AMC PO for an Asset

Dear Experts,
We are a mining company, where we have lot of Vehicles and Equipments (ASSETS) which are under AMC.
We have individual ASSET CODEs for each Asset.
In the AMC PO, we want to mention ASSET CODE of the Asset, so that, the system to notify (waring/error message) if AMC is accidentally created more than once, for the same ASSET CODE for the same duration.
Or it may also happen that, we may prepare AMC PO for which ASSET does not actually exist (it would have been sold/scrapped).
Please suggest how to make above control.

    Hi,
    I understand when we create a asset master, the number of life years and the depreciation key are copied from the asset class it belongs to.
    However, the finance side requires to pause depreciation for a asset, or they could want to stop depreciation for this asset, and how do we go about doing it? The situation now is that this asset already have depreciation posted.

    You can use the asset shutdown functionality so you can pause the depreciation for a given period of time.
    AS02 > Time dependent tab , click the asset shutdown. In case asset shutdown is not available, check spro and customise fixed asset master data.

  • SRM 7.0 - Can't Create a shopping cart for an Asset

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a SC with account assignment Asset in SRM 7.0, extended classic.
    Once I change the Account Assignment Category to Asset and I search for the asset number I receive the following message.
    Missing Authorization check to display master data.
    The user ID has SAPALL, also communication between R3 4.7 and SRM is working fine for vendors, PO's, Confirmations, Invoices, material groups, etc....so the system users would appear to be working ok I assume.
    Also, if I click the Create Asset Master button on the detailed account assignment screen it is not able to generate/retrieve an asset number as it should.
    Any ideas?  The account assignment configuration should be fine, it matches our production SRM 3.0 system, which has no issue with this functionality.

    It seems that the table does not have the entries, maybe b/c we are on R3 4.7.  Could you tell me what the entries are suppossed to be to allow the Asset and Cost Center lookup?  The search does work for WBS element though and I don't see anything specific to WBS element in that table.  In any case if you know the entries that would be great, also this table is not modifiable via SM30, here are the entries that I have in that table.

    In case of asset - we define account determination in asset master which is like stock account for material. But if you use purchase order then for asset you use account assignment category as A - it means it is like account assigned purchase order. So all goods reciept credit on these POs will go to GR/IR account created without valuation class. Same time if you donot maintain service masters then goods receipt will go to same account (no valuation class). So either you need to define service materials or use same account for both.

  • Excise Accounting document not generated for Imported Asset GR

    Dear all,
    Excise accounting document is not generated for imported asset goods receipt(MIGO)
    but "C" Register part 2 no. is generated,usual accounting document is generated for GR,
    Asset is Dr to GR/IR
    Process is
    1. Create asset purchase order with acct. assignment "A",
    2. Customs miro based on p.o.
    3. Do GR with excise
    4. Post invoice for orginal vendor.
    What will be cause of this problem ?
    How to solve this issue ?

    The above issue may be due to Accout assignmnet -A . Check your accout assignment  in spro -mm-purchasing -accout assignment - Asset A - GR Non valuated has Ticked on . If it is ticked on - No Fi entry will happen at the Time of GR .
    The reason being , if an FI entry happen for the first time , asset is capitalised . To avoid this GR is made in ur config as this .

  • HOW TO CHANGE THE USEFUL LIFE FOR MORE ASSETS AT A TIME FOR ASSET CLASS

    Hi All,
    Asset which is under Asset Class Support system-B700. Here every thing is ok but the problem in USE FULL LIFE which is come by default. It must be 4 instead of  5.   So can any body help me out from this how to change the Useful life in that Asset class.  In that Asset Class we have the morethan 200 Assets. It was happend in Prdocution system so now the problem is where i can change the useful life for the asset class either in DEV or PRD.
           Also i want to know the information of How these assets are Uploaded into the system (Lsmw or etc). this is very urgent for me.

  • Error occured while doing depreciation for an asset

    Hi,
    I could running the depreciation for an asset in AFAB t-code.
    The msg is ""Testrun Completed successfully" and "No document were created for this run". I have purchased the asset for the month of April and wanted to run the depreciation for that month.
    Please Advice.

    Dear Bnoy,
    If you look at the message itself saying Testrun completed successfully. So mean you are runnning depreciation posting program in TEST RUN mode, so it is understood not to post any document in system in real time and if any error occurs must show in simulation mode.
    If you dont found any error in TEST RUN, next running time remove TEST RUN and execute the same again, here at this time system will post the document and asset explorer will get updated with posted values.
    I hope this will help you to understand depreciation posting functionality, and you will be able to overcome the facing issue.

  • Creating a Purchase Order for the Asset

    Please see the following steps:
    1.Create a purchase order for the asset.
    2. Post a goods receipt from this PO.
    3. Quantity of asset will be transfered from goods receipt.
    But I find quantity of asset(AS02) was not be transfered and still was equal to 0.

    see the field status varient for the gl account see the qty field is optional field or not
    and check in the asset group also qty field is the optional field

  • Create new Equipment (t-code IE01) for existing asset

    HI Expert,
    I have an enquiry on equipment creation via t-code IE01 for existing asset. There are synchronization between Asset Master and Equipment Master which mean both sides will be updated during the creation and changes of master data.
    I have create new equipment master via t-code IE01 and has tagged to the existing asset. However after save the creation, new inventory number was generated to the asset master and had overwrite the existing inventory no. Is it because of the synchronization or it is a system standard?

    My configuration is "Direct Synchronization After Saving" for both master data (asset master & equipment master).
    However, I did not assign the Inventory No Field in asset master as a synchronization with equipment master, so how come system can re-generate new inventory no and overwrite the existing inventory no in the asset master? and what the solution if we do not want system re-generate new inventory no in asset master since it has been effected on the printing barcode sticker for the asset.

  • Calculation of Depreciation for Group Asset

    Hi Experts,
    I am getting a problem while doing depreciation for group asset
    Ex:  80,000;  Rate 10%
    total depreiaiton p.a is Rs 8000/-
    as per the Indian standards if it is below 180 days it should take Rs 4000/-, but in my system it is showing Rs 3333.33
    my depreciation start date & capitlization date is 01.11.2007.

    Looking at your Questions let us take explanation for Group Assets :-
    1 ) We need to create new different asset class for Group Class in OAOA. Then permit the depreciation area for only Group Asset in OAYM as it is in your current scenario India  is Depreciation Area 15 Just select your company code in OAYM and check the Grp Asset field for respective area 15. Then go to OAAX here we have to maintain the assets classes particularly for Group Assets. So check your Group Asset classes for Group Assets. Cerate different Group asset classes for your said requirement.
    In these depreciation areas, it is then possible to make an assignment to a group asset.  You make this assignment in the specifications for the depreciation area in the asset master record.  When you post an acquisition to this kind of asset, the system duplicates the line items from this depreciation area on the given group asset.
    2 ) According to me you have to create different depreciation keys for Group Asset classes. Assign the Depreciation keys to your newly created Group Asset Classes in OAYZ and make sure you are deactivating 01 area which is Book Depreciation area.
    3 ) As far as I know this is the only functionality available to handle Group Assets. How ever SAP does not have any standard Group Assets functionality. SAP does not supply asset classes to be used solely for group assets. It is we have to determine as per varying Business Process.
    I hope this will clear your doubt makes you to understand. Please revert back for further clarification. Welcome you.

  • Year end closing for fixed asset

    Hi,
         Currently we run the process AJAB to close the year for fixed assets at the end of the year and can close two years back.  So in September 07 I would have closed 2006, then run AJRW to open 2008.
    So it is my understanding that we can only have two years open and we have in the past had the current year and one year back.  Do you know why we do this, why don’t we have the current year and one year forward?
    There has been a request to close 2007 for fixed assets, if I do this, will this cause any problems?

    If u close the 2007 there is no problem, useally everbudy maintain one previous year and one current year, basic reason is if the any capitilization is to be made with back date u can able to do. If that is not there in your case u can close but if you open the future year after that you can not reset/reopen the 2007.
    If you open 2009 also there is no use, because with future date no budy do the capitalisation.
    advantage of opening of 2009 only one advantage is u can able to see the depreciation simulation will be taken period wise.
    disadvantage of opening of 2009 you can't open 2007 if you post any entries with back date.

  • I can not run the depreciation for particular asset which was not acqustion

                     I have created asset master in july 2010 when i did purchase that asset, but i did not post  the asset aqusistion in f-90 up to january. but on remianing all assets i did run the depreciation job  on every month.  Now in january ,  i have openend the posting periods from july to march and post that asset aqusisition f-90 in july psoting period., we are using april to march fiscal year.
                      when i am trying to  run depreciation job repeat run in  afab in test mode from july to december   it showing the error message that, depreciation already done for that proper periods. But in janauary when i am trying to run in test mode, It showing total depreciation amount from july to january , and it hit to only in january month but not to july to december each months.
    Now i want to psot the deprectiation for each month of july onwards to january 2010.
        pelase reply how to do run deprecaiton for that particular asset for each month for july to january

    Repeat run you can do only for the last depreciation period. For the asset which you are tryin to post depreciation from July to Jan, please check the asset value date which you have given while posting the transactions or in the asset master.
    If the asset value date is in July, then deprecaition from July - Jan will get posted in the current month depreciation in total. You will not be able to post depreciation individually month wise using AFAB.

  • Calculate Depreciation Forecast for Fixed asset

    Dear all expert,
    I'm new to ASO, would like to know if there's a way to do depreciation forcast for fixed asset in Essbase.
    1. Database type is ASO
    2. Assuming user will prepare forecast caplitialization of fixed asset then upload to Essbase
    3. Attribute dimension "Useful life" has been defined and attached to specific "Accounts" dimension for calcluation
    4. Need to calculate the forecast and spread of depreciation for future months
    E.g. Input 32000 USD for a fixed asset cost with 32 months useful life
    -> should calculate 1000 each month for the coming 32 months
    Can any expert suggest how to do this in ASO? meaning only can do calculation in member formula itself, not calculation script.

    I haven't used the feature, but the reference to 'local script_file' in the MaxL railroad diagram for the 'execute calculation' command suggests the location is relative to the client, if the semantics are consistent with the 'export data' command (the options for report scripts there are 'server' or 'local', although according to the railroad diagram there is no non-local alternative in this case!).

    The DBAG also says that the script files should have suffix .csc, while the Tech Ref example has suffix .txt - helpful!! If they were actually meant to sit in the server's db directory, I would be surprised to find the .csc suffix used, since that is also the suffix for aggregation scripts. Although me being surprised doesn't mean much.

    why don´t you use the logical database ADA which most of the FI-AA standard reports do? The logical database is a service to get this information without developing all the READ information and translation by yourself, especially when talking about mid-year-reporting, consistence checks, etc..
    If you decide to use ADA, then the events GET ANLA0, GET ANLAV and GET ANLCV are from interest for you for information about APC and planned/posted depreciation value.
