An authorised service provider does not want to repair based on applecare+
I have an iPad 3, and its screen is broken,, I took it to an authorized apple service provider in Dubai (UAE) to fix it. I have applecare+ that is valid till 2014 and never used before. However, this service provider does not agree on repairing or replacing my ipad unless I pay some money, in other words they do not agree admit apple care+ coverage ?!!
Please whom should I contact and What should I do to fix my iPad ?

so how would I know if it is restricted or not ? .. and by the way when I bought the iPad the salesman told me it is an internationl coverage withen authorized service providers.

I was using my macbook that I´ve received as a present from my father in april (he bought in in January but I live in a different country) all day long.
For spotify, replying on e-mails and watching online series. In the late afternoon I recognized that there was like a scratch inside the display. First I thought it was a hair on the screen. As I put my finger on it and I tried to wipe it, there was like a pixel explosion on the screen. Where I had my finger there is a impact point. It looks like somebody threw a stone at a window. There is a white point and from there, there are stripes that go everywhere. Colorful ones that go up and black ones at well. I went to the genius bar and tried to explained what happen, he said this is not possible and I checked in the internet and I found that it happened already to some people, but they had even a hole burned in the display. I don´t know what to do, they want 680 CHF for something which was not my fault. He said I probably closed the screen with something lying on the keyboard. 1st of all, there is no scratch nowhere on my computer, it´s inside the display and 2nd I am not gonna buy something for 2080 € and not be careful with it. I even spoke with the support hotline, they said that I should not pay for it, but the person in the mac store says differently. Very accurate analogy, ...except for stone,... replace that analogy with "softball".
Thats called a blunt impact reverse crack.
Those "colorful stripes" are damage to the LCD on the inside.
That "white point" you speak of is where the blunt impact occured.
typical glass impacts on notebook/laptop screens are of 2 types
about 90% are impacts, causing a crack(s) you can feel from outside (and inside)
the remaning 10% are blunt impacts you cannot feel from the outside, a blunt impact or pressing causes the glass to crack from the reverse side.,.......

It would initially seem that your client is still referencing the server, either for its inbound or outbound mail. (And I'm not sure how unplugging the server helps here, unless there's some sort of a configuration issue, or a duplicate network address or such.) This would usually be something within the configuration of the mail client.
The Mac OS X Server is significantly easier than the many other servers and server operating systems I've dealt with over the years, but it requires reading the manuals and/or some knowledge of networking and of server environments.
Small shops and home folks without the time or inclination to "spin up" on these server areas can be well-served with some help initially configuring the server. Servers are different from clients. Stuff that you're implicitly used to using when you're running a client -- the DHCP server, for instance -- are what the servers provide you with.
As for Mac OS X Server and particularly if you head outside of the default settings and sequences and off into the customizations, which is what has happened here, you might want to engage some assistance. Not just for the direct and obvious initial set-up sequence, but also for getting you set-up and started with backups and other such tasks. Before you get too deep in here and get too much underway and too much saved on your disks, do seriously consider getting somebody in to help set this box up for you.
Mac OS X Server is not "no IT", but it is rather closer to "less IT" than most. Particularly once you get it configured and running. -

Basically you don't at this time. The site James linked to above says that Apple is not accepting applications for service provider at this time.
Note that being an Apple service provider, even if they were accepting new applications, would not qualify you to repair iPhones or other iOS devices. Apple does not presently certify any independent service providers, even ones they already have under contract, to do actual repairs on such devices. I mention this just since you were discussing repair of an iPhone in another thread.

Do you have a backup? If so you could try restoring from that. Anything you created since the backup was made will be lost.

My CQ61-313US Notebook does not want to start up sometimes.
My notebook all of a sudden does not want to boot up properly. When I turn it on the power light comes on, the wireless icon stays red, and two lights flash on and off. One is located next to the caps lock button and the other is located above the end and page up buttons. I take out the battery and unplug the power cord, then hold down the power button for up to 30 seconds. Then I plug the power cord back in and try to restart it. I do this over and over again and if I get lucky it will boot up. What do you think is the problem here? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

If ti has been connected to a known-good charger/cable/outlet, and left to charge for at least 30 minutes, then try this. Disconnect it from the charger. Press & hold the Home button & SleepWake buttons firmly for up to 1 minute, watching for an Apple logo to appear. If it does, then let go of the buttons and let the device reboot. If it does not, then contact Apple for support options. Your device may have a hardware failure and need to be serviced/replaced.

Problem with outlook connector LDAP Directory MAPI Service Provider is not

I have very basic problem with sun outlook connector client.
I am using sun java system connector deployment tools to create client installation script, on first page I have to supply the location for web publisher and Microsoft LDAP service, I can find web publisher and I don't have any clue about location of LDAP services and without this my client instaltion script keep failing with following error.

If memory serves, Outlook XP offered the ability to set what address-book connectors were installed, one of which was LDAP (by default enabled). It may be a similar situation with Outlook 2003 (which I assume you are using based on the version number in the debug logs). Try using the Office '03 install CD and see if you can find the LDAP addressbook option and install it.

Windows does not want detect my DVD drive
I do have HP Pavilion dv7-1133cl after uisng Windows Recovery my Windows Vista does not want to recognize DVD drive.
When I have followed all advices what I have read here on chats I have find message:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code39)
I do not know what to do with this problem.
I will be really grateful for any help or advice what to do with it.

Error "Service EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE does not exist." in ESS.
We are on mySAP ERP 2004, and using ESS 60.2 version.
In the "Employee search" workset when I search for an employee it displays his last name, first name, positon, org unit, job, and some other stuff....Every thing is working great except for.........in the results that are dispalyed when a search is performed, I click on the orgunit that a particular employee belongs to, and its throwing me the following error
"Service EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE does not exist".
Has anyone come across this?

The links in SAP ESS Applications are built at runtime. The configuration for these links and the complete ESS/MSS Menu has been provided in the IMG in the backend(For ERP 2004). I do not remember the IMG Path. But yes you need to maintain the entries for Orgchart in the following views. Most probably they will be missing.
Check if there is an entry in the following view V_T7XSSSERSRV in your backend client.
Service Short Key - EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE
If its not there then you need to create one entry like this:

Link Resource EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE

Airport does not want to connect to a weaker signal
my airport has decided that it does not want to connect to a weaker signal. at home if i am next to the wireless source my computer connects just fine, but if i go downstairs to my room the signal strength starts dropping and then will disconnect all together and i am unable to connect again. the signal strength is strong enough to connect because my computer connected just fine before and i tried it with my brothers computer (he has a 15in macbook pro) and it connects just fine. any suggestions? thanks

i don't think it matters but i am not connecting to a AP base station at home. We use our iMac for our wireless internet. but even if i am not at home i cant connect to any wireless signal while others around me are connecting to a free service in town. (i used to be able to connect to the same service in town to which i can not anymore)
i did notice that when i open my MBP and wake it form sleep i am able to connect for a couple of min, then the signal gets weaker and weaker until it disconnects and i am not able to connect again.

In the last 2 days my Ipad does not want to connect to the internet via my home wifi's i have not done anything different so cany understand why this is happeniong. it just wont connect. Its a good job i have my 3g connection otherwise it would be worthless. i have tried resetting my wifi connections on my pad and unplugging the modem and resetting that. nothing is working. i have read several forums about this and seems to be an issue with a lot of ipads, i have read what you can do, however i dont think i should have to reset this, reset that, change this and change that when clearly its an apple issue.
can someone provide me with any simple way of fixing this issue. or can apple spend a little bit of their millions of dollars of profit to fix this little proble.Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)

For multiple programs and file types my changes in default apps do not "stick" after rebooting/restarting. This happens with Entourage, Acrobat, and others. What can I do to get my defaults application assignments to be stable? Thanks, Mike

Email attachment PDF close problem
When I open a PDF attachment to Mail, I cannot close it. No way to have the "Done" button appear. Consequently Mail stays blocked on the PDF opened page and cannot be used anymore. Hints appreciated.
