AMS5 Std vhost vod signed apps

Hello, I face a rather odd issue with the vhost on AMS Std. Whenever I try to change the signed vod app’s Application.xml <Streams> tag to point to alternative media location, I get this message:
Tue 07:24:51 PM: Invalid configuration file : {path}\vod\Application.xml
Inside the <Streams> tag I change the path to a physical one, not the one with the pound sign. Either way, I get the same message back. Moreover, when trying to modify ams.ini with the custom path, I get an error message as well. The <Streams> tag in Vhost.xml is blank. It turns out that the signed app can only digest _defaultVHost_ paths. How could this be resolved?

Hello Rudresh, tell you what – every time you post a response in the forum the software just starts working by some magic J. Ok, so the setup that I’ve described actually works. I guess it didn’t originally work (I never changed anything) is that AMS needs some time to update some state as per vhosts. So the setup is as follows: vhost.xml - . Along with that, I’m facing another issue with a duplicate vod signed app – e.g. myvod. Application.xml inside that dir was updated accordingly but the streams fails to play, is there a reason for that?

Mea culpa for cross posting, however I have not had an answer and problem is vexing and possibly instructive.
I have a signed app that access a local file when its methods are called in start(), with file.exists and it works fine, however when its methods are called outside of start() specifically file.exists or FileOutputStream is called it fails with a read error. If it is signed it should allow local access throughout the entire lifecycle of the applet? What am I doing/thinking wrong here? tia.

Should I have expected that? How can I get around it? I have this object as a member of another object that my applet creates and calls. Any ideas? tia.

No 'Enterprise-Signed' App Type option?

I have a new enterprise licence but when i am in DPS App Builder I do not have an 'Enterprise Signed' App Type option. Why? All the docs suggest I should have this option. Have the options changed recently or is there something else I need to do?

If you have an Enterprise License, you should get an option to choose Enterprise signed build at certificate stage (Where you import your Mobile Provisioning Files). If you do not see that, then your account might not be provisioned for Enterprise usage and might not have been included in your contract. Send me over your id via PM, I'll check if it has been provisioned correctly and included in your contract.

Getting a "waiting..." or "installing..." message after sideloading an Enterprise signed app onto iOS 7 iPad Mini (among others) using App Builder 3.1.0.

Getting a "waiting..." or "installing..." message after sideloading an Enterprise signed app onto iOS 7 iPad Mini (among others) using App Builder 3.1.0. The app icon remains "dim" on iPad desktop with one of the two messages. The messages change depending upon sync with iTunes or power-up from a shutdown. Tried assigning v30 and v31 as viewer versions, neither appear to work. The certificate signing appear to work without incident. The appropriate profile appears correctly within the iPad does not show it is expired.

This happens when the mobileprovision file does not include the device ID of the device you are attempting to install onto. You need to recreate the .mobileprovision file and make absolutely sure the device ID for the devices are included.

Enterprise Signed App

Anyone know how to create an Enterprise Signed App using DPS? The help/tutorials say to check the "Enterprise Signed App" box on the Certificate screen, but my screen doesn't have a check box, only two file selection fields for the mobile provisioning files. This might be because the tutorials are from 2011 and they've updated the App Builder recently?? I have an Enterprise iOS Dev account with the correct certficates.. my developer app works great for my test ipad.

Creative Cloud users can only create single-edition applications and don't have the ability to create enterprise-signed apps.

Enterprise signed app not loading correctly on iPad

I am testing my app using the Enterprise signed app option, but when the app loads on the iPad, it grays out. Tapping the app doesn't launch it. Just says "Installing..." but nothing happens. I have tried creating a simple test app with Xcode using the same bundle identifier as the mobile provision and that app runs on the iPad. This leads me to believe there is an issue with DPS App Builder and Enterprise Signed Apps.
Using this feature worked before, but seems to have stopped with this version of DPS App Builder. Any ideas?

I want to have a enterprised signed app where you don´t have the possibility to create a developer .ipa. You can only create an Enterprise .ipa file.
The mobileprovision file is correct, because it works also at the "non-enterprised-signed app" and the certificate is also valid.

Signing app with keychain certificate

I know a CA that issues free certificates on a Mac with

Java Web Start keeps asking user to accept signed app

When in select "run" in the java web start security popup for a signed web start application I expected that Java Web Start would remember my decision since the app i supposed to be installed and run locally the next time? But next time I run the app Im asked the same question. So far Im only using a self-signed certificate - will web start react differently when I use a real certificate? I do have the option to generally accept the certificate in the popup but I was hoping java web start would remember my decision on a per application basis?

Unknowner publisher error for signed apps

We have an AIR app (signed with Thawte code signing cert)
that we use to associate to a certain file extension. When we
download and open a file with the extension that is associated with
air app in IE7, IE throws "Unknowner publisher" warning for the
application exe. Is there a way to sign the application exe also so
that users will know we are not shipping any untrusted executable
in our app?

relationship between the signature applied to the .air file and the

Does anyone know of or have a SIGNED restart app so I don't have to turn off and back on my phone when I need to reboot?

The stand alone reboot-applications I know of are all unsigned, but some filemanagers have this option.
I use Activefile. A great free filemanager. It has 2 tabs, which makes it very usable when moving/copying files AND it has a reboot function. The basic version is signed.

I think the basic version can reboot (but I'm not sure since I use the extended version). If not you'll need the extended version, which isn't signed. But the extended version can easily be signed online without registering. I signed it here with no problems:

The problem is I am getting the wrong error. It is saying my syntax is wrong with on my myjar1.jnlp file with the included extension elements. If I remove the extension elements, it proceeds to load and eventually dies when it calls for classes in one of those jars. I am "sure" the syntax of the extension element is right or at least as indicated in the link above. Even if I remove all but one of the extension elements, assuming some type of dtd nesting, it still fails the same way as when all three (n) are in. Can someone please help on this? I have no more resources or clues. tia.

Is there anywhere that definitively stated how to configure a jnlp to deploy an application that has to be signed and uses jars that are signed by a some other third party? This is routine for applete deployment, and I recognize how jws is an evolution of that engineering, however I am nonplused as to how to do it clearly. Thank you.

Error when downloading any signed apps : No valid ...

I am using Nokia 2730 classic. Whenever I download any signed applications or browsers, after downloading it, it shows an error of 'no valid certificates' or 'certificates not on the phone'. In-built opera browser is also not responding as it shows a java null pointer error.
Another one problem is that, in music player when I turn it on, I only see a blank white screen however I can play music in it.
Please give me some solution, I also done software update but it doesn't work.

I don't really know about the music player issue but I might have an answer for the certificates thing.
The 2730 classic is not exactly a recent phone. It was announced over 4 years ago. It could be that the software packages you're trying to install are also pretty old, meaning that the certificate with which they were signed may well have expired by now.
What you can do is try to set your phone's clock to a date in the past, say in 2010 some time, and then try and install those packages again. If that works then "old age" of the certificates is the answer.
Obviously, don't forget to put your phone's clock back to the correct date afterwards

Private app distribution: dev version / testflight / adobe content viewer / b2b distribution

I am finalizing an app for my company that is supposed to be distributed only among our distributors. Apple rejected my Enterprise inquiry since our distributors are not our employees. I wanted to sum up my distribution options now and ask you for feedback. I do not plan to use App Store.
1. B2B distribution through apple
I can distribute custom b2b app through Apple, but it is available only in few european countries and this does not cover our needs since we cannot supply to all distributors. Also the process looks very complicated and I'd like to not use it.
2. Adobe Content Viewer distribution
If I tell my customers to download Adobe Content Viewer and sign in with my Adobe ID, the newest version of folios will be automatically downloaded to their devices?
Also on Adobe website it is stated that my folios should be automatically uploaded to Adobe servers - but they are not. From what I read on the forums I understood that it is only available to Creative Cloud subscribers, is it right? If I subscribe will I be able to use this way for as many users I want?
3. Developer version
Finally I know that I can distribute dev version. I will have to register devices UDIDs but they will expire (after what time?) and how many UDIDs can I register (I read in different places that I can have 50 or 100 testers).
4. TestFlight
What I undestood so far is that facilitates developeloper version distribution, but wouldn't I be able to use this tool to go around UDIDs expiration?

With DPS enterprise and Apple enterprise account, you can built and deploy enterprised signed app internally within your organisation. Create the app, deploy and host it internally, so anyone who has access to the link can download the app. Not sure if Apple terms allows your distributors from outside your organisation to access and download the app hosted internally within your organisation, check that with Apple.
If Apple terms does not allow, then you can use DPS restricted distribution method to deploy the app on the Appstore, but allow someone access to the content only if they are authenticated via the app, called direct entitlement or restricted distribution. Signing in to ACV does not automatically download the latest folio. Your folios are always uploaded on Adobe servers, you cannot host it somewhre else. Anyone can create, upload folios and see the folio in the Adobe Content Viewer. But publishing the folio to be available in an app requires DPS subscription.
You can register upto 100 UDID's on Apple dev portal. I don't think the UDID's expires so long as your Apple Dev account is active but the certificates expires exactly one year from the day it was generated.
