple ID then all updates will also be linked to the original purchaser's Apple ID. Your Apple ID is the the same ID as your iTunes, iCloud, etc. Some folks use different ID for the different Apple sites. No need for that One ID for all Apple Sites, and if someone else buys an App using their ID and they(you) download that App onto your device and that App requires an update it will ask for the purchasers Apple ID. This happens a lot when folks sell their iPad or give it to someone else and leave some purchased(free) Apps on the iOS device. You cannot change the original ID the App was purchased under. A suggestion would be if someone else has an App that you like but do not want to pay for use their ID or in the future have them gift the App to you.

Default option for password in UME

Is there a way that when we create new users in UME, that the default option for password management is set to "Disabled Password" in stead of "Define Initial Password".
We are using SPML SOAP message to create the users and if there is no password in the SPML messgae, the user is created, but no logon is possible as the system expects that you should have a password.
We will like to avoid sending in the password as part of user creation process, as these users will have to be created with no password. These users will never do a basis authentication, but are needed for SSO using HTTP header variable..

On the ABAP side this is possible, so I would expect the Java APIs to offer the same.
Looking in the PASSWORD structure is the wrong place, try the LOGONDATA (if it is done the same way). If you activate it in the call it should delete the PASSWORD regardless.
Sorry, I have an ABAP mentality... but consistent APIs make it easier (to have to understand less concepts) and SAP increasingly does this.

Sign out and back into your apple id from Settings>iTunes and App stores>(Your apple ID)>Sign Out and then sign in again with the new address. Close app store from running in the background (or restart the phone if your unsure how to do this). If when trying to update any apps they are still asking for the old apple ID, delete and re-install those apps.

I can't remember the password I used when I did a "backup to computer". Does this mean that my only option for backing up my iphone from now on is using the cloud? #I've tried any PW i can recall ever using, I must have gotten creative darn it.#

No option to set password for login

my macbook doesn't ask me for my password when i log on, and when i go to my system preferences and go under security, there is no option for me to set the password, that is, there is no button to click that allows me to disable automatic login. help?

Password options are under Accounts (not security). Select the user and then click on login options.

I need a big favour, I am trying to map serach string with internal order, my search string is MV-38610573 which I have mapped with posting rule 'GENT' which debits bank account and credit revanue accounts but this revanue account requires assignment with internal order, so I have created another 3 search string with same search string 'MV-38610573' and mapped with BSEG-ASUFNR,60000LC ( internal order),3 (bdc account type) respectively, also maintained three entries in search string use which is for BDC FIELD NAME1, BDC FIELD VALUE 1 & BDC ACCOUNT TYPE 1,
But this is not working it gives me following error,

Can't Send Exchange Email, No Options for SMTP Username/Password

I haven't been able to send outgoing messages with my iPhone 4 and my work Exchange account. Other people at my office that have iPhones with ATT are able to do it, but I get a message about "Cannot Send Mail" The connection to the outgoing server XXX failed. Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
I've looked in the account settings and there isn't anywhere to input SMTP server credentials. Am I just missing it? I see everyone mention it in the forums, but when I go to the Account Info screen, all I see is:

Server___________
Domain___________
Username___________
Password___________
Description___________
Use SSL - ON
