  • How to export to excel only items filtered on my view

In my specific list, I filtered to a account we are going to pay.  Then when I click on "Export to Excel" button all the items of the list gets exported. How would I export data that I want?
Example: Because we cannot filter on the JPP number, we first filter on area = Northeast then filter on Muni = Granville T & V then filter on JPP # 801000024716  then I go to list and click on xport to xcel.... it takes about a minute then we get
a list of many, many jpps.... not just the one.
Our hope was to export to excel the info on the view and just give it to the billing clerk so she can pay the bill using the view info.

While not as nice as a one click export, the following will work fairly quickly...
    Display the list.
Click the LIST tab and click Quick Edit.
    Filter the list.
Select the range and press Ctrl-C.
    Open Excel and paste.
Over your hoped for steps, this adds on the ribbon click and then a copy and paste. And if you don't need Excel for other reasons, this pastes very nicely into an email.
You could also create a Quick Edit view and save the ribbon clicks.

I'm trying to export Serial Number Transaction Report to excel in a client database (SP00 PL47). Basically, the report has two screen, the Serial Number (Top) and Transactions for Serial Number (Bottom). When I try to export it, it only export the Transaction for Serial Number. We Need the serial number to be exported, how do we go about this? I tested same database on SP01 PL07 and exported the Serial Number and  Transactions for Serial Number. Why is it working in other database, do we have settings that we need to configure?
    Regards,
    Sai

    Hi Don,
In the serial number transaction report, when you click on the excel tab the Save as window will open just cancel the first window there is onther window opened, just save that window under the other name e.g. 123.
because both the window has same name.
    Then check the excel file.

  • Export to Excel is not working for List View Web Part after filtering using Query String parameters in SharePoint 2010

    Hi,
I am filtering SharePoint list view web part based on Query string parameter and I am doing Export to Excel by using following code.
    <a href="#" onclick="javascript:window.location='../_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List=0DC67399-BE11-48F3-ADFC-E911FB8B5845&View=54671412-3EFE-4281-835A-9EF747AE774E&CacheControl=1'"><img

Issue: Able to do Export to Excel when there are no filters applied on list view web part but if applied filters on web part and do export to excel , only header fields are displaying in the excel sheet.
I don't know why owssvr.dll is behaving like that .
    Please share your ideas.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create hyperlink to export to excel.
The URL to execute the export is as follows:
    {Site URL}/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List={List GUID}&View={View GUID}&CacheControl=1
After getting the GUID, you  need to “decode” the list GUID.
    Replace %7B with {
    Replace %2D with –
    Replace %7D with }

I am totally stumped by what you described.
I created a document with a header containing "my header" and a footer containing the date, the page num and the page count.
    I exported it as XL.
    I got this warning:
then, I opened the .xls file in openOffice and got, i preview mode:
As you can see, the header and the footer are correctly exported. What is missing are fonts, colors … whose dropping is clearly announced in the warning.

  • SSRS 2012 - Groups in Report Manager aren't present when exported to Excel

Hi all, hope somebody can help with this issue, as I cant seem to find any other posts about it
I have a report in SSRS2012. It was copied from SSRS2005 quite recently, as we have upgraded. The SQL developer said that it didn't need any code changes, as he had some kind of tool to test code problems between the two versions.
The report has a table, with 5 row groups, and one detail row. The table is setup as follows:
    Name                                         Sales
    Costs       Profit
    Group1
       Group2
          Group3
             Group4
                Group5
                   DetailsRow
When I run this report using the Report Manager website from SSRS2005, and then export to Excel 2013, I get the 6 row groups in Excel, no problem whatsoever. I can drill into each group in Excel, using the group drilldown column on the left hand side. This
works the same as the Report Manager website.
If I run the exact same report from the Report Manager website in SSRS2012, the Report Manager result is the same as SSRS2005 - all the row groups are present, and the drilldown works fine. However, the export to Excel has issues with the groups. There are
only 3 row groups showing in Excel, along with a column group added for no apparent reason. Drilling into each group shows inconsistent details, and there is no apparent logic as to what is shown within each group.
Hopefully, someone has seen this issue before, and can help, because I have no idea what to do, having spent a couple of days trying to figure it out. I should also mention, that this issue with groups is seen on all my reports which have groups, not just
    this report
Thanks for any and all help
    Naz

    Hi Naz,
According to your description, the report works correctly in SSRS 2005 while the same report doesn’t work in SSRS 2012 when exporting to a Excel file.
In your scenario, please make sure you are migrating the report from SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2012 instead of copying the .rdl directly. Generally, we are using Reporting Services Migration Tool to migrate reports between report server. Please refer to this article:
SQL Server Reporting Services: Migrating SSRS reports, data sources and subscriptions from one server to another.
After migrating the report successfully, you should upgrade the report definition in SQL Server Data Tools to upgrade the .rdl file. Please refer to this article:
    Upgrade Reports.
If you have upgraded the report but the issue still persists, please provide report design for our analysis. If possible, please provide some screenshots about the preview result and Excel render result.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Export to Excel Action in MS SSRS Report not exporting all data in Report

    Hi,
I have developed a complex Report that has many expandable nodes in a table format. The report works fine.
However, when I export the Report to Excel using Actions --> export to Excel, only the data in expanded nodes is included. The data in collapsed nodes is not included.
I am looking for approach to include data in expanded nodes in Excel Export. The expanded data can be expanded in Excel.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

    Hi Abhijit PS,
Per my understanding you are experiencing the issue with the excel report which have add the drill down action, after export to excel only the expanded nodes included and the collapsed nodes is not shown, right?
Generally, if we expand the nodes before export to excel then the excel will display the expanded details row and keep collapsed the details row which haven't expand, but we have the toggle "+","-" on the left of the Excel to help
control the expand and collapse, when you click the "+" you can expand the collapsed notes to see the details rows.
I have tested on my local environment with different version of SSRS and can always see the "+","-" as below:
On the Top left corner you can find the "1","2", this help to control the "Collapse All" and "Expand All".
If you can't see the "+","-" in the excel, the issue can be caused by the Excel version you are currently using, and also excel have limit support of this, please provide us the Excel version information and the SSRS version. You

  • Discoverer Plus4i - Exporting to Excel - Your server is running low

We are currently running Discoverer Plus 4i.
We have a couple of large reports that we want to export to Excel.
We retrieve the report and then carry out the 'Export to Excel' action. The export starts to run but during the 'sort' phase we are getting the error "Your server is running low on virtual memory".
The largest report is currently retrieving about 64K rows but will grow by at least another 20K.
I appreciate we could restrict the retrieval through parameters but we were wondering if anyone had encountered this before and if there are any solutions out there.

    Hi,
Any chance any of your items are created using custom functions/packages that return varchar's? If so, check you max char fetched (admin edition - properties tab, each item in folder(s) used by the report). The columns created by custom functions/packages will probably be 4000 characters. Excel doesn't like this. This also slows down your report. Wrap your custom function call in a substr and reduce to the correct size. This might fix your problem.
If you don't use custom functions/packages in this report, oh well, just a thought.
    Regards,
    Nancy
