• ALV-Grid:  Is it possible to catch "LOCAL Function Codes" in any Event ??

Hi,
is it possible that i can catch a "Local Function Code" in ALV Grid with an Event??
For example if you click to an Grid Button on the toolbar than it must call an Event!
..........BUTTON: Local APPEND (existing in ALV Toolbar)
Function Code: '&LOCAL&APPEND'
My Idea is:
--- IF i click to the Button "Local APPEND" in the ALV toolbar, than it must after this command give me an Message( "It was Successfull" ).
But the "Local Function Codes" dont called the Event "User_command" OR "After_user_command" is there any other Event for this "Local Function Codes"???
Have anyone an idea?
Thanks in forward.

• ALV Grid row selection possible options

Hello Experts,
I have an ALV Grid output with rows color codes based on certain status for each rows.Now when the user selects one or more lines to do the next process, what happens now as sap standard is the selected lines becomes highlighted ( kind of yellowish) and the selection button gets pressed.
But what the user is requesting is ,lets say he selects one blue and another red line, then both becomes yellow (because of the SAP standard highlighting) ...he would like those line colors to be still red and blue and only the selection button pressed.
Is there a way to do that is ALV grid? I'm trying to convince him to look at the status colum if he gets confused with what colors he selected or I will have to use a checkbox field as the first column and and hide the ALV selection option.
But was curious to find if this is possible in ALV?Or any other suggestions to handle this requirement is welcome.
Mat

Hi Mat,
I am curious if your user is so arogant when he buys a car too. Does he say to dealer "Sorry I don't want this gear lever to be placed here and here, I want it a litte bit higher. Can you please fix that?". This sounds like you are struggling with dumb user. I have never heard of someone complaining that the standard highlight is in wrong color. You already provided to him row colors, right? I think most of the users would be hugging you for such facilities.
I think in your case as the user is inalterable you should go for the checkboxes as you say. This way maybe you will somehow satisfy his needs (as the row colors will be kept even during selection). Personally I wouldn't bother such requirements. As long as the program reports correct data, he should not complain at all.
Good luck then
Marcin

• Alv grid background column headings

HI EVERYONE,
I was able to execute the ALV grid report in background .But columns heading is reeating for
each page.
Can't we just just have the Column Headings once for all pages.?

For the IS_LAYOUT parameter it is possible to set NO_COLHEAD = 'X'. Then the header is gone. Then you have to create first line in table with texts. But then all fields must be character fields.

Roy

Hi,
Quick one is here, (You can search for more threads on this, there's lot more info on SDN on this topic)
It would be a hotspot like this:
fieldcat-fieldname = 'CHAR'.
fieldcat-hotspot = 'X'.           " Add in Field catlog
then add this in you call to AlV Grid (exporting parmeter):
i_callback_user_command = 'USER_COMMAND'
Create  new Subroutine:
FORM user_command USING r_ucomm       LIKE sy-ucomm
                            rs_selfield   TYPE slis_selfield.
" rs_selfield-tabindex field will give you index clicked,
ENDFORM.
Cheers!

• ALV Grid data changed

Hello;
i am using fm REUSE_ALV_GRID (not OO) to display an internal table. The user wants to change the data in a certain cell. I have marked this cell as editable and it works fine. I want to learn what to check in the event of data_changed. I have added this event in table ALV_EVENTS and directed to a subroutine. What parameters should i pass to the subroutine and what should i check to read the relevant line? Is it possible to control changes in more than one line?
Thx
Ali

<i>Is it possible to control changes in more than one line?</i>
yes.
for usage of the method, and editable grid please refer the sample code.

Hi
Give this code for field DMBTR in fielcatalog.
wa_fieldcatalog-FIELDNAME = 'DMBTR'.
wa_fieldcatalog-INTTYPE = 'C'.
wa_fieldcatalogT-DO_SUM = 'X'.
APPEND wa_fieldcatalog TO it_fieldcatalog.
CLEAR wa_fieldcatalog.
It will work definitely.
If you still have doubts then revert back.
Thanks & Regards

• Position button at the end of ALV grid

Hi,
I have a requirement to place position button (like in OB52 or any table/view maintenance ) to search and position the record on the top of list. I have placed the position pushbutton with function code and have called TABLE_GET_KEY_TO_SET_CUR_ROW for the input . My alv grid doesn't show the toolbar till the records cross one page. can you please suggest 1- how to make the scrollbar visible always ? 2- How to make the position button work as in tables for ALV grid?
Regards,
Garima

I have created the pushbutton in the same screen as container and assigned a function code. I have put this logic in user-command for this button and refreshed display. But it doesn't work, moreover the scrollbar is not visible if the records are less than one page.

• How to use ALV Grid?

Hi,
I am totally new to ALV Grids. Could you give a full example of creating a ALV Grid with 2 columns, thinking there is a internal table itab with itab-col1 & itab-col2. Please start from initialising variables and onwards.
Thanks,
Kishan

Hi,
Simple example of how to implement an ALV grid
Note that this example uses table ZSFLIGHT. The table is equivalent to the table SFLIGHT.
Steps:
1.        Create an executable program (Report)
2.        Create a screen (100) and place a custom container named ALV_CONTAINER on the screen
3.        Create a Pushbutton. Give it the text Exit and the functioncode EXIT
REPORT sapmz_hf_alv_grid .
TABLES: zsflight.
G L O B A L   I N T E R N  A L   T A B L E S
DATA: gi_sflight TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF sflight.
G L O B A L   D A T A
DATA: ok_code LIKE sy-ucomm,
g_wa_sflight LIKE sflight.
Declare reference variables to the ALV grid and the container
DATA:

START-OF-SELECTION.
SET SCREEN '100'.

MODULE user_command_0100 INPUT.
CASE ok_code.
WHEN 'EXIT'.
LEAVE TO SCREEN 0.
ENDCASE.
ENDMODULE.                 " USER_COMMAND_0100  INPUT

MODULE status_0100 OUTPUT.
Create objects
IF go_custom_container IS INITIAL.
CREATE OBJECT go_custom_container
EXPORTING container_name = 'ALV_CONTAINER'.
CREATE OBJECT go_grid
EXPORTING
      i_parent = go_custom_container.
PERFORM load_data_into_grid.
ENDIF.
ENDMODULE.                 " STATUS_0100  OUTPUT

FORM load_data_into_grid.
Read data from table SFLIGHT
SELECT *
FROM zsflight
INTO TABLE gi_sflight.
Load data into the grid and display them
CALL METHOD go_grid->set_table_for_first_display

Allow the user to save and reuse the layout
A button can be shown on the grid toolbar, allowing the user to save and reuse a layout. The button looks like this:
See also example in SAP standard program BCALV_GRID_09.
To do this use the parameters IS_VARIANT and I_SAVE of the set_table_for_first_display method. Note that the IS_VARIANT
parameter must have the structure DISVARIANT.
The I_SAVE "Options for saving layouts" parameter can have the following values:
·        U Only user specific layouts can be saved
·        X Only global layouts can be saved
·        A Both user specific and global layouts can be saved
·        Space Layouts can not be saved
Add the following code to the example:
FORM load_data_into_grid.
DATA:
      For parameter IS_VARIANT
l_layout TYPE disvariant.
Code..........
Load data into the grid and display them
l_layout-report = sy-repid.
CALL METHOD go_grid->set_table_for_first_display
EXPORTING i_structure_name = 'SFLIGHT'
         is_variant       = l_layout
         i_save           = 'A'
CHANGING  it_outtab        = gi_
Integrate user defined functions in the grid toolbar
Possibilities:
·        Replace existing functions in the toolbar or context men with user defined functions
·        Add new functions to the toolbar or context menu
Note that the whole toolbar can be removed using the IT_TOOLBAR_EXCLUDING parameter of the set_table_for_first_display
method.
See also example in SAP standard program BCALV_GRID_05

The structure lvc_s_layo contains fields for setting graphical properties, displaying exceptions, calculating totals and enabling specific
interaction options.
Fill the apporpiate fields of structure lvc_s_layo and insert it as a parameter in the CALL METHOD
go_grid->set_table_for_first_display. See the example under Set the title of the grid.
If you want to change apperance after list output, use the methods get_frontend_layout and set_frontend_layout.
Examples of fields in structure lvc_s_layo:
GRID_TITLE Setting the title of the grid
SEL_MODE. Selection mode, determines how rows can be selected. Can have the following values:
·        A Multiple columns, multiple rows with selection buttons.
·        B Simple selection, listbox, Single row/column
·        C Multiple rows without buttons
·        D Multiple rows with buttons and select all ICON
Setting and getting selected rows (Columns) and read line contents
You can read which rows of the grid that has been selected, and dynamic select rows of the grid using methods get_selected_rows
and set_selected_rows. There are similar methods for columns.
Note that the grid table always has the rows in the same sequence as displayed in the grid, thus you can use the index of the selected
row(s) to read the information in the rows from the table. In the examples below the grid table is named gi_sflight.
Data declaration:
DATA:

• Way to get alv grid varients info during background execution

I have used the function module 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_LAYOUT_INFO_GET' to get info alv grid varients i.e already created layout info. Is there any other way of getting this info as this is not giving the exact layout during background execution.

Hi Vijaya,
It should work. I am giving you a sample code. Try this and let me know.
REPORT TEST.
data gt_lfa1 type standard table of lfa1.
data gt_kna1 type standard table of kna1.
start-of-selection.
      select * from lfa1 into table gt_lfa1 up to 10 rows.
      select * from kna1 into table gt_kna1 up to 20 rows.
end-of-selection.
      if sy-batch eq 'X'.
        perform display_lfa1.
        perform display_kna1.
      endif.
form display_lfa1 .
      call function 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY'
        exporting
          i_callback_program = sy-repid
          i_structure_name   = 'LFA1'
        tables
          t_outtab           = gt_lfa1
        exceptions
          program_error      = 1
          others             = 2.
      if sy-subrc <> 0.
        message id sy-msgid type sy-msgty number sy-msgno
                with sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
      endif.
endform.                    " DISPLAY_LFA1
form display_kna1 .
      call function 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY'
        exporting
          i_callback_program = sy-repid
          i_structure_name   = 'KNA1'
        tables
          t_outtab           = gt_kna1
        exceptions
          program_error      = 1
          others             = 2.
      if sy-subrc <> 0.
        message id sy-msgid type sy-msgty number sy-msgno
                with sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
      endif.
endform.                    " DISPLAY_KNA1
copy and paste the code and create a program. Activate it and come back to SE38 screen.
Now, in program name give the name of the report created and then
select PROGRAM->EXECUTE->BACKGROUND from the MENU bar.
This will generate two separate spools . One for KNA1 data & one for LFA1 data.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Abhishek

• Anything other than buttons on ALV Grid toolbar?

Does anyone know if anything other than buttons can be placed on a ALV Grid toolbar, eg. a piece of text or an input field? The filter button for data selection may be too cumbersome/slow for a call centre operator; I want to have a display field with a dropdown identifying a data field and an input field to accept a value on which to select.

may be you can do some thing like this..instead of having a input field on the toolbar. have an input field above the ALV grid(this is applicable only when you are using Object Oriented ALV).
input field : ________________
__________________________________
ALV GRID OUTPUT
__________________________________
you can have a button along with input field also. enter the value in it, and press enter . in the enter handling fetch all the data. and display in the ALV grid.
in the screen fiest create input field, and button, then place the custom control. on the custom control you place the grid.

THANKS,
RANI.

hey rani,
ya it is possible just define f4 help and hotspot independently in program itself, in program define search help for which field you want to make searh help and also provide hotspot condition with that field itself ok, if it is helpfull reward.

• ALV Grid Output to PDF

Hi All,
I have a report which displays the output in ALV Grid. I need to create a PDF from ALV output when the user clicks on a button. Using FM 'CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF' i am able to acheive this.
But, as per my requirement if the user does any layout changes in the ALV output ( E.g. Sorting, Sub totaling ), it need to be captured and displayed in the PDF. Can you please tell me how can i get the values of changed ALV Grid Layout at the runtime?
Thanks & Regards,
Senthil.

Hi,
1) Get the Print parameters using this function GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS
2) Set the print parameters using the statement: NEW-PAGE PRINT ON PARAMETERS print_parameters NO DIALOG.
3) Generate the ALV Output using "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY"
4)  NEW-PAGE PRINT OFF.
5) Get the Spool request id from tsp01 using the user id and client
6) Pass the Spool id to the FM: CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF
7) Then, Use the function "GUI_DOWNLOAD" to download the generated PDF.
Thanks & Regrads,
Senthil.
